Thank you so much pastor Skip. I have been binge watching and listening to your sermons. I absolutely love them all!!!!!! At the beginning of this sermon when pastor Skip asked who’s still single, I shoot my hands up so high.... but I’m sitting alone in a room .......😆😂
Thank you pastor skip heitzig for your encouraging sermon. There are always new things, new teachings, new encouragement and new HOPE from your words. Thank you to remind me to wait for 'The One' . That was like I was listening to you live while surrendering myself. Thank you so much sir.. blessed from India!
This is going to sound like a stupid question and has nothing to do with this message (I haven't even listened to it yet), but I was just reading Ephesians 1:3-6 which says (HCS): "...he chose us ...before the foundation of the world,.....He predestined us to be adopted...." . Ok so my question is this: What if the reason I can't stop messing up is because I am trying to be a saved person when actually the end of the story goes that I end up in hell? What if I wasn't chosen? What if I'm reading someone else's mail, so to speak???? Maybe that is why I can't seem to "kill the spiders". I think I am going to ask John MacArthur this same question.
@Mrs. B.S. - Thanks for reaching out to us. My name is Jason and I’m on the pastoral staff here at Calvary Church. The question of what if I’m not chosen is not a new or even rare question. What if I’m not chosen? What if I can’t get saved even if I want to? I want you to think about it like this. If you want to be saved, if you have responded to the gospel then it’s because God wants you to be saved. A person who is not “chosen” wouldn’t care about salvation or righteousness. The line of thinking that what if I’m not chosen is not a helpful or productive one. It only serves to shake your faith and stop your growth. You begin to think “I can’t know God” instead of “How can I grow with GOD” If you are struggling in your walk or finding that you are “messing up” frequently, then you are in good company. Paul dealt with this same issue in Romans 7:15, in part he says “I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.” He concludes this thought with “Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!” When you find yourself messing up, draw closer to Christ. This will always be more productive and bring more change than questioning your salvation. I hope this helps, Pastor Jason Mills
