In my opinion i think MMLP2 was Em's attempt at trying to appeal to the newer generation of kids and the older generation that grew up listening to him but at the same time also carry a general concept and closure throughout the album. Bad Guy was a sequel to Stan and possibly contains one of his most spectacular verse of all time on the second beat where he acknowledges the fact he is not as good as he was back when he first came out. Headlights he ends the shit with his mother. Legacy he takes us through a timeline of when he was a sad child to making his dreams reality. Evil Twin and The Monster he comes to terms with his dark side (Slim). Rap God he basically spits fire for a straight 6 minutes and Rhyme or Reason he disses the fuck out of his father. MMLP2 was a lyrical masterpiece and by far his most technical project to date.
Wow, this is honestly one of the best comments I've read about MMLP2. I think Em is a genius for creating a sequel to his most successful album. Not only because he just threw it out there out of the blue, but just how he synthesized it. It wasn't like The Hangover 2 where they just make more fucked up scenarios that are redundant or Family Guy's new seasons where the writers endeavor to rekindle the old flame it had back in the day by calling out new celebrities and media. Comparatively, you don't see Em rapping about graphic imageries or celebrities as much as he used to because he's grown. He went on another route, which was revisiting old topics and tackling on them as a changed man... More mature, older, and sober. This LP is really overlooked because the fans expected the old stuff again. Oh well, props to folks like you who respect Em's genius approach at a sequel. More importantly, props to Em.
I love hearing Em talk about the 'puzzle' of rap, with words as the pieces. To me, he's the epitome of a person bursting with creativity, and he literally just can't contain it.
I saw this right before watching a genius scientist describe his process and integration of complex mathematics when it hit me--It's the same shit! Game recognize game. Most of us are ultimately all on the same team.
The crazy thing about Em is, all the regular interviews I've seen him do and special guest appearance I've seen, he always has the same angry facial expression; this is the first time I've actually seen him smile and look comfortable in an interview and look genuinely happy. I guess that's what being around your own kind does. I was the same way, just kept quiet and to myself until I was in the studio with my crew and banging song after song! Great interview!!
bigmanting losvegas I'll answer your question with a question. Do you at times find yourself more reserved when around people that you are not familiar with or aren't in your immediate circle of friends and family like co-workers or random acquaintances? And when you are finally around those who you truly care about or with friends and others who share in the same interests and passions, are you able to be more open, more sincere, more like your true self? If so then you should be able to understand where my comment came from...
Eminem felt comfortable cause Ice T cause is a rapper so they relate in alot of ways. Em seems like a very humble dude and a true fan of the culture who obviously was influenced by the greats and became a great himself if only some of his fans had the same open-mindedness of the music and the pioneers that paved the way before him.

It was a moment we were waiting for over 10 years. He met Ice-T back in '99 during the Warped Tour but only remembered a few words from Reckless. It was nice to hear him do the whole first verse this time
Imagine being 6 or 7 and memorizing raps on 1984...thats how old Royce was...em was like 10 or11 and had a family member (uncle Ronnie) play it for him repeatedly. If Royce was 6 or 7 and saw it in the movies...once....as a child....how could he know it🤔

I love the puzzle line sometimes when I'm writing something it will take me a few days or weeks to understand what I initially was trying to do. I'm going to break you guys off something real right now Einstein said the formula for genius is 1% genius 99% work! Think about when you get an idea, it comes in a spark! After that you try to do the work to figure it all out. I do sociology coaching I hesitate to say what you can do with that without getting paid first but trust me that is the key to knowing yourself and your own mind and the way it works that itself will give you a leg up on everyone else. Back to what I was saying what I end up doing is creating something that is like a puzzle to me and takes a while to get there and figure out exactly what I was attempting to do especially when it comes to mixing something that I freestyled. It's a difficult thing to do but if you master the workload part of it and pay attention and be ready when you get the spark to write those things down! Just remember this sometimes an algorithm and math equation comes in the form of a seed.
I wasn't into Em growing up, I was a nas, mobb deep, wutang, epmd, J5, and bone thugs fan more than anything, but in all seriousness Em deserves the title as number one contender for best lyricist of all time, even though he isn't my flavor ill give credit where its due, was a big Royce fan too.

Royce's lines are from 'Legendary' off of his Success Is Certain album. Definitely worth checking
Just remember this sometimes an algorithm and math equation comes in the form of a seed.
eminem d lyrical boss..he's my mentor till i die
I love his humility. He doesn't disrespect other rappers
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I wasn't into Em growing up, I was a nas, mobb deep, wutang, epmd, J5, and bone thugs fan more than anything, but in all seriousness Em deserves the title as number one contender for best lyricist of all time, even though he isn't my flavor ill give credit where its due, was a big Royce fan too.
“ Talk is cheap, it costs less to gossip “
Em smashes it with those few verses at the start!!!!
He is really passsionate in describing the way
he creates his lyrics thats what i love about EM.
Thx for posting!
As soon as the pen touches the paper and those words drip down from the ink... it becomes 'written.' Nothing more / nothing less.
