Ice-T calls this a "gang rap", but he wrote it in high school (early-mid 70s), which was before Hip Hop started (late 70s). Another term he's used for raps like these is "Crip Rhyme".
Everyone cheering making noise “yo that was bad ass“ while Ice T is sitting there with the 1000 yard stare serious as fuck 😳
@Charlie Ennis 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

They are clowns ecspecially nore he has bad charecter
I'm such a really good singer 🥰.,.,., ua-cam.com/video/Lz5x6vFqFN0/v-deo.html
hell yeah that sh*t was serious
Ice T has had a very interesting life. Army, pimp, robber, musician, rapper, actor and entrepreneur. Like 5 lifetimes worth
Update: Bumped into him on Wall Street about two weeks ago when he was taking a breather from shooting one of those SVU or CSI shows he does. Being from NY and seeing and knowing famous people I don’t usually stop to say Hi, but in his case I did. Nice guy.
Bro gotta be an actor
He lying. He a rapper and five o actor. Officer T, lol
@@spacedoutl4634 nah he was known for hittin licks..
It ain’t over til it’s over bruh.
He was a Marine not in the army
That freestyle sent shivers down my spine. God DAMN
Damn
Yeah it was scary, that part when he said " One more shot and the nigga was dead" like I could see that shit, like he painted that picture!
😂😂😂😂😂😂 y’all soft as he is
O.G Cuzzo went off!
that rap he tossed out gave me a chill and the look in his eye at the end seemed to bring back memories of a pass life he's probably happy to be away from
Ice t wrote about other ppls life t Is an artist no doubt he's seen alot but more than likely heard more and learned more through his homies and community
Yup. It's like he fell back into that world during that rap and looked side to side trying to realize where he was at at the end.
😂😂he is a fake gangster.. it’s called acting
@@jamesrob5114 i hate to burst your bubble but many years ago somebody i went to school with knew the same people he was hanging around in LA and said he was all about the lifestyle in a big way!..that's why some of his early work is telling kids don't go down that path before it ends badly...be safe an stay healthy
@@labenbrittenum6934 thanks.. you to. But he will even say he was more of a Hustler he was never in a gang don’t you remember this is the same guy that dress like Madonna breaking days..
The Gangs in LA Will Never Diiiiiiiieee..... Just Multiply. Colors!

Some gangs do die out
Ice T painted a scary picture of LA back in the day ..OG
About like how is now in Chicago with GDs and Vice Lords.
Think that's a scary picture, come out west to the chi
Mr. M A J E S T I C XIII . Blackstruggle77 not like Chicago, we had people to answer to back then. If you did some something savage without permission or a good reason you had consequences at least in Long Beach we did.

Kev Mac Videos!!! Kev Mac is from Rollin 60s as well and he was friends with Ice T. His channel has the deepest history of LA and Compton you will find. You'll be amazed.
My Navy shipmate was a rolling 60s crip. He introduced me to NWA back in '88.
August 2020. Ice T will always be the OG in the rap game . 💯
and he be chillin most the time. you don't even see him rap like that man but when he do the 🤬goes hard! 🥶💯💯
ICE .T is the godfather of gangsta rap period every real one now that strait up
He jacked his flow for "Six In The Morning" from Schooly D's "P.S.K." then Easy E did the same thing "Boyz In Da Hood"
@@biffstudd you right
Ice T said it was Schoolly D
@@theroofl1 And that's why everyone love him. He keeps it 100.
I'm from Johannesburg, South Africa and Ice-T was one of the hottest rappers growing up in the late 80s. His "Hunted Child" song is still one of the best raps I've ever heard. Ice-T's social commentary was some of the most compelling narratives I've ever heard.
TrOOf 💯Chitown we was bangin him too
Ice said he had "diplomatic immunity"(could go in any hood). he was like a M.c slash d.j... he could rap and various gangs would request shout outs when he performed...he had ties but basicly repped the whole south central movement in its infant stages of hip hop...what we know today as gangster rap .
Ice t is a fake gangster.. do your research
Yea right
@@jamesrob5114I heard the same. He’s more like an associate
5:12 exactly. Booyaa TRIBE was the first to bang on wax even back in the late 80s they just not as big as NWA and ICE T but they some West Coast pioneers. Legends
Actually DJ Quik in 87. Mixtape
Nobody was checking for booyaa tribe outside of Carson. Nobody was checking for quick outside of Compton. Ice T took the hood shit national in '86 with "6 in the morning" . I know cuz I was there.everything else is fairy tales.

