Steel fixers use steel bars and mesh in reinforced concrete to strengthen buildings and other big structures. They work closely with engineering designers, steel erectors and other construction workers on high rise buildings, on a variety of construction sites or on structures.
Steel bars should be stored in such a way as to avoid distortion and to prevent deterioration and corrosion. Steel bars should not be clean by oily substance to remove the rust. The bar is bent correctly and accurately to the size and shape as shown in drawings.
Steel fixers position and assemble steel bars and mesh sheeting with ligatures to form reinforcement for concrete structures such as concrete slabs, columns, drainage and communication pits, walls and concrete barrier structures. Steel fixing is the mould created to pour concrete.
Formwork for beams takes the form of a three-sided box which is supported and propped in the correct position and to the desired level. The removal time for the formwork will vary with air temperature, humidity and consequent curing rate
