    Great Videos as always Joseph. Why do you prefer to model in Sketchup over Revit? To me, since Enscape “syncs” with Revit it makes sense to stick to Revit, why do you model in Sketchup? Higher modeling techniques? Thank you as always!

    • @JosephKim
      @JosephKim  3 роки тому +1

      It just depends on the task and project :) tweaking geometry for furnitures and changing material is a bit easier. But I prefer drawing methods of Revit.

    Another excellent work. I have been using Enscape for over a year now. The problem that I had with proxies was,First I was importing the object, then copy and paste in place it into another SketchUp file and Proxy it into the original file. But "Saving it as an external reference for Enscape" will save ton of time and energy :)
    I also didn't know that enscape uses geolocation for precise shadowing. Thanks for this video. Looks like I have ton of quality video to watch :D

    Great videos Joseph. I'm new to Enscape having migrated from Vray and these are helping a lot. I am finding my Quest 2 setup very buggy and jittery in Enscape via the proper Link cable even though I get 2.6Gbps bandwidth and have an AMD Ryzen 9 3900 12 core processor and 16g ram. I am thinking it might be the Quadro P4000 card that is the issue but cannot find a solution. Any clues?
    But thanks anyway if no idea. Great tips.

    • @JosephKim
      @JosephKim  2 роки тому

      Yeah, I don't think P4000 is cut out for VR. It does have large VRAM, but for Enscape, you want faster performance too.

    • @PalindromeDesign
      @PalindromeDesign 6 років тому

      Thanks. When selecting the Albedo option it just opens a Browser. What content am I saving to a folder and what is the best place to find them for Sketchup? Like tile maps, burnished metal...reflective glass textures. I'm a lighting designer by trade. I was pretty good with the basics of Lightscape 20 years ago but fell out of it when Autodesk buried Lightscape in VIZ and made it a rendering specialty.

    • @PalindromeDesign
      @PalindromeDesign 6 років тому +1

      BTW, I love the Enscape "Outlines" tool. A subtle amount bridges that gap between a conceptual image and "too literal" photorealism.

    • @JosephKim
      @JosephKim  6 років тому

      Check this article by Dan, enscape3d.com/best-practices-albedo-in-architectural-design/
      In short, I believe albedo is trying to pull just an image (jpg) as material base.
      And I cannot agree more with the outline. Is one of the reason I love Enscape so much.

    • @PalindromeDesign
      @PalindromeDesign 6 років тому +1

      Thanks! I'll check it out. It's a phenomenal design tool. I layer up my lighting options, turn the layers on or off for different combinations, dim the sources down up or down, instant return. I have noticed I am not getting a soft light as if through a frosted glass source. They seem to be uniformly literal sharp cutoffs. Any suggestions to make the light fade more realistically, or must I use specific IES files?

  • @francescodilecce7189
    @francescodilecce7189 5 років тому

    Is it possible doing the same in Lumion? Or exporting the enscape file you created (360° img included) in Lumion to complete the job with a more realistic result?

    • @JosephKim
      @JosephKim  5 років тому

      The changes that you make inside Enscape material library or exe, 360 panorama will not translate to Lumion. Just what is on SketchUp it will understand

    Hello, I've learned a lot with this tutorial and I even managed to do some work with 360 ° images to serve as a background for my projects. However, most of the time I can not frame the perspective on the image because it moves up and down and invariably the design never reaches the correct height of the floor.
    Is there any way to facilitate this work without having to do post production in a program like Gimp or Photoshop?
    Thanks.
