Hey there! Thank you for watching! Just to let you know, I am aware of the minor language infractions and the out of period mistakes. I'll be re-releasing this episode, fixed, prior to the next one. For now, it shall remain as it is, so please forgive these oversights. I am but one man wearing many hats :) Many lessons have been learned! Best wishes and a Happy New Year to everyone!
I just found this excellent series and think it is the best ever & have binge watched them all & now want more when can we expect the next episodes & btw it is a perfect companion to the Great Martian War '13- '17 😍👽👾🤯
I don't think I've ever seen anyone come up with the concept of actually going inside the Martian cylinders before and this was so incredibly effective
This marks a historical moment! War of the Worlds 1934 is the first adaption to show the bipedal Martians and (still unseen) embankment machine! Now onto the video itself. like always it is executed amazingly, the low angle and human POV make the cylinder look absolutely gigantic, I also love how the British military is attempting to discover more about the Martians, and I love how this episode specifically makes us see how organized the Martians are in their attack rather than just running around destroying everything they see, even their landing was planned to hit specific areas. Now the cylinder itself. I adore how the inside was made to look like it can hold occupants for long interstellar journeys (with the suspension units in particular) i also love how there's a computer terminal, making the cylinder more than just a big bullet. And the addition of the Martian language is just a chef's kiss. The body horror is also to be appreciated, as that always set apart this invasion story, The bodies left behind near the cylinder, twisted and dissolved by the black smoke, the bipeds being sucked dry with the dots of the Martian mouth-tentacles being the only clue as to what happened. This just keeps getting better and better, keep up the amazing work!
Thank you SO much for that Marco. It's such a relief when a vid is well received, and even more so understood! I kind of worried that this one might seem a bit boring, and you never know what will work or not. With each video, I end up spending so much time with it that i become numb to it's impact and have to rely on my other half to give the green light with fresh eyes. She said it was good to go, so it's always good to see she knows what is what. Anyway, thank you for such a lovely and full comment. It makes me super happy!
@waroftheworlds1934 no problem. You good sir have a vision. And I simply cannot wait to see how you explore and expand this lovely adaptation. Also shout out to your other half for supporting you during this journey.
@@marcobagnardi4739 Cheers Marco :) And yes, big shout out to the wife who is awesome, and without whom non of this would have happened at all. She really is an amazing woman!
now i get why this took so long. this is an absolute masterpiece. i wish i could say more but i genuinely cant come up with anything that could describe how i feel about this video. just a masterpiece.
Wow, Thank you Sirasparagus! I've said it elsewhere, but i worried it might be a bit boring! So I'm glad I don't listen to myself lol. Really pleased you enjoyed it, and thank you for the awesome comment!
This was worth the wait. Wow. I don't think any adaptation of Wells' novel ever achieved this level of creepiness. I wish Hollywood had this level of imagination.
Cheers Chuck! The problem with Hollywood is there are few too many cooks in the kitchen. I think for creativity to really flow it needs to cut the strings that money men bring to the mix. Too much of playing it safe and minimising risk. They'll only do something when it's proved to be popular. Anyway, thank you, really pleased you enjoyed it! :) It's a labour of love for sure!
What an unexpected Christmas present! Fantastic stuff and had me on the edge of my seat! Interesting to hear they know heat rays are plasma rather than microwaves. Will they try ceremaic shields? Amazing production all round! Thank you!
Merry Christmas Cosmic! Glad it hit the spot. As for the plasma, well, when you can see the beams, what else could it be? :D And yes, it'll be interesting to see what them scientists come up with for our boys in the trenches!
*giggles* I have no idea what you're talking about. Of course, in the video, that is the result of a military scientist thinking exactly the same thing. :D
Wow! My heart was thumping away watching this. Seeing the beings brought for food was sobering and the puncture wounds from where the Martians ‘sucked them dry’- chilling. Really well done. Love it, love it ,love it!!
Chris! Hey man :) To please you is the best thing i can do, and i always love to see your comments. It might sound funny, but i wasn't 100% sure the puncture wounds would translate and make sense, so I'm very glad they did. Have a fantastic weekend my friend :)
Another astounding entry. Excellent to explore the Martians technology through a more curious scientific lens. Exploring the mammoth cylinder and all that empty space really making one feel insignificant and small. Great to see the Martian cattle make an appearance, and surely it can’t be a coincidence that they look all too much like Grey Aliens, of which Wells speculative evolutionary ideas about mankind and extraterrestrials are credited to be an origin of the frail, large eyes and big brained alien archetype. Some frightful implications of the extended tunnel from the cylinder. Plenty of mysteries and surprises around each corner. Very excited for what’s to come!
Ello ello, always good to see you RedD :) Really glad you liked this more exploratory angle on the story! It's really fun to explore the more esoteric aspects of the world, and it's opened up some really fun ideas for the future too (which we'll get to in good time!). And as for the tunnel, well, there is a whole new frontier to explore. I'm rather excited to get down there and see what we can see. Thanks as always for watching and the comment. Also, I've just started watching your Underfooked series and it's hilarious, love it :D (Yes a little late! But it means I can binge it :D ). All the very best, and have a great Christmas and holiday!
@ always! I will avidly tune in and support however I can. Projects like yours, so creative and passionate, are exactly what we need more of and must be encouraged. I’m very excited to see what lurks beneath the surface, right under our feet! Oh my, I hadn’t expected you would watch our nonsense. But we greatly appreciate it, and even more so that you find some amusement in it all. That’s all we hope to offer. Likewise friend, have a wonderful holidays, Christmas and new year. May the next be full of great things!
This adaption is without doubt the best version that has ever been made and I'm really enjoying it. This in my opinion should be picked up by TV network. Thank you. 👍🏆
Firstly, thanks David, it feels like a deep honour to hear that. It can be hard to know what to say! But it is a real vote of confidence and very much appreciated! I'm kind of a working class animator if you know what I mean, I don't really ask for much, and I just like to entertain and make people happy. So when I hear that, it makes me feel I'm doing what I set out to do. I wouldn't be against actually remaking it once I've finished it (so long as I'm not fatigued and don't have another project that catches my eye!). Or certainly to update and polish what I've already done for a wider audience, that'd be great! But one thing I would really love is to find a way to be as independent as possible, without having to please "the money men". I think that freedom gives creativity it's best playground. Like I say, I don't really want for much. What I'd like is to simply grow my audience big enough that I can continue to create and make interesting things that people enjoy. So long as there is food on the table, and somewhere i can work, everything else (other than the wife of course, who is my number one!) is superfluous. Fingers crossed I can keep growing my audience towards that future. Thank you again for the lovely comment. It really does mean a lot. Kindest regards!
My, god, This is the definition of TERROR. The way you mastered the tension build up in this was incredible! And may I add that the inclusion of the Biped-Martians was done well and in a way the provided exposition to what the Martians are doing to people. The designs were cool too. It's like a way of saying "Yeah, turns out those stereotypical oval eyed aliens actually are no better, nor more advanced than us!" And judging by the sound of things, we're going to soon see the actual "war" part of "The War of the Worlds"! Hope to see humanity's last hope, Thunderchild, in it, too!
