It's amazing that he bothered to do this for his fans, to sit in his house with a tape recorder and just talk for the benefit of people who love him. These recordings wouldn't sell records, it's not a very effective marketing tool! Most rock stars/actors/whatever are so full of themselves and wouldn't bother; even with Twitter, it's all about THEM. Just more proof that John Frusciante is just wonderful. A lovely human being.
I find it beautiful that they have millions of dollars they could just blow on gifts, but in the end flowers and a note is all he wants. These guys are pure.
@HuckleberrySlim You make great points. As an Artist, I pick and choose who I explain myself to, and how. What you say about comfort zone is spot on. In the midst of paintings, there will be days where I dont pick up a brush, dont speak, and just dwell within myself, listening to anything but my own mind as much as possible. I hum, repeat a word or mantra to induce trance states, without thought so I am approaching my work humbly and honestly & I try to let that flow thru my brush uncorrupted.

Wagner's most commonly heard composition is "Here comes the Bride" You know, the one you hear at weddings. (Aside from that one, his other stuff is brilliant. You should definitely check him out)
John is on a totally different path musically than Anthony and Flea. John is out making all this electronic music. He has a new LP coming out next Tuesday in case you haven't heard.
yeah I really dont think he's a synesthesic, he is simply an artist. Being an artist is his comfort zone. He relates everything in his life to it. Every single person retreats to their comfort zone after they wake up out of bed. Artists give their attention towards the retreat of the senses themselves, all five of them. Feelings can be captured in all of them. Its easy to mix feelings up with senses including sounds and colors. Everyone does it. Especially someone who has made it their life.
I know this is an old comment but I was reading on Synthesia and I saw something that said most people are. It's just that something that stimulates one sense indirectly stimulates another sense or something like that. Anyway just thought I would share that info.
@painxtreme Oh, and words are shapes, some have faces, others more amorphic. Some are heavy, some float away, some dissipate. and I wont go into people. I think the contributing factor of psychadelics for me was their allowing me to give a weak verbal interpretation to what was previously beyond words. To 90% reading this, I sound psychotic, I am sure. This is why Artists that live in red states don't associate with others much. Its hard enough to relate to people that get it to a degree.
So what is the exact story on his arms?? Were they abses from I.V. drug use. Or did he get burnt in a fire or both.Even inthis picture it looks like healed absess???
@bigmike2899 Not necessarily true. While Ive experienced hallucinogens of most every stripe, I tasted colors and felt tones and sound prior to them....Associating colors to flavors can lead to some real disappointments in life, but that's what keeps the wave hilarious.
