My husband is what got me on this channel. I'm trying to figure out what he see's in fantasy football because every Sunday he is in that phone lol! So I wanna learn too!
feel free to hit me up on social media and i will explain it to you my friend. I'm even willing to hit you up on a video chat. it's very simple and i can break it down for you. find me on social media @fantasycouch or on facebook Huseyin Aksu
perfect explanation- i have no interest in playing, but I always hear mentions of fantasty football, so i'm glad to finally understand what it is lol, cheers :)
@@FantasyCouch same here. I want to make money of it . I always get the supper bowl champion . Since 2005 . And sometimes get the right pics . I guess I'm good at math and a football fan
My suggestion is that you just start playing... then everything will make so much sense. Being really good at fantasy football is hard, but playing for the first time and being competitive is real easy. Just draft NFL players on your team, Start and Sit players each week, get fantasy points based on how they perform on the field, and you can add+drop players and trade players if you want... that's it. The concept is simple and I suggest you go do a mock draft or join a free league to try it out.
Fantasy Couch im actually about to do that now! Lol Im in a league at work with a draft scheduled for tmrw at 11am and I havent followed Football since the saints won the superbowl lol
Whew… I’m a first time fantasy football player on a work league, and after watching this, I feel ready! I enlisted some help from son to get me through the draft (smart move by me), but I’m now feeling ready for my first game! Let’s GO!!!!!
As someone who know nothing about fantasy football. This was a very informative, and well made video. Thank you for helping me win my fantasy football league.
Try these NFL videos where I don't even mention fantasy football and talk only about NFL! The real reason the Cleveland Browns suck: ua-cam.com/video/mFbgux3XIRg/v-deo.html The real reason Cam Newton sucks: ua-cam.com/video/L1m1Wy1g0rY/v-deo.html
So many comments, sorry if it's been asked ... BUT two questions: Q1. What happens in the playoffs/finals when your player's teams start dropping out? (i.e. Do only still-active players contribute? or is there a different set of rules for FF? Q2. Does *every* FF season start with a draft from scratch? IF SO, when is it conducted relative to the regular season/what dates are important?
1. The fantasy playoffs start week 14 of the regular season and end week 16 of the regular season. All teams are playing week 16 2. You can draft whenever you want. The best time to draft is late August or early September right before the regular season kicks off... but some of our crazy drafts happen in July. I film all my drafts so you might want to go check them out
Yeah, it's a lot of fun if you love to compete and be in charge of your own team (or your own destiny). Don't hesitate to ask me any questions and sub for more great fantasy football content.
This video was really helpful, I just entered a fantasy football club at my school and I didn't know anything, but after this video, I know much more! (However it was kind of mind-racking and confusing but nice video!)
explaining it is confusing... just how it is... once you start playing... have your draft... play a few weeks... keep watching my videos... you'll get the hang of it
+BryanFuryous Awesome! Great I could help! I'll be having a ton more videos like this (and more advanced ones too) so make sure to subscribe! Thank you!
Awesome! That's the best way my friend, competing with friends and family to see who wins 1st place! 🏈🏆 Good luck this year, and I'm here everyday and do my best to respond to every single comment, so don't be a stranger!
Thanks for this! A friend asked me for help figuring out whether his startup idea in the FF space makes sense and I've read a ton of articles about how this whole thing (and the American football itself!) works. Your video is one of the best explainers for newbies I found :).
For sure! Thanks for watching! Now you can cheer along on Sundays as his team racks up points! Make sure to tell your friends about this video - share it on facebook or wherever - it would be much appreciated! Thank you!
I am extremely impressed you took time to answer all these questions. This means you care about your viewers!!! I have tried a few other experts who don't seem to find time to answer my questions. I got 2nds and a 4th this year. Who knows, I might have won if I listened to you. Maybe we'll try again in 2018.
David Dierlam For sure bud! I’m not like the other guys. We film our draft parties, do things differently and I read every comment & try to answer every single question! It would mean a lot to me if you subscribed! Thank You!
1. You randomize a draft order. Either the computer (website/platform/app) does it for you, or you draw names out of a hat or however. The draft order is set: 1-10, or 1-12 depending on how many people are in your league. 2. 99% of drafts are what they call snake drafts (serpentine drafts). So if you have the 12th pick in a 12-team league, you'll have the 13th pick (the order reverses on the even rounds). If you have the 1st overall pick, you'd have the 24th pick and 25th pick. Let me know if you have any other questions
+Ricardo Gonzalez Thank you. That means a lot to me. Be on the look out for more great videos and I already have other 2015 draft videos up now. Thanks again!
np... appreciate the comment... fantasy football is one of those things that sounds complicated and is difficult to explain, but you get the hang of it once you start playing for 1-2 years... just dive into it! and then once you start playing, go ahead and watch more of my strategy & how-to videos. Here's a link to all of them: ua-cam.com/play/PLsDMMOjTHzBdFGYXgr7t8_Y7-wixephlM.html
Yeah... I'd like to think I do a good job explaining things, but it's so much easier when you just start playing. Most people start learning right away... especially if they have a commissioner and league mates that are willing to answer your questions and show you the ropes... every league is different... different sizes, different rules, different settings, and different culture (leagues that talk trash, leagues that are very competitive, leagues that love/hate to trade, etc)

