I'm Brazilian and look forward for the mince pies reviews annually. Las t year I went to the UK during Christmas time purposely to eat mince pies everyday and now I'm not only invested, I'm nostalgic.
first of all, can't get over that car scene!! second i live for your mince pie reviews even though i live in NYC and have never had one, but living through you ❤ feeling so blessed with this extra long vlog please keep them coming!!
My husband has shouted across the room that you should test Morrisons bakery mince pies. He does preface that the pastry to filling ratio is weighted to pastry, but that they are ‘slutty’.
Omg I paused the video cause he said gorgeous 😮💨 and your reaction 🥹😂 I had to turn the sound up to make sure 😂😂😂 plus your review on the Greggs mince pie was phenomenal, it felt like we were all tasting it!!! You vlogs make me so happy and inspired and I think your understated fashion sense is bordering iconic, thank you for another wonderful vlog! *clicks play*
I could watch you talk about books all day long! Canadian subscriber here Btw, have been an avid watcher of your mince pies content for years now and I have never tasted one but man they do look good! 😊
i’ve been watching your vlogs for years and i love your annual mince pie reviews but as a korean living in america i still have no idea what they taste like LOL but you make them sound so yummy
Saved this to get me through a low cardio session at the gym and loved every second. I’m deeply invested in your mince pie journey, every year you make me forget I don’t like them 😂
Been watching these since your Manchester apartment days. As a life long New Yorker I remember wondering why you were loving minced meat pies... I legit thought it was meat. I'd like to think i googled it that same year but now wondering how long I watched these vids before I realized what these are lol
Feeling spoiled with so many vlogs recently❤ also, love the mince pies contest. Have absolutely no idea what they are but every year I get tempted into ordering all the way to South America
Beloved is heartbreaking! quite a beautiful and devastating read for me and for the heart of America. i'm overdue for a reread of it. if you haven't yet, The Bluest Eye is exceptional! and it's her debut!
Lovely vlog as always ❤️ …I love to read but it’s such a here and there and thing for me. Without fail, your book chats always inspire me (and I’m sure so many others) to read more!!
Did I just stumble upon "Testing Basics : Mince Pies?" 😁 Laughed out loud about your enthusiasm for them. The only one I can kinda stomach is the almond boozy-ish range at M&S. Maybe give them (M&S) a second chance?
I can't wait to hear what you think of The Dutch House.; I adore Ann Patchett! I used to back the Gregg's mince pies, but this year I've felt like they're quite sour. I do have a cold though, so could be altering my taste a little bit. Patisserie Valerie does a great mince pie! Lovely vlog :D
The Greggs mince pie is vegan friendly, which means it is made with vegetable fat - the others are made with butter. The vegan sausage roll from Greggs is really very good too!
I love how all the comments are about mince pies 😂 MY PEOPLE. Although I will say, can’t beat my mums homemade, maybe I should send you a couple to include 😂😂
The grey sweater you are wearing for the book review is *stunning*! I could not find it in the description box, do you mind sharing where you got it? Thanks!
Maybe the problem with re-reading is that we sell ourselves this idea that its about the book when really we want to feel like we did when we read that book for the first time. But thats not possible, because time went on and we are different now.. Just a random thought i had when i heard you talking. Lovely vlog as always! ❤️
I say belo-VED when I am using it as a noun - referring to a specific person eg, my belo-ved..... When I am describing someone or something (adjective), I say beloved, eg it was very beloved.
I love the mince pie reviews. I love Christmas and your mince pie review is part of it. You are right though-impossible to find a mince pie in the U.S. Please, please, please read “Imajica” if you haven’t. One of my favorite books.
oh no, could you post a list of your mince pie ratings in the info box or as a pinned comment please? my hearing isnt so well so I cant catch all the brand mentioned. but I understood that Greggs was very yummy ha! (also the shoe brand you said in the first clip, what was it again?)
Thank you for the tip to read Beloved sentence by sentence. I tried reading it a while ago and didn't get far into it, you're making me want to give it another chance.
huge fan of all of your vlogs, but the videos around this time of the year (not the biggest Christmas fan either…) with the mince pies and everything else is just t h e absolute ! best! ❤❤❤
Hello! missing London terribly as I am watching this(Parisienne but after 12years a Londoner at heart). I thought I would send a SyFy suggestion to you, The Horde of Counterwind by Damasio. I've read it earlier this year and a little like a couple of the books you mentioned, extremely descriptive and to add on to the chalenge it's own glossary. But once you get into the strange pace of the book its really good !
hey lizzy! Have you read any rachel cusk? I think you might enjoy “second place” and “aftermath” by her! Also, I don’t know if you’re into poetry, but I recently read “averno” by louise glück and it was absolutely beautiful
How in the world do you eat all those pies? Do you have a mince pie and tea party for your friends? I wish these small pies were a thing here in Canada. I'd definitely go for one with my tea right now.:)
now i know i need to get a mince pie along with my vegan sausage roll at Greggs (im veggie not vegan, so don't worry) i really like tesco's own mince pies, and i thought maybe you could try Lidl!
Okay okay YES i also find the Greggs mince pies are the best - AND they're vegan! :) I live in Switzerland but go to England every end of year as my lover is english and I always end up buying so many boxes of Greggs mince pies :') Buuut just like you i need to try a bit of everything, you know just to make sure about the differences and stuff. The softest of soft launches 👀
Crying. Screaming. Throwing up.
And yes you are gorgeous and I love that he openly compliments you. You deserve the best xo
"Gorgeous...", he whispered. 🥰
❤️
I’m not from the UK. I’ve never had minced pie. Yet every winter I am invested in the journey to find the best pie 🥧
I'm Brazilian and look forward for the mince pies reviews annually. Las t year I went to the UK during Christmas time purposely to eat mince pies everyday and now I'm not only invested, I'm nostalgic.
That’s so cool🥺

