This has surpassed my expectations in so many ways. Wonderful work yet again. The highlight for sure is finally getting a peak at the Martian, voyeuristically spying it feasting on a poor soul. The expression it has, the way its skin and muscles move is brilliant. You’re really spoiling us with this series. You don’t disappoint!
Always good to see you reddalek! Very pleased I'm seemingly getting it right. I've said this a few times in the comments, but I was a bit nervous about how fans of the story would take my Martian. I know a lot of people have conjured images in their heads of what they should be, and they're rather iconic, even though they've been portrayed in many different ways, but I was inspired by the books description mainly. The coolest bit to me, is that I did all this work and only near the end did I find out that Ray Harryhausen had given it a shot too. When I saw it, and the parallels between our interpretations, it made me super happy. Not quite the same, but we'd clearly seen similar things in our minds from the books description. Thank you again for watching, I really appreciate the support and my growing family. I hope I can continue to entertain as we dive deeper into the Martian abyss! Be well and have fun! All the best! :)
WOW!!! Brilliant, ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! When I first read the story, I was terrified during the part where the martians grab the curate, and search for the narrator. I always imagined it was me in the dark, just out of reach of the searching tentacles, trying my best to remain silent as the grave. Watching the martian closeup like that, and seeing it stare straight at me, I actually froze and held my breath! I was back in that moment of true fear again. WOW!! Cannot wait until the next chapter! WELL DONE, AS USUAL!!
Thank you Glory. Yes, I tried to get the eyes just right with a little subtle movement, and give it a moment to look right at you :D It makes me very happy to have got it right! And now we've met the monster, we can start to explore it's world a bit. Let's see where it takes us! See you at the next one! Until then, stay good ;)
@@rapatacush3 Not sure if you've seen my comments on this somewhere below, but what's awesome is that I hadn't seen Ray's version until just a few weeks ago. When I look at them side by side, it's crazy how close we imagined it based on the books description. Pleases me greatly, and I really wish he got the chance to do it properly, it would have been amazing. He's a real influence to me becoming an animator back when I was little!
YAY FINALLY A NEW EPISODE!!!! this episode is probably the most horrifying in terms of horror the handling machine chasing down the camera man and the martian design OMG ITS SO CREEPY (the martian design reminds me alot of ray harryhausen's design tbh) you have really outdone yourself here Jeff good job👍👍👍👍
Thanks Kai, really appreciated. Ray's designs have come up a lot in the comments, and I'm happy to say it again. I didn't know Ray had done a version of them until near the end of animating this segment. It blew me away how similar our designs were, and I think that is a testament to the description in the the book and the image it conjured in the mind. If it's a spiritual successor to Ray's work, well that makes me very happy because he sure inspired me as a kid, and is without doubt one of the reasons I became an animator all those years ago. Really glad you enjoyed, and thank you always for watching and supporting. Good to see you're still animating too. All the very best! :)
well that was definitely worth the wait! well done :) The atmosphere (as always) is frightening and conveys the sense of dread that the original did 100+ years ago. I particularly liked the idea that the Martian was doing something it shouldn't, the way it looked around before consuming it's victim suggests that they are not mindless creatures! Keep up the amazing work !!
Oh, I'm so glad you picked up on that. Absolutely correct. A naughty little underling. You've no idea how pleased I am that it came across. It's quite a subtle thing to try and convey! Thanks for watching, and good to see you again Robert! Have an excellent evening!
@@waroftheworlds1934 you're very welcome. It's the subtle details that make your videos so good! The other thing that impresses me is that the heatray don't hit the target every time. The handling machine, when going after the car, misses and tears up the road which is a great little details and says a lot about it's Martian pilot! :)
A MI TAMBIEN ME PARECIO EXTRAÑO Y SUSPECHOSO BER AL MARCIANO MIRANDO A SU ALREDEDOR COMO SI LO QUE ESTUBIERA CIENDO ERA ALGO INAPROPIADO 😅 QUE ERA MAL VISTO EN SU CIVILISACION PERO AL FINAL DE ESA ESENA SE ESCUCHO UN RUODO COMO SI LO HUBIERAN DESCUBIERTO Y AHORA SUFRIRIA UN CASTIGO MUY DURO Y POR ESO SE QUEDA MRANDO AL PROTAGONASTA CON CARA DE MIEDO ANTES DE ESCAPAR
Wow, writing this after finishing the episode and that was one HELL of a good one, the atmosphere & tension was captured PERFECTLY. Definitely worth the wait, did not disappoint! If you want to continue taking your time to make good episodes like these, I'll wait.
Thank you :) Well, the more time goes on, and as I do all this modelling, the time taken for episodes should get faster, and I really don't want to make everyone wait too long again. This was a particularly difficult one. But non the less, I really appreciate the patience and support, and fingers crossed, you shouldn't have to wait this long again!! Have a good one pizzasharkguy! :D
So far the best episode, we get to see the martians up close and their operations, the radio chatter and chase. This episode gave me Resistance Fall of Man vibes, if you ever played that game you know what I mean. Great job, keep it up
Thanks Leonardo :) I've not played that, but now it's on the list. I've been looking for something new to play. Though I never seem to get much time these days! Really glad you think it's the best so far. I've watched it so many times, it's hard to tell whether it's good or not after a while. So that's great to hear. Have an excellent week, thank you!
I like the detail of the radio inside the harvester, gives you an idea of how they communicate. Also this design for the Martians was perfect, down to the last minute details.
@@waroftheworlds1934 I'm assuming with the truck scene, the guy setup up his camera to capture footage of them up close before running away from the truck and probably hid in a neighboring building or perhaps next to it out of sight, it would explain why the Martin didn't attack him.
@@ClockMaster_3100 Well, actually, there is a super subtle detail at 6:02, and you'll have to slow it down to see it (it got a big blown out by the light, something I meant to fix), but he pulls a blanket from the back of the truck over himself just before the Handling machine grabs the side of the truck. So he's kind of hidden, but the camera is left out. It's a bit of an irony that this detail was a bit obscured, because it took a fair bit of work to add it. But it is there. You can see the Martian start to pay attention to the man under the blanket right before the horn blows and calls him away. Raven was most lucky, and I think maybe even blew his cover. The martian seems to have noticed him. Something most don't know, but when you watch YT on a computer, you can use the < and > keys to go frame by frame.
I love how the martian looks more dissapointed than evil or angry after the Martians communicate with it, it’s like its dissapointed that it couldn’t finish the other human but jokes aside, I love its design it looks like harryhausen's Martians. and I also loved the handling machine chase scene
That's exactly what the Martian was conveying :) Interrupting his naughty secret meal! As for the Harryhausen design, I only happened upon that a few weeks ago, so it was crazy seeing how similar we'd conceptualised it! I have to assume we both had a similar idea in our head from the book's description. I love Ray's work, and it inspired me as a kid, so to see that made me really happy. Glad you enjoyed the chase sequence, that took so much work. The streets are historically accurate too (within reason), which is why it was such a time eater. So I'm very pleased it was enjoyed, thank you!
