When they used to be friends.
@dia Dia nah, Keenan had an eye infection and accused that Gordon's team was responsible for him contracting it and tried to get them all banned from ADCC back in January
@@TheLike_Button LOL. I'm really started to like bjj and will do my first class soon, based on what u said, I shouldn't keep changing dojo's right? They all have beef with each other?
GutharNBA not sure if this is sarcasm. If not, I’ll say that most rivalries are mostly from individuals themselves instead of gyms (except for 10P and the old school Gracies). As for gyms, find 1 that feels comfortable, safe, and friendly. Once you get to Blue or start competing, I would recommend branching out and attending Open Mats in other gyms. Just pay that mat fee and have fun with everyone there. Test yourself to see how well your training fares against other ppls training.
@@TheLike_Button damn I had no idea, thanks for the 411!
@@Bezmenov93 it really depends on many factors if changing dojos is good or not. some more traditional coaches will see it as betrayal especially if you aren't actually moving further away from the gym too. most wont say anything but you don't want people saying things behind your back in these places sometimes they tell people to go hard on you. Yes this still does happen a LOT. if you are training to compete professionally sometimes places have rival schools or they don't want you hopping around and giving out private training info on one of their fighters. Some people just really appreciate loyalty and hate those who dont have it.
the way i see it is we pay a lot of money per month for the classes. they decide when you get to train . they dictate the class structure and how you learn, they tell you what you have to wear too a lot of the time these days and its become much more like joining a team then it is going to a gym to work out. so there is nothing to be loyal too. its not like a traditional coach student relationship. you pay out the ass for you and you rarely get individualized attention. it think there is great benefit to gym hopping but i also saw how many perceive that as bad. could just be where im from
It's always a little weird to see Gordon Ryan in a gi.
It's weird now seeing Gordon and Keenan together
Like seeing your father wearing your mothers panties and bra, with his lover...
its from Tarik Hopstock, young very talented brownbelt training at Frontline Academy in Bergen, Norway.
Tarik=Tarikoplata
Whose bedroom is this, and was it considered the first date?
Were they having a sleepover? Why is Gordon wearing pyjamas!!! :'(
@@angrysalamanders their tongues were not social distancing at all
Keenan Cornelius is the kind of guy to submit Gordon Ryan in a gi because he cannot without... and release a sick submission instructional at the same time. Respect and thank you!
Keenan bringing that clickbait fire as usual. 10/10. Also, the technique is fairly slick as well.
Gordon ended up hitting this submission at NOGI Pans, nice.
Gordon is wanting to learn what all to look out for in the gi so he cut his way through the jungle and climbed the highest mountain to train with the lapel wizard haha, wise choice of training partners👍
The bromance is strong ❤️
Gordan Cornelius, it's official.
Corndan Rynelius
saulgoodman
Rynelius is an awesome nickname
Keenan Ryan
The guys name is Tarik and he is from Norway. Not the netherlands
Small world. I've rolled with the guy
I've rolled too. Crazy Stuff!
Whatever
Dude! Im a white belt been training for 3 months only hit 1 submission! Watched this video before bed listened to what you said about controlling the elbow before the wrist for the kimura/ameticana and I submitted 3 people with it this morning! Thank you!!!
Love your low key style Keenan. That's a tremendous move for the guys with so much muscle and power that they are immune to regular kimuras and armbars. I can see me using it as an option from a near side kimura grip so that I can threaten armbar/choke/kimura/tarikoplata.
I love your room set up with the couches and TV and Switch and mats in the middle for some casual rolling. Very nice
You'll never train with him again
Kimuroplata. Can be done also when the guy is escaping the armbar by pushing the leg that is over the head towards the arm, thus securing the same lock.
are these guys together?
Bob Salad they’re dating
"You're so fucking heavy" HAH
Historic moment of Keenan submitting Gordon, well done
friends part forever. wild geese, lost in fog.
Awesome, can’t wait to try this tomorrow at training . Awesome to see Gordon training gi with the best !