Fantasy Couch thank you my friend . I'm have to admit I'm a noob cause is my first time that I really search for rules , positions and I have to get used to know more the players cause for being honest I don't know to much of them hahahaha. Anyways I hope it will be a hell of a season and I wish to see the patriots winning ( for some reason I have a big love for Boston , even thou they play 21 miles southwest hahahaha ).
@Zach Bell (your account settings won't allow me to reply). I like Arian Foster much better than those two players--don't do it! Plus, you'd have to drop one player to make room for the two that you are getting.
Do you know if they send packages because they require my ZIP code AKA Postal Code and I lied about my age and said I was like 40 something but I'm really only 12 and I don't want them sending mail or packages or anything of that nature?!??!! Please get back to me!!
i wrote a book and have a course with the same title "How to Play Fantasy Football". you could get the book for $20 signed or kindle for $10 fantasycouch.com/store I assume you already know how to play... I have a dozen more strategy videos on this channel too and those are free of course. I recommend checking them out: ua-cam.com/play/PLsDMMOjTHzBdFGYXgr7t8_Y7-wixephlM.html
In most leagues you only need 1 or 2 QBs. Go to settings to see how many players you need to start at each position. Most leagues start 1 QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1 FLEX (could be WR/RB/TE), 1 TE, 1 defense, 1 kicker... some leagues require one more WR and have no flex.
Heck yeah! More than ever! My new book just hit No.1 bestseller on amazon, we just hit 20k subs on here and I quit my job earlier this year! Life is great and I have to show my appreciation to the couch fam for supporting me!!!
Hey so i was told the wrong time and missed my draft by an hour. which means everything was autopicked for me. After looking at the projections i thought i was going to be fine however with the absurd scoring system ive went 0-2 and need to seriously think about how to recover this lack luster group i have. This is my first league and i have no idea what im doing. From what im told the scoring system set up by my buddy that created this league is completely absurd and I dont know what to think about it either. Nick Foles Ryan Mallett LeSean McCoy T.J. Yeldon Mike Wallace James Jones DeAndre Hopkins Zach Ertz Tre Mason Percy Harvin Jets D/ST Dan Bailey bench Le'Veon Bell Dez Bryant DeSean Jackson C.J. Spiller Martavis Bryant Reggie Bush Jay Cutler Kyle Rudolph Kenny Britt Cowboys D/ST Any help i can get would be marvelous! Thanks!
+WeDemBoyz2015 Is this a money league or a free league? You need an upgrade at the QB position badly. I don't know how any website would autodraft Mallet for you? That's weird because he was just named the starting quarterback less than one week ago. I would try and see if there are any QBs on the waiver wire or trade for one. You may want to drop Dez Bryant from your team if you have to. See if these QBs are available: Tyrod Taylor, Jameis Winston, Marcus Mariota, Carson Palmer.
Fantasy Couch wow that was insanely quick. I figured if I was going to do a fantasy league it would be a free one for my first time. I knew I would have trouble with foles and cutler. So I was looking through the QBs and noticed mallet was available and projected higher then foles so I picked him up. I kept foles starting and sat cutler. Which worked out because cutler got injured. There are only three available starting QBs left and that's Brandon weeden, tyrod taylor, and Johnny manzel.
+WeDemBoyz2015 Drop Dez Bryant and drop Reggie Bush. If you can start 2 QBs, then I would pickup Tyrod Taylor and possible Manziel (if he's named the starter) or Weeden. This league doesn't sound like a fun time lol. Fantasy football has to be done right and it has to be fun... An analogy... Swimming is fun, but if it's the winter time and the pool is extremely dirt; I really wouldn't want to swim lol. I would suggest joining a standard/public league online with strangers, then next year you can put some real dough on the line. it's actually really easy. way easier if you just dive into it. Let me break it down to you: 1. draft players to make your team 2. start players you think will perform better, bench players that suck/are injured 3. when players perform well on Sundays, you get more fantasy points. fantasy points are good
Finally gonna give fantasy football a shot after all these years lol joining a friendly league with some online friends this is the first video I watched and it was excellent awesome crash course quick learning... How far ahead do they announce what players have the same bi-weeks? Can you please do a video that breaks down things like that? What players should be avoided together and how you figure it out?
Bye weeks are announced several months before the season. You can find them here: www.fantasycouch.com/2023/05/2023-nfl-bye-weeks/ These 2 videos are a MUST WATCH before you draft: ua-cam.com/video/ik7cdHBwBNQ/v-deo.html and most importantly: ua-cam.com/video/WXOtk5U9ls0/v-deo.html
