As a old 74yr fisherman like you brought up in the UK fishing tiny streams and ponds, it was a wonderfully experience , now it seems from watching your films, it's all mostly club waters , managed fisheries over stocked ,over fished , and high protein baits . I understand that's it ,but it's very sad, that's how young anglers start out, not having the Joy's we had catching rising chub to cabbage white butterflies we netted and dappled under trees,or cheese cubes cast to sighted fish, still it's better than nought I surpose 😢. I'm lucky as I moved to Ireland years ago, and can continue with my childhood fishing here . Enjoy your films as you seem familiar in your old ways and make me smile.
Found your videos on UA-cam and I love what you do. You remind me of my late father . He always said to me that it's not the fancy tackle that catches you the fish it's the knowledge that you have that catches you the fish. And watching your videos bring back memories of me and my father going fishing. Thank you for that from Justin in West Midlands.
Brilliant video Graham as always. I always look forward to the course fishing videos. Just by watching you I can pick up loads of fishing tips. Thank you for showing me so much. Cheers Dave. 🎣👍🎣👍🎣👍🎣
Some great content once again Graeme, looks like you had plenty of action there. I know what you mean about the net size, I think it should be appropriate for the target species.
Thanks Graeme for another great informative vid. I also agree with you about the stupid rule of net size at some Venus, clearly they are only necessary if you are fishing for monsters which are few and far between . Cheers Jim
Thanks for sharing as always Sir. I always enjoy your shows and comment, I really do appreciate the information yourself, Grant and Wayne give. I learnt today thanks. Do you have any footage of traditional old mature lakes with Tench, Bream and old stocked Carp as opposed to a hole in the ground ? (Before you answer I know you do). Just asking :) Thanks
I have them in my old 35mm colour slide library, but most of the traditional waters have gone I am afraid. Its harder and harder to find some natural multi-species fishing that doesn't have Carp.
Quick tip with the method feeder, I buy the pre tied pva bag rigs (5" long) size 8 hooks that way I can fish small 12mm boiles or trimmed down 12mm wafters on the method. And because the pva bag rigs are tied with strong braid don't have to worry about carp snapping your hooklengths.
Thanks,I will look it up. I need a natural ,scenic Carp water for my overnights now OBH has closed..it will be sadly missed..but hopefully I can find another.
As a new subscriber and new to course fishing at age 69 I thank you for so much knowledge that you are providing to fellow anglers I will try your method for bream May I ask the size of your rod and reel that caught the pike but intended bream on this size of fishery what is the ideal line bs for brean ? Thanks will watch a few more 👍
Hello mate, wow sunshine, nice to see you, same here with the fishing not been for while, but off tomorrow to try and catch some silvers on a willing hurst fishery, its 650 achers 12 lakes, and about 40 minuinets spelt wrong lol oh and a new float rod 13 foot drennen paed a bit for it but well only live once, all the very best to you and your family.
Another great fishing video Graeme. I will be using some of this advice next week on a small lake near me. Is there a possibility of you writing another book ? I know you are a busy man but I am sure a lot of people would buy it. Thanks.
Hi buddy I’m new to your channel and new to fishing have you got any tips for fishing a natural pound iv had some fish out but seem to struggle to get tench and carp going as it’s not been feed for years ??
Feels like the lakes you can actually catch tench and crucians are vanishingly small. I lose count of the places I try out thinking they might be good for a tench - inevitably it's little carp after little carp.
Totally understand.I come from an era that remembers all the other species other than Carp. I do the occasional overnighter fishing for them but I couldn't possibly do it all the time...I need a mixture of species to keep fresh.
Yes indeed, but I only do a handful of overnighters,I couldn't do it all the time.I need other species...and of course the call of Saltwater is also strong...just need some decent settled weather.
I pretty much only use one boilie for hookbaits now,the hard version to avoid crayfish...All the other flavours get thrown in . I'm sure they are all wonderful but its like using your best Pike fishing lure...its hard to change when you find it productive. I have to say I try to use the dipping gravy stuff as well now,I even tried it last week sea fishing !!...Sardine bait on the hook, then put in the dipping juice, and I got fish !...even I was amazed,so will be using it again.
You don't really need to strike with the method feeder, it's a self hooking rig so if you strike you're more likely just to tear the hook out, more so with heavy rods. I've had double figure bream and tench to over 8lb on the method so it's definitely not just for match carp. Also if the depth of a carp net is bothering you, grab the bottom and pull it through the spreader block before tying a loose overhand knot
I often do that, but don't tie any loose knots, just tuck it in the "Y" of the spreader block .Then you net a fish,it pulls free and the net snags on bits of tree roots of branches on the lake bed.
I used to think catching them on a method feeder was impossible too but I have seen them being caught on boilies by carp anglers. Usually when they are retrieving their line to recast or check their bait is when the pike will strike. Its lure fishing without lures.
Commercials make up some of the most stupid of rules, but I guess they have to cater for the most stupid of anglers. Why not take both nets and use the one most appropriate for the size of fish, the other can sit by the side just in case. (handy man that Justin Case!)
Haha...nothing like a bit of bitching..How about zero after wetting, all done off camera. Catch a fish ,weigh it. Then there might not be a fish for hours and in the summer the weigh bag dries out so you need to wet the bag again, zero again ,and do that every few hours so its absolutely accurate. If you don't do that the weigh bag and scales police will come round and ask to see the scale certification . So probably best not to weigh any fish at all unless its close to a personal best . I wouldn't worry about it if I were you ,I don't bother fishing for Gerty the Thirty,or Bent Fin Freddie the Forty....I just go fishing to enjoy it. Luckily I am too old to worry about what size fish I am catching.I'll take anything and appreciate it.
@@TAFishing sorry I wasnt being bitchy. i love your programmes Graham. it's something different than any other fishing channels that do the same thing all the time.

