  • In this vlog we head out to Arashiyama in the Kyoto area.
We start off walking from the train station, through the Middle Gate, which opens up into a walkway that has several Buddhist temples as well as Shinto Shrines. At the end of this walkway you walk straight into the entrance of the Tenryu-ji temple grounds and the Songenchi Teien Gardens. We opted to pay and walk through the Gardens, which ended up giving us a backside view of the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest.
After exiting the gardens, we were immediately next to the main walkway through the Bamboo Forest that you see everywhere online. Unfortunately there are tons of people here, we walked through and kept walking down to the Katsura River. We enjoyed walking along the river and browsing the shops.
For Dinner we traveled a little ways back into Kyoto to Fire Ramen. Since we didn't really do research on what this place was, just saw that it had good reviews, we were surprised when they actually lit our ramen on fire...overall it was a good time!