You forget too short
Yeah ur rite & they were real street dudes.. Nwa & ice t are fake gangsters
those 16 bars were heavy man! all you youngsters out there respect the older cats who kicked in doors so yall could just walk through em
That rap that ice t spit.. sounds hard...even in2020
That is what got me listening to Ice T, when he spit gangsta rap. It was my first time ever hearing anything like it. I’ll never forget him rapping about rolling up on a mark parked at the curb, spraying him with an uzi sub machine gun the imagry was so grafic
That freestyle was dope af
That was real gangsta
NHC 60s biggest black gang in L.A.
That was no freestyle
@fixation station Exactly! I keep telling these dummy's a freestyle is a unrehearsed rap or song unwritten and never performed until that very moment! Anything else is a performance.
That was not a freestyle 😂😂it was written.. he is a fake gangster
Ice T need his biography about the LA TIMES during his time
After all his movie and TV series success, Ice T is a REAL one who hasn't conformed for industry acceptance nor has he forgotten where he came from. I'm sure he's matured and grown as a man, but he still that same dude he was 40 years ago
Love hearing Ice speak on it...
ICE T was and is the one that brought "GANGSTA RAP" to light... His music was always dope and kicked reality. I remember when ICE T first came on the scene for me with, 6 in the morning.
😂😂to bad he is not gangster.. he is fake.. do your research
Schooly D, Ice-T, Just Ice were gangster rappers.

Without a doubt
"Lethal Weapon" was my favorite track by Ice-T!!! That song gqve me energy and made me want to destroy things using telekinetic forces!!! LOL!! I was a kid.
Yeah we all remember when ice T sold out to the industry don't remind us homie
Living legend he might not have been the most lyrical emcee ever but he told his reality and ,like he said out the whole west on his back . Ppl always credit N.W.A. for bringing gangsta rap to the fore front but everybody always sleep on T ...the song colors nuff said . This man has done it acting , hip hop , and has a bad ass metal band .
Can this brother stop cutting his guest while he still talking
@C. dont try to make it seem like its a strategy the guy is just terrible he asks a bunch of ignorant questions, interrupts guests while they are about to get into interesting stories, has a bunch of homies in the studio that wont stfu and every interview he ends up the drunkest person in the room. He cant construct an interview and since efn just sits around doing nothing the guests are forced to do it and it shows in this interview thank God Ice is straight to the point doesnt let Nore interrupt him and gets right back to the story when he does cause otherwise we would ve lost a lot of gems from this interview
yes
Never!!! He cutting him off and don’t know anything about gang life!!

Wow, he wrote that sh*t in High School and that fire still hot in 2022 🔥 …
Shieeeeeeeeeeeeeet
Ice t got the best voice for cutting through a hard beat
Just-Ice was another East Coast rapper who was doing gangsta rap early early in the game
Ice t has always been a pretty straight up dude. It would be cool to have a conversation with him about old school rap and growing up in those times.
Interviewer: "So you were rollin 60's?" ICE T: ".....Yes!" LOL
😂😂😂😂
60 4 life
Like Ice Cube in Friday when Smoke asked if he wanted to go get the sugar from his house...

Ice t knew every gang
“Six In The Mornin”especially the first verse, is one of the greatest raps of all time.
Love y'all fam
I was really into this interview. I forgot about the time and it just ended. Damn

They were tryn hard to keep Ice T on tha subject of gang life. 🤣🤣 Ice T was like, so uhhh, back to tha music 😂😂
I like the interview
The movie ‘Colors’ and T’s titled song will forever be classic
Big u, validated a lot of what ice was saying he was hoodstar
Ice t is the father of gangster rap he was the first rapper who actually made the first gangster rap song
The first person to do gangster rap is scholly D he should get the credit but whatever

@Juan Bowen nope schooley d. Learn hip hop history
@Juan Bowen stop clowning nothing in rap started in west coast. Even Pac was east coast. Rap started in the Bronx but Kool hurk, first battle rapper Kool Moe Dee, and first gangsta rapper is schooley D. Even ice t admitted that in an interview. And you get no stripes for robbing someone on your own turf. Why didn't he come to NYC and do it. Smh

Ice T was on that drill shit before anybody else.

