HOW I USE THE DENMAN BRUSH | STYLING 2B/2C HAIR

  • In this video I'm showing you guys the best way to style my 2B/2C hair with the denman brush. This brush is a very popular tool to help style, shape and define curls. I find for me, it works best for giving me definition over volume. The denman brush also helps me with frizz control because my hair is dry and needs moisture and help to tame the frizz.

      I just bought my brush and loving it.. the perm didn’t work underneath my hair but the denman helped so much to curl and get the ringlets that i wanted..

    hey i naturally have 3a/2c hair, i would recommend using the denman brush first then going through and scrunching the mouse in (not raking). it really just helps to define the curls and lock them in while also avoiding frizz

      You can't define the curl/wave type when styled. It's not 2c/3a, it's still 2b/c.

      @@Lucy-yb7dy if you hair ringlets, even with a denmin brush it's not 2b. Many people's hair does not define without styling, their hair is not magically straight.

It really helps that you included several techniques and some great tips. :) It can be misleading at first when someone with naturally coily hairy just glides the Denman brush through their hair and they get those gorgeous curls. I have naturally curly hair but when it’s soaking and I try the technique, my hair is left straight. There’s no curl to take place. How?

  • @sscidral2
    @sscidral2 3 роки тому +6

    I think you should think about some layers cut to increase the curls and the volume! Your hair is clearly heavy.

      I’ve actually really been considering that!! I want more volume and shape. Thank you for validating this! 🙌🏼

    around how much time do you need for only the denman brush ( i don’t include the time you apply the products ) i’m basically asking how much time you need to use the denman brush on the whole head

    I don't have this brush yet but I did order it, but how is it possible that I always have frizzy hair?

    • @ByKristinaStudio
      @ByKristinaStudio  3 роки тому +4

      It could be a lot of reasons! My first instinct would be to say you need to add styling product in soaking wet hair. If it's frizzy when it's wet, it'll be frizzy when it's dry. It's also super important to do deep conditioning treatments etc. to help improve damaged hair! Not sure what yours is like personally - but just some thoughts! 😊

    You got an s shape at top of length of hair and a ringlets at the bottom coz u only curl the bottom. U should start curling from top to bottom with Denham brush babe so it's even ! That's what I do.

    • @ByKristinaStudio
      @ByKristinaStudio  3 роки тому +1

      LOL as I’m styling the top layers of my hair dries quickly since I style soaking wet. But for it to fully dry (like my entire scalp) it takes a while since I have so much hair. Didn’t mean to contradict myself 😝

  • @Sylverose89
    @Sylverose89 3 роки тому

    damn, that's like what? 4 hours? D: the point of wavy hair is to let it curl to save time. Try spraying aloe vera juice in towel-dried hair and use the same drying technique. 15 mins max and done.

    • @pizzaminustoppingz
      @pizzaminustoppingz 3 роки тому +3

      There’s a point of having wavy hair...? The reason you style it with a brush is because some people have extremely undefined/frizzy hair, towel drying it will just enhance the frizz?

  • @musclecars60
    @musclecars60 3 роки тому +1

    Can't you literally do the same thing with any brush?

    • @Thelishanoelle
      @Thelishanoelle 3 роки тому +3

      If I remember correctly from other curly hair videos, I think this denman brush has a curve to it. When you drag your wavy/curly hair over this shape it helps curl it more. A bit like when you use scissors to curl ribbon on a gift

      @@sky19804 that’s okay. I know how it’s supposed to be used and I choose not to use it like that. When I do, it gives me very skinny spirals and as you can see, I like the chunky spirals and I can achieve that better with this technique. With curly hair styling, I feel like it’s all about what works for you 🙂
