My macaw can be a pain as she loves being out.. The easy way I've found is to have her bowl on the cage door. Tell her it's time, add a treat or two and she/they walk in willingly.
@TheParrotTeacher she will take from the hand, but some things I use to promote set things. Treat bowl on the door, for cage time. Hells for hero's band for shower times. .. It's the little regular things that make a big difference.
Thank you for this video. I am having trouble getting my cockatiel boy to go in the cage at night. I let him stay out all day when I am home. Will try the peaking perch. Luring him with millet and target training has not worked.
The peeking perch is game changing, I saw you or Sophie recommend before and my cockatiel goes right for it now. Such an easy way to get him back in! Love the helpful advice and the beautiful bird clips. Those crimson red belly conures are so gorgeous!
I've had parakeets previously but now only have one green cheek. Bought him yesterday and am navigating the net for tips and advices. Love your channel and the manner you explain. I have a question concerning sleep. Yesterday (1st night) he spent it hanging in a corner. The day went super well, ate proper, played etc. Tonight, he's not really going back in the cage; more staying on top of it. Cage is placed at the higest point of the room which means he has vision on everything. Regarding an other video which I'll ask you here, concerning nutrition. If I understand correctly, I should feed him once in the morning with vegetables and afterwards with seeds/nuts. Does it mean I should remove the food container in the cage? Thank you 🤝
Any tips on how to hand tame my new cockatiel because I have two now and ones new and the new one is 7 weeks old currently and my other is 2 years old ?

That is a really good tactic! We call it a treat bowl and often use it for birds who dislike taking them by hand!

We find it so useful too! Lots of people also use it alongside a bowl!

Yup I have dedicated videos for bonding!
Alright ty. And the current progress with my new bird is just eating from my hand
If my new cockatiel is not handtamed yet but my other cockatiel is bonded to me would that help the new one trust me and bond with me?
Potentially yes! They can learn from each other!
Oh alright Ty
The peeking perch is a great idea! Thanks for this suggestion 🙏🦜
You’re welcome 😊
I am so lucky my parrot 🦜 goes to his house every night at the same time
Awesome!