This is going to help me tremendously. I'm a noob with no idea what I'm doing and the losing trophy has a big dildo on the top that my brother is displaying at his house. I'm not looking to keep this thing in the family. I just need to come up with and/or copy some sort of safe drafting list so I can scratch guys off as they are taken and move on to the next. Any recommendations there?
rochat Thank you and lol at the loser trophy. Sounds like this is a live, in-person draft... I will be coming out with a Top 200 list of players you can print out and scratch off names as they get selected. I'll also publish my cheat sheet that you can download for free which has every player I'm targeting and the earliest round I'd select them. Both will be available on www.FantasyCouch.com by This Friday, August 21st.
+Fantasy Couch Perfect! I'm going to go off your list this year and maybe do my own thing next year when I have a better handle on what's going on. I can already tell there's a lot to consider when drafting other than just players being good or not. As for our draft, it's a 12 man live draft full of funny guys and shit talkers, it should be fun. Thanks so much. I'll be watching your channel throughout the season.
rochat Thanks for the support, my suggestion is to use those 2 resources, and write down some notes next to players, so you can customize it a bit... This strategy is good for beginners and seasoned vets who want a solid template to start with.
rochat Hey there, I just posted the printable Top 320 players to to bring to your draft! You can get it here: www.fantasycouch.com/2015/08/2015-fantasy-football-top-300-position-rankings/
no. the most scarce position is RB, so that is usually the most valuable position. A backup QB is usually not important at all. you can always find my updated rankings for the year here to help you out: fantasycouch.com/rankings
your team gets fantasy points based on how your players perform on the field throughout the first 16 weeks of the regular NFL season. So if you draft Saquon Barkely and he gets 200 yards and a touchdown the first week, your team will be rewarded 26 fantasy points and you will cheer! Yaaaaaaaaaaaay!
That's what's up! Make sure you watch the other videos in the Fantasy Sports University series: ua-cam.com/play/PLsDMMOjTHzBc8vzODWUV4FVFsju4fz5nm.html
+Brian Thorpe FantasyCouch.com is the best website every, period! Lol... I know, you probably mean where to play on. It's personal preference really, I personally love to play daily leagues on FanDuel here: bit.ly/FANTASYCOUCH But for traditional, season long leagues (this is probably best for first-time beginners), you can play on ESPN. Other sites that are popular are Yahoo, NFL and CBSSports. Let me know if you have any other questions or need help throughout the season.
Great question. The short answer is, I don't know. I've been working in the fantasy football industry since 2008 and they approached me and said that they are very selective and will close their expert invites. Seems like they were trying to build a quality list of experts as opposed to quantity. If you really are dedicated, I would go to my website and see the amount of work I put in and what I've done over the years. Good luck! My website: www.fantasycouch.com/
heyy i have another question..i'm the commish for my league and since everyone is a beginner..were all confused about the IR spot. I understand that if somone is injured or doubtful that week, i could put that player on IR and pick up another player on waivers. And once the player positioned at IR is healthy and good to go, then the player that i picked up as a waiver have to be released as a FA. correct?? but what i'm confused is about drafting. you said that the draft settings that i should use was STARTING ROSTER: 1 QB 2 RB 2 WR 1 TE 1 FLEX (RB/WR/TE) 1 D/ST (team defense/special teams) 1 K 7 Bench spots, and you can also add 2 IR (injured reserve spots) if you like for when players get injured.so when the draft day comes.. How many players am I supposed to select? is it 16 including 7 bench members? or 18 including the IR ????so if i draft 16 players then i would have to be going through 16 rounds right?
OK. IR spots are completely optional. And owners do not need to use them. You only draft 16 players, and initially, there will be nobody to put on IR. If you draft an injured player, you can put him on IR (they have to have an 'O', out designation - you can not put a doubtful player on IR from what I know), then you can pickup 1 more player. During the season if players are hurt, you can add them on IR, freeing up 1 or 2 roster spots. So, people don't abuse the IR spots too much, if a player you put on IR is now healthy, it won't allow you to make any waiver adds until you drop a player. I wouldn't worry about the IR spots at all John. It is not that important, but hopefully, I cleared up some of your questions about it. Most of this stuff you'll figure out and understand better after a few weeks playing. Hope this was helpful. I'm here for any future questions too, no matter how big or small.