Thank you The Guy! I've been so pleased with the reaction to this one, as I really want to explore the Martians, who and what they are, their motivations a lot more. I've said it in a few comments, but as much as action and destruction are great fun, it's the underbelly of it all that makes it truly interesting. I'm so glad I seem to have managed to get it somewhat right. There is plenty more I want to look at. My original idea was to go down the tunnel in this episode, but then I started exploring the cylinder itself, and realised there was too much to put into just one video. So now I'm really excited to take us all deeper into the Martian hellhole! And yes, we'll certainly see the war part soon! That'll be a lot of fun, and hopefully pretty epic. Though, of course, there is more to the war that just the human aspect. So many interesting angles to explore. Thunderchild as an episode will happen more when we hit London a little later on, but I'm hoping to introduce her during Operation Hammer! Lots of fun to be had! Thanks for coming along for the ride and the great comment. All the very best to you! :D
@ I’m glad that I get a to see this epic series as it unfolds! I must admit, I do really enjoy the more expositions episodes, such as the Season 1 radio episodes. It’s almost like listening to the Orson Welles broadcast. They help to set up this feeling like even though you don’t quite know what’s happening, you get this sense of fear and worry, wondering “When will they come for me!?”. Now, on the topic of the Orson Welles broadcast, it seems the bomber plane sequence based off of the broadcast (or perhaps it was the unrealized Harryhausen film, not sure which one but I know one had a very similar sequence). Anyway, I’m really enjoying the series, can’t wait to see what is to come of the alien vampires attack on humanity!
@@The_Guy_is_here The bomber sequence is directly based on the Orson Welles broadcast, as it was done originally for a local theatre production/reading of his script (localised). If you watch the first special feature, you'll hear the Orson Welles script that goes along with it. It's a fun alt take on Flight of the 37's on it's own. Worth a watch, and shows where this whole series began :) Really glad to hear you like the radio episodes. I've done less of them because they seem a little less popular. Instead I'm trying to weave them into the animated episodes, a bit like the opening of Revelations with the army radio. There will be another radio episode coming up though, and it might even be the next episode. I've not decided yet. But it might be good to catch up with Richard Davis!
I love how they are now trying to adapt the humanoids that the martians used as "food for the trip" Definitely a great adaptation that is being made and it is a pleasure to see how it continues and tries to further increase the dimension that the martians represent in this universe, great work
Thank you onecat :) I absolutely love trying to imagine a functioning Martian civilisation, and the reasoning for everything. I want it to feel as authentic as I can, without totally answering all the questions. But I want enough there that the imagination can build it's own bridges. I really appreciate my audience too, who are all brilliant, thoughtful and very observant! Keeps me on my toes!!! Thank you for watching!
4:56 I feel like the Martians are not just one planet species. The fact that they have a hibernation machine could hint that they have other colonies across and maybe outside the solar system.
Dear god its so beautiful 😭🙏, literally the best adaptation of war of the worlds in my opinion, it manages to be the only one to get war/extermination theme really in there. Keep up the good work!
My mother told me once that she actually heard the original Orson Welles radio broadcast, and she thought it was real. She said that her and everyone she knew was scared to death.
Fantastic. Wonderfully atmospheric and plausibly within the world of the novel. That team had some guts entering that thing. The film briefing is genius and certainly doesn't paint an optimistic picture for humanity. More please!
That is great to hear Noah, thank you and I will! I was unsure how this episode would be received, but it has been really popular. I'm rather hoping everyone has the same curiosities that I do and want to look a little deeper...figuratively and actually :) I love exploring other worlds, but even better when other worlds invade and infest!
Oh. My. God. Truly terrifying! Were those "Greys" in the cylinder? Perhaps captured from some other, unknown and conquered world? Ho-lee sh**!!! Absolutely incredible! Well worth the wait. 😊 Whoo-hoo!!!
Ello Sas! I think you'll love it when you find out properly. I had a really cool idea while having dinner with the missus, and it just hit right, so now I know where i'm going with it. I guess they do look a bit Greyish don't they. I wanted something similar enough to humans but recognisably different. Really glad you enjoyed my friend. I sincerely wish you a very Merry Christmas and hope you have a most Happy New Year! Oh, and i'll be doing a live stream at some point over Christmas too which should be fun. Either see you while it's live, or in the comments on the catch up I hope :) All the very best!!
This has quickly become my favourite series on UA-cam. The War of the Worlds is by far my favourite Sci-Fi story of all time, and Analogue Horror is the most interesting new Sub-Genre of Horror, so mixing the two in this way is really amazing to see! Also getting a glimpse at all the other machines from the story that isn't just the Fighting Machines is so refreshing also! My favourite episode so far has to be "Harvesting". That got a "Hell Naw" from me chief, lmfao
Hehehe. Thanks Thorley! I've had so many lovely comments on the series, and each one I appreciate so much. It is so wonderful to hear that, it really is. I kind of think about someone sat watching my little world come to life in the privacy of their space, and it's really a genuine honour to be able to entertain and share it. Sometimes I wish I could be sat watching it with everyone, and enjoy the reactions. It's why I am so grateful for the comments, and when people take the time to share their experience with me. I've spent most of my life doing rather soulless work for corporations who don't really care about the time and love put into the work. They kind of give you a pay cheque, and that's the last you hear from them. So, producing this series has been so amazing to me, to finally hear feedback... especially when it is so supportive and everyone is enjoying it. I never really expected it to be honest. I mean, it was amazing when I just had a 100 subs a couple of years ago. But as the audience grows, it's just been an incredible experience. And like I say, I appreciate every single comment. As for the mix of the two genres. Well, it's funny, because until I started making the series, I wasn't really all that aware of Analogue Horror. I just made the series in a way that felt natural to me, and then I started to hear people mention that it was analogue horror, and i was like... what's that then? But now I do get it, and it really does sit in that genre for sure. Anyway, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts, it truly is appreciated. Have a fantastic week!
Absolutely brilliant, I cannot even begin to describe how much respect and love I have for this series and its creator. Keep doing what ur doing bc it’s probably one of, if not the best adaptation of War of the Worlds.
My friend, thank you, sincerely. I just want to do a good job. It's one of them things where, you always imagine that given the chance, you'd make something worth watching, but actually making that real and giving it your best shot is a bit scary when an audience is watching. So to hear things like that are so humbling, honestly. More than anything, I want to inspire others to take a chance and make things. Anyway, thank you Sikhi, truly. ❤
Oh wow I did not actually expect you to see my comment! Very exciting to have the creator of this masterpiece reply to me themselves. Also just want to let you know my name isn’t Sikhi, Sikhi is the faith I follow
@@60-SecondsSikhi Oh I love reading and replying to the comments! After spending so long with my head buried in making it, getting feedback is so enjoyable and gives me the energy to keep going. Also, as my releases are much slower and less regular than other channels, then I only have a small window to chat with the regulars and everyone who comments. So every release is pretty special to me if you know what I mean. From launching the video, to seeing how she floats, to just catching up with people I've come to know in a little way. As for your name: On the UA-cam backend, there is a section where you can reply to all the comments in one place, but the avatar thumbnails are really really small, whereas here on the video page, I can see your picture properly... which makes it very obvious! :) Anyway, my apologies, I'll call you 60seconds instead, and I should sound less of an idiot lol. Thank you for the correction, and have a great evening!
Dude, this is all so damn amazing! Genuinely incredible. It feels as real as Kane Pixel's work. I specially love (and thank you) for putting the humanoid martian cattle. That is a detail few if no adaptations i'd know of, actually put in to explain why the aliens are eating humans. Thank you, this is inspired as hell. Perhaps one of the best WOTW adaptations i'd seen so far.
