- Greg and Finn venture back into the bush for a 48 Hour Survival Challenge with only TWO items, battling wet weather and other adverse conditions.
Greg is a self-taught survivalist from Canal Flats, British Colombia, who, since he was a boy, has read nearly every book on the topic. When he is not out in the wilderness, he is a professional dry-waller. He started his first bow drill fire when he was thirteen and spent the next forty years learning bushcraft and studying plants and edibles. He has even developed some of his own survival techniques and is a skilled hunter with both a bow and a slingshot.

Sending positive vibes your way!!
Yeah nothing like watching somone go hungry for you to feed better. Ffs
Indeed! I can definatly say the same!
Agreed 👍💯
Fin's such a good boy. He just kind of does his own thing until you call him and he's right there by your side.

This man has a way of helping with depression. Bless you Greg, you're appreciated more than you could ever know!
Maybe you need to touch grass
@@powdermcdust8335why did you feel the need to comment that? Maybe YOU need to touch grass and reflect on yourself.
Oh and that's rich coming from a guy making minecraft videos.

I think it's his laidback sounding voice, kinda like Chong from Cheech & Chong
The Bob Ross of the outdoors.
It's so relaxing to watch you set up a camp.
I’ve had such a overwhelming horrible day/week, and honestly Greg is like therapy for me. These videos are like me living out my own fantasy of wanting to do all of this stuff. I learn so much and get to experience Greg living his best life. Been watching for years, keep it up my brotha man
You too, huh? Damn it seems like everyone is down in the dumps right now. I know a lot of people who are catching covid for their 1st or 2nd time. I'm just staying home cause I had it last year and don't want to get it again. I hope you find comfort and happiness soon, pal.
@@Mikelitoris666 thanks for that my guy, needed that today tbh
@@Marcus96s keep staying strong man.
Greg’s content is awesome!
The most peaceful times of my life started camping with my mother on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean with just a tent and we would eat whatever we caught on the fire.. My favourite memory to go to in my head when life is tough is in the woods, I remember every detail.
Life lately has gotten so difficult.. I am 50 have just been diagnosed with early onset dementia along with a slew of medical issues, my husband is in the end stage of heart failure, my bosses are horrible, I’m about to lose my home.
Greg helps, his demeanour, his patience and positive attitude helps me distress and fall asleep.
I am ever grateful for Greg and his team.
Thank you
No fancy gear. No branding. All skill. Perfect. Loved this. Enjoyed sharing this experience with you. Keep living life!
When the world is coming to an end, and thats getting close every day, i want to be close to this man.. he's surviving and crafting skill is what most of us MUST learn!
why would you want to survive? It's gonna be worse than mad max!!

It was great to catch with some of Greg's tips. It is always nice to just listen to him talk. An efficiency of words. Stay well. You're a legend.
Truely, thank you so much for helping to releive my ADHD and anxiety. I hope you and Finn are always safe.
Love this bed. Clearly, warm, water resistant, heavy enough to make you feel safe. This is one of my top favorites of what you do and advise. This is a great Saturday morning!
Hello Nancy how's it going with you over there?
Yea until a huge bear comes and digs you out lol.
Always fun to go on an adventure with Greg and Finn. Keep on doing that thing you do and we'll keep watching.
Starting the day with Greg ovens and coffee, not to shabby

