Well done Daniel! I have been looking forwards to this. Hmmm a question, When you swapped out the AP for HE you should have taken the HE round from the ready rack.....and put the AP shell in the rack? see the Switch round orders. Thanks for taking the time to run this game.....
Hi Ian! Thank you! You're right, the rules say that you take it from the ready rack. I find that quite od and guess that it's errata, as you could with 1 action just fire the main gun and take the new round from the normal ammo (it's just 1 action). I will try to confirm with the designer.
I’m playing the first campaign and I have some doubts- - when infantry gets off the truck, dug-in? if yes when? - +1 fires suppresses what’s it’s the meaning? it’s for the tank or for the enemy? - after I fire with 50 gun when I recharge? and how can I do it? - when I use +1 dyg-in? when the tank attack or when attack the infantry? - for me it’s difficult understand B2 modifier: which are for the tank and which for the ememies? and when? - how long the stoppage? one round or all mission? the manual is orrible…also the table. there are many things that are not clear
Infantry are dug in during attack and assault. Also on movement to contact on a roll of 3-6. It means the enemy is surpressed and rolled with a negative +1 modifier when firing at you. You only need to recharge the 50 if you roll "Stoppage" result. You only use the +1 dug in if enemy vehicles or infantry Are dug in. B2 is for both you and enemies. - stoppage is cleared each round as a free action from any crew member who is not issued another order.
Hi I don’t believe that a move command can be combined with a hull down command. I think you move with one command, and roll for IMM Then you seek hull -down and roll again for IMM. Although I’ll be happy if it is as you played it. You are allowed to combine angle the hull with a movement command.
See page 13 "Move to Hull Down. This command causes the driver to find a hull down position nearby. The range does not change unless the player desires to". I definitely "desired to change my range" since I was close to infantry :P
I also see that you commented about 5 actions but I can't find the comment so I will reply here: I am not sure why you think that? I moved back and tried to hull down (1 action) and I changed my gun load from AP to HE. That is a total of 2 actions. Cheers!

I enjoyed "Patton's Best" decades ago, and am just getting back into it. As I understand it, ATA is a re-do of PB. Don’t believe suppressed infantry can fire at you. Also, a second suppression reduces infantry a step level but not AT guns, which can fire at you while suppressed but with the -1 modifier. So, if you hit infantry with your first shot (step loss and suppression) and miss with the second shot with main gun, it causes a second suppression and the Infantry unit is eliminated
That's wrong I am afraid. Supressed infantry and AT guns can fire at you, but with a +1 die roll modifier. You are correct that second supression reduces infantry, and that a miss will supress them, and in case they are already supressed, force them to lose a step!