Thank you Enocescalona :) I really appreciate that you think it come close to the weirdness of The Backrooms. Really glad you (and others too) liked seeing the Martian biped cattle. It's such an important small detail of the story, and one that will probably be explored a little deeper later on. I am very appreciative of my audience, and I make it to be enjoyed by those that love to explore the stranger aspects of scifi. Though i love doing a bit of action and destruction, it's the weirder things that make it interesting to explore. So i'm glad it's hitting the spot! Thank you for your thoughts and comment! Have a great holiday season! See you again!
Thank you philostroff. It's a bit of a different vid. I didn't expect it to be as popular as it has been. It's really landed well, which is funny, because I was worried people might find it boring and lacking action! Cheers for watching and the lovely comment!
Thank you most kindly Guerilla. I'll be trying to find a way to post a little more often next year. It's been a bit of a tricky year this one. Really glad you're enjoying the videos, they are certainly a labour of love! Cheers for watching!
The way the buttons are aligned on the sides of the terminal make me think the martians might use their mouth tentacles like we do hands as well as feeding with them
nice to get to view what the interior of a Cylinder. Most Books don't usually explore that. Or the inner workings of how they survived the trip to earth. Also, I can see were the digging machine went. cant wait too see what that looks like.
Funnily, that (the Martian digging machine) is already modelled and ready to go. This video was going to be quite different originally, but it was getting so big, i realised I had to split it into 2 parts at least. So a lot of the work I'd originally done is waiting for another episode. The good news is that it should make the next episode a little bit quicker!
@waroftheworlds1934 also good to hear we’re getting a new episode early. Must I say. I like your designs for the blood extraction machine and the terminal. Feels like it’s Martin tech without it having the same exact look too it.
Excelente!!! Realmente atrapa y genera una atmosfera de desazon y miedo. Supera a todas las producciones posteriores. A pesar de los recursos limitados de su epoca. En eso se ve la calidad que la distingue como obra de arte.
Thank you very much SEQ :) I've never done anything at this scale before, so for a first outing, I really do appreciate that! I'm doing my best to entertain though. Thanks for watching and the lovely comment.
I've just binged all your videos. I love what you've done with the story, you've kept it intriguing, faithful and also genuinely terrifying! Well done on staying faithful to the story and you've made some really unique choices which I've not seen anyone else do so far. I spotted the nod as well to the eve of the war, nice little homage. I'm excited to see where you go next with it. World building is such a skill and you've mastered it, excellent work :)
ive always looked up to this unique adaptation since the start, the machine and cylinder designs are top notch, especially when youre closer to the machinery, lets how see how organic and mechanical these guys are, i love the way that theyre designed, props to whoever made the designs, and this is the first time i see an adaptation do this idea, humans going inside the cylinder, from their POV, still looking up to this adaptation
Great job my good man! All of this feels perfect, the balance of light, the setting, everything! The cylinders are super neat! its insanely rare to have an adaptation show the inside of one especially! I also enjoy the implimentation of the "martian cattle", something most adaptations look over. Looking forward to more! 😀
Thank you DedRam! I'm looking forward to making more. It always feels like I'm exploring when I sit down to create anything for the series. It's a lot of fun. Glad you liked the cylinder and the Martian cattle. There is certainly more to it, and in fact i did cut out a significant scene from this episode regarding the Martian biped. And after a discussion with my other half over dinner, we came up with a pretty interesting idea connected to them, and totally brings in a new angle on the invasion. It has my gears turning! There is always more to come! And I think it will only get more and more interesting as it progresses. I have some pretty grand ideas in the cooking pot! Thank you for watching and commenting! :)
Great. Whenever I see an adaptation of Wells's novel, I compare in my head what I see with what I remember from the book (not so that everything is repeated verbatim, but to appreciate the creativity, in this case yours, to the make a new version). This is what the novel said, that the Martians carried creatures in the cylinders to feed themselves. And very well, you gave him a certain human resemblance, so that men would be more terrified of the invasion. Brilliant. Then, everything else that happens in this chapter, they mentioned before and I agree with everything they said. Thank you for the effort you are putting into making the story, 1934 version, so interesting. Greetings from Argentina!
Thank you Diego :D I love exploring the stranger aspects of the story. It's so much fun and adds a depth to the story often missed with simply machines of destruction blowing everything up (which of course is fun, but there are only so many times we need to see that!). So I'm really glad that everyone is enjoying this new angle on it. Quite frankly, it's been a relief to get so many positives back, as I did worry it might be a bit boring if everyone just wanted Tripods all the time. Thankfully, my audience seems to want a little bit more, and encourages me to explore even deeper, and i'm really excited to do so. Thank you for the great comment. All the very best to you from rainy Britain! p.s. I love hearing that my videos are reaching the other side of the world, it's brilliant! Be well!
@waroftheworlds1934 Exactly, friend. We all already know the plot of the novel with tripods, heat rays, black smoke, destruction. The very good thing about War of the Worlds 1934 is everything else, the suspense, the new ships, the aliens, and now the investigation in the cylinder. Again, congratulations. And here I keep an eye out for the new chapters, when they come out on UA-cam.👍👍👍👍
I've only just stumbled upon this series, and after watching every episode so far... Wow. Your work here is absolutely amazing, not since hearing Jeff Wayne's musical version as a young lad have I felt that gut-wrenching breath-holding terror paired with the morbid curiosity to learn more about these creatures, creatures that I am so painfully aware already know all there is to know about me and my species. The way you have so lovingly adapted both the original novel while including elements of many other adaptations, as well as piles of your own brilliant interpretations. Of all the Adaptations of H.G Wells' work yours may be my new favourite! If you don't mind me asking, is this an entirely solo project? The gorgeously detailed illustrations in this episode, the great voice acting, as well as the animation that just gets more and more impressive with each episode, it's honestly inspiring work. Keep doing what you're doing, at your own pace, you've gained another fan and I look forward to whatever you have in store, thank you for creating this, it's really something special.
This is now the definitive adaptation of The War of the Worlds. Moreover, you done one thing the book failed, to study and utilize the technology of the Martians as well as showing us inside the Cylinder. I definitely look forward to seeing the inside of a fighting machine and an autopsy abd diagram of the martian anatomy, maybe if they defeat one and manage to capture a fighting machine to find this as well as study the heat ray and reverse engineer the technology, albeit a primative prototype of it which is not as advanced but it does bear some results and after the first testing allows for further adaptation of the technology. Though honestly, the tech they develop is likely decades if not a century ahead of what they are capable of.
From the description in the book, the Heat Ray is definitely not a plasma cannon of any kind, but probably some kind of IR or UV laser. Its described as being unseen to the eye, visible by the foliage it sets on fire.
Yeah. When it comes to a visual representation though, plasma makes far more sense. It's a tricky thing. I do wonder how it would look doing it with the invisible heatray, but back when i started, i really didn't have access to a decent way to present that. So i ended up making it visible, and it's obviously not uncommon for visual scifi to take this route. But I'd rather have a reasonable scientific reasoning for it than having that discrepancy. It's a tricky balance. My version does have a fair few alterations to the way the book describes things, but I think it's important to have a different approach too, without losing sight of the source. It's a tricky balance.
I really appreciate that Niverian, thank you! More than anything, i just want to make a version that looks at the more strange and deeper aspects of the original, and where that leads the imagination. It's really fun to explore the Martian technology and even philosophy/reasoning. We'll get to see a lot more of it too as we head down the rabbit hole... well, the tunnel :D It's going to be a fun ride and I'm glad you're here for it! Thank you! Have a fantastic Christmas and New year! Kindest regards!!
@waroftheworlds1934 The book describes a scene where some soldiers are hiding in a forest, and a tripod is sweeping the area with heat rays. They see bushes suddenly catch fire out of nowhere, with the burning creeping towards them.
