Soya Sauce contains around 1% alcohol, ripe fallen sugary fruits contain around 0.9% Almost every fermented product contains alcohol. Quran does not say alcohol is haram, it says intoxicants are haram. Since zakir naik talks about science, scientifically water can be intoxicant too, it all boils down to the quantity not the ingredient. By his definition, we should be starving
I really think intention is the key in Islam. You start Salah with an intention you start Fasting with an intention so on and so forth... Trace amounts of ethanol in the foods we consume like overripen fruites can cause intoxication too however the points is we eat/drink them without the intention of getting intoxicated. The purpose of drinks that are spesifically fermented for ethanol conent are cosmued/produced with the intent of getting slightly or heavily intoxicated. Cosuming alcoholic beverages is haram since the intention is to feel the self-pleasuring effects that is commonly harmful for others, consuming food with trace ethanol content since it is cosnumed with the intent of well... just eating. "Is drinkng just beacuse you like the taste haram?" would be a good argument. If you ever drank before you would know that even a glass of wine or a pint of beer could result in a cascade that will cause an eventual intoxication.
100% Agreed. The Qur'an and hadith speak about intoxication. Fruits contain alcohol, so does yeast and breads. Intoxication is based on the following, if something in large quantities intoxicates you that the small quantity of that is Allah haram meaning, if you drank a bottle of vodka it will intoxicate you and if you drank 20 small portions it will do the same. A drink that does not intoxicate you in large quantities will do nothing in small either. Unfortunately Dr Zakir is very biased and I'm sorry but I don't agree with him as he is only providing the most extreme view point which in itself is not even correct.
@@noahsadani871 You should learn more about food science. Collected from web sources, "The sweet smell that fresh-baked bread has under the yeast and nutty Maillard reaction notes? Alcohol. However, during the baking process, most of the alcohol in the dough evaporates into the atmosphere. And it has been long known that bread contains residual alcohol at very slight quantity."
@@noahsadani871 Ofc there is alcohol in bread lmao. In islam we are allowed trace amounts of alcohol because its literally a natural process. Its just the fermentation of yeast. It happens by itself in trace amounts everywhere.
Oh and btw the fact u said 'Hows there alcohol in bread' shows how little you know about science and what alcohol even is. All bread have trace amounts of alcohol in them.
Alcohol is present in trace amounts across a wide variety of foods including yogurt, vinegar, and anything that is fermented. Even the human body produces alcohol as part of natural metabolic processes. The key thing is that these foods and natural processes do not produce alcohol to the point where they become intoxicants. By the logic presented here and percentage threshold in non-alcoholic beer, many foods would not be permitted.
Never heard of anyone drunk driving or passing out drunk from having yoghurt or vinegar, the idea here is to abstain yourself from developing the habit of consuming alcohol to get drunk since it can harm your body and cloud your judgement.
@@africanmatbahi Um no. It is explicitly stated "Whatever intoxicates in a greater quantity is also unlawful in a small quantity." [At-Tirmithi, Abu Daawood & Ibn Maajah] So regardless of whether it causes you to pass out drunk or not, it is not permitted. It is not up to you to determine how much alcohol is permissible. It is not allowed in ANY amount. That's the great thing about modern science. It gives people the objective, factual information necessary to comply with their religious beliefs. You are welcome.

@@THETESTEDBELIEVER doesn't matter brother what time may come. We just need to hold steadfast to our Deen and In Sha Allah we will be among the successful. A true believer is one who holds fast to his Deen and remembers Allah. And indeed Allah is all seeing and all knowing. Remember the story of hz. Bilal how much he endured ,how he was tortured and yet he held fast to the Deen. And we have many Sahabah who went through the worst for the Deen and that's how Islam remained alive and spread throughout. They were so few in number, and they fought armies multiple times the size of theirs and emerged victorious. Do you know how? Cuz they had true Iman. Today we are only muslims by name while our actions don't display that in the least way. We don't pray 5 times, we don't give zakah, we are just concerned with ourselves, we chase after this life and forgotten the hereafter. That's why we are in this state today. My body feel heavy.i never drink alcohol in my life, that is why I feel like dunk after I drink that non alcoholic beer. Astaghfirullah, may Allah swt forgive me😞😞😞😞. Dr. Zakir Naik says very true...
According to Ibn Othaimeen and many respectful scholars from my country (I'm Saudi) it is considered halal if the content is negligible. The hadeeth that was quoted in the video is misinterpreted here. According to majority of scholars (and the actual Arabic meaning) the hadeeth means if the drink (of certain recipe with certain content of alcohol) is intoxicating in large quantities then it's forbidden if taken in less quantities. A beer with 0.5% alcohol is not intoxicating at all considering the largest quantities a human can consume.
Otherwise, vinegar would be forbidden with this same logic! And we all know vinegar is halal. The other thing.. everything is halal unless there's a clear evidence (from Quran or Sunnah) that indicates it's forbidden. Digging into general permitted food if halal or not is considered "tanato'a" which is something discouraged in Islam