I just caught up. Absolutely, stunned. I cannot believe how good this is. No hyperbole. I have read the book, heard the Orson Welles Radio Broadcast, seen both movies, listened and watched various versions of Jeff Wayne's musical, and I even own the Japanese manga adaptation. In terms of atmosphere, this one has left me in awe. The music, the sfx, shadows, perspectives, impact, it captures the feel of a calculated, horrifying invasion so freaking well. I absolutely have no words for it. Frankly, you understand exactly what made the original story so haunting in my opinion. This story stands out even among modern alien invasion story because of this atmosphere. Not just coming to destroy mankind, but to bend us completely to its alien, mysterious, unearthly will. A similar feeling I got when listening to the Red Weed track of Jeff Wayne's version. A sense of otherworldy terror as everything you know about your world is turned... red and desolate and enslaved. If you haven't seen the Japanese manga adaptation before, I have a couple videos I made with some of my scans. Take all the time you need my friend. You've gained another fan.
Thank you Tayo, I'm most humbled by your review of it all. I think the opinions and thoughts of big WOTWs fans mean the most, as there are some amazing versions of it out there from over the years. So to even begin to compare makes me very happy. So thank you sincerely. I've actually not seen the Japanese version. I may have to hunt it down. I've actually had a fair few recommendations over the last year for various WOTWs follow ups etc, and probably a few mentions of the Manga, which I fully intend to look up once the series is done. But I kind of decided once I really started to get into the series, that I'd avoid any further influences beyond what I already knew, as I didn't want any ideas creeping in from other versions and accidentally copying. But once I get finished, I'm certain I'll be most busy catching up a bit! Again, thank you for the very kind words :) Sorry for the slow reply, thnings have been a bit busy on this end!
After watching this twice I feel compelled to leave a comment. I have greatly enjoyed this series so far, and this part has completely exceeded my expectations. I've really appreciated your re-imagining of this story, and how you've still managed to keep important elements from the book. I love the choice of how much of the martian was revealed, it really capitalised on the suspense built through the previous videos (episodes? parts?) and nails the horror aspect of them and their appearance. When the cylinder opens in the book and the Narrator comments on the "intensity" of the martian's eyes, that line really stuck with me and my imagined image of their appearance. To me, this aspect has been translated perfectly in the video. The way the martian regards its next victim within that wreckage made my hairs stand on end, it was chilling in really visceral way. All that rambling just to say well done on this series, they've been fantastic to watch, and keep up the great work! :)
Love it! Thank you! I'm so glad my intentions and inner feelings(?) of the Martian have come through. He was a tricky beast to animate! I absolutely love hearing reactions, it's my favourite bit, and makes all the work totally worthwhile. I always want to be in the room with the viewer to see the reactions. I'm rather hoping someone does a reaction video at some point, because that would be really fun to watch. Yes, regarding the other versions, I'm trying to honour them (because I'm a massive fan of all of them) but also make it my own. War of the Worlds fans all seem very astute at noticing the references which is also great! Clearly you're one of them! :D I keep retelling old stories, but this whole series began as backdrop videos to a small stage play of the Orson Welles radio version (adapted to be set in the Midlands, UK though). So, it's beginning is very much seeded in that version. But as the channel grew, and it seemed to find an audience (I never expected), I started to dig much deeper into the ideas from the book, and also the 53 film (as that is a favourite of mine). I think it'd be impossible for them not to influence me, though it's certainly becoming it's own thing. It kind of writes itself, and I just have to find ways of capturing it. It's a really fun project, a dream project really, and it's great to share with everyone. Until I started the series, I had no idea that there was such a strong and lovely community around it. Anyway, I type a lot! So I'll leave this here, but thank you so much for watching, twice(!) and the great comment, very appreciated. Have a fantastic evening!
The Martian is a fantastic design, and the way it moves is amazingly animated. Well done! Always a joy to see new episodes, and even WIP videos appear in notifications. 👍
Thank you! Most kind. It certainly won't be the last time we get to see them. I want to get a few glimpses of who and what they are, which is kind of why I wanted to get one of them front and centre so everyone can get a good look. It opens up the book to look a little deeper without it all being in the shadows. Glad the notification bell is working for me too. Of interest to you, at some point I intend to do a bit of a train episode. I won't go into details and spoil it, but I think it'll be fun if I can make it work. Thanks again for watching and the lovely comment... Be well! :)
Goodness dude i have been a war of the worlds fan for a long time but this is the first time i have ever been truly scared by a piece of war of the worlds content. Absolutely phenomenal job.
Thank you Dell :) I think it struck me early on how grim the reality of it all would be. There is a certain sugar coating most versions have (which is fine of course) but I wanted to explore a bit of a rougher approach. Glad to hear it's working! Well kind of haha. See you for the next one!
@@waroftheworlds1934 also I forgot to say, I absolutely loved the fact that you used the scrapped design from the 50s war of the worlds movie. My jaw dropped when I saw that and it really fits with the designs of your tripods
@@DeliriousD-class Do you mean the Martian? Well, believe it or not, I only saw Ray Harryhausen's version just a few weeks ago. You think your jaw dropped! When I saw how similar we'd approached it (because I based mine on the description in the book, and assume that Ray had too) I couldn't believe it! In a way, I'm kind of glad I didn't see it earlier, because I might have been tempted to change it altogether. Though, that said, I am happy to see it as a huge nod to Ray's work, because as a kid, he was a massive influence on me becoming an animator. I can think of no better dedication to him than offering a spiritual successor to his work. And I really wish he'd got to make it having seen it now. That would have been a fantastic version. A little later in the week, I'm going to post up my very first test animation I did of the Martian way back in January of 2023, and you'll see how far it's come since. So look out for that. It's only short, but fun to see. Funnily, I made it a little like a 1950's monster movie too. All super strange. But I wouldn't change a thing :) Really glad you liked it! Makes me very happy!
@@waroftheworlds1934 I'm definitely going to watch that too! I loved all of the episodes of the series so far and I can't wait to see more, this is definitely top three versions war of the worlds in my opinion and I can't wait to see more.
I can easily see why this took so long to put together - Dear God, this taps into some of our worst nightmares. Sonic and visual overload. I probably won't sleep after that. Quite brilliant.
Haha, cheers. Well I hope it doesn't disrupt sleep too much. Funnily, one of the coolest dreams I've ever had was where I was in this cabin, and I looked out the window and I saw the flying machines in the sky... It's super weird to witness your own creations in a dream, it was proper freaky! I'm just hoping the Martians don't get in there!!!!