@theloweffortchannel7211 I sorta see it as simular to using a magnifying glass to refract sunlight through the lense to a a point that it catches all around it aflame.
This is why I really like your adaptation of WOTW. Since we see stuff like this. I don't think I've seen a single piece of WOTW media depict the Cylinder with this much detail
Yeah, I think exploring the corners of the Martian invasion is probably the most fun part. I want to explore all of the places and see what we can see! So far as i am aware, I don't think I've seen inside the cylinder in any other version, which in retrospect would seem like a real missed opportunity. But then, I won't complain, as it opens up a whole new place to adventure in! Cheers Thomas :D Glad you enjoyed it!
@waroftheworlds1934 We see a bit of it in the old WOTW games from the 1990's. It actually share some similarities in the interior between yours and their design. mainly the entrance to your Cylinder and their entire cylinder design with rail like structures and those boxes/cylinder structures in the interior. But you add so much depth. While their usage of the cylinder is basically as transport/cover. Just some questions, in your depiction are the tripods/handling machines built on Earth like in the Novel or are they already prebuilt and stored in the Cylinders. Given your giant scale it makes me feel likely it is the latter of the two. Will the Martians equipment improve throughout the series? So far idk how close you are going to keep it to the novel adaptation with most of the Martians dying off within a month and a half. Will yours be longer? Because my only complaint with this series so far is the usage of the Martians heat ray's which are built in the head. Which seems unergonomic having to move the entire superstructure to take out one target for example over a wider distance. It would be interesting to see the Martians tech evolve to cope with Humanity's tactics like ambushes and usage of wider spreading of troops making them develop the tendril heat rays similar to the 2005 adaptation of the tripods. Just an interesting idea that you could look into that nobody has ever explored. I've seen other adaptations and sequels see humanity adapt to Martian tech but never vice versa. Nevertheless it's just a tiny nit-pick by me that's probably something only I hold (Still adore the series btw, my favourite adaptation of the story). You mentioned there were other variants of the Handling machine. Will we see other variants in the story? I assume you'll be treating the trenching machine as it's own separate variant. Will we see any new and original variants similar to how the games added the Scout Tripod and the Tempest from the 1990's strategy game? When the invasion is over. Will you continue the series? like maybe documentaries from a post war perspective on the Martian invasion like we see the the great Martian war (It's free on YT iirc) or maybe a sequel series set sometime afterwards (I'd say 20 to 30 years) where we see Earth reverse engineer and go to Mars. Sorta similar to the Scarlet Traces series and investigate how Martian Culture is like in more detail. Whether they are like resource draining expansionists or just on a planet that is dying and trying to survive on their planetary neighbour. BTW whenever I see a discussion on WOTW I recommend your channel to others to watch it. Heres the vid showing the other design from the 1990s game. ua-cam.com/video/fKQvjSlBGNM/v-deo.html Also had a dream related to this vid. I was in the body of one of the those three men and multiple Martian handling machine's came into the cylinder and me and the camera man had to sneak our way past mostly hiding behind object and once we saw the main opening was close we just ran as fast and as far as our feet could carry
@@thomasmc200 Hey Thom. I totally get your thoughts on the heatray housing, and the gripes that come with it. I do have some thoughts on that. Without spoiling it, I am considering introducing some alternative designs, mainly because the tripods we see in the series so far are more like the heavy cannons. The bulk of the "head" containing the generators to project the super heat ray. So, think of it in terms of the ubercannon, Schwerer Gustav. Those tripods primary goals upon leaving the cylinders were the power stations and large targets, but as we see in Flight of the 37's, they're reasonably versatile too. But as you say, it comes with limitations. With Operation Hammer coming up, there may be a surprise or two in there. That's all I will say without spoiling anything, and I will keep yours and others thoughts in mind while I make it. Regarding whether they were transported and assembled, yes, in part. Though there is a key bit of info coming up, possibly in the next video that will help to explain it. It's probably not what you might expect, but hopefully will make sense, given their advanced nature. Though, certain machines like the handling were most likely contained ready to go in the cylinders upon landing. You'll have to forgive me being a bit cagey, as I don't want to spoil future revelations as it were, and until I get to it, it's hard to know what will be spoiler and what won't. One thing I will say, is that I intend the invasion to be longer than 6 weeks I think. There are some ideas I really want to explore which extend and magnify ideas from the book, and for that to really work, I think I need to give it a little more time. How much, I'm unsure. It has always bothered me the sudden death of the Martians, like they all just die at once. It seems a bit silly and unrealistic... more of a narrative convenience. I'd say, expect a bit more of a realistic take on that event. The other variants on the Handling Machine, yes, absolutely! Id have liked to have shown one already, but time has been against me a bit. But when the right moment comes, we'll see it for sure. Honestly I have more ideas than I have time. Sometimes I could work and work on something forever, but then I'd never get it out. So I have to kind of balance things. Responsive adaption to human attacks, yes, that's also quite possible. The thing is, I have a broad map in my head of where I am going, and certain destinations, but it isn't all mapped out. It's more like a jigsaw puzzle... I know what it's meant to look like when finished, but until I start putting the pieces in, it's cloudy as to how it fits together. But i am operating on a certain logic and understanding of the Martians that serves how I answer the questions that come up and solutions I use. Making this series is very different to how I'd approach a straight forward story. A lot of ideas appear as i am creating, and it's what keeps me motivated and engaged. Staying invested in making something over such a long period of time requires it, and keeps it fun to do. Did I answer all of your questions? I think I did :) I'm not sure if they are as full as you might have liked, or definitive, but it can be difficult to answer things for certain when still mid-production. But I will keep your thoughts in mind, and hopefully you'll see a few answers on screen in the future :) Thanks for taking the time to write all that. Love it! Right, I've got a tonne of things to do today, so I'd better get on!!! All the best!
@waroftheworlds1934 Well awesome vid bro and when I'm not broke gonna send you some money for this awesome series! I can't wait for the next episode! I wonder if the Martians are more like a race pushed into a war like the Jeff Wayne games or the Great Martian War or an invading species to conquer a new planet like the 2005 or 1953 one. But given the way it looked at the camera and how it kept the martian bipeds I believe they aren't as nice as the first option. Would be interesting to see if maybe there is some link between man and the martian biped. Maybe the Martians seeded life on Earth? Maybe it's like those super old scifi books where there are humans/human like aliens on different planets
Good to see you again Phaasch, and glad the wait was worthwhile. I so wish i could get videos out a little quicker, I really do. I hate making everyone wait (and it's terrible for the algorithm!), but it's a bit like baking a cake. It's done when it's done. So I'm thankful when it is well received! Hope you have an excellent Christmas and New year! All the best!
There was a comic series, based in Alan Moore's "League of Extraordinary Gentleman" universe, that posited H.G. Well's Martians were not actually from Mars, but merely using that as a stepping stone to Earth. Nice to see it being re-used/replicated here.
Thanks Glory! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too! Hope you have a great one. Glad you enjoyed the vid, but yes, there's always more to find and a deeper rabbithole to explore. It's going to be fun! Keep well and enjoy the holidays!
Wow what an unexpected Christmas gift !!! From the high stakes drama of the last episode to this with its intimate horror always enthralled by WOTW1934 !!! Fantastic as usual my friend and what a genuine treat, some genuinely fantastic world building and as others have pointed out the first ever outing for the Martian bipeds!!! Am so very excited for where this series is going because for once in the entire history of wotw adaptations I am not confident I can predict what you are going to do next and am certainly not sure mankind is going to get out of this one either way it’s very exciting.