+Fantasy Couch came back with more questions!! our league is doing 3division 12team league with 6playoff with each divisional winners with top seed. does this mean that other remaining 3 spots are given to next seedings in each division? so top two teams advance to the next playoff? or is it divisional winners from each division plus the next top three among 9 teams? and also what will the difference be of having 14 15 16 weeks as playoffs and 15 16 17? if we select 14 15 16 then do we have a double header during the reg season? and if we do how does that work??
John Park Honestly, I can't know for sure unless I login but most of your questions can be solved with math and knowing if the top seeded playoff teams have a Bye the first playoff game or not. I know that the winner of each division would get the Bye weeks typically, if you have it setup like that. Sorry, I couldn't answer this question better, but I do recommend you guys do not play Week 17 at all and have the fantasy Super Bowl game end after Week 16 is complete.
To drop a player: click 'My Team' and then click 'Drop Players'... to add a player off waivers/free agency click on 'Players" and click on the + plus sign next to a player to add them on your team. At least that is how ESPN and Yahoo are on my computer. Also, you can just go directly to 'Player' and add a player... it will walk you through the steps and let you know that you have to drop a player and ask you which player you want to drop, in order to make room for the new player you are adding to your roster (you can only have a certain amount of players on your team).
+onegaisti Yes there are apps now that allow you to draft online. A computer is ideal and a tablet is better than a phone because of all the names, stats and owners; but you definitely can do it.
+onegaisti You're welcome! Make sure to subscribe to the UA-cam channel if you haven't already, I'll be coming out with a lot more helpful videos like this in the near future!
Yes, you have to find a solid group of guys that will want to play for several years. It's no fun to play in a dynasty league where 4 people quit every year. The league dies. You need to know people who love fantasy and really want to be in it for the long term. Unfortunately, that's easier said than done. We do have a dynasty league in our facebook group and there are people like that. I suggest you join! facebook.com/groups/fantasycouch/
It really depends on the settings and everything, but typically you want to draft an RB. In normal leagues, I recommend drafting a guy like Christian McCaffrey, Justin Jefferson or Bijan Robinson 1st overall
+Alex R. It's similar to the real NFL draft, if you ever watched that. If an NFL team can get a quarterback in the 5th round, why waste a first round pick on him? Think of putting a price on each draft pick. Your first round draft pick is going to cost you $20 million, while your last round draft pick is going to only cost you $10,000. Going back to my first example with a quarterback... It might be OK to take that quarterback, who is projected to go in the 5th Round, in the 4th Round or maybe even the 3rd, but not OK to take him withe the first overall pick. Your early round picks are far too important to waste on a player you can get in the mid-late rounds.
+Alex R. Now if the player you really want is Adrian Peterson, I have him ranked as the best fantasy football player. So, drafting him in the first round is OK. But for this coming 2015 season, I wouldn't draft Aaron Rodgers until the end of the 2nd Round or early in the 3rd round. I would not draft Aaron Rodgers in the first round in 2015 drafts. Andrew Luck however, I have as a decent 2nd Round pick, and if you drafted him at the end of the 1st Round, that wouldn't be too bad. I hope these examples better explain my point. I believe Drew Brees is a good value pick in the 5th Round, but in our league, Brees was drafted in the 6th round, and that is great value for him! You can watch our 12-man draft and my analysis here: ua-cam.com/video/_p2R53Ob4wM/v-deo.html
hey i have a question about the seedings.. we are playing 12 teams 3 division with 6team playoff with division winners going to playoff. I get that 3 division winnets have the 3 playoff spot out of 6. what about the remaining 3 spots? is it the next 3teams in the overall standing? and in the playoff tie breaker settings we have best regular season record vs opponent. can you explain what this is? im not sure if it means the tiebreaker during the playoff weeks or the tie breaker to get into the playoffs... anyway little confused with the standings.. if the winners of the division gets the 3 top seeds and the next three on the overall standing gets the remaining 3 spots then does that mean there could be three teams heading to playoffs in one division???thanks!!
Every league and site is different but this is how I believe it will work out. The winner of each division will be a Top 3 seed, the team with the best regular season record will get the No. 1 seed. I believe the other 3 seeds (No. 4-6 seeds) will be given to the three remaining teams with the best overall regular season records. A tie breaker when it comes to seeding, will come down to either one of these two main factors: regular season record OR record vs. opponent. In my league, i have it set to record vs. opponent to make it more of a rivalry and close to how the real NFL is. Just to give you a perspective, the real NFL playoff seedings and schedule is actually extreme complicated, especially when a 10-win team can't get in, a 7-9 team gets in, and there are several level of tie breaker factors that go in play when it comes to Bye weeks, home field advantage and seeding.
It depends who is available. But it is OK. I just would never see myself drafting 3 RBs for the first 3 rounds... Ideally you want at least 1 elite WR.
Great video - greetings from Ireland - Just wondering can you set up a 16 person league, with top4 going into playoffs. Want to set one up this year ? - That each manager plays each other once. How many weeks in a season ?
+John Moore How's it going John! I need to come visit Ireland one day! You can setup a league with several different rules and settings. A 12-man league is the standard size, but several people play in a 16-man league. Having 4 make the playoffs is definitely easy to set up as well and both of the settings you want can be done on all the major sites such as ESPN and Yahoo.

