I respect your opinion, he is a great surfer, but i think Medina is more complete. I think Medina has a better backside and is better in small conditions. In other conditions i think they are similar. How many lefts did you see in the video? Imagine if the CT had more lefts, i think Medina would dominate.
@@somostodos6594 no way near as complete. Mendina is probably a but better at competitive surfing but freesurfing John John much better. He better at Airs, Barrels, carves, turns, big wave surfing. John John also has a much nicer style its much better to watch

zaccyo idk mane Dane R might be the best ever. JJF is better at barrel riding but not by as much as everyone makes him out to be. Kelly is the best barrel rider ever, hands down. I personally think Dane is the best surfer ever but competitive wise I guess JJF beats him at that. All around best ever though is Kelly, nobody will ever come close to accomplishing what he has. But in modern times John is the best competitor for sure but I still think Dane takes the cake for best all around surfer.

Gotta laugh at the comments here. Some very good airs in this video but the turns are all the same. Heavily anchored with an unmoving back leg safety stance. One dimensional & boring. Definitely not anywhere near the "best surfer ever" but brilliant in the tube & brilliant in the air.

gfrancischelli haha there were several lefts in this clip... JJF is also one of the best at Pipe, which is a left in case you forgot. Also, both surfers are good and both have one world title.
gfrancischelli medina is a really solid surfer. But you have to admit john johns style and the strength of his forehand cutbacks although not as incredible on his back hand he still well desrved that title
