Lets discus the Prophecy of Prophet Muhammad (saws) in the Buddhist Scriptures.
Almost all the Buddhist scriptures, they speak about a maitri to come, it’s also mentioned in Chikkvati Sinhnad Suttanta D 111. 76 it says that another Buddha will come by the name of maitri the holy one the supreme one the enlighten one and endowed with wisdom and conduct, auspicious having knowledge of the universe, whatever he will get from supernatural knowledge he will preach to the whole world, he will preach a religion which will be glorious at the beginning, glorious at the climax and glorious at the end. He will preach a way of life which will be truthful and wholly perfect. He will have several thousands of monks as I have several hundreds of monks.
This Prophecy is also repeated in the Sacred books of the East vol. 35 page no. 235 that a maitri will come with such and such criteria and qualities and further it says, that he will be a leader of thousands of people as I’m a leader of hundred’s of people.
It’s further mentioned in the gospel of Buddha page no. 217-218 that Anandahe asks Buddha that ‘O blessed one after you have gone who will guide us so the blessed one Buddha he replied that I am not the first Buddha in this world neither am I the last there will be another Buddha who will come the holy one the supreme one the enlighten one endowed with wisdom and conduct the auspicious having knowledge of the universe, he will preach a good religion he will preach a religion will be glorious at the beginning, glorious at the climax and glorious at the end. He will teach a religion which will be based on truth and will be a perfect way of life and he will have many thousands of disciples as I have only hundreds of disciples.
The Ananda asks Buddha the blessed one, how will we know him? So Buddha replies, he will be called as Maitri. Maitri means the “Merciful” “Loving” “Kind” “Compasionate” one equivalent Arabic word is “Rahmah” and Allah says in the Qur’an in Surah Ambiya chapter 21 verse 107:
“Wa Ma Arsalnaaka Illa Rahmatal lil Aalameen”
107. we sent Thee not, but As a Mercy to all the worlds as a mercy to all the creatures as a mercy to whole of humanity.
This word “Rahmah” mercy and its derivatives are mentioned in the Qur’an in no less than 409 times and every chapter of the Qur’an except for Surah Taubha chapter no. 9 begins with a beautiful formula “Bismillah Ar Rahman Ar Raheem” In the name of Allah Most Gracious Most Merciful.
So the Buddhist scriptures almost all of them prophesize about the Maitri i.e. Prophet Muhammad (saws) to come.
Muhammad (saws) is further prophesized in the Buddhist scriptures which is mentioned in the sacred books of the East Vol. 11 page no. 36 Maha-Parinibbana Sutta ch. 2 verse 32 it says that as for the Buddha there are no exoteric or esoteric teachers and O Ananda the Tata Ghattas that means the teachers have nothing like a close fist we cannot keep the knowledge to ourselves it should be proclaimed and we know Muhammad (saws) whatever he received as a wahi from Allah (swt) he proclaimed to the whole of humanity and he told his disciples that never keep it away from human kind proclaim it and spread it that’s what’s mentioned in the prophecy, theres nothing like esoteric or exoteric, everything should be told to human kind...

Ya, Buddha ever told us about Maitreya, but Maitreya can't be the same person with Prophet Muhammad.
One of the attributes of Buddha is "Sammasambuddho", which means "Fully self-enlightened".
According to Islam, prophet is the messenger of God, who hears the teaching from God and then he spreads it to people.
According to Buddhism, Buddha finds dhamma BY HIMSELF and he is able to TEACH PEOPLE TOO.
Then, how can PROPHET be the same one with BUDDHA?
Tripitaka says that Maitreya Buddha will come after the teaching of our present Gautama Buddha is gone, people will be worse, kill each other, harm each other, until some of them will improve themselves, the world will become better, then Maitreya will come. And Maitreya is not the last one, there will be many Buddhas in the future.
But we know that we still have tripitaka and good followers...
Buddha's practice is different from Prophet Muhammad. For the easiest example, Buddha and monks need to be chaste, they can't even touch a woman but Prophet Muhammad had wives and children.
And the most important thing is the concept of Islam and Buddhism is very different.
Buddha said about 4 noble truths, but Prophet Muhammad didn't say about 4 noble truths. And when Prophet Muhammad said about Creator God, Buddha said about paticcasamuppada. For buddhism, everything is anatta, but Islam accepts atta or soul.
And for the cosmology, we are different too. Buddhists learn that there are 3 spheres, sense, form and formless sphere. Nirvana is out of sphere. The way to achieve nirvana is not similar to any religion.
I just share some opinion from Buddhist's view. If you want to know about Buddhism more, you can ask me. I will not pressure you to convert to buddhism.
I love Islam, I have many muslim friends, my best friend is muslimah too. I just want to tell you from our side.