Ending my day with greg and a beer 👌
Greg showed and teach us another great survival video. Keep it coming Greg and Finn.
My favourite bushcraft/outdoors channel by far. Respect for showing it warts and all, and for sharing your various ideas and adaptations.
Thanks Greg. This is a good lesson in getting a bow drill fire going in a wet condition.
Thank you Greg, real life content is always more interesting and informative, good , bad, or indifferent, survival is where you make it, thanks for keeping it real 🙂
Greg has a wealth of knowledge love to watch these videos and learn what to do and what not to do.
I always like to watch Greg's videos, especially when I'm thinking of going camping. Your videos are the best Greg, you've taught me so much!
Got your lighter?
always happy to see survival challenges again
Haven’t watched any of your videos for seven or eight months just due to living life. I’ve got to say, they are so much better now without some silly edit every three minutes. Just the right amount now I think. Great video Greg, glad to see you’re doing well.
honestly this man is amazing, almost meditative. Thanks Greg!
Without a doubt, best bush craft video's on UA-cam! Thank you, Greg.
Growing up in Colorado we were taught survival skills, forestry, and biology, in elementary school and had many field trips into the rocky mountains 🙂👍
Stolen lands stolen legacy
What's not to love about this man Greg is the real deal please like and subscribe to the best outdoors channel on u tube no coffee no tarp wat more do you want greets from Holland
Thanks Greg! I always have fun watching your videos! You and Fin are truly delightful!✌
I'm on travel this week working and it's been a little stressful, tbh. I grabbed lunch and came back to my hotel room for a bit and watched this challenge. Greg and Finn have a way of relieving all that tension and I think that calming voice of reason in every situation is what I needed to hear today. Loved the ideas of the windbreak, straw blanket, elevated moss bed & heated rocks. I think I could do it if I were in that situation. Thanks Greg and keep 'em coming. Really enjoy your videos man....
Great job ,you always are showing us something new that really works thanks so much that you take the time and teach us all these ways to survive in the wild !
Hell ya man watched you on alone, so glad you’re doing this on UA-cam now, dry wall is a HARD way to make a living, you deserve to be doing what you love so I am glad to see it! Keep it up!
I’m always impressed how you can start a fire like that!
Greg love your videos wish you well and thank you for letting us all join your adventures!
I feel good when I see Greg Ovens new video notification ❤️😊 Thank you.
Such a lovely, soothing place, the lake looks so calm, wonderful serenity ! Those forest sounds, light breeze, marvelous.
i love these videos ! im camping solo on a kayak fishing trip on canada u.s border and i like to watch these videos at camp at night when winding down
I always learn so much when i watch this channel and in my opinion, this channel provides the MOST AUTHENTIC version of survival guides. Just as raw as it gets. I appreciate it A lot because if I ever really get stranded or lose my way, I most likely won’t be able to pull out my frying pan and grill my leftover steak dinner and add ketchup or bbq sauce or go to the store and pickup some black pepper.
This is the most approachable survival stuff I've ever seen. Very cool
It's just incredible what beauty, what atmosphere you were able to create. This is truly a meditative experience watching you. I myself started making videos about my adventures, so I'm interested in everything. Grretings from Belarus tourist.
Thank you. Great Time.
16:25 This is why I love Greg. He leaves the footage of him tripping over a tree. That clip would have never seen the light of day if it were me. But he's such a genuine, honest, entertaining human being that he's like, "I mean, I fell. Happens. What are you gonna do?" You rock, dude.
you mena he trip for purpose dont be stupid he felt byhimself
@@LuisGazzashhhh
@@LuisGazza Bro what are you yapping about 💀
I really appreciate him for this also. Besides he usually shows the most genuine aspects of survival. Even this. You can trip, get a cut or otherwise hurt yourself. In a true survival scenario any accident can be the start of the end
Reminds me of Les Stroud.
It is definitely time to double down on food and water preps guys! Happy to offer help and advice if needed👍
My fiancé and I just got back from camping, thanks for all the inspiration Greg!!!
I like watching you channel because showing what you doing while talking able it.
Great tips here. Thanks Greg.🐸🍺🔪🔥
God bless this man for his knowledge of survival it's truly awesome knowledge that he shows. And protect him through his adventures in the wild.
Greg has always been my go to
Another excellent video Greg 👍👍. Luv that blanket + same as me . I don't use gloves, while digging & foraging for materials 😉. Great advice on the bow drill method, I had a hard time learning it 🥴. Now it only takes me minutes 😃
Love these videos Greg..thanks for sharing this with us…👍🍻🇨🇦
I really enjoy it when somebody does something I've never done or thought of great idea and thanks for the idea. there is one thing that a lot of the people that are doing these little instruction videos there's one thing that none of them ever say and it's something that you really should say and that's mindset you've got to get into a mindset before you can do anything I don't understand why you guys teaching this stuff don't bring that up at least once during whatever the guys trying to teach. but Greg think about it you got to have that mindset especially especially if you're in that situation. thanks for the video.

Why not have your own show, Greg? Have you ever been offered? More people need to see you. You are incredible!
Your dog, Fin, loves you. That's great.