This is incredible. This video popped into my recommended yesterday and I've been hooked. I've been through every video, and it's nothing short of a masterpiece. From the cylinders and tripods to their laser eyes, the strategic destruction of the electrical infrastructure, and the harvesting in Birmingham. I'd love to see more car/vehicle chases in the future, sort of comparing our latest technology of the time against theirs. Another thing is how well you've blended H.G Wells's novel and slightly more modern 1934 Britain into the perfect alien invasion setting. Furthermore, I do like how you focus more on the mystery and terror of the invasion and less on the war and front line battles. Again, this is great work so far, and you've earned another subscriber. 😁
Great feedback, thanks Adamr :D It's funny, but I'm not really a big horror fan, so it's weird to me how I ended up making it so horror orientated. My natural inclination is more to sci-fi, but the two are very close I suppose, and an Alien Invasion such as this would be horrific! Very glad you're enjoying it, and really great to have you on board! So welcome! It's also a really lovely community too, and everyone is really into the story in it's various guises. I'm a big fan of all the versions too, so I guess I draw from that, but I want to see it really explored, a bit how the book goes in deep. It's such a strange scenario, that you kind of want to see what's going on everywhere and what the Martians are doing, even if it is alien... or more so. RE: "I'd love to see more car/vehicle chases in the future,"... yes me too. Originally, this episode was going to have a much longer chase sequence, but the work involved in recreating historically accurate streets became exhausting. Which is why we ended up where we did. But if that hadn't happened, we might not have had the fun Martian sequence, so it all works out. But, I do agree, and if I can figure out a more suitable environment without so much modelling work, I'd like to have another bash at it. So hopefully your wishes will be fulfilled. Horror aspect aside, I do want to have some solid battle sequences in the future too. A lot of people have expressed an interest in seeing them, and I know it's something I want to do too. So I think there will be all kinds of things coming up. The thing is, even the battles will probably be pretty horrific too. War is horrific :) So lot's to look forward to. Great to have you here and join the party! Thanks for the great comment, and see you at the next one!
@@waroftheworlds1934 I really love how you make it look like it was a long lost "film" of it. The crackling and dust spots on the video as well. The fact that it is in B&W and (it) appears to be done at night time kind of gave me the scary creepy feeling. And to see that Martian!
Thank you most kindly Kesterfae. I really appreciate that. I was unsure whether I'd got it right, but the feedback has been stellar, and I appreciate it all. I hope it inspires everyone to submit to the new Martian overlords and their dinner plates. Hail Mars! :D Be well K, ;)
This is worth the 8 months of wait for more info and the visuals of the masterpiece you created! I like the martian’s closeup design to be more book-accurate but retain some of irregular appearance to fit itself to consume anything. The Chase itself is frightening and short just to show humanity’s hopelessness! May your creation continue to rise and grew in popularity and prepare for any loves or other things people give to you be bless to your next video! ❤
Thank you Dapdy. I was a bit nervous about whether to show the Martian so clearly, but it seems to have been very warmly received, which is a relief! I've many more things to show, and it's only going to get more insane as it goes. Thank you for the lovely comment and the patience! More to come!
Thanks Cornious, I like that included the 70s, as that was a great era for films and the existential dread of such scenarios. I think we kind of lost that grit at some point. So that's a great compliment, thank you sincerely. Really glad you're enjoying it so far!
@@CorniousMouse I'll let you in on a little secret, the sounds it makes are frogs screaming (look it up on youtube if you've never seen/heard it lol). It's very slowed down, but it was a suggestion by my better half. I was shocked when it worked out. I know what you mean about Kaiju :) p.s. I did just catch your question re: Ray Harryhausen, but I guess you might have seen me answer that elsewhere. But in a nutshell, no, mine was inspired by the book description. I think Ray must have been too. I only saw Ray's version a few weeks back, and was very pleased we had similar visions. Ray is a legend!. I think if I'd seen his version, it might have made me change course due to the similarity, but I'm glad I didn't now. It's a nice to have connected to another version of WOTWs... even if it didn't get made.
Amazing work. The fact this starts off the usual less-is-more approach then we get to see the action, and animated so well at that, is so unusual for WotW analogue horror. Keep up the good work!
Thank you Fellnus! Yes, I like to keep it mixed up! When I showed the missus, her review was that she was just starting to get slightly bored by the radio segment, until it started to ramp up and then we get going. A bit of a balancing act. Really glad you enjoyed, and thank you for the kind comment. Be well!
BBY :) I love seeing the peeps who've been with me the whole way, hope all is well with you! Very glad to deliver (finally!!!) but thanks for watching too. Hope you enjoyed!
Worth the wait :D omg we finally got to see them face to face, and they are some ugly buggers I love it!!! As always keep up the work this has been one hell of a ride and im enjoying everything minute of it. These might be one of most hostile versions of the Martians we've seen. I really love how the martians are using radios to communicate not just some telepathy its truly spectacular and please keep up the amazing work I cannot wait to see what the future holds!!!
Thanks Blue, that makes me very happy to hear. Yes I'm trying to keep the Martians at least reasonably tangible. Hostile is right, and it's only going to get more intense from here on out!
Thanks Evan. Yeah, I want to really study them Martians, so I thought, let's get them front and centre so we can really dig deep the next time we meet.
Man I have been waiting for this since the last episode. This is better than any movie out right now IMO. The atmosphere in these is just dreadful, in a good way. I hope when this series is complete it is released for purchase on disk as I will order day one! Thank you for this amazing work and entertainment. You are so talented!
You are very kind, thank you :) I'll find some way of releasing it for sure. I'll probably do a fair few updates and higher quality renders for the final version too. Much work to do before then though, I've got so many cool ideas, it's hard to know which to do first :D Really appreciate your support and the very high praise, you have a great evening, week, month and year! :D
Thanks Postergirl. Yes, too long! This video has been a bit of a lesson in what not to do for me. I'm just thankful I managed to reach the end and get it out. It's been a bit of a mountain climb! Hope you enjoyed! :D
Awesome work! Simply awesome! At first, I was wondering why the observer was walking in the middle of streets, but then I realized that would be normal for someone in shock. Similarly, I wondered why he held his forward position so long, but then I realized that in the age before satellites and remote cameras, it was brave forward observers who provided critical intelligence. I applaud your attention to detail!
