    Follow along as Chuck makes a simple card wallet that can be easily customized to meet your needs and fit your style!
    Many different types of leather can be used for this type of wallet, we would recommend using leather around 4 oz. in thickness with a little bit of body, so it keeps its shape.

    When Chuck said in a live that he made a bunch of demonstrative prototypes, he wasn’t kidding! 🤣 Loved the two tone basket weave inset.

    I've made many wallets, but they were all from patterns that I printed out. I really like Chuck's method. You make your own patterns, mark all the holes, and use your square to find all the measurements. And no computer needed, save the patterns for later. Simple and easy. I will try this wallet this weekend. Great tutorial, thanks!

      @@WeaverLeatherSupply Chuck, could you (please, please, please) make a video on making that amazing tool board that you have behind you. I started out a year ago and my tools are multiplying and it seems that I spend more time looking for a tool that I do working on my project ! Organization is key.

    A boot tray on top of the shelf to hold stains and dyes may help keep the leaks confined to the tray and not dripping or spilling over the edge.

    Great video! I'm in Tx and it gets ! hot here. Im out in it most of the day and my wallet never really dries except on the weekend and gets really nasty and moldy smelling. I cant find a wallet that lasts more than a couple months from the sweat and the bending breaks up my cards too. Do yall have a ANVIL tough wallet? I get tired of paying $40 to $50 for pretty junk that wont hold up more than a couple months? I admit Im hard on stuff, but I know I aint the only one out here working and having the same issue.

    Chuck: Question that comes up sometimes with making wallets. Is there a trick to add a clear vinyl window to leather? For a driver's license? Width of leather bezel? Stitch length? Type of vinyl. I want to add a window pocket to a wallet like the one you showed here. Thank you.

    Hi Chuck. Love the videos! Would you recommend any kind of tooling to 'force' a fold in the wallet? I know it will crease over time but I sense there is a risk that a 'natural' fold won't necessarily be even. Thank you from Ireland!

    • @WeaverLeatherSupply
      @WeaverLeatherSupply  3 роки тому

      Hi David,
      I've never needed to force fold any wallets or card holders so I can't say I would recommend it. You shouldn't have any trouble with the wallet wanting to fold crooked and it doesn't take long at all to get it to fold naturally - just some use and wear.

    Hello sir, can i have some advice? I got a vegtan leather that on the grain side (surface) is not smooth equally. The grain looks like it was sanded by machine because it has some linear line in a multiple spot. What can i do to make this grain side smooth equally? Does sanding it will help? Thanks before, sir. Your advice will help me to solve this problem🥺

    • @WeaverLeatherSupply
      @WeaverLeatherSupply  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Masih,
      We would not recommend sanding the leather on the grain side. This will remove the top layer and potentially ruin the leather. I really don't have a good answer for you on this as far as getting the lines out - you may need to either work around the lines or just embrace them and they will add character to the project.

      The pattern material is our plastic pattern sheet, we'll link it below. They are cut using a regular utility knife.
