I remember when my brother and I played this together, and we saw the drain for the first time, and we're like "It clearly leads to something", so we went ahead and jumped in, and the moment we saw Klaymen fall into an endless pit, we had made a huge mistake. Worst part is, we didn't save ANYTHING. So guess who had to start ALLLLL over?
That reminds me of crash bandicoot 2 we were completing it without a memory card and a "friend" was staying over and we was on the final platform he knocked the PS1 off and ran down the stairs we caught him and dragged him back into my room and made him get us back to the same spot he couldn't even do the second level and every time he died we would knock the light off and beat him up he was frightened of the dark

I was really scared of the chase scene even though it was intended to be goofy in some parts, it scared the shit out of me as a kid. But I still kept playing because I just loved the adrenalin.
I get the good ending and and bonus ending but what was kloggs intention? He made another like himself but was that really the goal? Also that bonus ending geez. It's so disturbing to hear him yell farther and farther down into nothing.
Klogg wanted you to become corrupted by wearing the crown, after which you would serve him as his peon because you would also think like him too as a result of the corruption. Problem is, that klogg didnt really think the plan through in its entirety, kinda like when he stole Hoborg's crown in the first place, only to end up "ruling" over an empty world.
@@xSolBadguy assumption mainly. As I said, I imagine klogg got kinda bored after ruling over an empty world, so why not try to make a follower out of the only person that exists there who could foil your plans?
The thing is, Klogg wanted to prove a point. He wanted Klaymen to wear the crown because he wanted to show Hoborg that no matter what, every creation of his would end up the same. Theres a huge wall of lore that hints at this sort of thing. It wasn't so he could have a peon, or a partner, it was simply to prove that Klayman was just like him. That's why when Klayman puts the crown on he goes all "HE BOUGHT IT!" Because in the end, Klogg was only trying to manipulate Klayman, to bring out that greed in him that Klogg has. The game is super goofy on the surface, but the lore is GIGANTIC.
Why did Klaymen have to press a button on the throne to wake the king up? Why did Klogg have a knife when all he needed to do was take the crown again? Why is the king's crown get taller at 3:13 than previous scenes? Why does the king have to introduce the new creations to Klaymen, when apparently the King was able to imbue them with the knowledge of an entire language? Klaymen will soon realize all his "friends" never had a choice in the matter of being his friend, which goes against the very definition of what a friend is. The King bases his perspective on whether things are good based on the emotions of Klaymen, going so far as to bring back the dead in order to please him, instead of the King having his own standard of morality (bringing back the dead is not moral, people need to have closure, the king is making Klaymen dependent on him, quite morally-questionable at minimum)? Seemingly, the only reason the King can wear the crown is because he doesn't transform into something physically ugly, but that teaches the opposite of what we find in reality, that beauty and ugliness is only skin deep and, that the psychology and mental state of a person is the most important thing when making moral and ethical choices. This game is bad except for it's music and artistry.
@@RetroPixelLizard This game is for kids who play veggie tales, is my understanding. All my questions just point to how young people will be manipulated into wrong thinking, if they put any weight to the story (which anyone would, because of how long and tedious the game is, they will probably have the "sunken cost fallacy" in their thinking).
The endings (and in turn, the entire story) do not make any sense. There is no moral to the story at all, just an entire waste of time for anyone unfortunate enough to be introduced to this game.
@@RetroPixelLizard I didn't say an ending, I said a moral. The puzzles are unsatisfying so they dont count. And to put all old pc games into one box is doing everyone a disservice, dumbing it down.