A soldier's got to do what a soldier's got to do. The humans have no idea what they are dealing with, so intelligence is super vital (and immensely useful from a story telling point of view!). Really glad you enjoyed and appreciated! Thank you KV :)
Excellent chapter. It's very scary!!! Very well done, as always. I really liked the physical design of the Martians. In some way, respecting Wells' description, without being an exact copy. Congratulations!🙂🙂
Cheers :) Yes, they are certainly inspired by the book, but I wanted them to have quite a big physical presence, and not be totally removed from what was practical and threatening. I always enjoy a bit of a monster movie!
@@waroftheworlds1934 Good things are worth waiting for and Martian feeding pipette you've answered a childhood question, was it mechanical or biological now I know... shudder!
:D Hi! That's great! You'll have to send me some. Would love to print it out and put it on my wall! Email me anything at thewaroftheworlds@proton.me I'm humbled by the support. Hope you enjoy tonight's video!
I've said it once and i'll say it again, this is becoming the best adaptation of wotw ever. First, it manages to do something other adaptations fail at, making the Martians feel like a military force. While some movies make them move and act in formation, this adaptation makes them feel like a military, with coordinated attacks, destroying designated infrastructure. We even get to hear their communication system. Speaking of which the Martians look fantastic, they look like they've been pulled straight from the book, yet i do love how they have an actual body, it makes them feel more realistic and the ay they feed is so gruesome, i loved it. I also really like the end scene where we see the cage making the red weed out of the bodies, these two last points make me understand why i love war of the worlds so much, the aliens don't care about us in the slightest, they don't want us as slaves or experiments, they want us as food and they brutalize us for it. Amazing, keep up the good work.
Thanks Marco. I'm really glad you're getting my take on it, and I want the same things as you when I'm making it. I want them to make sense, even though quite alien, there are ways to do things. I'm trying to have a logic to their actions, and even though it's alien and weird, it's hopefully still kind of recognisable. I'm trying to weave the ideas Wells put out there into some kind of realistic situation. Wells, in his time must have had a fantastic imagination. Really glad you agree on the body aspect of the Martians. I added that, because I wanted to give them more physicality. Somewhat recognisable as similar to man, despite the differences. I want them to have a presence. It's really pleased me that I've had such good feedback on them. It can be quite nerve racking doing something beloved. I guess the film interpretations have been a little disappointing from my point of view, so there was no way I was going to take the easy route out given this opportunity. And yes, the Martians are callous, and if ever there was an embodiment of pure ego and self grandeur, I'd like the Martians to be it. They do not care about man, do not fear us in any way, and why should they? But of course, on a grand scale, there is always a bigger fish, or a microscopic one :) Thanks for the great comment, I love that you get where I'm going with it. It helps to remind me too. Long months animating can disconnect me from the story and direction a bit. You kind of forget where you were headed. All the best! :)
Thank you Mark, I really appreciate that. I'm putting everything I've got into it with the limited resources I've got. I absolutely love that everyone is enjoying it. It's funny really, because it's such a dark series, but the fans are some of the most amazing people out there, full of love and support. I'm very appreciative. Thanks and have a fantastic week ahead! And thank you for watching/commenting :)
Impressive work! Thats actually the most interesting version of a Martian, never felt more horrified when i saw one. The way they use their own mouthes instead of pipes made it unnerving Well done 👏
Hey PAK, always good to see you. Glad you liked. I didn't know how everyone would react to my design, but it's been really positive (in a creeped out way of course), so it's a big relief! I've spent so long looking at this video, I have become a little numb to the impact of it. So to see the reaction has been great. Hope all is well with you :)
@@waroftheworlds1934You deserve it my friend, and everything is fine with me, hopefully all as good with you too :) Also, I have picked up an interesting thing within this video, during the scene where it displays the trapped humans in the cages, and in that circular window, there seems to be a taller Martian than the rest, indicating it may be an admiral or general. Or a king or queen, its interesting to see ranks in martian forces. Love it!
Thanks Speedy :) Work is always ongoing! I always wish the output were faster, and it varies, but the next episode is always in the works. Thanks for watching and commenting, much appreciated!
@waroftheworlds1934 yeah and i imagine about the military trying to defend the city but their lost, so the remaining military and civilian trying to escape the city
Amazing work on the Martians themselves. Seeing them in person and their reactions and features, actually makes them look and feel intelligent. I wonder what else you have up your sleeve for this project.
Thank you Kyle. I didn't know if I could pull it off, but I think it came out ok. As for what is up the sleeves, I have quite a lot to show yet, and things are just going to get more and more dire! It still feels like we're closer to the beginning than anywhere near the end!
Thanks Salvo :) Sometimes I wonder myself. I look back and it all seems like some fever dream lol. Now this one is out, I need to get back to that coal face and start digging for more!
*Puts on chef's hat* Oui oui monsieur. I will be in the kitchen, cooking up a delight for your senses! Fresh Martian on a fine Salade de poulpe. A meal deserving of such a fine comment. Bon appetite! :D
Thanks Bailey. I'm really pleased with how it turned out, and so glad it's been well received. I did an early test for the Martian way back in January of 2023, which I might put up as a little bonus vid, and it's interesting to look back and see how far it's come since then. It originally had a much more 1950s film kind of feel. But I knew it had to feel as real as I could make it to have the impact I wanted. It's a big relief that I think I've managed it somehow. So thank you. And yes, the red weed. I have some rather expansive ideas for that, and I'm looking forward to sharing that too. Cheers for the comment and support, have a brilliant week!
Amazing video as always, the martian looks very alien and scary, but also shows inteligence. It reminded me of my pet Muscovy Duck by the way it moved and the wrinkly skin shaking while it made sounds. Thank you for another great video, Im sure it took a lot of dedication and talent to make.🙂👍
Thank you Vitorio. I had to go look that up (Muscovy duck) and yes I see what you mean! They're pretty crazy looking themselves. I may have to use a bit of their sounds and add that into the mix for the Martians :D As for dedication, well, I can tell you it took a lot of coffee :D hehe Cheers for the lovely comment :)
@@waroftheworlds1934 Muscovy Duck Males make an "engine like sound", it seems to be a way of displaying dominance. That sound could be interesting (maybe edited to fit with the lore and scene).
@@Captain_Vitorio_Muscovy Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. UA-cam is great for finding enthusiast videos to pull random sounds from. It's where the majority of my sound effects come from. Weird 15 year old videos of random lol.
Thanks Goddasaurus. It's a lot of work, but all worth it for the enjoyment it brings. I really appreciate the feedback and support. All the best to you! :)
All thats left now is the probe, thunder child sequence and the plague that wipes out the martians. I didn't mention this in the stream cause it was so late but the base behind the red weed cages not to mention the sounds and lights of the cages was a nice tutch. You did a great job selling the fear facter and gory feeding scene was hard to look at as intended. Your one step closer to knocking war of the worlds 05 off its throne keep it up.
