My mother used to make moon cakes. None of the kids took interest in it because we were so busy with our professions. We found it was easier to go to the Chinese bakeries /or markets to purchase them. They are very expensive this way. Now, I appreciate how my parents knew how to preserve those duck eggs and make those moon cakes.
I miss Peking duck sooo much!! My fav way of eating 桂花is pairing it with almond float(杏仁豆腐), perfect dessert during the summer😍Thanks for this video Mia, I always learn a lot from them!
I love your videos! They are so informational! I'm ABC and I love learning about why we eat the things we eat and why we do the things we do. Plus knowing the benefits of each makes me want to eat more, haha! Loved this!
I love how informational your vids are! Esp when my mom has a hard time explaining what everything is and just tel, me and my siblings "they say...." Lol
We actually eat aquatic snails in France too! Winkles to be precise. I don't know about river snails (but I'm sure some people eat them, we eat pretty much everything we find)
Thanks for this, very informative. Am gonna celebrate to explore different cultures while I am away at college, I will make these foods (try) and share with my Chinese friends and see if they think I am half bad lmao, I can't wait to try and make mooncake from a trad wooden mold. I'm so excited! Culture is a beautiful thing.
I've never heard of moon cake before, looks delicious I don't celebrate Mid-autumn festival but I am celebrated my birthday tomorrow ;) Her makeup and hair looks so nice Maybe I need to eat more pumpkins
My family doesn't like mooncake. I've only eaten it once when I was little; don't remember what it tastes like. I would always see it at the market, but we'd never get it. Might get one this year.
