Fossil prepping extinct nautilod - orthoceras. It was over 20hours of prep in 10minutes video:). My most difficult fossil prep so far, it was a sticky fossil, matrix wassnt popping off the fossil easily, had to dremel out the last layer with rotatory tool, but overall result is respectable. I've gained a lot of experience with this project, which will apply to future preps!

I've been waiting for this video!!! I think you did the greatest job and couldn't have prepped it better, it's a magnificently beautiful piece!! Veeery nice, Jarek!!
Oh no man greatest work wouldnt include dinks from engraver on the fossil, but i did learn something next time if sticky fossil happens - i will deal with it with rotatory tool
From the stary:)
@@Amberscape It still looks phenomenal man, don't be too hard on yourself!
Wow! So exiting! I wish l could discover something like that. Imagine….. the last time that creature saw the light of day was 400,000,000 years ago and you’re the first one to see it again! Beautiful finish on it, it looks great. Love your tats by the way 😊
Yeaa thats a nice thought😁
This one is quite big.. Beautiful fossil you found there👍🏻💪🏻
Thanks!😁 im
Happy with this one too:)
Fabulous prep video Jarek, what a superb fossil find 😍
Thank you Dave! Appreciate the kind words:)
Very beautiful fossils Jarek! Of course amber is amazing but it is always interesting to see other fossils and prep methods on your channel
Impressive find, Jarek! I always ignore the big rocks and that is obviously a mistake lol :D
Thanks man! I myself ignore them sometimes😁🫣
I’ve started looking more at the big rocks. Bigger rocks = bigger fossils or multi block with many fossils. I’m getting better but still waiting for something amazing
What a beautiful fossil. You prepped it very well. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you!🙏🔥
We always learn by doing! Still a excellent prep!
Thanks!:) experience is always valuable for sure:)
Awesome I’m ready for this video 🤘
Hope u didnt get disapointed:))
What an amazing find! I can only imagine the satisfaction you must've got going from start to finish. The finished product is really very nice. Plus more experience for future fossil preps. Job well done. 👍♥️
Thanks! Will try more next time😁
You have meeting with a creature after 450.000.000 years ago! This is amazing!
Remains of the creature - but yes🔥😁
@Amberscape Yes, but it was a loooong time alive, and you touched that creature as remains after 450.000.000 years you are lucky :)
I was very haply when i discoveted this erratic containjng the fossil, to this date its still my best orthocetas!:)
Wow! Awesome find. Get prep work. Your finished fossil looks amazing. Thanks for sharing the video of you prepping it. Neat stuff.
My pleasure Lisa! Glad u liked it:)

From Lithuania;)
Again awesome work! Was able to get out on a fossil and Gold hunt for a few hours and found some small items. Put on my channel that small bird/reptile fossil that my friend found...some pics of it.
Before I forget; what did you brush on to cover and highlight the fossil? Thanks again and beautiful work 👍🍻
B72 paroloid:)
Thanks for the tip 👍... do you use a little acetone?
Mine was premized in 10% acetone sollution:)
@@Amberscape Thanks again! Now I need more fossils 🙂
Love this video
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it😁💪
Great job! I did not know the Dremel 290 was a chisel tool! Everyone here sells it as a "Dremel rotary tool - engraver" which is completely false!
How hard is the matrix on your fossils? I have noticed that my trilobite fossils are found in granite like rock here which can barely be scratched with stainless steel. Is there anything I can do to soften it that does not soften the actual fossil too?
Hey thete! Chisel and needle tips for dremel 290 i bought seperatelt from paleozoic tools!
Where did you get the chisel shaped bit from? I’ve been trying to find one.
Check zoicpaleotech website:)
Hi. Please can you tell me where you buy your tips for your Dremel? I can't find a fitting chissel...
On paleozoic tech website:), bought them online from paleozoic tech:)
Jarek - what do you use at 8:36? how do you preserve fossils?
Its paraloid b72 , like liquid plastic:)
Howmany chisel points have you used on this project?
1🫣, but i should have used more - maybe that was part of the issue with the fossil being increasingly sticky when i moved on
Got a question for ya, since I cant get Baltic amber here and alot of the internet is filled with dodgy fakes is there a website etc you can trust to sell raw Baltic amber? really want to give it a go myself
Ah man raw pieces is always trouble to buy, theres practically no sellers who sell raw, depends on what kind of raw piece you are looking for i can sell it for you - you want with some specific inclussion?
@@Amberscape honestly not worried bout inclusions just want a decent size to work and shape
Jarek, i have a question. Are you from Lithuania or Latvia? I know a lithuanian girl and she says that you are from Latvia because of the name, is it true? Greetings from germany. 👌🏻
Im from Lithuania:), but my roots are from poland - Jarek is slovakian name:)
Very beautiful fossils Jarek! Of course amber is amazing but it is always interesting to see other fossils and prep methods on your channel
Thanks Alrik! As long as its entertaining😁