it is important to note that the Lord Buddha mentioned that he was NOT a God,NOT a son of God,NOT a messenger of God,and NOT a prophet of God. Lord Buddha never claimed to be any of those things. He is a human being who attained enlightenment (the understanding and realization of the universal truth) and attained Nirvana,and preached it to others. Lord Buddha did not claim to get this knowledge from God or a higher power. He,and all other Buddhas got and will get this knowledge through their own wisdom and effort. This was not the case for Prophet Muhammad(SAW). And according to Buddhism,a Buddha appears in a timely manner,when there is a need for such wisdom in the world. Therefore there is a large time gap between the appearance of each Buddha. Lord Buddha appeared 2500 years ago and Prophet Muhammad(SAW) appeared 1400 years ago,which means there is a very small time gap,and there was no need for another all knowing one in such a short time period,because Buddhism was established and therefore the wisdom was spread to people. Above all,it’s important to note once again that a Buddha(englightened one) and a prophet of God are entirely two different things. However,even as a Buddhist, i highly respect Prophet Muhammad(SAW)since he was an admirable person.

So as a Muslim I'd like to have a sincere discussion if you happened to come across this comment. So you said Buddha reach enlightenment and reached nirvana. And he got them through his efforts. Is there any way to examine his claims? Or you have to reach nirvana first to know that he's telling the truth? In Islam, Muhammad claimed to receive revelation from God which is the Quran. It was revealed 1400 years ago to Muhammad but each letters and the way to recite them still preserved until today. And that's why people can study his claims on receiving revelation from God, hence the reason so many people comes to Islam after studying the Quran. Buddha said he reached nirvana. So as a buddhist, can you tell me evidences of his claims? How should I know that Buddha is true because we know Islam and Buddhism preached different things, thus only one of them may be the truth. According to Buddha, the future Meitrya Buddha preaches human universal love. Thus no lying, no terrorism, no hatred, no talking bad about other religions and above all no religious conversion.

This is a big joke. Buddhism cannot be compared with theistic religions. This is because Buddhism rejects creationism. Siddhartha Bodhisattva is a self-acquired knowledge person. No other person imparted knowledge to him. If you want to learn Buddhism, learn Abhidharma contained in the Tripitaka. Then you can see the Buddha. He is the greatest man who ever lived. He became the teacher of all living beings.
We cannot estimate the number of Buddhas in the world in the future. It is so much appreciated. We know that Maitreya Buddha will appear next. That too will take another thousand of thousand years. As clearly stated in the Maha-Parinibbana sutta of the Tripitaka, it is advised to consider the dharma as the teacher.
Please don't compare the world's greatest philosophical religion with theistic religions.

8. If you are killed in Jihad against (i.e. Jews, Hindu, Christians, Buddhist and all religion except Islam) in the cause of Allah it is better than anything else in this world - Quran 3:157
9. Never think of Jihadists who have been killed as dead. They are alive in paradise - Quran 3:169
10. Jihadi Martyrs receive good rewards and favour from Allah - Quran 3:171
11. Women who have unlawful sex. Lock the guilty women in their houses until they die - Quran 4:15
12. Men are in charge of women. Those wives from whom you fear arrogance - Advise them, forsake them in bed, Finally, beat them - Quran 4:34
13. Jews & Christians disbelieve in Islam, before We destroy your faces & twist them toward their backs & curse you - Quran 4:47

We are still in the time of Gautama Buddha and we don't have to wait for Maithree Buddha to come to teach us how to end the cycle of life.

