      Hey Mad About Skin,
I loved your video! Actually I would even consider the Face Theory as affordable as the ordinary product, because I have to use less product per application. Of the creamy ordinary product I would use a pea sized amount, which is supposed to be 0,25 ml (number I found in a study about tooth paste) but 4 drops or ca. 1 ml (amounts stated on my vitamin D dropper bottle) of the face theory serum. Using those amounts the ordinary would last 120 days (7,20/120=0,06€ per application), face theory 300/600 days (25/300=0,08€ per application or 39/600=0,065€ per application). What do you think?

The FT i used for 9 months now, only 2x a week, due to sensitivity of my skin. I manage 2-3 FT retinol applications and max 2 azelaic acid applications per week. In my case I get pricked by 1000 needles for about 10-15 minutes after applying it. But the results are worth it even though I don't have any fun using it. This and the retinol and the vitamin c serum are probably the best of their kind on the market!!! Thanks for your FT code. X

I recently switched from The Ordinary 10% azelaic acid that didn't seem to do anything for my skin to the Face Theory 15% one. And I swear, no skin care product has ever made such a huge difference as that one. My boyfriend asked me why I was wearing make up when we were going hiking -I wasn't. I just have great skin nowadays. 😃 And I found that brand thanks to you btw!

The face theory Azelaic acid is amazing!!!! And to be able to get 15% is even more amazing. Not only has it been helping with my spots of pigmentation, it has also helped to balance my skin type and improve the overall brightness and tone. I love using it was my retinol at night and on and off during the day. I’ve been using the Paulas Choice 10% for a while and thought it was good (it’s still is) but it can not compare to the face theory and how soothing and moisturizing it is because of the green tea and oats to use everyday, Paulas can’t touch that balance. Paulas is great as a spot treatment for breakouts because it has 2% salicylic acid and preventing hyperpigmentation of those spots for me as a dark skin girl. Thank you for introducing a skincare lover from US to such a good and quality UK brand like Facetheory!

Hi Rob! I love Azelaic Acid, it saved me! I used to apply a prescription gel (metronidazol) for my rosacea, but since I moved from México to France and I didn't bring my prescription because I lost it (in México I don't need it to buy it). Looking for an option B without a prescription, I discovered The Ordinary Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%. In fact, recently I bought my second tube and it seems that they changed the formula, because now it is more hydrating and easy to use with other products, it doesn't peel at all. It is better than before for sure. Now, since I discovered your videos some weeks ago, I'm dying to try the Face Theory Azeclear A15 Serum thanks to you. I'm going to order it as soon as I finish the one I have. Thanks for the recommendation!

I’m excited to add this one soon even though I only get blackheads and no acne. I’m finding even the ingredients that are “beneficial for acne” still help my skin look even better. Sounds like it does a little bit of everything and protects the skin. Hopefully good for calming after derma rolling 2😃. I’m going to get the G&G A pad - been in my cart for awhile and ur video confirms!

Hi Rob I've been using the geek and gorgeous azelaic acid for months and it's great for my reactive, rosacea and eczema prone skin. Prior to that I used the garden of wisdom version, which is also a derivative and more of a gel like formulation. I prefer the serum version from g&g tbh. I use this every morning and my retinoid most nights. If I'm missing out my retinoid due to sensitivity that day, I also use the azelaic acid at night. I pair mine with a niacinamide containing product (currently the cosrx dual chamber snail and niacinamide essence) with excellent results. I will move to a higher strength if this starts to become not quite enough, but currently it's working well with no irritation. Azelaic acid can be quite difficult to formulate well and some products have a gritty texture - the derivative is much smoother and easier to use normally in a pleasant serum like texture. This was my main issue with the ordinary version - it's gritty. Best wishes.

I’ve had the Face Theory azelaic acid on my to try list for a while...I’m sold! Have also had Garden of Wisdom Azelaic Acid on the same list. It is a derivative so maybe more gentle to start with. Excellent video! 💋

I love Azelaic Acid! It's one of the underrated ingredients that people have been sleeping on. I feel like we need more Azelaic Acid products because what we can buy right now are very expensive - i was prescribed a 20% Azelaic Acid cream, and although it was cheap as hell, but the texture was unpleasant, it pilled like crazy.
As of now, i'm simplifying my skincare routine and only use BPO and Adapalene to treat my acnes, PIH and PIE. BPO gel was the most irritating thing i've ever put on my face, but now that i use the cleanser version, it's not irritating at all. Adapalene is so gentle on my skin. I expected it to be as irritating as BPO, but i have never experienced any irritation at all. It feels like putting a regular gel on my face. No irritation, no stinging, no purging. Hopefully i see results from it because i started to use it a few days ago.