Really glad you enjoyed it :) One thing I'll say, is although you're kind of right regarding elements we haven't seen, and those will be coming up in time, I have much larger plans for this story and it will begin to deviate away from what has already been done many times. I was never keen on the short sighted insta-death of the Martians. They're very intelligent. So expect to see them take a much grander foothold on Earth. The thing to remember is that the year is 1934, so it's not quite the same as 1898, and so the story will reflect that too. But we'll for sure see plenty that is familiar along side that which is not. It'll be a fun ride! I'm sure you'll enjoy it, because it's only going to get more intense! Thanks for the lovely comment!
@@waroftheworlds1934 Interesting sure I'm not expecting the plague to whip out the martians instently just slowly other time. The book also has a longer time frame than movies or TV shows do when it comes to the plague and I look forward to what you'll add to fill in the exstended gap. If the probe and thunder child scenes are just small pieces I can't wait to see what unique spin you'll add like the red weed terraform cages.
@@njfox3305 What I want to do more than anything else is do what the films can't and that's explore the world during the invasion more. Films truncate the story so much that you don't get to see much. Part of the idea behind utilising the "Directorate of military operations and intelligence" is that they are gathering as much intel as possible, because they have no idea what they are up against. So it's like delving into the top secret archives, as well as public footage taken. Film camera's were actually quite common back then, and who wouldn't film it! :)
Where to begin? The radio sequence was done amazingly, with attempts at coordination between each unit being snuffed out by the constant effort to defend against martian forces. I loved the bit at 1:23, and i'm not even sure if i can put into words why. While i'm still talking about this section, the constant martian droning from outside really adds to the atmosphere, just adding that slight bit more dread. The car sequence was also done brilliantly, showing off the agility of the handling machines. I was scared of them before this one, but after seeing it's top speeds it might be the scariest part of the entire series. I cannot even begin to describe how perfect the martian reveal sequence was. Another person probably would have done it with a cheap jumpscare, but the slow reveal of the martian as it climbs out of it's handling machine really set off some primal fear in me. It's model and animation couldn't have been done better in my opinion, really emphasising that this is something living, not a machine or a model. And then the feeding. There's just something about the way they evolved to be able to do... that which really adds more to that fear factor. I am running out of synonyms for fear. And then the final sequence. Our protagonist just wandering through the desolate streets, completely vulnerable to any attack. It took me a while to realise that the thing at the end was one of the red weed machines from harvest, but when it settled it was just terrifying to think that these are things the martians are using in mass quantities. Imagine being safe in a bunker or something, but then red weed slowly starts creeping it's way in. I honestly can't think of anything more to say. Definitely worth the wait, and disappointed in myself for not having seen this sooner.
Where to begin? How to respond!? That was such a lovely review of the episode, thank you so much! It means a huge amount to me, I can't tell you. It's great to know that each part of the episode did what I hoped. When you work on something for so long, you lose sight of whether it is working or not. So it's been a relief to hear that it turned out ok, and comments such as this make it all very worthwhile. So all I can say is thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts, I am most grateful. Fingers crossed the next episode won't be so long coming, and is already well underway. Hopefully see you at the next one!
The best chapter so far, I love the Martian, compared to the BBC’s version of a Martian this is far superior! It has an animalistic yet intelligent tone to its personality. Also loved the revelation of what happened to all the citizens in the cities… Absolutely chilling to see their remains among the red weed, takes the 2005 concept of human fertiliser to a grittier and gory level. Keep up the good work man!
Thanks Rhysy. I've still not watched the BBC version. I didn't want it to influence my choices in any way. Maybe when this is all done I'll take a look. But right or wrong, I'll believe you, hehe. Really pleased you're enjoying it, thanks for watching and commenting. Great to have you here!
Amazing work on every damn level. Ive been a lifelong fan of the war of the worlds and this is hands down the best rendition of the martians yet. I honestly reckon that h.g. wells himself would have approved.
Thank you very very much for that. It's certainly a labour of love, and I feel that if I'm going to dedicate a good chunk of my life to it, then I have to try and live up to Wells, Welles and Pal too, as well as all of the fans of the story. I'm trying to make something that I can sit back and watch and enjoy (which is actually very tricky when I spend so long looking at it). I really appreciate the comment grinning pinhead (great name lol). Thank you for watching and commenting. Every comment means a lot to me, which is why I will try and reply to everyone, as they keep me going and fired up to do the next one. So thank you. May good things come your way! All the best!
@@waroftheworlds1934 your very welcome. Ive watched them all a few times so far. Keep em coming because this is brilliant. All the best and may good things come your way too.
These productions are absolutely incredible. Seeing that Alien feasting, and the sound of its calls were hideous. I think only listening to the Jeff Wayne record when I was a kid would come close to these on the ‘Scared to Death’ scale!
Certainly their heads were a little bigger in the books. However, we're yet to meet more than one Martian so far. I'm approaching it like people, we come in a lot of very different sizes. This guy was a bit of an underling really, a grunt.
@@Dee-p4j We'll find out in time I'm sure. We're going to be exploring a lot more of the Martians in time, it's one of the aspects that interests me the most. We know very little about them, but areas to explore are lifespans and growth. Giant squids can grow huge over the course of a few years, so I kind of like that idea. There's certainly no reason to believe they are all the same size or age. We don't even know if there are male and females either. It's totally unexplored. I think it's going to be fun to find out. :)
Thank you Joyker, that is a most honorable accolade, very humbling. I do the best I can with what I've got, and it makes me very happy that it's being enjoyed as much as I am enjoying making it. Hopefully see you at the next one!
@@Captain_LeafyBut you don’t know if a harvester machine has a shield. If it doesn’t have a shield, then a tank would win. But if the harvester machine does have a shield, then it wins over the tank. But you also have to take account of the damage a tripod war machine took when it got kamakazied by a single bomber. Even the shields have limits here.
The only words for this are WOW !!! and HOLY SHIT !!!! That was well worth the wait ambitious well paced sumptuously animated conceptually excellent and horrifying. Adding anything to WOTW at this point is nearly impossible but you have more than pulled it off well done @WarOfTheWorlds1934
Thank you my friend :) Your opinion rides high in my book, and that is a lovely review, you are most, most kind, and very glad you enjoyed! It's just a relief to have it out there, as this one one was a real grind to get finished... I've been digging deep lol.
Thanks Will! We're going somewhere quite new to all versions next. I'll be interested to see how it's received! The next episode is well under way. I'm not sure how far away it is, but it's certainly coming along. Best wishes!
Reminds me a bit of the (in)famous Orson Welles radio broadcast which scared the daylights out of New York City! Noticed an authentic 1930's Birmingham Corporation 'piano front' double decker in there.