Mr Decline! Always always good to see you in the comments, and your vids have been great at keeping me happy as i work :D Yeah, it's fun to see some new things that haven't been done. The book is so chock full of exploration that it almost seems wasteful to keep covering the same ground, and it's been excellent to hear that these details are being enjoyed. Honestly, i still have a few rabbits in my hat to pull out, and I have zero idea as to whether i can pull it off, but it'll be interesting to find out! I have some kind of vague map in my head and a destination to arrive at, and it's amazing I've made it this far! I shall endeavour to keep going! Glad you enjoyed my friend :) Catch you soon! p.s. I really enjoyed your T2 vid!
Thank you! Yes, I will have to play that game. It has come up so many times in the comments over the last 2 years. I'm intrigued to know what it's like.
I love the Alien-esque Derelict exploration of the Cylinder interior. Despite the pre war era setting this is both faithful to the origonal book while expanding upon it in a logical way. Wonderful atmosphere, very well done. :)
Thanks timelapse! And good to see you again :) I'm so enjoying making the series, even though the amount of work can be a bit of a strain at times. But it's always worth it once i share it and it's enjoyed. It's also a relief when it is positively received too lol. I always get a bit nervous when I put a video out, but thankfully quality control is at the behest of my wife, who has an excellent eye for what works and what doesn't. Though her brutal honesty can be scary too lol. Thanks for watching and commenting my friend :) Have a great christmas!
@waroftheworlds1934 You have done an excellent job of this mate. Take your time over it. Fantastic work you have been doing. Have a great Xmas and New Year too. :)
Wow, that's awesome to hear. I was a little concerned (as usually happens when spending so long looking at it) that this episode might be a bit boring for viewers! I really wasn't sure, so it's a real relief to hear that. It also opens up possibilities of the kind of thing that people want to see. There are only so many action sequences one can do of tripods and all that, and I think I'd rather they were compressed into focused videos. I rather enjoy imagining the Martian tech and world. It feels like exploring and gets my juices going. But fear not, there is certainly a fair bit more I want to explore with Operation Sentinel, in fact, really, this is merely the opener. :) I'm not sure I can push it to 120 minutes, but we'll certainly get a fair bit more! Maybe one day, if i can get a big enough audience and a spot of budget I can expand on it or do some spin offs, which would be fun! Thanks for watching and the comment DD, really appreciated! Have a great Christmas!
@waroftheworlds1934 It was not as action packed as the others but it did provide a sneak peek in to a very interesting event within the whole story of the Martian invasion. While the invasion in general is more about survival and tactics, this episode is more about discovery and exploration of the unknown which I personally find very interesting. So your fear of this episode being boring was completely unfounded in my opinion.
Woke up this morning to this masterpiece! The amount of actual depth and lore this WOTW adaptation gives really has amazed me from the start, and still does now! Showing the actual insides of the Cylinder and their futuristic technologies! Absolutely stunning! I also suppose the tunnel under the cylinder might be a cave of where Martians build the tripods and handling machines? And where they further develop their plans as time goes?
Hello my friend, good to see you! Really glad you're enjoying the new exploration... and there's going to be plenty to look at as they find out where the tunnel leads. Originally, it was all going to be in this one video, but the more I got into it, i realised that it's going to be a lot more in depth than I first thought. So finding the tunnel seemed to be the most logical point to end this episode. I think it will only get more and more interesting, and we'll see where it takes us! I have to say, it really is fun to explore this world! Hope all is well with you, and that you're looking forward to a bit of a seasonal break from the grind! Kindest regards!
@ All is well here! Hope the same to you aswell, I wonder if we end up seeing the insides of the tripods or flying machines if they got destroyed or something as the series progresses!
@@PAKAviation2219 I've had a few who want to see inside, so I've probably got to do it at some point. I think I want to see it too. It's more finding the right excuse! Shouldn't be too hard though!
Great to see another one of your productions. As far as I know, all of this cylinder interior and cylinder tunnel idea is all your own ? Absolutely brilliant extension of the story line ! If someone could put all of this into a new Hollywood feature film you would be a millionaire by this time next year 😉 I can just pick up a northern accent in the period voices ? Words like “construction” and “discuss” 🤔🤣
Firstly, thank you and I'm really glad you enjoyed it! re: The cylinder, yes. It is the first of a few twists and turns I have planned. I actually set it up way way back at the start with the first radio broadcast, but no one seems to have picked up on that yet. The radio broadcasts, for obvious reasons aren't as watched as the more animated ones. But I did hint at it, but have been very pleased that no one guessed before the reveal! But this is going to open up a way to explore the Martians a little more, in the same way as the second half of the book looks back on the invasion and what was left behind. I'd rather weave that into the series as we go along as opposed to a retrospective. I think the ending, whenever we get there, should be a proper ending, and not to have too much of an appendix afterwards. It'd be great to get a decent size audience before the series finishes. I can then have a little budget to play with to give it a strong ending. I'm not really money motivated, but that said, a little would be nice lol. But it keeps me creative, so I'm not going to complain. Making people happy and being able to entertain is a reward unlike anything else. You made me laugh regarding the accent lol. Yes, my midlander twang comes through here and there. :D Thanks for the great comment and taking the time to watch! All the very best!
@ Great to hear that you are not money motivated, and to read in other comments that you have a supportive lady who reviews your work with “fresh eyes”. How is a nice bloke like yourself able to present this timeless classic in such a menacing, disturbing way ? 🤣 Stay well 👍🏻
@@mandst5466 lol, I like to consider myself balanced. One can only know the light if one knows the dark... but far better to express the dark side in a creative way. Well, that's my theory hehe.
OK this reminds me of two things i love to bits FIRST resistance fall of man where its an alt history where humanity is fighting a war agains a significantly more advanced alien race called the chimera and SECOND the fantastic graphic novel Scarlet traces which also explores the AFTER of the war of the worlds and is equally incredible alt history stuff
Kryteeeeen! (as said in Lister's voice) :D I'm familiar with First resistance fall of man (through videos of it at least, though I've not had chance to play it yet). It's come up a few times in the comments over the last couple of years, and it's been highly recommended. I'll get to it eventually I'm sure! But Scarlet traces, I can't say as I have heard of that one, and it sounds very interesting! As with all these things, I've got a list of things to enjoy after I finish the series, as I am being super cautious not to let other works colour or influence me while I'm still making the series. I don't want to accidentally copy anyone, and want it to be it's own thing as much as possible, while still remaining faithful to the ideas of the book, but also the Orson Welles version too, which I think was another fantastic approach to it. In fact, the Welles version was actually the genesis of this series, as all of this was born from a local stage play reading of his version. The early videos of the series were projected behind the actors on the stage to bring it all to life. The Flight of the 37s is directly based upon the bombing sequence. You can see it as it was performed in the special features video. :) Anyway, really glad you're enjoying it! Thank you for the comment and recommendations!
@waroftheworlds1934 no problem to all that my dude and as a writer myself i can totally get the struggle of it and also so glad you mentioned the orson welles broadcast one of my favorites and ive had the same idea myself but just didn't have the fire in my furnace to really pursue it so im so glad that some one else is with such fantastic results im definitely going to be keeping an eye on this from here on out (also great to find another boy from the dwarf =D)
Just two observations - The British would not have been using metric back then. And I am not sure they would describe any weapon as a plasma something..... Beyond that the whole series is absolutely brilliant!!! The ascetics are completely off the charts. I have been a War Of The Worlds fan for over 50 years, and this is really a quality addition to the universe created by Wells.