Thank you so much for your videos on azelaic acid. I discovered that Niod re pigment has an azelaic acid derivative in it formulation. This product
has cleared my rosacea pigmentation. I still have a little bit on my nose (worst affected area and I still get the occasional flare up), but the rest of my face is completely clear. I mix 3-4 drops in with the inkey list collagen booster or hylamide subq skin, this gives me better spreadably. For the pustules from my rosacea I was prescribed doxycycline, which cleared the pustules in a week but left the pigmentation. Thank you so much for giving me the confidence to try this product. This has become my holy grail.

I've just ordered the Face theory one - thanks for the code. I've tried the ordinary's and I think I tried the inkey list one as well but the ordinary one just sat on top of my skin and couldn't apply moisturiser over it even. Terrible - it all pilled up. The inkey list one didn't impress either. Hopefully I'll like this one. At least now I have a few recommendations to try out next if it doesn't. Both myself and my teenage daughter were using it. It has so many great benefits. Thanks for sharing Rob.

Love this video! I've been battling with mild perioral dermatitis around my nose after getting a bit too enthusiastic with skincare last year and am now soo careful with introducing anything new. I still have a stripped back routine focusing on hydration as my skin is very dry, but after trawling all reviews and product options for Azelaic Acid I decided to try the facetheory one. Oh my god, I've been using it for about a month now and it really has been amazing. I've buffered it and put it over my face oil and moisturiser, and only use it every two days, it still stung the first few applications but this has reduced with time. The most noticeable difference for me is that it has reduced my skin's reactivity to products, it's less itchy and irritated, and even with my buffering it, there is slow reduction in my hyperpigmentation. LOVE it and so glad to hear you rave about it too! Go easy if you have finickity skin I say! :) xx

Hi Rob! I've tried Geek & Gorgeous aPad and loved it! The light texture, the low irritation rate, the flexibility of usage.. I just add it to my routine regarless it is AM or PM skincare 🤩 My skin is hyper sensitive so sometimes I have to mix it with my mouisturaizer, but that's just my unfortunate skin, alas! Other than that, I would suggest it to all beguinners with sensitive combo/oily skin 🌸

Thanks for writing this Laura! Would love to know what else you use in your routine. I was about to get The Ordinary 10% one, but would hate the Pilling and stinging, so may well give this a go. Is it UK based or ship from afar? I currently use a gentle cleanser, aveeno moisturiser, and adapalene/epiduo on alternate nights. I'm due to start tretinoin instead, and will eed to be really gentle, but wondering about this A Pad on alternate nights in order to keep microbes at bay. I'm super sensitive skin with occasional breakouts, seemingly oily/combo but probably dehydrated. The adapalene and epiduo seem to leave my skin upper shiny even without oil, and I can't understand why apart from they're stripping the skin. Sorry for my ramblings! Anyone else seeing this please weigh in! . Hope to hear about your routine soon :)x

I've just discovered your channel & just started using Face Theory's Porebright N20 serum with azelaic acid & niacinamide as I have rosacea & hyperpigmentation. I was using Dermatica with tretinoin as well but retinol is a bit too harsh for my rosecea. I used to use The Ordinary azelaic acid but I couldnt bear the stinging, prickly feeling which went on for several minutes & not just a few seconds. The Face Theory serum definitely suits my skin so much better sensitivity-wise & it's keeping my rosacea & hyperpigmentation in check ✔️

Thanks for this great review, Rob 😊 I tried the Paula's Choice version in the past but it didn't seem to do much for my skin in comparison to niacinamide. People in the US:
If you're looking for a PAD derivative (but it's hard to get Geek & Gorgeous), I really like Naturium's 10% Azelaic Acid Serum. It's affordable and uses the PAD azelaic acid derivative, niacinamide, vitamin c, and caffeine. So it's a nice multi-use product all in one step.
I don't have sensitive skin but pure Azelaic Acid makes my skin itch (unless I wait 20-60 minutes after the rest of my skincare routine -- but I'm too lazy for that). The Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate (PAD) derivative causes no irritation, stinging, or itching even if I apply it immediately after cleansing. It also might have the added benefit of sebum regulating, which is great for super oily skin like mine.

Hi Rob I am looking at purchasing a azelaic acid, which one would you recommend for dry sensitive skin. How do you incorporate this in your skincare routine and can you use this with prescription trention. Thank you. Sending lots of love

Hi hun, I would start with the Geek and Gorgeous if you have dry skin as its the most hydrating and won't increase sensitivity alongside tret... I hope all is amazing with you and sending you lots of love xxxxx

I've been using the Cos de BAHA azelaic acid 10% serum and I love it! It also has hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, B3 and B5... plus it's only $15 on Amazon! It's my first azelaic acid though, so I have nothing to compare it to. Maybe I'll try one of these next!