Buddha's concept of God is as the 'highest state of existence' or Nirvana which is a universal entity of superconsciousness, present everywhere in his universe and also within everyone, in the core of our soul, . i am a Buddhist and although i cannot comment on what you say about Islam due to not knowing Islamic teachings, with all due respect I disagree on you saying "Buddhist concept is superior", the Buddha laid out and taught a step by step process about liberating yourself from your karma and attaining enlightenment (Nirvana or supreme bliss). 1. Buddhism accepts the existence of many deities but rejects "The Creator God", you may read Patika Sutta and Baka Jataka.

Buddha ever told us about Maitreya, but Maitreya can't be the same person with Prophet Muhammad.
One of the attributes of Buddha is "Sammasambuddho", which means "Fully self-enlightened".
According to Islam, prophet is the messenger of God, who hears the teaching from God and then he spreads it to people.
According to Buddhism, Buddha finds dhamma BY HIMSELF and he is able to TEACH PEOPLE TOO.
Then, how can PROPHET be the same one with BUDDHA?
Tripitaka says that Maitreya Buddha will come after the teaching of our present Gautama Buddha is gone, people will be worse, kill each other, harm each other, until some of them will improve themselves, the world will become better, then Maitreya will come. And Maitreya is not the last one, there will be many Buddhas in the future.
But we know that we still have tripitaka and good followers...
Buddha's practice is different from Prophet Muhammad. For the easiest example, Buddha and monks need to be chaste, they can't even touch a woman but Prophet Muhammad had wives and children.
And the most important thing is the concept of Islam and Buddhism is very different.
Buddha said about 4 noble truths, but Prophet Muhammad didn't say about 4 noble truths. And when Prophet Muhammad said about Creator God, Buddha said about paticcasamuppada. For buddhism, everything is anatta, but Islam accepts atta or soul.
And for the cosmology, we are different too. Buddhists learn that there are 3 spheres, sense, form and formless sphere. Nirvana is out of sphere. The way to achieve nirvana is not similar to any religion.
I just share some opinion from Buddhist's view. If you want to know about Buddhism more, you can ask me. I will not pressure you to convert to buddhism.

Prophet Muhammad believed that there is soul (Roh) and we are our soul, which is wrong because according to Buddhism, we reject the existence of soul because everything is anatta.
2. Doubt
Did he trust in Buddha, dhamma and monks?
3. Adherence to rules and rituals
Did he have any idea about rules and rituals and purity?
4. Sensual lust
He had wives and also children.
5. Repulsion
He had anger.
6. Greed for material existence
Had he ever did rupa jhana?
7. Greed for immaterial existence
Had he ever did arupa jhana?
8. Conceit
Did he have no conceit about being superior, equal or inferior to others?
9. Distraction
Did he have no distraction of consciousness?
10. Ignorance
Did he know paticcasamuppada and the reverse one (Nirodha) ?
If Prophet Muhammad is really Maitreya Buddha then he must have no 10 bondages and know how to destroy these bondages and be able to teach his followers too. But as I have heard about Islam, there is no verse in Quran says about 4 noble truths.
Just Prophet Muhammad had wives and children, he could not be even anagami, then how could he become arhat or Buddha? Well, I don't mean that to have wife is wrong, but arhat has no sensual lust so he will not have wife. (Prince Siddhartha had wife and children too, but when he became Buddha, he had no sensual lust and he was chaste.)
And for 1, 2, 6, 7 and 10, you can see that Islam and Buddhism are very different.
Islam is about Allah created us to worship Him so we must obey Allah's rules and there is nothing to do with desire as long as we obey Allah. Human can be enjoy food, sex, etc.
Buddhism is about how to destroy all desires and end all suffering for the sake of true happiness.
Then how would Buddha teachings and Islam are so different? I bet you can't answer this question.

