Also the section right after you get the woodside apartment front door key and you're forced to run in a wind storm avoiding enemies along the way. That section is rough regardless of how fast your computer is. The 1% lows on the 1.0 release version even bring a 4090 into the 20s at 4k resolution.
@03chrisv i haven't noticed that actually. I'm only monitoring fps and gpu cpu usage so fps drops are the only noticeable things to me. That windy section is fine to me even on a 5600x processor. But the indoor otherworld is something else. Especially that specific landing spot after you jumped in a big hole in the apartment
Seems like the stuttering is significantly less in that forest area, may give this game a go now. I never played the original and i usually like horror games.
It's so stupid how we have to have dlss in order to get frames above 60 these days. Nvidia really did us dirty by inventing dlss. Otherwise game designers would just optimize their trash. The circle of business continues....
The hell you talking about? The DLSS is to offset the insane graphical technology that being used in current games. Unreal Engine 5, Ray Tracing, there's no god damn optimization in the world that would get current gen games to run on shitty GPUs.
@@WheeledHamster optimization is an art that not much people want to master, you can search the case of how Quake developers found a brilliant way to describe the value of sqrt(x), or how the devs of kkrieger found a way to make their game 97kbs, or how historically Nintendo has found incredible ways to make their games run in consoles that at first glance didn't seem too powerful, there is always a way to optimize code, the problem is that it requires an absurd knowledge of math, and creativity, and the vast majority of programmers don't want to master those things
Frame Gen is the best thing since sliced bread. My frames are doubled with RT on wow hitting 120 fps with everything on high settings shadow quality low 😊
If you made dlss DLL upgrade and ray reconstruction upgrade and frame generation mod on the base game, will the patch delete previous optimizations? And how does it compare? Better dlss and frame gen and RR with original mods or better to use new patch only for those who play the game for the first time? Also RR added really better reflections, is this solved with the patch or you need to enable RR with the old mods?
With the latest update with dlss activated and frame generation activated, the screen has a violet filter, the filter goes away if I deactivate frame generation. I have a rtx 4060ti 16gb
For some reason, the latest version of DLSS 3.7.20 does not work for me? I tried to replace it, but the log file is not being created. Everything worked on the previous version, I did activation via DLS Tweak. After the update, the version remained the same, I just replaced the file with a new version of dlss , but strangely it did not activate.
It actually works perfect now when connected via cable (including the radio through the speaker)....but... ALL controllers still lose haptic feedback after 5 mins or so (pressing a key / moving mouse brings it back).
@@RiftWalkerIX for dual sense controller features (light bar for health, adaptive triggers, haptic feedback, radio static on controller speaker), you don't want steam input. Also FG is it playable or adds too much input lat and screen tearing, artifacts like all other gamesike hellblade 2 and alan wake 2? I could never use FG, makes the games so bad, its better a constant 30fps than FG
I don't know why you still stubbornly combine such a powerful GPU RT4080 with a rather weak CPU. Generally, as I noticed, UE5 are extremely demanding, and graphically it's not some kind of generational leap

Did you watch the difference between the launch version and patch 1.04? Lol. The frame time graph literally looked like a heart rate monitor in the original unpatched game.
@@theyoungjawn I don't need to see framtime graph. I fired up the game to test the apartments section and it was a stuttery mess. My OLED monitor was flickering like crazy suggesting the frametime graph is still like a heart rate monitor. It DID improve in the open world sections.

Benchmarks for this game should always be inside the apartments and the otherworld section. That is where the real stress is.

You're right. That's where I notice the most drop as well. Especially in the otherworld version of Brookhaven.
The ultimate test is the apartments. That's where the bulk of the stuttering is
Woodside apartments was really the smoothest part in the game for me, just finished it. Stutters were happening when exploring town
Why, indoor shit is more taxing?
The stutters are more sparse now. At launch they were every 5 secs or so. It was terrible.
That's right.
They’re also barely noticeable now. The jumps in the frame time graph are very small compared to the huge ones in the launch version.
never had that problem with an old PC in fact
10:12 this is how i would play the game
just what i was waiting for, tnx.

Same :)
For sure a must play now! Incredible game!
Finally! and cutcenes in 60 fps now with FG!!!
Should have tested in the Bluecreek Apartment areas instead. That's where the stutters going to hill.
cap your fps through nvidia control panel or rivatuner, there will be less stuttering compared to using the ingame fps cap.