In the novel, diameter of the side the lid was on was about 90 feet, the cylinder truly is massive. Something you'd need to transport materials and supplies needed for construction and as means of an initial base.
I don't think they would shoot wide format in 1934. 4:3 was standard. And I don't think there was much if any black-and-white film that would work in such low light. You might need a couple of guys carrying batteries and some of those quad movie lights. I love the concept, and the artwork and modeling are fantastic. I'll have to go back and watch all your vids. I like where you're going!
Yes, absolutely. It's simply an artistic choice. If you went back to the start, you'll see I opened with 8mm film, or more reminiscent of it. I kind of want people just drawn into it, because some episodes are more cinematic and unreal. The noise and the degradation serve more to obscure the detail and give space for the imagination to play, and obviously lean into the concept. But I have to bend the rules in service of the story/animation. It's vignettes, and each one can be a bit different, though I try to keep it somewhere in the region of "acceptable enough" and "it's enough to get me get into the feel of the story". So that kind of accuracy would hinder what i'm trying to do more than help it, even though it would also be interesting to make it more historically accurate. It wouldn't be much fun if all we saw was black lol. Though it would make my job much easier! Anyway, thanks for the great comment, and i hope you enjoy the rest of the series. It's only going to get better, I'm sure of it. It's really only just getting going!
i got a plush maratian crowshay and a gell blaster and a star war book and copys of war of the worlds gloaith and the 1953 film pluse war of the worlds tapestery and some new slip ons sohes
Thanks Joyker. I don't know if you saw my comment in the chat, but the discord link can be found early on in the community posts. the picture is red with a tripod firing it's heatray, and it has DISCORD written across it. But I have to admit, I struggle to use it much as I'm normally just workin workin workin. I started it more at the behest of a few of the subscribers. I do occasionally pop in though. I keep promising to spend more time on there, but it's a real struggle! Anyways, thank you for being at the premiere and really glad you enjoyed it!
The exploration of the Martian cylinder was done wonderfully. There’s always been an element of mystery about the innards of the cylinders, which always left my mind racing with theories and whatnot. The limitations of the production also still leave a lot to the imagination but in a very very good way, thanks to the few haunting looks we get to see carrying so many implications. The seemingly endless pit is a brilliant concept and leads me to wonder if back home the Martians live underground too? And The Bipedal grey aliens… It’s nice to finally see The Bipedal cattle Martians used in an adaptation, although I do find the design a little amusing as it is a Grey in essence. It leads to the question though, what exactly took place on Mars to lead to all of this? What about the Bipedal Martians? Did they evolve similarly to humans? They possess enlarged heads which would surely indicate so. They have hands that could build and use tools and so on. Are they distant cousins to the Martians? Or Are they the remnants of what The Martians were before… something happened… one side became the sophisticated and brilliant cold beings who are unmatched in their technological capability and equally so reliant on said technology they evolved into… what they are now. And the other side were bred, after generation and generation, into mere cattle. It begs to question however, if they have such large brains, are they sentient? Merely suppressed? There’s a running theme of cold technology suppressing genuine consciousness and life here. The Martians, behaviourally, may as well be an invasive force of nature with a tinge more sophistication but take one look at the microbial world and their level of sophistication and ability to invade other bodies, borderline tactically, paints a grim portrait of the Martians’ existence. That’s how stunted and machine-like they have become. Also, if I had to guess, it’ll be from further examination of a Grey down the line, that tips off the UK that germs and infection are the key.
TGM, my friend! I always look out for your comment and thoughts. You never fail to deliver on thought provocation and analysis. I think you've been a real influence on the series through our various conversations, it really is appreciated. You have a great mind, and really do think deeply about the implications of everything. And of course, your comment here is as good as ever! Funnily, over dinner with the missus, we stumbled upon a really cool idea that speaks to your thoughts here, which i am dying to share but would be a terrible spoiler!!! The difficulty i face is how I explain the idea within the confines of how the story is being told, though I'm sure i will find a way. Huh.. In fact, just sat here, the way to do it just popped in my head. This is why I'm very thankful for your thoughts! They get my brain working :) I think you'd approve of the idea, and I'm already looking forward to your reaction when it finally makes it on to the screen. I'm really glad you're picking up on the themes of it all, and as always you're spot on. What makes me a little giddy, is that I know I've got a few surprises that will delight you further down the line. *giggles like a little girl* hehe. Beyond that, I hope all is well with you and you're looking forward to the holidays and a bit of relaxation. It's been a bit of a funny year in the world, so I'm rather hoping everyone gets to just enjoy Christmas and have some fun. Thank you as always for the considered and great comments. Maybe see you at the Christmas live show! But if not, I wish you a Merry Christmas and a great new year!
@ Your words are too kind. I wish you a Merry Christmas as well, you definitely deserve a relaxing holiday after all this work! And now I’m even more excited for this series’ continuation… If time permits it, I’ll be sure to drop by the Christmas stream. I’m expecting more twists and turns as we go on. This adaptation perfectly translates the visceral horror and the eerie, bleak and paranoid atmosphere of the book, better than any ever. And this particular medium helps concentrate the necessary components, there’s no room for any kind of filler. But I imagine it can also be restricting, since everything has to be on some level ‘found footage’. Still limitations breed creativity.
@TGM_Productions I mean every word. You're most appreciated. Aye no pressure on the livestream, it's just a bit of festive fun for those that want a knees up. And yes, you're absolutely right regarding the limitations, it really pushes me to be creative. It's a real exercise!
Finally. A WOTW that examines the inner workings of a Martian Cylinder, other than Jeff Wayne's which briefly showed the section of a cylinder's command center. Also, Sentinel?? Is that a dig at Resistance: Fall of Man 2?
I've not played it, but it has come up in the comments a lot. So, no, no digs at anything or anyone :) Any similarities to anything other than War of the Worlds is purely coincidental. Really pleased you enjoyed it, and looking somewhere new! Plenty more where that came from in future episodes. Hopefully see you there sonofeye. Have a great new year!
I did a War of the World's pencil and paper RPG once and the players came to the conclusion they wanted to sap one of the Cylinders, and that made me wonder why we had never seen that before, so it's cool to see here.
Well, I suppose that once the tripods appear, all attention turns to them. I've never done an RPG. I grew up out in the sticks, so I never really had anyone to play with and had to keep myself entertained (probably explains a lot lol). But I really fancied it when i was younger, and had a really cool Star Wars one, that i'd read a lot. I loved all the lore in it, but never got to play. A War of the Worlds RPG sounds excellent!! I love it when people are creative, and you must have an excellent imagination! :)
@waroftheworlds1934 it was a lot of fun, we set it during the book, 3 of the 4 players were Royal Engineers, the 4th was a farmer from outside Pyrford. We implied heavily that the 3 engineer player characters were the engineers the Narrator meets at the beginning of the invasion. They all 4 survived the initial attack on Woking, and I left it up to them as to how to progress. They all decided to hit back, so they snuck into the Addlestone cylinder, shot a couple Martians with a Martini Henry's, dynamited a handling machine and blew the cylinder to blazes. It was all quite fun.
@@adambell9188 That sounds brilliant actually! Yeah I imagine that was a load of fun. Speaking of RPGs, one thing I stumbled upon back when I started making the series was an old geocities website where someone was constructing a whole War of the Worlds RPG, but also involved other H G Wells elements too. It was really cool, but seemingly abandoned. Worth a look... I'm not sure if I can paste links in comments... hopefully I can... geocities.restorativland.org/TimesSquare/Galaxy/3773/waroftheworlds/ It kind of surprises me that it hasn't been properly done as an RPG, it's ideal for it really.