:D Someone noticed! You barely get to see it, so a sharp eye sir! As for the Orson Welles part, this series started out as backdrop video to a local performance of Orson Welles radio play (set in the Midlands). The first few videos were all for that (projected behind the actors). If you see the special features video I did of the original version of the flight, you can hear the Orson Welles script that went with it. It's a fun piece on it's own. Anyway, I'm really pleased you noticed the bus, as I didn't think anyone would! You get a gold star John! :D Thanks for watching!
My God, man. I can definitely see that you have spent your time on carefully curating the GOOD China. Kris, this work is on a new level. You have REALLY upped the production value. This is a fantastically well produced video. I was very impressed before, but now I'm in awe. Your work just keeps going from strength to strength. It's just frickin' amazin'. Love it. BTW, did you ever use Vehicle Setup Pro in this production?
Shabazzy :D Great to see you! And thank you of course, too kind! I'm still struggling with being too close to something for too long, and finding it hard to stand back and assess it. I would say that it's been a difficult birth! But I am most pleased to hear this from you, as I know you understand the difficulties in creating these things. Regarding vehicle setup pro, I didn't this time. I reached a point where the hold up in trying to get it all working was frustrating my eagerness to press on, so I hand keyed the whole thing. Without doubt, in future videos I'll probably use it, but this time I just had to do it manually. I kind of knew that it'd be almost impossible to spot the nuance of a properly rigged vehicle anyway, given the nature of the scene, so I was much happier that I could invest my time elsewhere. What really took up way too much time was creating those damn streets. They're more or less reasonably historically accurate and all modelled from scratch. The street they turn down after the handling machine flips the other truck no longer exists, and I recreated it from many old (and poor) photos. Typically, not much of it is seen and whizzes past the camera in a blur. But the modelling work will be useful in the future, so I hold on to that to keep my spirits up :) It's been a funny one to produce, and nothing like I originally intended. Certainly very costly in time. But still, I'm just glad it's out now, and the reception has been very good which is a relief... making up for my own inability to properly enjoy the result. I'm very sure you know the feeling. In time I'll see it with fresh eyes though. I'm rather hoping that I can finally make proper use of LW2023 moving forward, as the rendering glitch on clip maps really just broke my scenes and I ended up having to go back to 2019. Render times on so many frames has been a real hold back, and the quality isn't what I wanted it to be. I think that is what's bothering me the most to be honest. If i can get my head around Octane, then I'm hoping that will speed up future videos a lot. Fingers crossed! Anyway, great as always to see you, and I very much appreciate your comment. Wishing you the very best :)
@@waroftheworlds1934 Brilliant work. Truly great👍 I think the LWD guys said the clip map bug is fixed in the forthcoming LW2024. Along with some speed ups on having multiple characters rigged and animated in the one scene.
@@RichardFeeney Yes I saw that on the sneak peaks :) Good news! I think the team are doing great, and makes me very happy to see so much effort to get it back in the game. The independent nature of the team is also a big plus too. A bit back to the roots :) And thank you for the kind words too of course. :) 👍
2:56 Now that I think of this, What’s going on here? I know it’s those spear/containment things from the last episode. 6:55 Also what was the Martian doing here? Sucking out blood like a vampire or something? 7:25 I feel like the Martian was saying: “It’s your lucky day, Human.” 9:02 Is that a red weed dispersal unit or something?
Yes, the Martian's suck the blood through the skin, but slightly worse. I'm sure we'll find out more about that in time :) “It’s your lucky day, Human.”
1:38 i usually noticed this but never thought of it now that i think of it that noise that sounds like a camera can be tech developed by the humans to fight against the martians or it can be a new machine of the martians we havnt seen yet
Cheers HDawg! I put a lot of time into trying to get them right. Not book perfect, but certainly inspired by it. I'll be sharing an early vid from last year with my first test of him later in the week, and the sketch it was based upon, so look out for that ;)
8:58 this part of the video that really scared me. The mysterious atmosphere of the machines. And how it would look if the Martians win earth over us, we will be left in the dust as part of their history… Also this is some awesome music can we get a WOTW 1934 soundtrack someday?
Glad you're enjoying :) I for sure want to try and assemble the music at some point. I'm pleased the machines are feeling alien enough, and I'm looking forward to expanding on the Martian distortion of our lands!
you've really caught the atmosphere and horror, it reflects the book better than any Hollywood production. well done. I can't wait to see more. just wondering what you modelled and rendered this in?
Ello again Davpea! Good to see you. Thank you again for another lovely comment. I keep trying! Glad I'm still on track. It's all done in Lightwave 3D. Lightwave is pretty much a self contained studio, and I don't really need to go too far away from it. The only exception would be texturing, for which I do most of it in photoshop (though I'm looking to move away from Adobe, maybe over to Affinity). I cancelled my Adobe sub back in 2020 when things were very tight. I still have the final CS version on disk, and Adobe are so poor at updating their software, given the amount they charge, there is barely a difference. But yes, I'd always recommend Lightwave. It went through a bit of a bumpy patch as it was sold to a company who didn't care for it. Thankfully, they sold it on to a group of people who actually use it and love it like I do, and they're making massive strides right now and getting it back on track. Amazingly, they seem to be adding all the tools I really need for future videos, so I'm over the moon :) It costs a bit to get on board, where as Blender is free, but there is a certain organisation of the software that just makes it much easier to use. Blender is a little bit messy, like a swiss army knife. Also, I'm too old to learn so many new tricks haha. Thanks as always for watching and good to see you again, take care :)
@@waroftheworlds1934 thanks for remembering me lol. Big fan of your work. I’ve never used light wave but I believe that’s what was used to create the battlestar galactica remake. Great work brother. Can’t wait to see more.
@@davpea1 Yeah, Battlestar was one of the big ones it was used in. It's quite a small community really, so when I chat in the Lightwave discord, I often bump into people who worked on it, and things like Jimmy Neutron and such. Theres a guy on youtube called David Ridlen, and he uses it for films like the conjuring and lots of quite big current films. He's a very talented artist.
Glad you liked! I could have kept them in the shadows the whole time, but honestly, I wanted to see them, and even more, I want to study them! I want to see some Martian culture and who they are. So I thought, let's get one up close and open that doorway. Thanks as always for your support Cap, was great to share it live with you!

Well, as much as I don't like to scare people, I know that people also like to be scared a little. So hopefully it's only mildly scary :) Yes, there is very much a bird kind of feeling about the Martians. Nasty little bleeders! Thanks for watching and commenting, and I really appreciate your thoughts. Have a great week pxtshxp!
