In case you were wondering Grey it's hard to shoot and kill your enemy when his head is in a trench as well and the large patch of mud and barbed wire obstacles was known as No Mans Land, and when you saw that one soldier get his blown off at the beginning he poked his head a little too high and a sniper caught him, back in WW1 trench warfare more soldiers died from diseases than combat.
The People of gate are so lucky that literally none of these other universes came across hell I'm pretty sure bloodborne and Dark Souls will give them a run for their money and they're quite similar
Elden Ring, where one invalid demigod is beating mother****ers to death and holding the literal sky in place without a functioning frontal cortex, after being infected with super death fungus.

"Something feels off about these soldiers" Probably because they are the only soldiers that are actually happy, or even overjoyed about being where they are.
Shovel is a good weapon of choice. During 1st World war was shovels use in close quarters combat as axe and mace. Modern entrancement tools have even a steel teeths and you can use them as saw. And bayonets well during 16th century flintlock muskets replace crossbows and by adding a new bayonets they replace pikes to. Old muskets and even rifles was around 2 meters long with bayonet. Kare formation used during 17-19century was a technically pike square formation to defend yourself against cavalry. You basically make a combined formation with one weapon.
A bayonet is literally just an attachment that turns a rifle into a (vaguely awkward) spear. Never forget the classics. This one can just also shoot you.
Forgotten Weapons has a great video where he and another guy go over the various melee weapons used in WWI. Their main point is that a bayoneted rifle is next to useless in close-quarters.
Ah, knight Grey Co Aldo. A toast to your younger brother-in-arms Norma, a noble man who fell alongside militians at Italica. A noble fighting and dying amongst peasants and townsfolks. May the Gods grant him a fair stay in the afterlife.

As good as ever. I was thinking, since the characters of Gate lack information about the universe of 40K, why don’t you make them react to videos dedicated to the topic of the channel The Templin Institute? They are explained well and simply, and may even interest other viewers. Now I threw it there, then your choice. Anyway, good work as always and the Emperor protects.
Most delightful and terrible, the victory of the corps is the victory of the corpses. No matter when or where, they, like the Astartes, will die. The guardsman always has a chance for a peaceful life, a small chance, but there is one. But it is not the death corps nor the Astartes that have that hope, they will all eventually die in battle on a distant planet protecting unknown people for the sake of the emperor and the Imperium. This is the victory of the corpses
Great video also can you make them react to "his angels" by 56 scratches ( so they could see the more Humane side of 40K and the reason why the salamanders are my favorites chapter of space marines) if you want of course
Loved the video @~Eriana Foster~! Can't wait for the next video! To Laila and GATE, this is the Death Korps of Kreig in a Nutshell for you. We the fighting comes to close quarters, you can always trust the Kreig Boy's to pull out their Shovels/Entrenching Tools to keep fighting. Also, First video of yours and loving the content! Have they reacted to the Warhammer 40K AMV for Sabaton's "Attack of the Dead Men"?
I’m what people call hardheaded. And considering how much I’ve learned about the Krieg, I’ve already deduced what one might respond with to something Grey said in the video. 3:31 “Charging into battle when you have ranged weapons is incredibly foolish.” - Grey. “You know what is truly foolish? Not pressing the Enemy when their pants are down.” - Probably an average response from a Death Krieg Commander.
The trench shovel is the peak of advance weaponry, they are the reason why The Death Korps always victorious...that and all the suicidal charges and artilery that follow their advance
I think the concept of these is pretty fun and cute. Though if there was one thing i would love to see more, its them commenting more. on things that they would i feel like comment on. Like for example the servo skull.
The oldest infantry weapon in human history has always been the spear. A bayonet just turns a rifle into a short spear. And the shovel is an old WW1 trick, where soldiers would sharpen the edges of their entrenching tools to use as axes for creating fortifications, or as frighteningly effective melee weapons.
If the Gate opened on a Hive or city world, the Saderan legions would probably get away with their looting and plundering for maybe a couple of weeks before the planetary governor realised that this was something more than just another minor riot and called in the PDF. If the gate opened on a feral world, the Saderans might be able to conquer some land and subdue the local "barbarians"... Until the sky lights up with "shooting stars" and they realise that the weird "Sky Emperor" god and his "Destroying Angels" the locals won't shut up about are real... If the gate opened on Krieg itself, the Kriegers would be very disappointed, because the Saderans would be dead from radiation poisoning before they even entered combat!
I love your animations and you should have them react to a lore video on the kriegsman or at least the song by stringstorm because it kind of explains why they don't care about the dead squad
Okay two things one, Shoves were weaponised in WW1 so that they were sharp enough to kill and war hammer does the same if not worse, two charging when you have long rang weapons in not foolish cause unless your advancing all your doing is killing a man every now and then and wasting resources, That's why they charge to get in close, take land, defensive and ground while killing a lot of the enemy at once. Btw bayonets are useful in close range battles cause its a psychological warfare plus enemy is so close why not just stab them and save a bullet.
nobody survived the kriegsmen charge :) but did she really just question a KRIEGSMAN WITH HIS SHOVEL? thats is the most dangerous thing on the battlefield!
Don't discount shovels. In WWI Germans preferred them for hand-to-hand combat. They don't get caught in ribs like bayonets do. They can smash a skull in a helmet. Back in the day I used to practice with a shovel on occasion.
Death Korp of Kreig...they do not consider dying as a bad thing. They consider it a duty since their world tried to revolt against the Imperium 500-ish years prior, that led to a 500-ish civil war. The loyalists won and they must repay the Imperium for the dishonor of their world rebelling.
I think it would shake up these character to know that these soldiers are not men but merely young boy who are barely 18 so young but so will to die as punishment they themselves saw fit for betraying the emperor

Sometimes the Emperor delivers his judgment with a maelstrom of artillery. Other days, it's a shovel.
Both are equally effective at digging mass graves, so of course. Sometimes, you have to deliver the notice of termination personally.
Who are we to judge the Emperor's will?
Sometimes if your lucky you get both
*entrenching tool*