@@atomicpunk523 bro, noone drinks alcohol-free beer to be intoxicated. And noone drinks 10 cans in 1 hour to be intoxicated either. The prohibition of alcohol in the Quran shows that it means the prohibition of being drunk or stunned by the alcohol. I'm not saying that you now have to drink it, but it isn't rational to say it is porhibited because you won't be drunk at all. And i'm also not saying alcohol is allowed in Islam. You can't just say to a Muslim: "hey you are doing a sin, because you drink alc. 0.5 % beer" (or less) because he will not feel intoxicated at all. And i'm not saying that i want to drink it, because i don't. If someone drinks it, it is between Allah swt. and him

I am sorry to say that he is clearly wrong here. Are you aware that a ripe banana contains 0.2% alcohol ? The same goes for many other fruits and regular supermarkt foods that you will be consuming on a regular basis. Alcohol is just ethanol fermentation, a naturally occurring organic process. The issue with alcohol however is being intoxicated, which can lead to un-righteous decision making.

@@mujtab8siddiqu1 I wouldnt drink it even its 0% because of three reasons: 1. Most companies who provide non alcoholic beer are the same who produce alcoholic beer, so by buying their non alcoholic beer you support them 2. When any muslim sees you drinking it will think you are drinking beer, because he doesnt know 3. There are way to may drinks out there that I see the need to be drinking it
Here in Denmark you can call it none alcoholic if it got 0.5 or less, though the alcohol % needs to be viable on the bottle. Alcohol free though is 0,0%
Moreover if a person drinks non alcoholic beer, be certain that soon he'll be drinking alcoholic beer too. Clever marketers know how to get you a step closer one at a time.
For the sake of ALLAH, simply abstain from it. I have never even thought about the need of trying to know the difference between non alcoholic and alcoholic beer. As a Muslim, the word beer implies STAY OFF. Thank you very much sir for your insightful information. May ALLAH have mercy upon the Muslim umah.
Here's another additional thought: even _if_ this non-alcoholic beer was somehow absolutely 0.0% of alcohol, buying it would means you give money thus supporting the same company that produce alcoholic beverages. You're not missing out anything if you don't drink this, you're not gonna die if you don't drink this. Just drink apple juice, or idk, water is much better.

@@cansugungor4405 brother ozge i will try to make this short as possible Describing women as captives (in the marriage bond) is confirmed in an authentic hadeeth reported by At-Tirmithi within the speech of the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) in the Farewell Pilgrimage, in which he said, “I enjoin you to treat women well, for they are like captives with you, and you may not treat them otherwise unless they commit flagrant immorality…” As regards the statement, “Marriage is enslavement,” it was narrated both as a direct statement attributed to the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) (a Marfoo' hadeeth) and as a statement attributed to ‘Umar, ‘Aa’ishah, and Asmaa’ may Allaah be pleased with them all (a Mawqoof hadeeth). The Mawqoof hadeeth (the narration attributed to the three Companions) is the one judged as authentic, as was stated by Al-Iraaqi while quoting Al-Bayhaqi. However, these statements and the like do not mean that women are degraded or that they are like female slaves and that their husbands are their masters; rather, they mean that by virtue of a valid marriage contract, the woman is joined to her husband with a bond that makes her obliged to obey him in what is permissible and prevents her from desiring a man other than him. So the wife is obliged to obey her husband in matters of their intimate relationship and she should fulfill his rights upon her, just as he is obliged to fulfill her rights upon him; Allah says (what means): {And due to the wives is similar to what is expected of them, according to what is reasonable.} [Quran 2:228] For more benefit, please refer to fatwas 86618 and 88304. The relationship between them is closer to the relationship that you mentioned between the employee with her superior at work. This is the meaning of Qiwaamah (guardianship/responsibility) that Allah entitled the husband to have over his wife, as Allah says (what means): {Men are in charge of women by [right of] what Allah has given one over the other and what they spend [for maintenance] from their wealth..} [Quran 4:34] It is a responsibility of management of affairs, and it is for this reason that the wise Sharia warned the husbands against exploiting this responsibility in being authoritative over the wives. This was mentioned in the continuation of the previous verse, as Allah says (what means): {But if they obey you [once more], seek no means against them. Indeed, Allah is ever Exalted and Grand.} [Quran 4:34] Ibn Katheer may Allaah have mercy upon him said, “The saying of Allah {Indeed, Allah is ever Exalted and Grand} is a warning to mean that if they transgress against women without justification, then Allah, The Exalted and Grand, is their (women's) Protector, and He will exert revenge on those who transgress against women and deal with them unjustly.” The most important thing that should be known is that marriage is an integration between the husband and wife; each of them fulfills the role that the other may be unable to fulfill. Just as she may serve him by organizing the affairs of his home and taking care of his children, he serves her by going about in the land in order to earn a living. ‘Aa’ishah may Allaah be pleased with her narrated that the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said, “Women are but counterparts of men.” [Ahmad, Abu Dawood, At-Tirmithi] For more benefit, please refer to fatwa 84040. In conclusion, hearing these ahaadeeth and the like should not be a reason for worry, and a Muslim must understand them within the full context of the principles of Islam which take care of women and give them their rights and order men to be kind to them and warn against harming them and so forth, because if these statements are taken out of this context, then they could be misunderstood to mean the opposite. Allah knows best.