Where’s the next episode? We *NEED* a 20th episode.
I just found this excellent series and think it is the best ever & have binge watched them all & now want more when can we expect the next episodes & btw it is a perfect companion to the Great Martian War '13- '17 😍👽👾🤯
@MemerBoy420-q9g I want to know that too & just not a 20th hopefully 20 eps. more please don't keep us hanging too long 🤔🧐😍
I don't think I've ever seen anyone come up with the concept of actually going inside the Martian cylinders before and this was so incredibly effective
Thanks Max! And it's only the beginning of this particular storyline!!!
Actualy there is one other I know of with a ruff idea on the cylinders interier and its one of the later levels in a 2d side scroll game.
oh yeah was that from the PS3/Xbox360 game? I never got my hands on a copy as it’s so rare
@maxtblitz yeah that's the one it's not very good though.
Wrong, the bipedal martians were scene in the Martian cutscene of the WOTW strategy game that came out in 1998.
@@vanguard6498 oh yeah... i forgot about that.....
now i get why this took so long. this is an absolute masterpiece. i wish i could say more but i genuinely cant come up with anything that could describe how i feel about this video. just a masterpiece.
Wow, Thank you Sirasparagus! I've said it elsewhere, but i worried it might be a bit boring! So I'm glad I don't listen to myself lol. Really pleased you enjoyed it, and thank you for the awesome comment!
I can agree. It's a masterpiece.
I like how the cylinders look organic, and they are not just big hunks of metal. Nicely done.
Thanks Lizardcorp. Yes, I want it all to be a little more alien!
Yeah I honestly think it's a excellent design.
Biomechanical FTW.
:D And yes, it'll be interesting to see what them scientists come up with for our boys in the trenches!
wrong the haeat ays in this are no difent frm the ones in the novel
The artilleryman is going to lose it when he accidentally digs into a Martian mine right under his brave new world.
Hehehe
Lollll he won’t know what to do 😂😂

9:29 The 26 characters of the Martian script look oddly familiar..... It shouldn't be too difficult to crack the code.
Im a big fan reddalek nice to see you here
I hope underfooked 7 comes out soon
@waroftheworlds1934 Are the Martins tunneling to other cylinders to make some kind of secret base?
Worth a watch, and shows where this whole series began :)
Really glad to hear you like the radio episodes.
@waroftheworlds1934 Yeah, hopefully our old pal Richy Davis is surviving well!
stumbled upon your videos. Well done! Can't wait for the Thunderchild video.
I love how they are now trying to adapt the humanoids that the martians used as "food for the trip"
Definitely a great adaptation that is being made and it is a pleasure to see how it continues and tries to further increase the dimension that the martians represent in this universe, great work
Thank you onecat :) I absolutely love trying to imagine a functioning Martian civilisation, and the reasoning for everything. I want it to feel as authentic as I can, without totally answering all the questions. But I want enough there that the imagination can build it's own bridges. I really appreciate my audience too, who are all brilliant, thoughtful and very observant! Keeps me on my toes!!! Thank you for watching!
Excellent all around and a great concept.
MORE PLEASE!
Thank you Grunthos :D More on the way!
4:56 I feel like the Martians are not just one planet species. The fact that they have a hibernation machine could hint that they have other colonies across and maybe outside the solar system.
Interesting theory :) I think you will enjoy the series as it pans out!
Thanks for watching!
@waroftheworlds1934 This is one of my favorite series on UA-cam it's up there in my top three.
@@entityv.2830 That's flippin awesome :) TY!
I thought the same thing.
Dear god its so beautiful 😭🙏, literally the best adaptation of war of the worlds in my opinion, it manages to be the only one to get war/extermination theme really in there. Keep up the good work!
Doing my best! Thanks for the great comment, and to hear that is a very big honour, seriously. Thank you :)
My mother told me once that she actually heard the original Orson Welles radio broadcast, and she thought it was real. She said that her and everyone she knew was scared to death.
You are a magical man! I need 15 years or so to tell you what a great job you have done. You are an incredibly wonderful person!
Thank you Emre! You are far too kind! Really glad you are enjoying it :)
Fantastic. Wonderfully atmospheric and plausibly within the world of the novel. That team had some guts entering that thing. The film briefing is genius and certainly doesn't paint an optimistic picture for humanity. More please!
I’m REALLY liking where this series is going! Keep up the good work!
That is great to hear Noah, thank you and I will!
I was unsure how this episode would be received, but it has been really popular. I'm rather hoping everyone has the same curiosities that I do and want to look a little deeper...figuratively and actually :)
I love exploring other worlds, but even better when other worlds invade and infest!
Oh. My. God. Truly terrifying! Were those "Greys" in the cylinder? Perhaps captured from some other, unknown and conquered world? Ho-lee sh**!!! Absolutely incredible! Well worth the wait. 😊 Whoo-hoo!!!
In the WOTW strategy game it’s shown that the Martians captured other alien creatures to test the black smoke on
Either see you while it's live, or in the comments on the catch up I hope :)
All the very best!!
Oooo, that's interesting. never heard that before, nor played the game. Very cool!
Love the whole series, actually stellar work cant wait for more.
Your work on these aliens is amazing.
Anyway, my apologies, I'll call you 60seconds instead, and I should sound less of an idiot lol.
Another brilliant installment that utilizes the source material well. Great work, buddy!
Thank you philostroff. It's a bit of a different vid. I didn't expect it to be as popular as it has been. It's really landed well, which is funny, because I was worried people might find it boring and lacking action!
Cheers for watching and the lovely comment!
Always an absolute gem whenever you post, fantastic atmosphere and tone! Amazing job!
Thank you most kindly Guerilla. I'll be trying to find a way to post a little more often next year. It's been a bit of a tricky year this one. Really glad you're enjoying the videos, they are certainly a labour of love! Cheers for watching!
The way the buttons are aligned on the sides of the terminal make me think the martians might use their mouth tentacles like we do hands as well as feeding with them
This is so great! Looking forward for more.
nice to get to view what the interior of a Cylinder. Most Books don't usually explore that. Or the inner workings of how they survived the trip to earth. Also, I can see were the digging machine went. cant wait too see what that looks like.
You Don't see many adaptions of the story talk about the digging machine. its going to be interesting seeing your interpretation of it.
@waroftheworlds1934 still can’t wait too see it. Be nice too see such a not well remembered part of the book get a fresh coat of paint.
@waroftheworlds1934 also good to hear we’re getting a new episode early. Must I say. I like your designs for the blood extraction machine and the terminal. Feels like it’s Martin tech without it having the same exact look too it.
@waroftheworlds1934
I still wonder how they survive the impact of the cylinder hitting the ground
This series just keeps getting better and better!
Excelente!!!
This has been truly exceptional work all the way through. I can't wait to see more.
I loved it, it’s very different from the rest.
Thanks Red! Yeah, a bit of a reset. Kind of a second season opening
Your storytelling skills are top-notch, to say the least. From start to finish, the user is 100% enthralled by your production.
Thank you most kindly :) I really appreciate that.
ive always looked up to this unique adaptation since the start, the machine and cylinder designs are top notch, especially when youre closer to the machinery, lets how see how organic and mechanical these guys are, i love the way that theyre designed, props to whoever made the designs, and this is the first time i see an adaptation do this idea, humans going inside the cylinder, from their POV, still looking up to this adaptation
It is 18 December 2024 and I only just discovered your channel. Subscribed! 👽👽👽👾
Welcome aboard Ravens! I'm looking forward to seeing you in the future :D
@waroftheworlds1934 Already put you on my notifications! Looking forward to your next installment! 😻
Thank you , and it's already cooking!