the first time I heard west coast rap was "Colors"in 1987 on while watching the movie and it SCARED THE SHIT OUT OF ME
"psychopath walkin..." I think the song was meant to be scary.
OG Ice T giving some history
I was born and raised in South Cali. To me it’s normal life but after looking at other gang maps like NY,Chicago, and it made me think oh man no wonder why people are scared when they come here !
That's the first time I heard that whole verse and im 46.But did you see his face at the end of the verse?✊🏾💪🏾🔥🔥🔥
I feel you tho bro.
Did he lay that on a track ?
@@AlexPerez-sy8tp the look was cool as fuck though.
when they do that "and and and and and" yeah. HIGHLY QUESTIONABLE.
All day folk nation but love T
ice is telling you how it was..great story teller....I love him for that..but even then he knew that fully committing to any set was never leading him to the potential he had. It would only lead to destruction. Smart man...
Ice T was born in Newark, NJ and raised in Los Angeles, CA.
He's been in the hood forever, wild.
Damn i wanna hear the rest of the interview.
That last cuh rip got me wanting to move to LA and change my name to Tyrone
He really laid some History down. If you know, you know. Owe love for the homie on that interview.

He love rapping his gang raps
Powerful video
Ice-T the Original Gangster of Gangster Rap from L.A California from the 1980s
This is basically the story of invention of gangsta rap.
Ice T put many of our peoples reality out there even though he was from the west coast. It was reality for many of us all over the nation, that’s why it was relatable.
Pops told me about Ice T & Jazzy Dee Club Radio 1983 True Shit
I know people hate when nore cut people off a lot.. but you gotta remember hes a fan boy / Stan of the OG'S he interviews in hip hop 😂
Snappin
Love it the ist rapper album I purchased. I still play it today . Love that song Drama and you can see where it came from .
Ice T is the original triple OG🙌🏼
Got dammmm IceT 🔥🔥🔥
remind me of Everyhood USA! like on my block back in the day, OGs on the corner dropping that science to us youngins. if they see you on the block during school hours and you're not sick, "Why ain't u in school Lil Harp?" Those guys were righteous, they smoked and drank but they'd NEVER give you any or let someone get u hooked on something. We had HONOR back then. Now everybody is out for self!
Is this Nore's Drink Champs when it was just getting started? Wow, the struggle was real! 😅
Now he making law and order!!! Salute cuzzo...
look at Ice-T’s face when they pullout the kazoo
This dude has been doing this exact rap in every interview since 2010 as if he’s just remembered it for the first time in 40 yrs...
Whenever I hear Ice T speak on these topics its all truth behind it 😊
someone spoke on Ice-T writing gangsta rhymes or poetry before rap was invented or popular on the west coast. I believe he revised it though to make it sound harder.
@Little Jimmy
@Damond Pleasant
Ice-T is safe. He was basically down with the 60s....
Dam that rap🔥🔥🔥
The man knows what he is talking about, never challenge him about that !
As someone from England, my first gangsta rap track i heard was probably "betta bring a gun" i remember 6 in the mornin, I never thought Schoolly D was a gangster rapper, but Ice T is held in very high regard in the UK
I always liked "Body rock"
I hope he interviews Schoolly D the eastcoast Godfather of gangster rap.
Ice t the legend hes real
great iconic rapperz it's all
Lol this dude ice t is a legend. "SHE WANTED TO KILL ME!" Iceburg album is a fucking classic 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
If you know your set you better know your hood history...
Y’all notice how he stopped “janell, big....anyways” everyone knows not to snitch on Big U especially on tape
Been watching Kev Mac? Lol
Could've been talkin bout Big Ric
Sick AF
The 30'$ was and still is the force ice t
why dont ice make music like that still ...thats dope
So wot fool
So wot fool
He does TV now
The interviewer irritated me with all the interruptions. Lol. And you can see it also bothered Ice-T, but he’s a professional. I remember hearing about this cat back in the 80’s in my neighborhood. A true hustler. I’m glad that he pointed out all of that old school non-color wearing in the music industry. Rap cats ALWAYS told you where they were from, without saying it, if you knew the streets, the symbols, and lingo. But nowadays everybody on “super thug” status, banging and claiming any and everything, on some stupid shit. Smh. Backwards ass progression.
Thats some real shit ..i love that ..word on that Ice T
Shoutout to my Hoover's in LA