Non alcoholic liquors may also have such small amounts but at the end of the day it is not an "intoxicant" if doesn't intoxicate
What is forbidden is intoxicants, if non-alcoholic beer contains so less amount of alcohol therefore it could not be considered as intoxicant. It only becomes intoxicant if you take four cans or more.
I agree with you bro. The solution is very simple no can or bottle or jar products. Only fresh stuff that also homemade as my mom does and if it's not doable then avoid it very simple bro.
I have a question, if you cannot consume something that had alcohol in it at some point even if that alcohol is removed, it is wrong to consume. Bread dough often contains alcohol (the yeast in the bread dough forms alcohol) yet during baking all this alcohol is evaporated. But it still contained it. My question is, does that mean one cannot consume bread as well?
intoxication is haram, not alcohol.. there are many foods and drinks which contains small percentage of alcohol.. even the medicine we take, many of those made by alcohol...

Even coca-cola and Pepsi contain small amounts of alcohol and we drink those drinks almost everyday
The point is about the intoxicating
I really think intention is the key in Islam. You start Salah with an intention you start Fasting with an intention so on and so forth... Trace amounts of ethanol in the foods we consume like overripen fruites can cause intoxication too however the points is we eat/drink them without the intention of getting intoxicated. The purpose of drinks that are spesifically fermented for
ethanol conent are cosmued/produced with the intent of getting slightly or heavily intoxicated.
Exactly
There is nothing called 0.0 alcohol. All foods include even a small percentage of alcohol
hows there alcohol in bread
@@kenobi9532 Thanks!
By the logic presented here and percentage threshold in non-alcoholic beer, many foods would not be permitted.
stay away from fruits that aren't so fresh any more
Never heard of anyone drunk driving or passing out drunk from having yoghurt or vinegar, the idea here is to abstain yourself from developing the habit of consuming alcohol to get drunk since it can harm your body and cloud your judgement.
Sister may Allah grant you Jannah.
I'm hopeful a mistake is not being exposed.(trying not to be direct)
Im trying to tell my parents that its not haram, but they wont listen they're just stuck in their head that beer==haram
He has really good reasonings with perfect example and knowledge wow

Yes please, I was thinking about this too. Please someone with knowledge explain this.
@@cansugungor4405 brother ozge i will try to make this short as possible
Describing women as captives (in the marriage bond) is confirmed in an authentic hadeeth reported by At-Tirmithi within the speech of the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) in the Farewell Pilgrimage, in which he said, “I enjoin you to treat women well, for they are like captives with you, and you may not treat them otherwise unless they commit flagrant immorality…”
As regards the statement, “Marriage is enslavement,” it was narrated both as a direct statement attributed to the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) (a Marfoo' hadeeth) and as a statement attributed to ‘Umar, ‘Aa’ishah, and Asmaa’ may Allaah be pleased with them all (a Mawqoof hadeeth).
So the wife is obliged to obey her husband in matters of their intimate relationship and she should fulfill his rights upon her, just as he is obliged to fulfill her rights upon him; Allah says (what means): {And due to the wives is similar to what is expected of them, according to what is reasonable.} [Quran 2:228]
For more benefit, please refer to fatwas 86618 and 88304.
The relationship between them is closer to the relationship that you mentioned between the employee with her superior at work. This is the meaning of Qiwaamah (guardianship/responsibility) that Allah entitled the husband to have over his wife, as Allah says (what means): {Men are in charge of women by [right of] what Allah has given one over the other and what they spend [for maintenance] from their wealth..} [Quran 4:34]
It is a responsibility of management of affairs, and it is for this reason that the wise Sharia warned the husbands against exploiting this responsibility in being authoritative over the wives. This was mentioned in the continuation of the previous verse, as Allah says (what means): {But if they obey you [once more], seek no means against them. Indeed, Allah is ever Exalted and Grand.} [Quran 4:34]
Ibn Katheer may Allaah have mercy upon him said, “The saying of Allah {Indeed, Allah is ever Exalted and Grand} is a warning to mean that if they transgress against women without justification, then Allah, The Exalted and Grand, is their (women's) Protector, and He will exert revenge on those who transgress against women and deal with them unjustly.”
The most important thing that should be known is that marriage is an integration between the husband and wife; each of them fulfills the role that the other may be unable to fulfill.

