It's cool that you enjoyed the Death Korps of Krieg. There are a couple of short films online about them as well as their own song that shows a glimpse of who they are. I would recommend taking a look if you are ever interested.
It doesn't make sense the Vader very surprised remember this dude has the Stormtroopers as well as the Clones at one point he was a commander he would be surprised yeah see people who basically don't care about their lives would even shock a veteran like him but also will it really shocked them enough for him to be wide-eyed

I agree with you one hundred percent too little life is in characters yes i know it takes a lot more time to express, but the better the quality, the better the benefits of the product