Are you required to draft a player from each and every single NFL team because say the Browns are playing the 49ers and I haven't drafted players from either of those teams. Would I not get any points at all? Also is it too late to join a league?
No you don't have to draft players from every team... matter of fact, you can only draft players from only 3 teams or 4 teams. Besides, this is impossible as most leagues only allow you to have up to 16 players at most and there are 32 NFL teams. I would recommend playing for free and you will get the hang of it in no time!
It's actually perfect time to play (maybe even a bit early)! I recommend playing on ESPN or Sleeper app. Do maybe a mock draft or two to get used to it, then do a real league in a week or 2... just google espn mock draft lobby or yahoo mock draft lobby to do a mock draft. A mock draft is essentially a fake draft for practice. Here is more info about mocks if you want: ua-cam.com/video/bZw1iyxcyXU/v-deo.html
@@FantasyCouch awesome! Me and my buddy wanna do a league. I've never done one and idk how experienced he is. I was thinking about making one on espn or yahoo and finding some guys to join it. Would that be too much considering I've never played or is it doable?
@@mangamike6855 that's totally doable actually, and a great way to learn, even though it could be a bit difficult your first year. The hard part is actually finding 10 guys who are able to draft at the same time/day. Good luck tho 👊🏽 you got this
@@FantasyCouch appreciate the help bro! I'm setting one up now and its asking me PPR or standard scoring. I picked standard so hopefully that's the way to go for a noob! Love the video! Subbing
random question, but is there a site where you can play with your friends but for cash and not like the one week thing like fanduel, but regular fantasy football season for cash with your friends?
Yes, of course. All you have to do is agree to a buy-in fee where everyone chips in $10 or $100, or more if you guys have that type of disposal income and agree on the payout system. Typically the fantasy football Super Bowl is held Week 16 of the regular NFL season, so the winner would take the biggest prize, while 2nd place gets less, and 3rd place might win his/her money back or something. Here's our annual draft and we do this: ua-cam.com/video/_p2R53Ob4wM/v-deo.html
Ok how do I know how the player stacks up against his defense position I kinda know but the lower the rank number in the green is that better for your player or better for the opposing defense
yes, that's called matchups... When it says 1st and is in red... that means that that defense is the best defense when it comes to stopping that position.
Hallo, dein Video ist klasse, danke für die verständliche Erklärung. Du wirst sicher viele Fans aus Deutschland bekommen, weil die NFL ab dieser Saison auch in Deutschland im freeTV überragen wird. mach weiter so