Thousands of Muslims have left Islam after reading this book. The evidence
presented is overwhelming and the conclusion is inescapable. Understanding
Muhammad will put an end to Islam. Before dismissing this claim as hyperbole,
read the book and you too will come to the same conclusion. The challenge is to
convince Muslims to read it. A great majority of Muslims will not read books that are critical of their religion. The greatest gift one person can give to another is the gift of doubt. Unfortunately that is what Muslims dread most.

If non alcoholic beer is not allowed, why is vinegar allowed to have. It uses ethanol in the process as sugars fermented.
The intention matters. You cannot turn a harm product into a halal product
@@imanfateh3261 Thanks, but I am not fully satisfied with my answer yet! The chemistry behind this is what is important. ASALMUALAYKUM.
It all about intentions. Take a look at good deed. We are encouraged to help other. But if our intention, for it is to show our wealth or to show our kindness. We will fall to another category of arrogance. Intentions and persecution are all that matters.
@@ductuvlog3658 thanks but, I still would like to know about why the prophet had vinegar when it is involved in the process of fermentation as sugars ferment.
There is chemistry involved here.
I understand the intention of why making it. But, what makes vinegar different from beer, wine and other alcohols.

May Allah bless you for clarifying. MashaAllah.
The ones in Middle East diodes the not contain any alcohol at all as far as in Uk even 5% it is shown for your kind information.
Thanks
it is shown and well promoted that apple cider vinegar has loads of health benefits.. my question to you, @drzakir, is that is it permissible to consume it for such benefits?
This made understand that we don’t even know but many drinks may have even 0.001 percent alcohol
Actually there are many brands whoes beers are 100% alcohol free. At least in Australia.
why even drink beers?alcohol free or not?
@@yasserpateballa9471 We are not talking about why we are talking about halal or haram.
every muslim well atleast 90% drink non alcoholic drinks, in australia
@@doityourselffixityourself3110 i know but before drinking or eating something, you should at first ask yourself what it brings to your body?you are thirsty you drink water or fruit juice, you are hungry you eat except pork
@@yasserpateballa9471 Again we are not talking about what we should eat or not, we are talking about whether beer with 0% alcohol is halal or not. Zakir Naik did not say "just drink water, why do you need to drink beer"?
In small quantities it's not haram because it does not intoxicate you.. Surley intention comes into play.. I use mouth wash which contains alcohol, my intention is to clean my mouth of germs not to get drunk off it so therefore it's fine.. Your Lord knows your intentions, he can see inside your heart..
No one drinks mouth wash
THE BEST TEACHER! honestly!! I've been in this situation once which actually led to bad experience.. now I will know to avoid it!!! Thank you Dr Naik😃 what if they say "0% alcohol". I assume it means same..
I feel like if you drink non alcoholic beer you end by drinking alcoholic beer
Great speech sir, Thank you very much. ☝🏼❤️
بارك الله فيك و جزاك الله خيرا و اكرمكم في الدنيا و الاخره
What about bread? That uses yeast to ferment sugars from wheat instead of barley to produce carbon dioxide to raise the dough. Alcohol is produced and some of it is retained in the bread because of the formation of the crust during baking. How much alcohol that remains in bread after baking is variable but i understand it can be similar to the zero alcohol beers or maybe slightly more?
But alcohol is present in small quantities in lot of foods including ripe bananas, fruit juice, yoghurt etc. But we eat these things even in pregnancy cuz it's small amount.
Where where I live there is a beer that says 0% alcohol.
I trust there is 0% of it.
@@Nima-ec4tr good advice.
Thank you Allah......
Then why do the bottles have the Halal Logo ?
Very good dr zakir
How do you explain fruit juice from Saudi Arabia that contains 1% alcohol? I have personally seen these in Muslim shops.
I agree with you bro.
The solution is very simple no can or bottle or jar products. Only fresh stuff that also homemade as my mom does and if it's not doable then avoid it very simple bro.
This video is very educative
I have a question, if you cannot consume something that had alcohol in it at some point even if that alcohol is removed, it is wrong to consume. Bread dough often contains alcohol (the yeast in the bread dough forms alcohol) yet during baking all this alcohol is evaporated. But it still contained it. My question is, does that mean one cannot consume bread as well?
intoxication is haram, not alcohol.. there are many foods and drinks which contains small percentage of alcohol.. even the medicine we take, many of those made by alcohol...
@@milliyetci5672 non alcoholic beer is also impossible to get Intoxicated from. by ur logic it should be halal
