The scary thing is with Lou he might be able to. Say what you will about his training system, but his gym (whether they follow his system or not) creates a shit ton of strong people.
How can you be so strong, without doubt the greatest bench presser in the history of mankind yet still be so down to earth and humble, you said in this seminar that people tell you that you inspire them, the thing is your inspiring them people in many ways, not just in terms of training, and your doing it by just being your self, your a wonderful human being, coming from a man on the other side of the world, god bless you brother

Nope. He’s fine as long as he’s careful. My bench was 135lbs and my deadlift wasn’t 250lbs from 11 - 12 years old and I’m fine. I’m just under 6ft tall and I’ll be 46 this year. I started martial arts and calisthenics at 6 years old and free weights at 11.
WHAT A CLASS ACT! GOD BLESS YOU JULIUS! WHAT A TESTIMONY! NOT ONE CUSS WORD! LOUIE HAS A HEART OF GOLD AND MORE LIFTING KNOWLEDGE THAN ANYONE! THANKS FOR SHARING THIS GENTLEMAN!
@Avingay Anfordstay yeh westside has became more about equipped lifting but back in the day raw wise they were the strongest m’fers around. They were all strong af. Louie even days himself they were stronger back in the day than their current lifters.
Idk why I have never left a comment when I have seen mass of your videos. So I was a respectable bencher in high school and college with my max being around 460-475lb and rep sets 4 sets c 6 reps at 405 lb. Due to incessant shoulder injuries playing OG at UC and lifting heavy without warming up correct led to a premature end to a relatively successful final junior year starting every game andHumanitarian Bowl victory. I never was able to play football at that level again after degenerative shoulder joint, labrum, and torn rotator cuffs and compounded calcium deposits that exacerbated it all. I digress you know a little about me now. Just wanted to say ai have mad respect for your work, great positivity, Christian Worldview and redemption message, and your refusal to forget the dark place in life you crawled and finally lifted yourself out of! I would appreciate it if you could answer a perplexing question that’s been irking my brother I’m law and myself and caused much healthy contentious discussions between us! My, no our inquiry concerns your last powerlifting meet: you broke your old PR and WR (771 lb former WR) I believe by hitting an easy ( I meant easy for you bro) 1rep press w/ am inconceivable 782 lb. Here is the crux that of our familial dispute: I could not comprehend why wouldn’t you hit your goal after the way that 782 lb flew up like a feather after a bottomed out rep followed by a tangible pause at the chess. Pure power, 782 no kinetic energy used from the weight coming down - static delay 782 lb total work of movement needed due to stop and 2 sec chest pause. So my brother in law didn’t think you could’ve gotten the 800lb after throwing up the 782 easy. I beg to seriously differ. Could you please reply to my comment and resolve our friendly discussion, and the truth is I really am curious about the truth and if I was right about the fact that you could’ve put up 800lb at your past power lifting meet? If I was wrong I still want to know, and lastly seriously Big Jul if my instinct and experience of lifting weights and observation was off cool, but if you believed like I did when I watched the 782 lb fly up why wouldn’t you hit your 800lb DREAM, when much could transpire between your last meet and your announced next official attempt of 800lb BP @ a power lifting meet in June approximately 4 months after that impressive day at the power lifting meet when 782lb. took flight vertically?
Julius already knows he has 800 in him, but he is waiting to do it on a huge stage rather than a hole in the wall gym. You saw him pause and lift 98% of that with ease and he is already doing static holds with 820lbs. Your brother in-law better prepare for the shock of his life come June.
“Identify a weak point, and attack it” I’ve been telling my gym bros this for years. Everybody ask me all the time how do i get so strong and what program do i follow. I tell them i build up all my weaknesses. That’s my only training method.
“You’re 400lbs, you should be able to bench twice your body weight.” Really? When has that guy ever existed? Sometimes people just project their insecurities onto others.
@@thorwannabe6810 - It’s simple really. Ask anyone who makes an absurd comment like that to choose as many individuals between 500 and 1000+lbs as they want, then find one who can out bench Julius. Anywhere from 7-8 billion humans on the planet and billions more have died since I was born in 1975, yet he is the only one I have ever seen even do what he is doing regardless of bodyweight.
It’s pretty simple - your nervous system can only send the signals so fast, and muscle tissue is only so strong.... doesn’t matter how heavy someone is, humans are not limitless. But that’s OK... the person that says you should do XYZ might be benching twice their weight but they aren’t lifting 780pounds and no one cares about their lifts. Tell them to get to 400 pounds and bench the 800 if it’s so easy 😉
Very informative! People attending seminar get to pick the minds of " Brother Louie" Simmons and "Biggie Bench Press(BBP)" Julius Maddox concerning successful training methods. Topics include general conditioning, max effort application, setting up for bench press, identifying weak areas(and doing assistance exercises) to get stronger, working out with a purpose, ect. I am definitely going to re-watch this U-tube video a bunch more times.
@@Hankola certainly with the right guidance under someone like Scott Mendleson he could absolutely do it , providing he spent a year getting used to the bench shirt and hammering the triceps

Yes, thankfulness