He got a signal to return. Though, I'd say he saw the camera, and not necessarily the cameraman. If you look closely, the cameraman pulls a blanket over himself just before the Truck is tipped over. Blink and you might miss it. The Martian may have wondered about what was under it, and was going to check it out, but he was called back... and he knew better than to ignore his superiors! :)
1 how to escape from the Martians: it is necessary to hide somewhere in narrow places or in a dark house 2 : stock up on food 3: do not leave the house
Sage advice :D As an animator, leaving the house is rare, so I am certain I will survive the Martian invasion. In fact, I probably won't notice it lol. Have a great week мач24к :)
Yes it would! Especially in a 1934 army truck! The top speed was only about 40 miles per hour, and the handling machine can go some frightening speeds, which I think we might see more of later! Thanks for watching Korbyn, enjoy your Sunday!
The Martians spend the night making a new machine It was a squat, metallic spider with huge, articulated claws But it, too, had a hood in which a Martian sat I watched it pursuing some people across a field It caught them nimbly and tossed them into a great metal basket upon its back
This remembers me of that upcoming 2005 wotw game on steam it will also have this creppy hiding in houses feeling it is just terrifiying... to see these monsters walking past the house your hiding in.
Blessed be the Martians. How did you know I was Jesus? It must be the long hair and occasional beard ;) Haha. Glad you enjoyed, and it makes me very happy I've got it more or less right. It's scary putting work out, and that never goes away. So thank you!
I was looking out for you (and a couple of others with similarly sick and twisted minds, haha) :D I'm glad to oblige lol. That section was especially for you, so thanks for the inspiration. It came out alright didn't it! I was super nervous about how everyone would react, but it seems to have turned out well. I'm glad you spoke up, because as the audience grows, it's getting harder and harder to remember all the names. Though I remember yours for sure. Have a great week RSI :)

WELL DONE, AS USUAL!!

the handling machine chasing down the camera man and the martian design OMG ITS SO CREEPY

you have really outdone yourself here Jeff good job👍👍👍👍

@@waroftheworlds1934 you're very welcome. It's the subtle details that make your videos so good! The other thing that impresses me is that the heatray don't hit the target every time. So far the best episode, we get to see the martians up close and their operations, the radio chatter and chase. This episode gave me Resistance Fall of Man vibes, if you ever played that game you know what I mean. Great job, keep it up

I like the detail of the radio inside the harvester, gives you an idea of how they communicate. Also this design for the Martians was perfect, down to the last minute details.
That makes me most happy, thanks Clockmaster!

I keep retelling old stories, but this whole series began as backdrop videos to a small stage play of the Orson Welles radio version (adapted to be set in the Midlands, UK though).
But I wouldn't change a thing :)
Really glad you liked it! Makes me very happy!
@@waroftheworlds1934 I'm definitely going to watch that too! I loved all of the episodes of the series so far and I can't wait to see more, this is definitely top three versions war of the worlds in my opinion and I can't wait to see more.
@@DeliriousD-class To even come close is a real honour and makes it worthwhile, so thank you :)
War is horrific :)
So lot's to look forward to. Great to have you here and join the party!
Thanks for the great comment, and see you at the next one!
PLEASE!!!!! Get more episodes out! This has got to be the best version of WOTW ever!!!!
Thanks Michael! Really appreciate that :) I'm working on it!!
@@waroftheworlds1934 I really love how you make it look like it was a long lost "film" of it. The crackling and dust spots on the video as well. The fact that it is in B&W and (it) appears to be done at night time kind of gave me the scary creepy feeling. And to see that Martian!
This is excellent! Beyond worth the wait! Really outdone yourself. That Martian Is amazing
Thank you most kindly Kesterfae. I really appreciate that. I was unsure whether I'd got it right, but the feedback has been stellar, and I appreciate it all. I hope it inspires everyone to submit to the new Martian overlords and their dinner plates. Hail Mars! :D
Be well K, ;)
Wonderful work here. You have managed to encapsulate the horror of the book and successfully bring it into the 30s setting brilliantly!
Thanks Kerbal, if I can please fans of the book, I must be doing something right!

PHENOMENAL! Binged it all on my birthday and was horrified. Good job you guys!
This comment made my morning :) Thanks, it's lovely to have shared your birthday, and of course a massive Happy Birthday Skylarcrylar!
This is such a great adaptation, you managed to get that feel of 1930s - 1970s sci fi horror the novel had
Thanks Cornious, I like that included the 70s, as that was a great era for films and the existential dread of such scenarios. I think we kind of lost that grit at some point. So that's a great compliment, thank you sincerely. Really glad you're enjoying it so far!
@@waroftheworlds1934also, the way the Martians make sounds reminds me of 1950s to 70s kaiju roars, I don't really know why tho
@@CorniousMouse I'll let you in on a little secret, the sounds it makes are frogs screaming (look it up on youtube if you've never seen/heard it lol). It's very slowed down, but it was a suggestion by my better half. I was shocked when it worked out. I know what you mean about Kaiju :)

Thanks RTS, and I will do my best!

@@Mickey_AA Now that's a very good question. Something to find out :)
@@waroftheworlds1934ok Thank you❤❤❤❤❤
@warofthewordlds1934 Are they going to show the Martians?
But of course, on a grand scale, there is always a bigger fish, or a microscopic one :)
Thanks for the great comment, I love that you get where I'm going with it. It helps to remind me too. Long months animating can disconnect me from the story and direction a bit. You kind of forget where you were headed.

You did a great job selling the fear facter and gory feeding scene was hard to look at as intended.
Your one step closer to knocking war of the worlds 05 off its throne keep it up.
Really glad you enjoyed it :)
One thing I'll say, is although you're kind of right regarding elements we haven't seen, and those will be coming up in time, I have much larger plans for this story and it will begin to deviate away from what has already been done many times.
@@waroftheworlds1934 that's a good idea cause it shows the invasion from multiple perspectives and what's going on in veries locations.

Certainly their heads were a little bigger in the books. However, we're yet to meet more than one Martian so far. I'm approaching it like people, we come in a lot of very different sizes. This guy was a bit of an underling really, a grunt.
@@waroftheworlds1934 Hmm..so the elites would be the larger more octopoid types featured in the novel?
@@Dee-p4j We'll find out in time I'm sure. We're going to be exploring a lot more of the Martians in time, it's one of the aspects that interests me the most. We know very little about them, but areas to explore are lifespans and growth. Giant squids can grow huge over the course of a few years, so I kind of like that idea. There's certainly no reason to believe they are all the same size or age. We don't even know if there are male and females either. It's totally unexplored. I think it's going to be fun to find out. :)
finally you back
Yeeeeeeeah baby! I'm back! :D Good to see ya!
This is the best thing that has come out on The War of the Worlds so far
Thank you Joyker, that is a most honorable accolade, very humbling. I do the best I can with what I've got, and it makes me very happy that it's being enjoyed as much as I am enjoying making it. Hopefully see you at the next one!
