I always come back to this video, the equivalent to lighting a candle for Eddie. Miss seeing you play, bud. I could only imagine how awesome it would’ve been to see you perform this one last time.
One of the only live recordings I've heard that was performed in the original key from the 5150 album. It wasn't long after the album release that they needed to drop it down because it was already too high for Sammy to hit the notes! Great song
I'm assuming this tempo is altered and not the actual one they performed it at, cause I don't get how Sammy could have survived to the end of this song with all the same high notes at this speed and still breath.
If you’re looking for some of the best live versions of Dreams-go check out their 1993 tour. Sammy sings it in the original key, same tempo, and eddie even adds some additional guitar.
@@adambass5704 Yeah, but Eddie never played this song live on the keys after the 5150 tour. They didn't play it live on either the MOR or OU812 tours in '88 and by FUCK in '91 all keyboard parts were soundtracked
Saw VH on this tour in New Haven..where they filmed "Live Without a Net and left this song out of the filming (They indeed played it). Like this video, it was a great live version...Edward just tears it up during the solo!!! Great video and thanks for sharing!
I remember paying a pay per view for this live without a net show on an old cable system in the 80's, only to be disapointed to not see dreams being played😡😠🤬
@@TheMrskydogYeah, I was disappointed when I first watched the DVD and realized Dreams wasn't on it, but their chemistry on stage for this tour is unmatched.
Love it how they are actually smiling and enjoying themselves whereas the bands these days only sing about death and look like they've just been informed that they've got cancer.
Love this so much. Amazing how egos can ruin the awesome comradery they all once had together. We can only Dream they'll make better amends soon, time's getting on.
Thanks man for the appriciation, I worked very hard on this video cause its my fav song, it took me like 15 hrs to make. And I dont work for them, I wish lol I'm just a die hard fan :)
It was a little faster than normal, but the energy, fun, and excitement in not only the song, but the video more than made up with it. AMAZING! I miss this VH :( Great editing job as well. This really showcased a lot of fun moments. Did you use to/ do you now work for them or the label?
@80sBoyRickyHagar they played good enough on the live without a net show but it was also a song not added to the DVD i thought they should have had every song on it. idk why they took songs out
Yeah this is the only good live version of dreams from the whole 86 tour, this song is very hard to sing live and Sammy nailed it to perfection as always. I'd like to see dave hit these notes ha ha!
Actually, no. If you can find the Montreal '86 show, it's on there as well. Also, at that same show, Sammy hopped on drums and Alex took the mic during Good Enough.
Good sound for a tape recorder. Nice work on the video. I think this recording is later on though. Mike never did sing solo "higher and higher" till later on in 95 and maybe some in 93.
@CairnTerrier69 Wow I wonder why they never put it in the video?? Thank you, I spent so many hrs editing this video, its very rare to have a recording of dreams from the 86 tour, and I found it from the only show that sammy sang it to perfection!
Eddie sempre aparecia mais que os outros, Van Halen trocou de vocalista algumas vezes, mas o Eddie sempre esteve lá, sem ele o Van Halen jamais teria chegado ao topo.
of course dave cant hit those notes, he sings in a different range. Then again, sammy can't sing like steve perry or rob halford...it doesnt mean he sucks. Anyway, great song but i dont believe they have ever done a great version live...i think the record version is so perfect, its hard to live up to
@@80sBoyRickyHagar Man, the audio is not bad, it sounds good, you made this video with a lot of love, someone who doesn't know much about Van Halen could easily tell you that it is an official video of the band, personally it is one of my favorite videos, I usually come to see it from time to time and I read some comments, after so many years I think it's time to thank you, this video is pure love for your favorite band, thank you very much!!! R.I.P to the Great Eddie Van Halen.
look at them that's when they still were smiling at each other the good old days!

hipermegaultrasuper beautiful song
I love that Mike was singing in the chorus even in this early live version. He has such a great voice, he should have been a lead singer.
Saw them in Las Cruces,NM on October 6,1986 I was a freshman in high school those were good times, still have my shirts and ticket stub.
Why was this not on Live Without a Net??? If I could time travel I would go back to see the 1986 tour!
and good enough、too, maybe buisiness probleme
Dreams put a lot of strain on Sammy’s voice so they probably just didn’t play it.
Yeah, LWAN is good...but I would much rather travel back in time to see the 1984 tour.
@@pancakes7294 the played it but didn’t film it for some reason. Same with you really got me and good enough
@@VanHalen_5150 Technical problems prevented those songs from being included.
this seemed like a super fun tour
Play this at .75× speed and it becomes a chilled medium slow power ballad.
Great song that will always stay the same
The magic era of Van Halen, was with Sammy Hagar, after that they get completely lost.
Good Times....GREAT Memories....AWESOME "BAND".....miss these guys being together....thanks for posting!

Sammy hits the first higher and Mike the second one
