    Fossil prepping extinct nautilod - orthoceras. It was over 20hours of prep in 10minutes video:). My most difficult fossil prep so far, it was a sticky fossil, matrix wassnt popping off the fossil easily, had to dremel out the last layer with rotatory tool, but overall result is respectable. I've gained a lot of experience with this project, which will apply to future preps!

      Oh no man greatest work wouldnt include dinks from engraver on the fossil, but i did learn something next time if sticky fossil happens - i will deal with it with rotatory tool
      From the stary:)

    Wow! So exiting! I wish l could discover something like that. Imagine….. the last time that creature saw the light of day was 400,000,000 years ago and you’re the first one to see it again! Beautiful finish on it, it looks great. Love your tats by the way 😊

    Great job! I did not know the Dremel 290 was a chisel tool! Everyone here sells it as a "Dremel rotary tool - engraver" which is completely false!
    How hard is the matrix on your fossils? I have noticed that my trilobite fossils are found in granite like rock here which can barely be scratched with stainless steel. Is there anything I can do to soften it that does not soften the actual fossil too?

    • @Amberscape

      1🫣, but i should have used more - maybe that was part of the issue with the fossil being increasingly sticky when i moved on

    Got a question for ya, since I cant get Baltic amber here and alot of the internet is filled with dodgy fakes is there a website etc you can trust to sell raw Baltic amber? really want to give it a go myself

    • @Amberscape
      @Amberscape  2 роки тому

      Ah man raw pieces is always trouble to buy, theres practically no sellers who sell raw, depends on what kind of raw piece you are looking for i can sell it for you - you want with some specific inclussion?