Good luck 🍀@@waroftheworlds1934
since harvesters usually travel in swarms, So now i am wondering, who would win, 1 harvester or a tank.
oooops typo
I think harvester wold win. Tanks can’t pierce the Martian energy shield
Wow bro, surviving against Martians must be TERRIFYING! Technology so advanced it goes beyond our primitive minds...
I could just imagine what the Martian was like in the handling machine at 5:40 like _HA GOTCHA NOW!_
Hehe, yeah :D
this is so cool i am a huge war of the worlds fan and this is my cup of tea and the analoge vibe is asswome
Thanks :) I never really planned it out as analog horroresque, it kind of just ended up there.
Brilliant adaptation. I can't wait for more episodes!
Thanks Will! We're going somewhere quite new to all versions next. I'll be interested to see how it's received! The next episode is well under way. I'm not sure how far away it is, but it's certainly coming along. Best wishes!
@@waroftheworlds1934 It's a fascinating story that fits that timeline perfectly. Keep em coming!
Will do!
This is absolutely amazing ❤
Cheers Doc!
But the modelling work will be useful in the future, so I hold on to that to keep my spirits up :)
It's been a funny one to produce, and nothing like I originally intended.
Truly great👍
I think the LWD guys said the clip map bug is fixed in the forthcoming LW2024.
A bit back to the roots :)
And thank you for the kind words too of course. :)

He breathed out air and ate his food.
Ladies and Gentlemen, we got him.
Haha, true that!
2:56 Now that I think of this, What’s going on here? I know it’s those spear/containment things from the last episode.
6:55 Also what was the Martian doing here? Sucking out blood like a vampire or something?
7:25 I feel like the Martian was saying: “It’s your lucky day, Human.”
9:02 Is that a red weed dispersal unit or something?
Yes, the Martian's suck the blood through the skin, but slightly worse. I'm sure we'll find out more about that in time :)
“It’s your lucky day, Human.”
1:38 i usually noticed this but never thought of it now that i think of it that noise that sounds like a camera can be tech developed by the humans to fight against the martians or it can be a new machine of the martians we havnt seen yet
wow, just wow, the wait was worth it, those Martians look much better than other ones
Cheers HDawg! I put a lot of time into trying to get them right. Not book perfect, but certainly inspired by it. I'll be sharing an early vid from last year with my first test of him later in the week, and the sketch it was based upon, so look out for that ;)
sounds good! Can’t wait!
8:58 this part of the video that really scared me. The mysterious atmosphere of the machines. And how it would look if the Martians win earth over us, we will be left in the dust as part of their history…
Also this is some awesome music can we get a WOTW 1934 soundtrack someday?
Glad you're enjoying :) I for sure want to try and assemble the music at some point. I'm pleased the machines are feeling alien enough, and I'm looking forward to expanding on the Martian distortion of our lands!
4:55 In the back, you can see the handling machine that chased them turn on.
Good eye! Especially as it is a bit hard to see. After it was rendered, it seemed very hard to see, so I'm really glad you noticed! :D Thanks EntityV!
@@waroftheworlds1934 Thank you
The legend is back!
*Comes in through big doors shadow boxing* hehe :D
Cheers U_HGO, hope you enjoyed!
you've really caught the atmosphere and horror, it reflects the book better than any Hollywood production.
Amazingly, they seem to be adding all the tools I really need for future videos, so I'm over the moon :)
It costs a bit to get on board, where as Blender is free, but there is a certain organisation of the software that just makes it much easier to use.
I'll have to do something like that part at 6:25 , holy shit that was terrifying! An Awesome martian design, I suppose great minds think alike eh?
Glad you liked! I could have kept them in the shadows the whole time, but honestly, I wanted to see them, and even more, I want to study them! I want to see some Martian culture and who they are. So I thought, let's get one up close and open that doorway.
Thanks as always for your support Cap, was great to share it live with you!
@@waroftheworlds1934 Always a pleasure sir!
Martian culture is one of the primary things I've been stumped on for a while now
@@captainramius5047 Yes, same here. I've kind of got some broad strokes from a more metaphorical point of view, and what they represent, so that's my starting point. I'm looking forward to exploring them. Anyways, we can chat on X about all that some time :)
@@waroftheworlds1934 true, I’ll be available most of this evening should you wish to drop by. I’m sure we’ll figure something out
When we get to thunderchild, will it be animated, like the flight of the 37s, but with voice overs?
I'm not quite sure yet, but of all the vids, that one will be pretty epic and cinematic for sure. Many are looking forward to that one!

Nada está parando esse trem! Que bom que você gostou!
most successful adaptation of the war of the world's to actually scare me in fear (plus the martians remind me of featherless chickens)
Well, as much as I don't like to scare people, I know that people also like to be scared a little. So hopefully it's only mildly scary :)
Yes, there is very much a bird kind of feeling about the Martians. Nasty little bleeders!
Thanks for watching and commenting, and I really appreciate your thoughts. Have a great week pxtshxp!
Nice looks like the Martian saw the cameraman wonder why he let him go.
@@waroftheworlds1934 ahhh hopefully we see more interactions between the Martians.
I loved the part about the Martian looking at our soul, it scared me😶
Well I thought that the Martians would not be so deadly outside of there machines but you prove me wrong.
I wanted something quite threatening and nasty, to match their general invasive attitude. Glad you liked!
That would be extremely terrifying. Being chased by a handling machine.
Yes it would! Especially in a 1934 army truck! The top speed was only about 40 miles per hour, and the handling machine can go some frightening speeds, which I think we might see more of later!
Thanks for watching Korbyn, enjoy your Sunday!
5:16 a typical chase in subway surfing
This episode is perfect!
The review I wanted to hear :D Thanks Kuki!
I loved this video sm different from the others
Yeah, I wanted to introduce all the main elements. I want to study them Martians!
The Martians spend the night making a new machine
It was a squat, metallic spider with huge, articulated claws
But it, too, had a hood in which a Martian sat
I watched it pursuing some people across a field
It caught them nimbly and tossed them into a great metal basket upon its back
It really is great writing isn't it. I've got to do a scene showing that in the future. People fishing. :)
This remembers me of that upcoming 2005 wotw game on steam it will also have this creppy hiding in houses feeling it is just terrifiying... to see these monsters walking past the house your hiding in.
Yes, I'm quite looking forward to trying that game out :)
Jesus well done! I love the designs!
Blessed be the Martians. How did you know I was Jesus? It must be the long hair and occasional beard ;) Haha. Glad you enjoyed, and it makes me very happy I've got it more or less right. It's scary putting work out, and that never goes away. So thank you!
@@waroftheworlds1934 Haha I understand that. Your work is very appreciated!