What games we playing on the switch Kennan?
Damn it.
gotcha
Keenan Cornelius I'm talking about the house! Damn, i need to be a badass black belt
Yo I'm the guy in the worm guard video from top team!
Jiu Jitsu Jesus i think the "older" name for this is Barato-plata.
You can hit it from many positions. Very strong.
@@ActionRan Baratoplata is different actually. Looks very similar at first glance though, easy mistake!
He learns so fast. I can't wait to see him competing in the Gi!
Still waiting lol

Congratulation bro !
Men I was waiting for this one, I wanted to learn how to get it from the guard.
"You're so fucking heavy"
Tarikoplata! Great move. It's been my new favorite lately
Looks like a Barataplata
Reverse Baratoplata.
Tarikoplata
Seeing Gordan Ryan is a Gi is like seeing Chuck Liddell with out facial hair.
Hi, I dondt understand why would you fall back and roll from the possition on 2:30 if we end up in the same possish on 3:57 . Can you explain that a lil bit pls. Ty
Good question
It is more effective to finish when he falls back. More safe by having a better position and being in more control. The only thing Gordon can do is roll and he is showing what to do if that happens. Jiu-jitsu is all about control and having better position. Manipulating your opponent to do what you expect them to do and countering that. If he does roll you just come up on top again and rinse and repeat, or you can try to finish when on top like he showed. It is just showing 2 ways of finishing, and the first one is probably the more ideal way to finish it. You could also catch someone in a tarikplata off your back, and it shows the only thing they can do to defend and how to counter it and remain in control. Shows all the possibilities.
If you can, you stay on top. If he rolls you, you should keep the grip and then come back on top for the finish.
So you're not supposed to fall back. It's just not lost if you do.
Bad ass move. Thanks
Gordan looks like someone payed him to wear the kimono and he desperately wants to take it off. Lol all jokes aside great vid
That's the only way you can submit him keenan
and the Only way Ryan can submit Keenan is with NO GI so?!
I really love watching Keenan's less gi-reliant techniques
Two Badass Grapplers in one video. 🤙🙏
Sick!
0:51 from side control
4:23 from bottom
Agora vamu pra porraaaadaaaa 👊🏻💪🏻😜🥋
Who's badass studio is this?!?!
amazing Keenan, you teach really great btw
i like it
tarikoplata
Andres? From Cassio's in Sac? That dude & I had some epic battles back when he was a white belt... He used to friggin' tap purple & brown belts (as a white belt) daily. So. Yeah. Don't know who this Keenan guy is. But, now I'm interested.
well played. all my clicks is you
youre the best ever
Thx Keenan - slick technique... Would you recommend going for a bicep slicer in conjunction with this? I find that it's tough to finish hwt (over 215lbs) with the omoplata...
You did what in a educational vlog ? Your hilarious 😂
you should call this the inverse baratoplata. lol
Better days...
I love the sportsmanship and honor in BJJ where people at the top cross train with each other. MMA mentality is like the Dark Ages and BJJ is like the Renaissance, lol.
Please, you just don't know what you are talking about. Jimi Manuwa went to train with Gustafsson after he took a beating. The same for Cowboy with Pettis, Meek with Usman, Saffiedine with Rory, and others.
I just don't understand this need from BJJ to look down on MMA and vice versa, especially when people talking don't know jack shit. We are all on the martial arts journey
Lol couldn’t be further from the truth
Oooh I though it said Gordon Ramsay
Sweet!
Good stuff!!
You got me! I also think you would if you guys competed
Gordon did this at pans the past weekend. He got the tap too.
You have 77,777 subscribers what a neat number.
This title should have told you not to trust this guy.
Looks like Gordon was so annoyed
gordon just hit this at no-gi pans
Certain details about set up reminded me of baratoplata, but still it's looks kinda different.
Has he got a mat in his living room? hahaha
A dude from Norway u mean? 😂 He is Norwegian bro.
