    Whenever I would watch John when I was younger, I always just thought his brain was a little messed up from drugs. Now that I actually pay attention to what he is meaning, not just what he is saying, you can see the brilliance of his thoughts. He may not communicate his thoughts very easily, but like he said, when the ideas are being transfered, not just the words or language, it is really beautiful.

    I thought that about words and music all my life. some of my favorite songs I don't know the words to because its the transference of feelings. Words arent as important as the energy behind the music

    I love listening to John talk. He is so right about what people think about his simpler albums like californiacation. Everyone (not actually everyone but u know what i mean) thought that he was a not so good guitarist. But I fell in LOVE with guitar and the red-hot chili peppers and especially John when I learnt californiacation on guitar. It was my hook on guitar. I love u JFru!

    Man from watching interviews of him back in 1994, he could barely talk, murmuring and stuttering, barely making any sentences, like drugs destroyed him. But look at him now, as positive as ever, making sense of life, making sense of what he see's, changing lives. He is a god amongst men, i would like to see anyone, do anything as brave as Frusciante. I hope he lives well past 100

    "i think usually even when we think we know what things mean, i dont really think we do. words in peoples' heads, even if it's the same word, they mean one thing to one person and they mean another thing to the other person... they're not very precise, so if you get a feeling from something, to me that's the important thing."

His inside really reflects his outside, there are very few people like him that can really do a thing like that, the world probably would be more at peace if there actually were more people like him. I thank him with all my heart and i wish him the best of worlds, 'cause he deserves it.

    Actually, he has like 10 solo albums. But needless to say, he is an incredibly amazing guitarist. Is he the best of all time? Probably not, but he is definately up there. And as for the band, they are definately one of the best bands still making new music. They have been around for almost 25 years, and have progressed musically the whole way.

    +1 Marked as spam Reply | Spam JF is simply a Genius. He's as vital to the band now as he was in BSSM. He does not need to justify/prove his role in the band--ever! I've been a fan since Hilel, who was a god in his own right. Then ,as now, perhaps my favorite part of the music is the guitar/bass...no guitar...no bass...I really can't tell.

Made me happy when I'm down, to be more nice to less fortunate people and of course inspired me greatly in my music force. He is amazing.

    That's true, but it wouldn't really change his voice...
    because your mouth is what amplifies your voice, and any sounds you make resonate on your teeth and cheeks etc...and when you suddenly replace your teeth with dentures, often your voice can change...personally I don't think his voice has changed that much...

    One of the reasons John is one of my favorite guitarists is because he took guitar playing in that subtle angle that most presumed was just because he lacked he shredding chops that grab your attention. He served the songs and complimented the rest of the band rather than stood forward most of the time. I love his work later when he decided to be flashier of course but his simple style was what made him special to me at least. I dig what he's doing now too. I really can't knock what he puts out, I'm a stan for this dude lol.

  • @deezbroski
    @deezbroski 16 років тому

    no dude. I said he is better than ever now, and understands music much better, in my original post you responded to.
    I'm just sayin' he couldn't pull off what he was doin' back then. It wouldn't work. Of course he could do it, anyone who has played guitar for at least a year could probably do all those tricks i mentioned.
    I liked his style back in the Mother's Milk era a little more than now, but i love his stuff now. Solo's like Animal Bar, Hey, C'mon girl and 21st century are amazing. :)

  • @deezbroski
    @deezbroski 17 років тому

    yea thats a good way to describe it. like the stuff he did back then, he could get close to, but could not replicate now, but stuff he does now, he could have done back then. but the passion he puts into his work now, is better, because he has such a better understanding of music in general now. either way he is just one of the best of all time, but i was rally influenced a lot by his early work (MM/BSSM)

  • @deezbroski
    @deezbroski 17 років тому

    to be honest, i thought he was a better guitarist back in the Mothers Milk/BSSM era. Definitely made better music back then. but yea im happy he is gettin' noticed, IMO he was probably a top 20ish guitarist back in the early 90s, he was good, but it will get overlooked cuz now they are so mainstream =/ most chili's fans don't even know what mother's milk is.

    'Proves that Josh doesn't fit nearly as well as John. Like, I read a review of the new album, a negative one, that said it's just a diluted version of Stadium Arcadium and they have nothing new to say, and I really think that's just because they found the ideal combination with John and he was integral in moving in a new direction. I mean, he's ALWAYS doing weird new shit, trying things. They totally have new things to say, it's just that their new lead guitarist can't help them say it.

  • @phisean

    @ChuckNorrisKratosLOL
    It's not a recognised word with any meaning apart from an rhcp album title, so it's a proper noun and does not feature in the dictionary. You should read his sentence like "Its not a word [in the dictionary]" It's pretty dick-ish to be pedantic about a guy who's almost autistic except in regards to music and art; he's already said words and titles aren't a big thing for him and he's better using a guitar as an idiom. lol - what is that? An effete disclaimer?

  • @SgGreg

    Non-native speaker? He was born in New York! His speaking ability was fine until he self medicated himself on H to suppress his symptoms of schizophrenia. He then got all of his teeth pulled because his teeth where beyond a point of use from the H, and now wears dentures. So it's a combination of three things, schizophrenia, dentures, and extreme H use. But that's the way it goes, sometimes the gifted have to pay a price.

    rhythm is the most important thing in music, later comes the melody and harmony. It's a fact, they told me on the conservatoire I've been on. I always thought myself that music is only real or can be real when the're is harmony and great sounds like that. Later comes rhythm, John feels the same way, now I want to marry him.

    @55liesbeth he smoked so much weed that he developed a paranoia. he also started hearing voices in his head that were telling him to leave the band, which he did I believe during their Blood Sugar Sex Magik tour. All of them did a lot of drugs, except for Chad maybe. but yeah, when their band was losing their best players it was due to extensive drug intake, for the most part.

    @schaefercarson1 you said that you believe that he's being modest (which he seems to always be :) ) and that he probably wrote most of the bass lines and both parts of there songs... but I think that he's being very honest in saying that flea probably wrote just as much as he did... but in the end i suppose it doesn't matter cause the music's great no matter who wrote it

    I think that's because on Mother's Milk he was getting acclimated to the band. I absolutely love the album also myself (just recently bought it,) but it's quite apparent that he is taking massive influence and suggestion from Hilel's style, and seems to be playing somewhat in Hilel's shadow, so to speak.

    He was in worse shape than Layne Staley in the 90's. Great to see how far he has come. It's always great when rock stars get past the cliche that is heroin use and other bad behavior and get on with cultivating their talent. It would have been such a shame to waste such great talent.

    he somehow got an infection in his mouth, so they had to tear out all of his teeth and give him a set of porcelain replicas. he most likely injected into his gums/cheek/under tongue area. there are pretty strong blood vessels in your mouth, so users inject there sometimes if their arms are too battered.

    Last time I checked, the only person that sounded better BEFORE rehab was Trent Reznor, not so much better as much as different. He was awesome either way.
    Frusciante got musicaly better after rehab, but I feel RHCP should be careful of becoming a Frusciante support band.

    @rmerc79 I disagree. It's so American to focus so much on the guitar. I think Flea plays a bigger part than most people realize.

    from vpro to this...thank God John came up from the ashes of hell and "cleaned" up. He is so awesome. I wish that stalker would leave him and his wife alone. Let the past stay there. Let him move on with his life and do his solo albums.

    I have the same problem... I'll try to get some deep point across, but I can't interpret it into words very well, and that pisses me off no end!! I'm better at writing my thoughts down, when I have time to organise my words and turn of phrase.