😂😂 I’m going to take a trip to my nearest Morrisons this week to see how slutty it is
I live for your Mince pie reviews. 😂
Thank you, I do feel I’ve been a bit eager with them this year 😂
I don’t even like mine pies and I love the reviews 😂😂

The Dutch house is one of my favourite books ever and definitely my favourite Patchett I’ve read x
3 Vlogs in a row yeaah! Thank you so much - love watching vlogs at this time of year - feels so cozy
Gorgeous is certainly right. The pies and the books all sound great Liz.
Oh warmed by heart, the clip in the car ❤
I have a friend who used to eat a different brand of mince pie every day of advent and Greggs always came out on top 🥧
Beloved is heartbreaking! quite a beautiful and devastating read for me and for the heart of America. i'm overdue for a reread of it. if you haven't yet, The Bluest Eye is exceptional! and it's her debut!

Literally need a channel just for your mince pie reviews 🥰😘🤣
I'm an American who has never once tasted a mince pie but I loooovvvee your reviews
sprouts! lol
Loved the mince pie update/chart as much as the book update. Can’t wait for more.
Lovely vlog :D
you look like Sally Rooney in the thumbnail 🥹❤️
What a wonderful video!
your content is truly getting me through this winter
I feel you should do an entire video of the reviews, like testing basics for mince pies 😂. Also, my wake up light is a life saver in the winter 👏🏻
Aldi and Lidl mincepies are some of the best
The mince pies... the soft launch... love ❤
So glad you loved the Greggs mince pies! I’ve recommended them to you the last 2 years since I found them …I’ll never go back 😉
A mince pie taste test that would b up my street to enjoy 🌻
You have to try Finks mince pies if you’re in the Highbury area!!! The best I’ve had yet 🥧✨
loving the long book chats!!!
Your videos are my all time favourite! ❤️
Yasss so happy you loved the Greggs mince pies!! They're my ultimate fave ❤
I’ve got ‘My Friends’ by my bed, can’t wait to start it soon
The Greggs mince pie is vegan friendly, which means it is made with vegetable fat - the others are made with butter. The vegan sausage roll from Greggs is really very good too!
Ooooo this is such good mince pie insight!!! Thank you!
I love how all the comments are about mince pies 😂 MY PEOPLE. Although I will say, can’t beat my mums homemade, maybe I should send you a couple to include 😂😂
We have created a VERY special community 😂
Love the Greggs mince pies,I prefer the flatter type and pastry 😊
Were also gonna need Lidl 😀 and possibly a Morrisons
Love your Mince Pie tasting test!……….🤗🇨🇦
Watching this really started off my day in a good way. Love your content especially the books!!❤
If you enjoyed Beloved, I highly recommend Sula as your next Toni Morrison read. Easily one of the most phenomenal books I have ever read!
The grey sweater you are wearing for the book review is *stunning*! I could not find it in the description box, do you mind sharing where you got it? Thanks!
Hi Lizzy! Could You make recommendations for shoes during winter? Always find it hard to find Nice looking shoes that are actually warm ☺️
Maybe the problem with re-reading is that we sell ourselves this idea that its about the book when really we want to feel like we did when we read that book for the first time. But thats not possible, because time went on and we are different now.. Just a random thought i had when i heard you talking. Lovely vlog as always! ❤️
this!
YES I think it is this!! The magic was not there for me the second time around!
@@LizzyHadfield Right its that magic we want!
Austerlitz is a masterpiece. Cannot recommend it enough!
I say belo-VED when I am using it as a noun - referring to a specific person eg, my belo-ved..... When I am describing someone or something (adjective), I say beloved, eg it was very beloved.
I am relieved you can use both pronunciations then and I hadn’t totally lost the plot 😂
@@LizzyHadfield, The book itself is pronounced belo-VED. (just so you know.)♥
I love the mince pie reviews. I love Christmas and your mince pie review is part of it. You are right though-impossible to find a mince pie in the U.S. Please, please, please read “Imajica” if you haven’t. One of my favorite books.
Asda was the best mince pie I've tried yet
oh no, could you post a list of your mince pie ratings in the info box or as a pinned comment please? my hearing isnt so well so I cant catch all the brand mentioned. but I understood that Greggs was very yummy ha! (also the shoe brand you said in the first clip, what was it again?)
Not sure if you’ve done this in the past, but I would love to know your all time fav books!
Brilliant book review descriptions, thanks
Angelnumber 10:10 on the lamp🥰
Geeez I actually am so invested in this mince pie review! Next year can you do a blind taste test and Lindsey can serve 😂
I very much liked the book part❤
Thank you for the tip to read Beloved sentence by sentence. I tried reading it a while ago and didn't get far into it, you're making me want to give it another chance.
I do recommend trying it again. It’s very rewarding
A mince pie connoisseur if you will
commonwealth by ann patchett is phenomenal (everything i wanted the corrections to be), but tom lake is also wonderful
huge fan of all of your vlogs, but the videos around this time of the year (not the biggest Christmas fan either…) with the mince pies and everything else is just t h e absolute ! best! ❤❤❤

