Bee Gees got to play that guitar rhythm in open D tuning that is what makes the Bee Gees sound at its root. Bee Gees song start with that rhythm and than all the other instruments and arrangement are built around it.

Hi Tim, that is an Epiphone, Masterbuilt DR 500 MCE. I don’t think they make these anymore, but I love this guitar. My only criticism is the electronics. I’ll probably upgrade.
Watch Piers Morgan's Life Stories Barry Gibb on you tube. He performs this song at the end. Clearly open tuning. Not trying to discredit anyone. Just curious as to how he played it. Good video though.