Well Said Sir
Never tried cabbage whites as bait, but after what they did to my vegetable patch last year I think I might give them a go...
All of our rivers are terribly polluted by sewage now. Makes me so angry. The coast is the same unsafe to swim.

Mushroom farm ,ha..Great stuff Grahame again.
Another Totally Awesome fishing video Graeme!
Thank you Graeme. Original and still the best. Take care Sir 👍🎣🎣
Graham I spotted you in the 1994 Encyclopedia of Fishing this morning! Wasn’t 100% until I checked the acknowledgements. Great video too, all best!
thank you for reminding me there are hot dry sunny days in the UK to fish
Brilliant video Graham as always. I always look forward to the course fishing videos. Just by watching you I can pick up loads of fishing tips. Thank you for showing me so much. Cheers Dave. 🎣👍🎣👍🎣👍🎣
No problem, pleased any tips might help .
These are the videos that you do best imo. Brilliant.
Your videos always make me wanna go out fishing, might head up to the canal for the Bank Holiday morning
Could be worth a shot...good luck with it...still a day out by the water.
A pike on a pellet is a new one to me... I did once have a 3lb tench on a joey mackerel deadbait though.
I had a 22lb pike on a boilie from a river
And a 14lb pike from a canal on a boilie
And a 3/4 pike on a pop up boilie
All hooked in mouth
Some great content once again Graeme, looks like you had plenty of action there. I know what you mean about the net size, I think it should be appropriate for the target species.
Totally awesome video love watching

Its the huge depth of the netting that I don't understand....It snags on everything.
Really enjoyed watching

Sun!? What is this wondrous thing before our eyes

Thanks for commenting with the tip. I am sure it might help others as well.
Nice one 👍
Check out higher kingcombe next time you’re in Dorset it’s not a big carp venue but good all round fishing and great countryside.
Thanks,I will look it up. I need a natural ,scenic Carp water for my overnights now OBH has closed..it will be sadly missed..but hopefully I can find another.

I have not fished there for a few years now but always used to be consistent....Always did good a rod length out. Good luck with the trip.

No more books, I did write 16 I think, but just not the time any more with the filming and other work.
Excellent video - Thanks mate!
Nice one G Man
AHH the sun ☀️🌞 I miss that

As always top rod 🎣🎣🎣👏👏👏👏

No waves here mate!!🤣🤣
remember the old days when you considered carp, "going to the dark side" LOL
Yes indeed, but I only do a handful of overnighters,I couldn't do it all the time.I need other species...and of course the call of Saltwater is also strong...just need some decent settled weather.
I caught my first and only pike on a method feeder and pellet last year! not as impressive mind. I guess they too must like fishy pellets sometimes!
Might be the oil in the pellet,or maybe small fish nibbling the pellet and Mr Pike sees the activity and scoffs the lot..
I aways do well with a method feeder on wadmill
Its 39 deg here in Singapore. My leaders start melting😁😁
Are them cc more boilies as good as people are saying
Yes. Them and Sticky Baits
I pretty much only use one boilie for hookbaits now,the hard version to avoid crayfish...All the other flavours get thrown in . I'm sure they are all wonderful but its like using your best Pike fishing lure...its hard to change when you find it productive. I have caught jack pike upto 4lbs on worm and maggot.
Just like Milton pools fishery in Oxfordshire no bread etc
You don't really need to strike with the method feeder, it's a self hooking rig so if you strike you're more likely just to tear the hook out, more so with heavy rods. The pellet pike was an odd catch, it just shows you never know what's on the end of your line.
I used to think catching them on a method feeder was impossible too but I have seen them being caught on boilies by carp anglers. Usually when they are retrieving their line to recast or check their bait is when the pike will strike.
Its lure fishing without lures.
My brother? law works for CC Moore
Pike ??
Yes,its the long fish with teeth.
A pike on a pellet, what?
Could’ve been after a silver near the hookbait and hooked itself accidentally

Tell me your retired
Retired at 50..haven't stopped working since !!...
never ever seen him zero the scales. every fish is he has caught prob 3lbs lighter with that weighing bag he uses.
Haha...nothing like a bit of bitching..How about zero after wetting, all done off camera. Catch a fish ,weigh it.