it's belove-ed I've listened to Toni Morrison reading it and that's how she says it
I love the book content. I don't like mince pies. So I'd love separate book content 😅. I love outfits and outings though!!!!
OK but can you make a mince pie chart. A spectrum of sweetness and pastry dominance lol. What are your thoughts on Lottie Shaw's?
I haven't tried Lottie Shaws, and yes to the mince pie chart, we need to make this more scientific
@@LizzyHadfield just realized the chart has to be 'a pie chart' lol
Hi Lizzy, may I know what camera you use for the vlog? Thank you!
Pret mince pies are 💯 a must try!
hey lizzy! Have you read any rachel cusk? I think you might enjoy “second place” and “aftermath” by her! Also, I don’t know if you’re into poetry, but I recently read “averno” by louise glück and it was absolutely beautiful

I wish these small pies were a thing here in Canada. I'd definitely go for one with my tea right now.:)
Just discovered M&S best of mince pies in the bakery section 💯 Another one to add to the list!
The Mr Kipling Bramley apple and blackcurrant mince pies from ASDA are my current favourite. They’re delicious. Have you tried them before?
I’ve always heard Beloved with the -ed stressed. Someone else recommended Sulu which I second, and also recommend Jazz
LOVE the high neck knit you wore during book reviews, do you have a link?
It's from Everlane: www.everlane.com/products/womens-cloud-oversized-turtleneck-new-heather-grey?collection=womens-sweaters
Do you not heat your mince pies before eating, makes them so delicious.
I do, and have them with brandy butter! But for the purposes of the test, best to eat them all cold
Brandy butter?! Woooow, how did I not know about this
Neuromancer is SO GOOD. It’s basically what The Matrix was based on-enjoy!
Where are your shoes from?
I love your kettle! Where is it from?
love ☕
Who is the artist of the painting in your spare bedroom?
now i know i need to get a mince pie along with my vegan sausage roll at Greggs (im veggie not vegan, so don't worry) i really like tesco's own mince pies, and i thought maybe you could try Lidl!
I got some Lidl ones but they’re tiny so I feel not a fair test! Hope you love the Greggs one too
Hello Lizzy. What size are your Saman Amel shoes?
UK7/EU40! xx
@ Thank you ☺️
Okay okay YES i also find the Greggs mince pies are the best - AND they're vegan! :)
I live in Switzerland but go to England every end of year as my lover is english and I always end up buying so many boxes of Greggs mince pies :') Buuut just like you i need to try a bit of everything, you know just to make sure about the differences and stuff. I had never tried a mince pie before having a british boyfriend but oh my i could not imagine my life without them anymore haha. English food is absolutely underrated.

Isn’t it a fruit mince? You said mince meat and I almost fell over! I always thought it was fruit mince (it is here anyway!)
it's fruit yeah 😂 no real meat!
Yes they have Gail's all over Manchester now, thank god ❤
wait do these pies have meat? WHAT?
Loving the mince pie reviews 🤎 truly doing gods work. I recommend the Morrisons bakery deep filled mince pies 🥧
