What the 5 Civilzed Tribes alongside the US government need to hand this family back their land and assets that is rightfully there's. The moment Rector passed the lifetime of oil wealth ran dry immediately, and they stole it from her family. They should of have a networth of over 10 Billion. There a many Oklahoma oil families and they are always White which is interesting considering most areas they say they're from were Freedman areas. Meaning stolen land and stolen wealth per usual.
It really touches my soul when I get to hear positive stories of black history rather than always hearing the negative and how we used to be treated. Rip Sarah Rector
This not a positive story is extremely heartbreaking and sad. The Rector family today should be like the rest of these "White" oil families out of Oklahoma today... worth Billions.
The Civilzed Tribes which is the US government probably kept her money and it's been circulating through them for decades the same with the land its owned probably by a Native Corporation. The 1866 Treat is what will allow them to get what is rightfully owed to them but they need a powerful team of attorneys to assist. Stories like this happen to Black Americans all the time. The land, the money, the wealth just all magically disappears. It's nothing new state to state the wealth the land is owned by the US government or some 100 million or billion dollar corporation.
@PaulanCollins7585 I am Black American, but this is typical lower mentality of the Black Anericans. THIS STORY SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE HISTORY BOOKS. HER LIFE STORY SHOULD HAVE BOOKS, MOVIES, A HIGHLY ESTEEMED ESTATE. INSTEAD THEY SMOTHER OUT HER NAME AND HER STORY FOR FOOLISHNESS. SHAME. THE WOMAN SHOULD HAVE LEFT HER ESTATE UNDER THE CONTROL OF A RESPECTABLE TRUST FUND. INSTEAD OF THE GHETTO RELATIVES WHO ARE WASTING THIS IMPORTANT PART OF HISTORY.
I love this story, especially the fact that Sarah Rector was a student at Tuskegee University and was assisted by W.E.B. Du Bois and Booker T. Washington.
What happened to her 3 children, and why am i, seemingly, the only one asking. Sounds like a cover up. What happened to the land and oil rights? I know them devils went to work to strip that bloodline of their rightful legacy
@2:00 thats the probem right there, we been saying " let them talk " now look! " them " got all of America thinking we are from Africa. This woman had 3 sons, cant even find them today.
That's because the land that her father got w was divided into large parcels that he gave to each of his kids in their name. Sarah's was the land that had the huge oil strike.
They Shouldn't have too raise Money too Restore that home , if she was a Billionaire that money should have Rolled over and still being rolled over .I wonder what happened too the Money and why she left her land .The whole house should be Dedicated too her not one wing of the house and named a Historical Maker in that community.
Okay, that one with the little girl on the left and the grown women on the right is odd. The photo of the grown women is a photo of Callie Guy House who began the fight for reparations back in 1898.
@@michelej9496 Because her story is a fascinating piece of history. It would be nice to know if her wealth continues on to this day. I had read that she was lavish in her living, later on, so maybe it was all spent up? Dunno. Just curious.
It’s just crazy to me how it’s even possible when someone’s land should belong to their whole family. It ends up being an asset of the city. I understand family members get into a little pinch and I have to sell, but if she just not be allowed that way families can benefit.
I'm glad these ladies knew who their aunt was and set the record straight.

Lol I didn't take this as a positive story at all.

It’s so weird how her family did not inherit the money. Where are her children?? Where is her money and properties??
That's what I was thinking. Looks like they doing a trap house interview 😂
Stop it, they don't need, to explain nor respond.. .they have reason to stay private...

Why didn’t they show her real pics since the nieces are looking at them??
Did you not watch till the end? 🥴

Right! Notice they are not sharing the most important story. The story that circulates is the white man STEALING her land ..was this true?
💔💔💔💔💔need more on this story!!!!!
Thank you for setting the record straight... Be blessed
What happened to their land in Oklahoma? Oil is still there? Follow-up please.
An old white guy happened
I need to hear more about what happened and of her family still owns the property and whT really happened
Hi . How are you. I'm from Egypt. I'm looking for friendships. Have a nice time. Thanks
@sasayousef1907 hello. How are you??
Thank you for standing up for the truth...Anout the family .....
Why didn't her family get the house?

Wonderful story. Great lady.
Am I the only African descendant in the comments who understands that this is not a happy ending. Lol
No, this makes me sad. I just keep imagining “what if”.. 😩
@@BaldwinFanonGarveyTureShakurX are u sure your of African decent or are u indigenous to America? Have u did your genealogy?
What happened to the land that was producing oil? Who owns that?
Ava DuVernay i need you to make this movie
So she had brother and sister but she was the only rich one.
That's because the land that her father got w was divided into large parcels that he gave to each of his kids in their name. Sarah's was the land that had the huge oil strike.
I'd like to see pictures of the inside of the house
So where is her money now and who took possession of the oil and the land also what did she die from?
Excellent questions!👍🏽
I read that she lost most of it during the great depression

I wish I was rich
Just read about Sarah Rector and would like to know if her family is still benefitting from her "accidental wealth" over 100 years ago.
Why?
@@michelej9496 Because her story is a fascinating piece of history. It would be nice to know if her wealth continues on to this day. I had read that she was lavish in her living, later on, so maybe it was all spent up? Dunno. Just curious.
@@Luposian Eventually the oil went dry in the early 1900s, and her company lost it's most of it's income.
@@akay_2 that's a lie since she became rich after that time
Crazy ..50.. in Dec NEVER heard of her buuuuuuut a gazillion stories of how we were so marginal

Love this story! This is so awesome.
Why is the news anchor yelling?
He's proud.
What happened to all her money? her investments!?
Lost hers like everyone else during the Depression.
This is amazing
Who owns the land now
Reminds me of the Osage Natives and their oil money. Same idea, descendants have nothing.
A lot of cover ups. Some for her protection. But American greed has made her legacy too mysterious. 😢
We are the real indians not slaves
what happened ti her oil and land
Wooow 💪🏽🌎🙏🏾⭐️👸🏽💋❤️🕊
No generational wealth
Cool story. Now do a piece on the first black t.v. news commentator.
As always "Lies" spread faster
1. Generational Wealth?
2.Children?
3. Mineral Rights?
4. Lots of missing pieces. Mire fluff den stuff. Thanks though.
Great HERSTORY
