The ticket stub which is in my collection said $5.50, and I have to laugh now, because you can't buy a beer at a concert now for that price, nor would the headliner only play for half an hour.
The “robotic” sound is not auto tune. Jeff Lynne and the ELO experimented with electronic sounds on the synthesizer in the late 70’s and the 80’s as evidenced in this recording and other ELO hits. In this video you can see how the REO Brothers tried to replicate this by rigging the microphone to the keyboard. So even before the advent of computers electronic sound was already present in the music scene.
Roy has put in countless hours of singing with Ralph and Raymart on KUMU. Today, Roy has earned his place in the band with his brothers. Congratulations Roy!

I remember when i was in Manila in 1997 working for my lady boss, i asked her what was her fave band she said: ELO but it was month or so i deciphered what was ELO stand for! REO nailed this one , 99.9 accurate.

This song brings me back to 1980. I was a freshman in engineering. Midnight Blue - one of the songs that i played fm a cassette player while i stayed awake at nights finishing my drawing plates. Very nostalgic, Reo Brothers. But i also run your many videos while at work. They are all refreshing and professionally done thus very pleasing to the ears. Many thanks.
