I was very sad when she died. I grew up with her songs as all French ppl. She had a very sad and unfair life, she lost a friend, lost her husband, lost her daughter (in the 90's). It always makes me sad.

Serge was bad, man. Apparently her brother went off his dish at her for singing flat too. I think the first version is perfection: there’s apprehension there which aids the delivery which is un-coachable. Extraordinary all round really.

She felt exploited as Poupée..., just like Les Sucettes, has a double meaning and it's basically about Gall being a puppet controlled by the adults in the industry and singing about things she has no idea about. The lyrics are quite poetic and genius, but it must've hurt her when she fully understood them.
