I must say I lost track of which piece I love the most. I enjoy your enthusiasm for natural grain. It's amazing what is hidden behind the bark of a tree, or under an old neglected finish. This is an inspirational collection.🌷 Nicely done Angie.

I'm so amazed at how you can see just the right direction to take these pieces. So many people just paint, but often times the wood is gorgeous. You do an excellent job of choosing which piece or parts of the piece to paint and which to stain. I love it!

One thing I love about your restoration choices is how you often use paint and stain. Your paint colour choices are wonderful, and the painted parts of the furniture nicely frame the beautiful stained wood parts and makes their natural beauty fairly pop… if that makes sense.

About that "Lace doily" that melted into the one walnut piece; Back in the 60's-70's it was actually thought of as "Fashionable/stylish" to use Plastic Doilies on good furniture, the saddest part was that when exposed to sunlight, the plastic doily would actually melt into the wood, and if the finish on the wood was breaking down, the plastic melted into the wood fibers and destroyed many items,
America's LOVE of Plastic has always been a prime example of the lack of critical thinking and planning ahead. Evidenced by the thousands of pounds of Plastic waste that will be causing damage to the Earth for a very long time.
Thank you for saving that piece and all the others from the landfills!♥♥♥
Saving beautiful furniture for the future - and thank you for sharing your skill & art with us! Looking forward to any/all future projects. Stay safe & well.

I so appreciate your respect for MCM furniture and that you preserve wood finishes so often. In the late ‘60s I went to design school in NYC, then worked in High Point, NC and married a High Point native. So, in both cities I was immersed in beautiful contemporary furniture. While I enjoy some of the highly decorative traditional pieces many of the furniture designers create, it warms my heart to see your work with these lovely modern pieces.

Not sure you know, but #1 is a commode. The potty is placed inside the door and traditionally, a bowl and pitcher is placed on top. The drawers are for soap and towels, razor etc. These pieces usually have a mirror. But even today, toilets are often referred to as a commode. Angie, what you did with it is just amazing!

Thanks so much! Yes, here we refer to it sometimes as a commode and sometimes as a wash stand. Depends which antique shop you walk into, haha. For some reason, the terms are rather interchangeable here- I’ve used both over the years. :-)

I love your videos and have learned so much from what you have uploaded so far. Believe me, i have watched hundreds of hours of videos. Some people out here are true artists and make the pieces into art. Beautiful to look and appreciate but not something i would do or own for me. Some are painting with little refinishing of the wood. That may be due to the original piece not have the great wood grains but the pieces still look very nice when they are done. But, your work really resonates with me. It stays true to the piece and the transformations are absolutely stunning. Each and everyone I would want to put into my house and use. Thank you for starting this channel. You are going places with it.
