    This is fantastic, Adam. Beautiful scenery and well-balanced exposure. Nothing better than a hike into the woods with a tripod on your back!

    I really enjoyed the drone footage of the ice on the lake. It gave a really cool perspective. The final photo at the end really turned out fantastic. I love the orange lichen on the foreground rocks.

    Hello. hello, hello. Fantastic location. Wish I could take advantage of your return trip here as mentioned in your most recent vlog but probably not a possibility for me. Mt. Assiniboine is wonderful but I was really taken with Sunburst Peak. Marvelous chunk of rock and a perfect companion element in your image from the Niblet. Thanks for sharing these wonderful adventures.

    • @QuietLightPhoto
      @QuietLightPhoto  6 років тому +1

      Thanks, Stephen! Sunburst is an impressive piece of rock indeed. The great thing is that on many occasions Assiniboine is hidden by cloud but Sunburst being that much lower in elevation kind of saves the day as it isn't covered. You never know you might get there one day. Cheers!

    Very nice - I just discovered your channel and subscribed - looking forward to seeing more. I do not use filters when I shoot and so I enjoyed how you handled the last photo. Dave

    • @QuietLightPhoto
      @QuietLightPhoto  7 років тому

      David McCormack thanks! I do use filters but quite sparingly. The only filters that I generally use are a polarizer and ND filter. The grads I don't bother with anymore as it is so easy to adjust the images in processing, although that does take some extra work.

      Cheers, Gavin! Would be great to do a collaboration of some sort. Looper perhaps? I have some material from Babel but probably not enough. I find it difficult to take video and images at the same time

    • @fototripper
      @fototripper 7 років тому

      Yeah I know. On the few times I've tried it you feel kind of torn between getting good shots and getting interesting video. We'll defo do a collab. I'm gradually gearing up to get some video done. Was that a GoPro you used for the handhelds? What's Looper?

    • @QuietLightPhoto
      @QuietLightPhoto  7 років тому

      fototripper some video is with a GoPro some with a Sony RX 100 MK III. Looper is the canyon not far from Nitinat on the way to Carmanah.

      AAAH, sorry, the one we talked about. There's no way I'd want to be on video wearing a wet suite. I look like some kind of seal with limbs. When are you in the Rockies next?

    "And then I got the drone out" 5:23. The use of drones in Assiniboine Provincial Park is prohibited. Disturbing the peace and quiet of a place like this is a crime.

    I thought we weren't allowed to fly drones in Canada's Parks, were you granted permission? Just wondering because I was just there in January and I wanted to take my drone but was told that it was very difficult to get permission. It is a beautiful place there, I like you vlogs a lot, wish you success.

    • @QuietLightPhoto
      @QuietLightPhoto  6 років тому +1

      National Parks, no. Some BC Provincial parks, no. The rules around drones in Canada are not clear at all and depends on the location. There might be a no fly rule in Assiniboine, I don't know and I didn't ask because I can pretty much guess what the answer would probably be regardless if was a policy or not. I was flying the other day in a park and a guy came up to me and told me I couldn't fly in any BC provincial park because of the privacy act which is not true at all, i didn't want to get into a pissing match with him so I packed up and left, the message is certainly not clear so I fly first and ask questions later. Most of the time I keep my drone flying low key, less hassle that way. Thanks, Celso!