All the spots were so cool! I am loving all the awesome wood and trees! Oh mannnnn! Okay! Carry on! He’s alright🤩😎
Great video Greg! Loved it! Hope you didn't bang up your knee too bad.
My favorite channels of this kind of content is this and Steve Wallis
Thanks Greg and Fin !
Should brand and sell Greg Ovens bow drill kits for us people that never done it but want to learn. I'd buy one just to simply ensure you can fund future videos. Keep it up Greg! Love the videos
Awesome awesome awesome video Greg thank you so much for all you do for us! Loved the raised bed with the moss and hot rocks it was very cool 😎
I'm soooo excited to find you!!! And to know the world CAN LEARN HOW TO SERVIVE!!! I've done homeless in woods many times
You are very creative and your survival techniques are always good. I just wish you would catch some fish or have something other than wild onions to eat. Your bed looked pretty comfy. The scene reminded me of a homeless person looking for a safe place to sleep at night. Finn is so excited to be in the woods. Take care. 💞
Hello Janet how's it going with you over there?
A great video. I greatly enjoy your videos and your survival teachings
I think the video was very cool too Greg, smart! GOD BLESS 😎🇨🇦🇺🇲
Very cool Greg, thanks for showing us this I got a lot out of it.😊☮️
Awesome video! As always it's interesting & instructive from you
I am glad you're making videos like this👍🏼
Makes me wince every time you crack wood with your knees Greg!!😆 Cool video, really enjoyed it, Thank you 👍
Nicely chronicled jaunt -- you make it look easy! Well, except for the stumble . . . and speaking of graceful moves, I too managed to wrench my left knee a few years ago (alas, I was attacked by a wild area rug in the bedroom). The hyper extended joint seemed to result in injury to the medial tendons on both sides, and I had a noticeable limp for a few weeks. After 2 years it seemed about 90% healed, even though I was eating well and exercising. A while back I really upped the protein intake (to about 2g/Kg of body weight per day). A couple of weeks ago I realized I couldn't remember the last time I winced because of knee pain on that side. Hope your healing progress comes sooner!
Lol
Fantastic ingenuity Greg! It's a great day when one of your vids drops!
Thank you Greg, I really enjoyed this episode!
That's a really cool bed idea. Great video!
Great content mate 👏
Nice editing Mr Fowler!
What a team 🌲🔥
Never ever take your eyes off your path when you're stepping over anything, only do so when on 'flat' ground, with no debris in pathway!!! What mistake you did, as you are stepping over deadfall, you called out to your dog, eyes looking back as you called for dog, he was alright, and will make sure he is close to you, at least as far as he can see you at all times!!! Agree? Love your programs, and you may save people who are out in the wilderness.
I'm so glad I found your channel. Much appreciated, from here in New Zealand.
Greg is the Bob Ross of Outdoor Survival
Lol I liked how you circled the fish jumping.
Just love your videos and have been binge watching. When you don't know what day it is you know you are living life right. As an avid fly fisherman I love some of the places you fish. You should really look into Tenkara. The actual brand is a big pricey but you can buy knock offs quite cheap. The really nice feature is how they collapse down to quite a small packable rod. The Tenkara SATOKI™ 10'8" / 12'2" / 13'7" (adjustable) would be great. Being adjustable in length, it gives you different options in tight spaces as well as open spaces. It is beefy enough to handle large fish yet limber enough to enjoy catching small fish as well. They are incredibly easy to cast and are such an organic way to fish.
Can't wait to see you on the Alone episodes this August 👍
16:26 now that was a pretty funny fall haha.
Always look forward to new episodes on my favorite channel. Thank you Greg Ovens.
Love those 4k uploads.
I bet you have a torn meniscus. I'm going to make plans to have mine operated on soon, sometimes it make the knee seem to give out but it's really just the sudden sharp pain that I'm not used to. Thanks so much for the video Greg, I look forward to you (mostly Finn) and your honest, real videos.
I made a mistake, I commented on the teaching in schools, can't find it to fix. I was saying yes, everyone should know all of these things, is what I what I was commenting about. Wrong Negative person!
He is a very good teacher, and true with what he does show us. It's called survival! He shows and explains how to, in Mother Nature. His explanations of how, could save the life of anyone! So don't watch if you don't want to.
Negativity Sucks K?, K. + SMATTA WIT YOU? NZ.,✌, I promise,,it doesn't hurt to learn! I guarantee it!
Always a pleasure to watch your videos brother.Lots of love from Mama Africa.
Great Video! Like the scenario and survival aspect of this one. Keep down the track you are doing. 2-3 night ruffing it is awesome.
You had 3 items. Don't forget the good boi who kept you company...More valuable than strong coffee in the morning
Thank you for the video! ☺♥
My favorite was your raised bed, the best survival channel. Thanks for sharing all the way to Sweden.

The bedding you could use the ever popular BC grass. That should put you to sleep nicely.