A person with zero knowledge in Buddism. Just memorizes page numbers from few buddist books and acting like he knows everything. He just want to prove what he believes is right which is not the truth.

What this man says is that in the Buddhist scriptures the Buddha has predicted the arrival of a messiah by the name of Maithree and that, that is prophet Mohammed. What is strange about this is that he is ready to believe the scriptures as far as the arrival of the messiah is concerned. But he is not ready to believe the preachings of the Buddha. What sort of logic is this. How can one part be true while the rest of it is untrue. Either both are true or both are untrue. You have to be able to think a bit if you have the abilty to think. Please give it a little thought if you can.what i can see is that you have a photographic memory and keep preaching from memory without understanding the underlying message. The literary meaning is not what the underlying message is. For example i think there is a belief in Islam (i have not read the Qur'an but heard this after the Easter bomb blast) that if someone kills others and kills himself then that person goes to heaven. (I think this must be a quote from the Qur'an. I may be wrong). When taken literally this is a heinous crime. But the underlying message is (as i see it) that if someone realises that there is no being outside( kills others) and kills himself(realises that there is no self) then he goes to heaven (in Islam and Christianity) or attains nibbana. (as in Buddhism.)
In Christianity or Islam there is no belief about a personified god.(i know this is blasphemy according to you). What the Buddha, the Jesus and the prophet Mohammed said was " have trust in me"(my preachings) and follow them and you will realise the truth yourself. (The Buddha overcame death and birth and anyone can come to this state if one sees the truth in this life itself, the Jesus rose from the dead and both the Jesus and the prophet Mohammed promised eternal life). (This eternal life is not after your death at the end of life but while being alive, here and now in this life.)
The belief in a personified god is a mind made concept. There is a force which creates an illusion and that is nature. If you want to call it Allah or Almighty god so be it. But Mohomed the prophet in his wisdom prohibited Allah being depicted in any form or made in to
a statue as nature cannot be made in to any form like a statue or caricature . The Buddha never condoned idolatry and preached that, that is foolish. But human nature is such that when a disaster hits you, you would seek relief from anything. Be it praying, worshipping offerings of thinghs to any higher being even if it is only a statue.(this higher being is again your own imagination). If Allah is a personified thing with mercy will he ever create people like Hitler and various others who not only killed millions of humans but other creatures as well. Will he wreak havoc by way of earthquakes, tsunamis, floods, famines and viruses like Corona where even the so called pious are not spared the suffering of this wordly life. If there is any freedom from this suffering in this wordly life it should be something that can be attained here and now. Who want any freedom after their death.So this freedom and eternal life that the Buddha, the Jesus and the prophet Mohammed preached is something that is reachable while you are here. Think Dr Naik.
Nature is nature and if you realise that as long as there is someone to observe (self) then good thinghs and bad thinghs happen irrespective of how good you are.
Tha Jesus was born to virgin Mary. This means that the "Jesus" was not a person but a state of the mind of someone who is enlightened. Similarly that is why god is not a personified item and it is said that the god is present everywhere and even In the flowers, the cascading waterfalls as they are all part of nature or god or Allah. Man and everything else is said to have been created by god. This creation of the illusory mind happens all the time and happens one thought after another and that is why it is called a circle of birth and death which happens continously.The day you realise that this is an illusion of the illusory mind (yes it is a paradox) you will be able to liberate yourself from yourself. Maybe Dr.Zakir, and other moslem preachers who also said this, are emanations of Bodhisattvas, who are trying to save the moslems by incorporating the Buddha as the highest Divinity figure in Buddhism, into islam. Because in Buddhism scriptures, it is said that among the compassionate acts of every Bodhisattva to save every deluded sentient being, one of the acts is to emanate amongst the believers of other spiritual teachings & slowly guide them into the truth of Buddha's teachings. It is also said in the scripture that whoever hear the word "Buddha" will eventually & definitely become a Buddha himself in the future.
As I can see now, Muhammad has no shame on copying ideas from other religions and philosophies. He came after the Buddha and the Jesus. He took some of (only some of them) good things from other religions and added many things that he can comprehend and made a new religion. Come on. Be reasonable.

