Best survival channel on UA-cam no crazy items no overly fancy gimmicks. Just simple need to know knowledge. The simplicity of it is what makes the videos great.
@@sbccave4015 ... and if the Internet goes down.... Greg showed us how to possibly survive... survive for god knows what... but he showed us all the same... Bless you Greg Ovens.
Loved you on alone and I love your no BS approach to survival. No fancy gear or unrealistic advice. Just a good old Canadian boy doing it for real. Cheers Mr Ovens
Had the pleasure to meet Greg twice recently. He took the time to talk and take a picture with my son, who's 6 years old and a big fan. Made my sons day, he brought that picture printed out to his class at school for show and tell, and they watched Greg's drill contraption video haha! Thanks Greg👍
Keep dry, and stay warm. The lean to shelter with warmed rocks did the job even through an overnight light dusting of snow. Thanks for the video and with Finn your trusty dog.
You and Finn make the best stick and pole videos I've ever seen. Stick/pole shelters, stick/pole fires, stick/pole gathering, stick/pole survival. You make people smarter and safer, which is why I never miss a video. Hope to see you and Amos on another adventure sometime soon--and Finn, of course! Many thanks.
I can’t help but think about how much more difficult this entire process is carrying a camera and capturing your journey. Luckily you have a good dog Fin to keep you company. Looks like he has taken on well to your adventures! ❤️
Damn. Greg is the definition of a mountain man. Love this channel and the knowledge shared. There is a real possibility these videos could keep people alive.
I would imagine building a shelter is your favorite thing to do in the woods. I know your shelter building is My favorite thing to watch you do. Thanks for it all Greg and Finn❤
Yes! Awesome video!! When you mentioned type of shelters for rain and snow, I was wondering to myself about structural parts and types for heavy snow fall and light snow fall. Like not just strength of the sleeping area, but size inside etc would having a tight spot be bad in heavy snow, where you could easily end up buried! Don’t have snow here in winter, so I love these hard winter videos! It’s also amazing that in snowy areas, you have very little worry about with critters like snakes and giant spiders wanting to cuddle up to ur warmth in the middle of the night! Where as in Australia, it happens frequently. Though a lot probably don’t even know it’s happened, more common in warmer time of year than the cooler times. Enjoyed the vid, can’t wait to see what shelters you got up ur sleeve! Doing a survival vid the best plan is no plan and make it up as you go, it all comes together as you find what you can work with!
Another great video Gregg. You and Finn are true mates and take care of eachother. Had I had Finn and a shelter I would of hugged up to him. Keep pumping out great contact cause I believe you are saving lives. Much ❤ from Alberta😉
Hi Mr Ovens, its a true honour to beable to watch your adventures and learn from you, its like being able to watch nesmuk not just read ya kno. Plus the music and cinematography is stunning. Thank you and finn
Good stuff Greg I enjoyed this and now the live feed has finished I can leave a second comment lol. You made this look fairly easy for folks to reproduce this shelter or there abouts . I look forward to more adventures , take care mate.
I would say: Put the bark underneath then needles. This will isolate you better from the ground. Also try to make long log fire - so you don't have to wake up to keep the fire going.
Thank you very much. A useful and entertaining video…again. Finn is probably the happiest dog ever, always outside, playing, running and taking care of his boss! Really nice video! Thx and take care.
Awesome vid. Lots of great tips in this one. I see alot of people that greatly underestimate how much and how fast wood can burn for an overnight. I like how you get enough materials so you don't have to go looking for more wood in the middle of the night. Cool shelter and smart to use the needles and rocks. Fin is such a gentlemen now. Good training.
Hey Greg, it's been a while, we have missed you man! & Fin too! Great Video! You ARE a terrific Teacher! Very primitive, down to the Nitty Gritty of True Survival! So much appreciated! We never know what's next from you! Can't wait, and looking forward! Big Fan here! God Bless You n Fin, as always! NZ.,✌❤😁👍😉🤙
No coffee- the walking legend 💪🏼 you prolly wouldn’t know it looking at me I would be into this out door content but you remind me so much of my father and the nostalgia from growing up… even though life has consumed me in every way, I can still visit my past watching you! Thank you and bless you!
Absolutely love the new camera angles! Please don’t forget to make a video with that tree because it was so interesting! Finn has grown into such a beautiful good boi!
I see that you were hiding the drone's remote but i found the camera and drone work particularly great in this video. You improved a lot! It would be cool to see a simple video of how you use the drone!
2 months late, but even if I don't get to a particular vid when it's new, I go back and watch. I always learn something. And I always appreciate everything, thanks for the vids. Both of you! :)
i love watching your videos. it feels like my grandpa teaching me how to survive on wilderness. the great feeling when you learned something new from your grandpa. unfortunately i was raised without a dad and grandpa so i really dont experienced those things when i was a kid.
Greg, get that big Finn dog to curl up next to you and he'll keep at least one side of you warm. I would worry about my dog running around at night and bringing all the big game back with her, bears, elks and mooses.
👍 Happens a lot that way where you just have to get a fire going and throw together some kind of a makeshift shelter. You had some good finds there but I couldn't understand why you built your shelter so low and you didn't have access to the firewood without crawling out to get it. So many times, I have just built a wind break and slept sitting up against a tree, facing the fire and hoping the grizzly bears stayed away. I just turned 60 years old and require a bit more comfort now, maybe some fir branches to lay on. 😁 Stay out there and stay safe.

I get to come say whay
Ovens needs no items. The most important thing he takes is himself with that wealth of survival knowledge. Proper legend in my book.
... and a Walmart along the way.
Any way smarter then why

Fantastic. Much love sir x
one of the best outdoor channels on UA-cam, right up there with Primitive Technology. Always learn so much from these survival challenges
I would imagine building a shelter is your favorite thing to do in the woods. I know your shelter building is My favorite thing to watch you do. Thanks for it all Greg and Finn❤
Greg ovens is the Jeremiah Johnson of our Era and he is the ultimate survival guy. Him and bear grills should collaborate and do a survival together
He's like Mister Rogers and Bob Ross but outside. It's excellent.
I love those survival-overnight videos, thank You Greg.

Greg's dog is the best security dog 😂. Straight patrolling the perimeter. Savage
In 5 years, the History Channel will swear your Shelter is a Bigfoot nest.
hahahah nice
Ya , and they'll say it's 4.5 billion years old, even though they find his lighter there,
Wait till they find a Finn structure, 2 fetch sticks in the form of an X.