That's a white belt Camera man for sure
From 2:33 why dony you just move your left foot and sit on his face instead of falling down and try to flip the oppenent?
wow... so this explains alot. A higher belt did this to me, while i was grabbing my belt defending the kamora.. I knew he had somehow used his leg for leverage but never asked how he did it... This really clears things up!! thanks
If you guys have nothing to do on a Friday Night, watch the 90 minute fight these two had back in 2013 when Gordon Ryan was skinny.
But does that technique work against Tarik itself?
How is he black belt already?
Huge
Reasons why I'd never roll with Keenan Cornelius; 1. He's like 15 years old and has forgotten more than I've learned. 2. See 1.
Jay Kilgore lol
U mirin my reverse omo plata gordon
Pretty sure this is a baratoplata (however you spell it) invented by Rafael "Barata" Freitas, anyone else?
Neo K no my dude. That would use my other arm in this same instance. The leverage is similar but a whole different submission
Like Naruto and Sasuke
Did he roll into the same position he started in when he first put the leg over?
Tarikoplata?
I thought a joke was coming at the end
lmao you sure know how to grab our attention 😂😂
Ahhhh, I've done that plenty of times when the opponent is defending the straight armbar. It is legit.
Someone please tell me, could this not be done straight from the kimura position before he falls back? I can’t see any difference between the position literally just before he falls back and the finishing position other then maybe Gordon is a little flatter on his back?
Yes
Someone just got mats in their living room?
I just showed up to see if Gordon was going to troll you in the comments ;-)
Trolled me lol.
Isnt this the second time you uploaded this?
I knew I wasn't crazy
I feel like the whole falling back, trying, opponent rolls, and recovering gets back to square one - can you skip that part and just go straight into the turn at the end of the submission once you replace your hand with your leg? Ex. 2:30 and 4:00 are the same position, right?
Sean Cannon yes, but he was just showing what to do in the case they defend
At 2:30 Gordon is on his side and in a much more powerful positon to destabilise Keenan on top. Keenan can try to turn North on Gordon but if Gordon is trying to defend, Gordon is likely to try and get on top or at least get Keenan off top position and he will feel the opportunity to do that as Keenan is trying to get his legs in the right position to turn North. Gordon has to put his back to the mat to roll and Keenan keeps his back there by securing position on the top of his chest at 4:00 which means that Gordon is in a much weaker position and it's much easier for Keenan to turn his body North. Obviously if you can get the sub with the position at 2:30 you go for it, but if you're using it on a much bigger and stronger guy, which is what the technique is designed for, you're going to struggle to manouvre to face North, without your oppenent trying to throw you off and rolling you over. If you're facing a high level guy that is much bigger and stronger than you, you're never going to get the submission at 2:30.
Tarik Represent!
Hahaha, nice bait sir.
what was this called again?
Click bait title
Gordon you changed... When are they going to run it back? Obviously Gordon doesn't want it in the Gi
How's this different from a Baratoplata?
The best way that I can describe the difference is that with the baratoplata your heads should be facing the same direction so you can enter it from ( mount or guard) vs this technique your heads would be facing in opposite directions so you can enter it from top north south or an inverted guard.
you're using the opposite arm to do the armlock. If Keenan were to use his other arm, it would become a Baratoplata.
Nice click bait
False advertisement
Curses! I was tricked! XD
Could you bicep crush that
If you straighten the leg that you replaced your wrist with then yeah sure
Sorry, I missed the name of this sub..?
Bad Grappler he says it in the last second of the vid. Tarikoplata, founded by Tarik Hopstock of Norway
Need to post a video of you rolling with him in the gi. One exists because seen highlights on instagram. haha
Gordon is not gi ready... He thinks he is and thinks he will be but he will never be top in that.
Gordon is lightyears from being able to beat a guy like Keenan in the gi. He is best in No gi
I was like "damn in just 5 minuets! ? 😭"
cute couple
really really really nice... I'm white belt by 6 month of training and 35 years old...