There is 1 mention of Maitreya (Buddha Metteyyo) in canonical text.
No such page and teachings are not classified in pages without the Nikaya.
When being asked by Ananda Buddha answers that Dhamma - the teaching will guide them and others who'll join later. Not the other Buddha.
According to digha nikaya 26 (dn26) Maytreya will appear not in this time, but when lifespan of the people will be 80 000 years.
According to mn115 it's not possible that another Buddha may appear while teaching of the previous Buddha is still present.

He Forget to mention that Maitriya Buddha will only appear after Sakyamuni's teaching will completely be lost and he has predicted that his teaching will last for 5000 years to come . And in between the gap before Maitri Buddha many Pratyeka Buddha will appear (Pratyeka Buddha's are those who has got teaching from Buddha and practiced alone for innumerable life time to become Prateyka Buddha , they won't teach like Samyak Sambuddha (correctly and completely enlightened ).Hence, to call Phophet Mohamad as Maitriya Buddha is absolutely wrong as all Buddha's teaches the same 4 novel truth and 12 interdependent and Nobel 8 fold path and teaching under this basis so, Like Sakyamuni Maitriya muni won't promote any creator God .
Hi, I am a Buddhist, you said that there is a prophet about "maitree bodhisatwa". yes there is a prophet about that. but you have missed a special part of that prophesy.
it also says that after preset lord budha's maha parnirwana (gauthama buddha). his dharma will stand in this world for another 5000 years. in that time human life expectancy is about 10 years. then 'kalpa winasha' will happen after that again human life expectance will increase. after about a 'kalpa' time 'maitree bodhisatwa' will be born and make the world a better place.
As you have studied the surface of every religion I belive you know how much time period is kalpa means. for those who doesn't know it's about an infinity years.
Maitreya Buddha will only come when Gautama Buddha's teachings are forgotten after 5000 years from his death. He will be like Gautama Buddha, as he's titled like Gautama "The Buddha".

Why prophet Muhammad is the last and final messenger? Why God is not willing to send prophets after him?
Isn't that unjust to people of our times to send the prophets only in ancient times because people in the prophet's time has higher chances than us to believe in him, as they are seeing the prophets live performing miracles in front of their eyes.
So Why God didn't want to send prophets every 500 or 1000 years as he use to send in the past..or atleast to send the final prophet during an era like ours so that we can record prophets performing miracles with cameras to convince our future generations..
Prophets were sent as a guidance ,at that time people used to forget the prophets after some time or change their teachings the way they liked causing them to go astray . That's why prophets were sent after some time so that they could lead their people to the straight path again. Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was sent as the last messenger because it was promised by Allah that the Quran would not be corrupted , the Quran we have today is the same that was there 1400 years ago . Hence Islam is the only relegion that has not been corrupted . As for miracles Quran is the biggest miracle if you read it and understand it with your heart . Even if miracles happened today and u recorded it with the camera people would have still criticized it . I recommend you read and understand the Quran ,all your answers would be fulfilled IA 😇

There were many things told to the prophet that were not part of the Quran including the punishment of stoning hence it was recorded as Hadith ,the hadith u sent means that Muslims in future would refuse to accept Hadith and would only accept what is written in the Quran . That is exactly what is happening today ,some Muslims donr believe in the hadith . Punishment of stoning is included in the hadith but not in the Quran . Hope I answered your question

this is completely a wrong quotation of Maitreya Buddha. Maitreya Buddha is said to come after 5000 years... when Buddha's teaching is completely disappeared in the world. Buddhist teaching is still alive.
Not 5000 years, i think it's a kalpa. Called the Buddhashunya. A time where the last of Buddhist teachings are gone, humanity is in ruins and during this period I think that lasts a kalpa is when Maitree Buddha will arise.
