Just got my VPL slide kit....apparently I put the VP9L slide on the frame wrong and its stuck and can't get it off. Pretty sure I didn't put it on the rails right....Any suggestions? I may have to bring it to my local gunsmith
Yes if you ride the slide home slow. The USP Tactical and Elite with the O-ring do it too. Once it’s got a few hundred rounds and some oil it’s less noticeable.
@@ALIRStudio87 Nope just a tight tolerance match gun 👍. I haven’t had it happen on the VP, but on the USP’s it’s possible to limp wrist the gun and with weak ammo the side can stop on the O-ring. Just something to watch for while it breaks in. After 500 rounds and cleaned/lubed I wouldn’t worry about a thing.
They ship the 2021 version from the Webshop. Optics ready cut with “suppressor height” XS big dot tritium front and u notch rear. Previous versions had sights that were not tall enough to cowitness with optics. The 2020’s came in several different styles from 3 dot to fiber optic to adjustable rear- no choice just depends on when you ordered or got the kit or full gun.
Yes it’s a full conversion as the only differences between the 9 and 9L are with the upper slide assembly and detachable 20rd magazine. Frame is identical.
Quick question , I have same kit , and first and few I rack it , it seems it gave slight space in back ..... didn't fully front in, are u have this as well ? Before start shoots and - in?
The slide doesn’t go all the way forward? If you’re just releasing the slide by hand it may not have the force necessary to get over the barrel o-ring. Shoot a few mags through and see if it still does that.
@@HughesEnterprises correct didn't go all the way but if fully rack it does ... most time.. but ther spacing some times , did some with dry fire , it does... I felt.it is defect
@@Newbenwindowcleaningcom this isn’t a normal pistol slide. It is a match grade hand-fitted barrel and slide with an additional o-ring on the barrel. It’s going to be tight and you need to oil it and shoot it to break it in.
They’ve got their own serial number range that’s different than the gun. But the long slide and barrel are serial matched to each other. Longslide kit has a 238- prefix, my old VP9 is 224- prefix.
@@mnrodriguez Unless NJ has some really strange new law the only part of a pistol that is a gun and is regulated is the frame. The slide and barrel are not regulated parts in the US.
VP9’s are hardly budget guns, but spending $400-500 on the equivalent of a Glock type conversion gimmick is not worth it. Could of purchased a CZ Shadow 2 (far-far better), or a USP for about the same total cost (VP9 with kit). Upgrading an HK means buying the next one up the latter. All said, the long slide does looks cool, though. Great video!
But when you’ve already got all the $600 in spare VP mags it makes a little more sense than filling a new .50 Cal can with CZ mags. Plus I’ve already got a couple normal USP’s and a USP Elite .45 with match weight for real target work. They do sell the VP9L as a complete gun for people without a frame but last time I saw one it was $950. Like you’re saying, that’s USP money.

I’m not sure how that could have happened, is it stuck locked back, midway, on an angle, not on the rear rails etc?
@@HughesEnterprises thanks for reply I got it! It wasnt seated on the rails properly, honestly dont even know how I did that but all good now!
Is it normal for the slide gets a little stuck on the O-ring? I just got mine seems it’s doing that.

Crazy question/ idea. I have heard some say that slide cuts create malfunctions. Care to repeat the water test with the long slide?
No, I can guarantee they will cause issues. Gaping holes added to a slide assembly is for competition guns, not ones for combat.
Do they ship the 2021 when you order from the hkwebshop? Hk web shop description says it is the 2020 version

Question, I'm fairly new to fire arms. Does this kit fully convert the VP 9 to the Vp9L? Or is there other noticeable differences?
Yes it’s a full conversion as the only differences between the 9 and 9L are with the upper slide assembly and detachable 20rd magazine. Frame is identical.

How does it work with the serial number? Do they match it to your original gun? Where did you get it? Thanks!

I bought the conversion kit and some 20 round mags two months ago, now I have a match gun, two guns in one.
