This definitely helped. Other things I’ve done to help other watching this is changing resolution to 1080p and if you have it make sure you connect to your 5ghz WiFi not the 2.4ghz

It's in WiFi settings pal just press the start button over your connected wifi the option to use 2.4 or 5ghz appears @@johannsmith8109
You don't need to use 5Ghz. 2.4 Ghz has enough throughput and has better reception compared to 5Ghz. Most people experience latency issue with 2.4 Ghz because of their router setting, not because of the band. 5Ghz is worse for people living in cities with multiple ASes nearby.

Should this be done in addition to changing resolution to 1080p?
All advise is good advise, but it gets better every firmware Sony has put out, I’m down to an occasional stutter now, Sony will fix it like they always do. For the most part, mine runs fine, its such a great gaming experience,

So i have Xfinity internet, and i paused some devices that i dont commonly use as well as disabled that HDCP or whatever it is, and that seemed to fix it. Im thinking the more devices you have connected to your wifi, the more your portal will lag.
My PlayStation five currently has two users and when I turn my PlayStation on, I have to select who’s playing before I get to the home screen. Would I need to disable this to use remote play?
My PlayStation Portal says gameplay is not being recorded when i attempt to make clips by pressing the share button also said it wont record the gameplay. Please a fix would be appreciated

I'm scared to see what the latency in 2K looks like in actual multiplayer modes. 2K has the worst lag I've ever experienced in a game in my life
Yeahhh… I don’t recommend playing online for that reason because even on console the time delay is about 2-3 milliseconds. On the portal you will see about 5-6 milliseconds of a delay 😂
So turn 1080 on and 60fps pn ps5 and the problem is fixed?

That’s works as well! Just know that the monitor might still turn on when you’re away.

There’s a ps remote play app and I’m pretty sure there’s a setting in there to toggle don’t interrupt tv when using remote play….
I just got mine I did the same thing and still got delayed

@adamleonpeters good question, it's both actually. If your router is outdated and service provider give you only 100-200mbs per sec download speeds. Then trying to connect to your ps5 with the portal while there's other smart devices (tv's, tablets,phones) connected it will eat away internet bandwidth quickly. Talking from experience. Hope this helps!
Change your resolution that might help. Your portal is a 1080p trying to run 4k that might cause a bit of an issue. It’s like trying to run the highest quality on a shitty video card. Hopefully that will work. Then after upgrade your router.

As long as I have a my internet wired to my PS5 my Portal plays flawless and it turns on my Sony Inzone monitor.
That definitely helps with lag. Most people don’t really have the luxury to hardware so having a great router and turning off this settings helps significantly!

Technology moves along and gets updated very fast now.
You've probably owned the same router for a couple of years.
Generally, routers are something that does not need replacing or updating unless it dies or you specifically need to.
Quick summary.
Internet service providers can and do provide routers to their customers when they sign up.
But these routers are made for them at the cheapest price.
Basically they are cheap pieces of shit.
Most internet problems are because the routers being cheap pieces of crap.
Want a good quality buy a netgear, TP-link, Asus.
All of this said though it all comes down to your budget and how many devices you have at home.
I honestly wish the Nintendo Switch had better graphics and the size of the PlayStation portal along with making the joy cons feel like the DualSense

Good question, the PS5 has to be in rest mode. Once the portal wants to connect the PS5 it’ll have to turn on in order for you to connect and play your games.

I have the first ps5 ever created from thr first batch and i remember back then they said the rest mode was bricking certain ps5s from the first batch. U think im safe? My portal should be here on the 6th. Guessing i have to start buying digital games because all my games are physical 😔
What are ideal speeds for the portal? Upload and download? Mine is 600 dl and 120 ul. Is there a noticable input lag? Or are multiplayer games unplayable because of il.
I have 780-820 download and 28-32 upload. There is input lag, even after messing around with all this "fixes" in settings. I wouldn't recommend portal to competitive fps games but, would recommend for casual 3rd person games like DmC, SpiderMan, GOW and stellar blade.
with the new update I got 4 killz on call of duty never could before ...
What is your Internet upload speeds? Xfinity is kinda crappy with upload speed
My speeds are 545 upload and 35 download. I recommend getting a asus wifi 6 gaming router which can be found in the description of my videos! 🫡🔥🎮
I do that as well and I just disconnect my HDMI just to be safe.

I just tried this setting but my tv is still turning on when I use my Portal. Any ideas? Do I have to hit that setting then reboot?

I also had this problem since I have monitor as well. Check the settings inside your monitor to make sure there’s no HDMI pass through remote control settings enabled. Also when the monitor turns on manually turn off the monitor. This worked for my Samsung monitor!

I bought a ps portal, but I am confused. Can we acess ps5 using portal when console is completely is rest mode or should it be turned on like normal to have access? The reason why I am asking is because I can use my portal only when my console is online than on rest mode. Please help. Thank you
No you can access the ps5 from the portal in rest mode but not in off mode

Nope you need to have a password! Check at the back of the internet router for the password.

Nope, it’s like the same experience because I always had a great internet connection at home. I don’t even hardwire my ps5 to my router.
I don't know how people are having this problem. If I turn on my PS5 with the controller that's the only time the TV turns on. It never turns on with the portal. Doesn't even light up

That happens, all you have to do is unplug your monitor and PS5 from the power outlet. After this should fix it! Hopefully this works
This won't work at all the only way to stop lagging and improve the performance is good wifi an Internet cable and wifi boosters

I personally don’t. never had any major issues with micro stuttering since I’ve used this settings only! The Asus WiFi 6 gaming router is main reason why remote play works great even when I’m on another WiFi network away from home.

Make sure you unplug your ps5 and tv after. This helped me when it was still happening.

Why doesn't sony just make steam deck....the "playdeck" "staydeck" ....anyway....a handheld that can run their games along with cloud save file systems so we can pick up where we leave off.

The ps5 or the portal It doesn’t have Bluetooth.
@@TechMarkGaming ofc the PS5 has Bluetooth, you disable it on the PS5 settings for radio interference check in accessories settings on the PS5.
