Another great video. The “handle” is actually a spreader-bar so the steps don’t constrict around the foot and it also makes it easier to place your foot into and out of the steps without getting tangled. Please keep the videos coming as they are very informative and make application much easier.
Awesome! Right now I'm customizing 5 inch in between step with 1/8 inch amsteel blue for my hawk helium. I need in between steps because I'm short with mobility issues. Makes climbing experience much more comfortable and me much more confident. Great video!

Hey Mark, always enjoy your videos, they educate and entertain at the same time. I recently put the 20" cable aiders on my full length Beast Sticks, coupled with Daisy Chains from 1/8" Amsteel. Tried it out today in the woods, aiders worked great, was able to "tilt" the sticks to hit the tighter loop on the Daisy Chains, anticipated some drop so I started right above my head, they only dropped to about "nose" level. Upon removal, the sticks were difficult to pull away from the tree, no "kick out" Routinely get to 21' on every hunt. Killed my first trophy buck 2 weeks ago. The additional height helped, he never knew I was even there. Anyway, that is what I am using. Keep the videos coming!!! Have a great season!!
Hey Mark. Just discovered your video. I actually purchased a two step and three step aider from the gym at Backwoods Mobile. In my humble opinion, it's one of the best aiders out there. The guys at BackWoods Mobile built these to my exact specs and delivered it with a great turnaround time. Highly recommend them!!
Good video!! Nice aider. I think the "handle" is more for keeping the webbing open. I like using my cinch buckle strap on my bottom stick. I can get it up a bit higher than with a rope attachment. It makes it a lot easier for me.
I made a 2 step aider for my 20"hawk helium sticks this year. 3 sticks gets me 17-18'. Might look at getting a 3 step from backwoods mobile gear as another option, might just make one too.
Good review Mark. I had a custom 2 step made for my beast or helium sticks. Great quality. FTR: With one aider and 3 sticks the top of my last stick I can easily get 21 foot (Platform height is 23 foot). with two sticks, 1 aider I can get 14 foot to top of 2nd stick. I then can easily get 16 for for top of platform. These aiders are very well made. BTW - the handle is more of a spreader IMO it keeps the foot loops open even when weight is applied to the step below. I still prefer a single CAYG in most cases for trees I climb, but for those with straight trunks and few branches, this is an awesome set up.
Thanks for the video. I've tried the two step and liked it but... In my opinion, there is just too much in my line of sight while climbing using it. I have recently tried a one step aider. I find I can get a little over 5' per stick. This will get the average guy up to 15' give or take without out clutter while climbing and, it's very very compact. Also, if you put your stand 2' over your last step your at about 17' at your feet. This is a pretty good height no matter where your hunting. I believe it's a bit safer and easier to use. FYI. If you put the aider on your foot it helps you pick your foot up when you attach the caribeaner to the step/ amsteel rope around the tree. Thanks again.
That product looked really well made. I have to say that Aiders scare the H out of me. I’m sure it is just because of lack of practice but when wearing a linesman belt, it doesn’t feel like I can keep adequate toe pressure into the tree to prevent my foot from kicking out sideways. I had that happen in the back yard testing a single step aider on my hawks. Had a painful reminder on the inside of my thigh for 6 months where my thigh caught the bottom step of the stick. Like everything, practice is super important to get proficient. For now, I’m good with getting to about 15’ with my 3 hawks.
They definitely do take practice. and it does seem harder with the lineman's rope on, because as u said u don't get the extra movement u get without the rope....
I did try it on my 17" shikars and it worked well...I even used it on my mini shikars today when I went and put out my Trail Cam... see if my big boy is on his same travel path...
Imagine getting like a 8 step aider. Set your first stick climb up set the second as high as you can reach then put in the 8 step aider. Climb back to the ground, take off your first stick. Then climb up the 8 step aider as now that is your first step like 12 feet up. Then set the next stick as high as you can reach then moved the aider and use only 3 of the steps. 2 sticks gets you like almost 20 feet. Someone good with aiders should try this
I use a 3 beast sticks and yates speed wall aider with a string hooked to it and move it up with me. And i set a stick at knee level then i get on top of it and set my first stick with the aider on it, So my top step of my first stick is a little over 9 feet. Then take stick off at knee high clip to my saddle and climb up move aider up so my platform is around 25 feet plus with 3 sticks.
I got the same version for use with WE steps. I think I got the step height too big for my short legs. That paired with the potential for sliding on a WE step I don’t particularly are for it. Ended up buying a Knaider/Swaider instead.
Mark Dohring I did actually see that video! After trying the knaider/swaider I just felt so much more safe and secure plus didn’t feel like I had to work as hard to climb. That’s the great thing about this sport, there are many options and you just need to find what works best for you!
I have the knaider swaider already and just ordered the 3 step for the WE steps. I went with 16 inch step spacing. What step spacing are in this video. Thanks for all you do.
5’ 10 1/2” tall ... i went with the three because it’s as high as I can reach... when using it with the shikar mini I put stitching right above the hand grab bar over the step .. works awesome
I believe is was 20", the Beast Stick steps are 22", I figured when I stepped into it, it would probably go down about 1-2" which would match the stick. I would say I was right.
Good morning and thanks for watching. The daisy chain is a good option, but I just don't think its for me. I made one and carried it on one of my sticks and what I found was I only hit a loop perfectly about 10-15% of the time and I really didn't like the fiddle factor of twisting the rope to get the loop closer or the idea of the steep angle of the rope when using a loop that didn't line up correctly. Doing the tying method had kept those sticks so tight to the tree I never even think of a kick out and most of the time when I remove the rope the stick is still stuck to the tree with the tying method, I didn't see this when I removed the daisy chain. But whichever one u are more comfortable with is what u should use.

That looks like a great aider! I use a single step homemade aider with three helium sticks and can get up to 22-23 feet. Thanks for the review!
I use that exact same set up for my lone wolf mini sticks I made by cutting my original sticks in half. Made the aider myself as well.

Just curious as to how tall you are since you're using the 3 step aider? I'm 5' 6", so I was thinking that a 3 step may work well for me as well.

I would just use screw in steps ,and then switch to climbing sticks.
Wi public landed can’t use screw in steps or anything that screws into a tree.