Once again UA-cam produced content 100% better than anything a Hollywood studio could come up with.
Tunnels or no tunnels, our lads will be home by Christmas!
And if not, they'll take Christmas to the Martians!
@waroftheworlds1934 The War of the Worlds Christmas Special
Awesome work, a nice surprise for a Saturday evening.
Even nicer for me to get it out the door I can tell you! Enjoy your weekend Boris!
Another absolutely brilliant episode. Thank you for your dedication.
Hey there Salvo, good to see you and thank you for coming back to watch again! I'll keep going until it's done all being well!
I didn’t get to see these designs,
I missed everything, THIS LOOKS GOOD
Thanks Warmachine!

Also had a dream related to this vid.
But I will keep your thoughts in mind, and hopefully you'll see a few answers on screen in the future :)
Thanks for taking the time to write all that.
A really welcome return, and each time, the theme grows darker, and a little more horrific, yet beautifully imagined.
This was really worth the wait.
Absolutely wonderful! Worth the wait, but I can't wait until the next video! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Thanks Glory! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too! Hope you have a great one.
Glad you enjoyed the vid, but yes, there's always more to find and a deeper rabbithole to explore. It's going to be fun! Keep well and enjoy the holidays!
Oh WOW. You've hooked me..Can't wait for the next episode!!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you Cursecat, the next one is already in the works!
Absolutely 💯 awesome 👏 can’t wait for the next one as always 👏👏👏
Thank you Robert! It has already begun.
I have been waiting so long for u to post LOVE THE VID!
Thanks for hanging in there Abel. These episodes can be long to produce, so I really do appreciate your patience! Cheers :)
Mr Decline! Always always good to see you in the comments, and your vids have been great at keeping me happy as i work :D
Yeah, it's fun to see some new things that haven't been done.
This is just incredible work. Well done
I love this! Thank You! Subscribed. Best Regards and Best Wishes!.
Thank you, and great to have you onboard.
This is amazing work, congrats. the presentation at the start reminds me of the game resistance: fall of man
@@happisakshappiplace.6588 Cheers happisak :) Have a great Christmas and New year yourself as well!
This is a wonderful Christmas present 🎉 thank you!!! Can’t wait for the theatrical release! If you ever need actors let me know !
Cheers, and glad to oblige! re acting, OK, I'll keep that in mind. Thank you. Are you British, US?
This is super fascinating! Awesome as always!
Thank you :)
Yet another excellent addition, with concerning revelations for the future of our species.
Thanks defAI :D And yes, it isn't looking good for mankind!
Best episode so far. Would love to see a full featured 120 minutes long movie of Operation Sentinel.
I'm not sure I can push it to 120 minutes, but we'll certainly get a fair bit more!
Maybe one day, if i can get a big enough audience and a spot of budget I can expand on it or do some spin offs, which would be fun!
Thanks for watching and the comment DD, really appreciated! Have a great Christmas!
@waroftheworlds1934 Do not be concerned! The more world-building and lore, the better!
This was absolutely fantastic wow.
Muy buen trabajo bro esto si tiene de lo mejor
¡Gracias Alex! ¡Realmente lo aprecio!
@waroftheworlds1934 saludos desde paraguay
"We can't even get near Coventry"
M6 doing the job of Martians in the 21st century 😊
lol, yes
Thanks for the great comment and taking the time to watch!
@waroftheworlds1934 Fair play, looking forward to the next instalment 👍🏻
"It looks bigger on the inside then the outside" OH NO, It's Time Lord Technology!
You should win an award for this!
Bless you Michael :) Who knows, maybe one day! But i appreciate the thought more than anything, thank you!
Love the WOTW story!!! This is an amazing adaptation!!!!
Thank you John, i'll try to keep it interesting and hopefully get better over time.
Marvellous, bravo!
Thanks Tommix!
Absolutely brilliant! Everyone always forgets about the little transparent men they bring with them to eat.
It just had to be done! Originally he had 3 eyes hehe, but the wife said it was stupid :D Glad you liked the 2 eyed version!
This was a beautiful episode
Heya Goldman, good to see you as always. Thank you, rally glad you enjoyed it!
Kryteeeeen! (as said in Lister's voice) :D
I'm familiar with First resistance fall of man (through videos of it at least, though I've not had chance to play it yet).
Anyway, really glad you're enjoying it!
@@kryten39 Boys from the dwaaaaaarf *wiggles hands* lol. I bloody love Red Dwarf. Thanks again Krytie!
@waroftheworlds1934 yes sir ;D
THE CYLINDER IS THAT BIG- 💀
Ye gads! It's a monster! :D
In the novel, diameter of the side the lid was on was about 90 feet, the cylinder truly is massive. Something you'd need to transport materials and supplies needed for construction and as means of an initial base.
True it needs a lot of room for supplies!
Staggeringly good
Craig, thank you!
This one is actually very interesting because it shows the interior of the cylinder, this is a nice adaptation
Thanks Cornious!
When is the rest coming out?!?
Well done!
Thanks Robert :)
Watching it right now, uncle jeff!!
Awesome :) And thanks for donation, that was very kind of you, and really appreciated! Hope you enjoy the vid!
It's really only just getting going!
this is amazing i am a die hard die hard war of the worlds fan so this is golden love oncore
Cheers Bedford! :D More to come, as always!
i got a plush maratian crowshay and a gell blaster and a star war book and copys of war of the worlds gloaith and the 1953 film pluse war of the worlds tapestery and some new slip ons sohes
Sincerely one of rhe best adaptations of WotW ever.
Thanks Adam! :)
Exceedingly well done
Thank you most kindly Brooks!
Absolute Cinema 🙌
Thanks Joyker. I don't know if you saw my comment in the chat, but the discord link can be found early on in the community posts. the picture is red with a tripod firing it's heatray, and it has DISCORD written across it. But I have to admit, I struggle to use it much as I'm normally just workin workin workin. I started it more at the behest of a few of the subscribers. I do occasionally pop in though. I keep promising to spend more time on there, but it's a real struggle!
Anyways, thank you for being at the premiere and really glad you enjoyed it!
this is awesome!
Really glad you enjoyed Les! :D Thanks you!
And The Bipedal grey aliens…
It’s nice to finally see The Bipedal cattle Martians used in an adaptation, although I do find the design a little amusing as it is a Grey in essence.
And now I’m even more excited for this series’ continuation…
If time permits it, I’ll be sure to drop by the Christmas stream.
@waroftheworlds1934 I wish they would re-release Resistance.
This is perfection
Thanks Furycat :) Always good to see you!
I really like this development, considering that
the Martians would have to live underground to survive the harsh conditions there.
Exactly. A controlled environment. :)
I think the martian control panel is showing the progress of the operation and positions
I'm not sure if I can paste links in comments... hopefully I can...
geocities.restorativland.org/TimesSquare/Galaxy/3773/waroftheworlds/
It kind of surprises me that it hasn't been properly done as an RPG, it's ideal for it really.
@waroftheworlds1934 I actually used this site as the basis for the system we created for the game
No way! How funny :D
i like ur animations!!
Thanks Ali :D
I love the inclusion of the Martian Bipeds
Yes, a much glossed over facet of the story! Glad you liked :)