+Spoken209 They are very similar. It's more of personal preference, sort of like an iPhone and an Android--they can both do a lot of the same things, but it depends which one you personally prefer.
Question bro I would really appreciate the help. I just created a league and I’m trying to add players, but it doesn’t let me. The “add” players button is greyed out. Do I have to wait like right before the regular season starts?
Did you guys draft yet? You can't add any players until after you guys have your fantasy football draft. What platform are you playing on? Sleeper is THE BEST platform, still time to switch over there. Check your waiver add/drop settings. It's different on every site and there are a ton of sites to play fantasy sports on
@@FantasyCouch , ok thanks bro I was messing around wit it, until I realized I have to do a draft, I set it for tomorrow. And we’re just playing on the NFL football Fantasy app on the phone, we created accounts so I don’t think anyone wants to move to a different site lol. Once I start the draft tho, I can add any players right? I really appreciate the help bro💯
you can add players after the draft, yes. That site sucks really really really bad. I honestly recommend moving over to Sleeper app immediately go.slpr.link/FantasyCouch

dude this is so much more complicated than I thought lol
Fantasy Couch i really appreciate the help!!!
no problem bud. Google 'ESPN mock draft lobby' or 'Yahoo mock draft lobby' whichever site you guys play on in your work league

So many comments, sorry if it's been asked ... BUT two questions:
All teams are playing week 16
2. You can draft whenever you want. The best time to draft is late August or early September right before the regular season kicks off... but some of our crazy drafts happen in July. I film all my drafts so you might want to go check them out
I've been doing fantasy football since I was 9 now 14 I still love it 3 championships
That's what I'm talking about! Let's make it 4 this year! 🏆🏆🏆🏆
Thanks man this helped a lot. I've been watching football all my life but I've never tried fantasy football before this season.

I’m new to this I just learned we’re my family is doing this tonight .I’m learning now.
good luck! You'll do great! Try not to draft quarterbacks too early! same goes for kicker and defense, wait for those two till the very end!!! GL!!!
How does the draft work? Like how is the order that the draft go or do you draft what players you want when you want?
Let me know if you have any other questions

np... appreciate the comment... fantasy football is one of those things that sounds complicated and is difficult to explain, but you get the hang of it once you start playing for 1-2 years... just dive into it! and then once you start playing, go ahead and watch more of my strategy & how-to videos. Here's a link to all of them: ua-cam.com/play/PLsDMMOjTHzBdFGYXgr7t8_Y7-wixephlM.html
This is like explaining tennis 😂 sounds difficult but just play it and you will learn eventually 😂
Yeah... I'd like to think I do a good job explaining things, but it's so much easier when you just start playing. Most people start learning right away... especially if they have a commissioner and league mates that are willing to answer your questions and show you the ropes... every league is different... different sizes, different rules, different settings, and different culture (leagues that talk trash, leagues that are very competitive, leagues that love/hate to trade, etc)
hey! I'm REALLY new to fantasy football, but some friends and co workers got me into it. thanks for the video and the explanation.

Fantasy Couch where can I find how players I should have at each position? I have Matt Ryan and D. Carr. I'm being told I need a 3rd guy?
In most leagues you only need 1 or 2 QBs. Go to settings to see how many players you need to start at each position. Most leagues start 1 QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1 FLEX (could be WR/RB/TE), 1 TE, 1 defense, 1 kicker... some leagues require one more WR and have no flex.
Thank you for this video!! It's helped me a lot. 👍🏼

Let me break it down to you:
1. draft players to make your team
2. start players you think will perform better, bench players that suck/are injured
3. when players perform well on Sundays, you get more fantasy points. fantasy points are good

You're welcome! I did my best to make it relevant even years after it was made! Make sure to watch more videos to help you with fantasy this year!
What positions should I prioritize first? Should I fill every position before I get my backup qb?
no. the most scarce position is RB, so that is usually the most valuable position. A backup QB is usually not important at all. you can always find my updated rankings for the year here to help you out: fantasycouch.com/rankings
I never win the lottery before until I meet hack_smithcloud00 on Instagram that helped me I won 10,000000$ he is genuis and trustworthy 💯.
When are the games played?Like are the games played during the real NFL season or does it auto-schedule?
your team gets fantasy points based on how your players perform on the field throughout the first 16 weeks of the regular NFL season. So if you draft Saquon Barkely and he gets 200 yards and a touchdown the first week, your team will be rewarded 26 fantasy points and you will cheer! Yaaaaaaaaaaaay!
I'm here to relearn the basics

What's the best fantasy football site to use and witch one do u use?
+Brian Thorpe FantasyCouch.com is the best website every, period! Lol... I know, you probably mean where to play on. It's personal preference really, I personally love to play daily leagues on FanDuel here: bit.ly/FANTASYCOUCH
But for traditional, season long leagues (this is probably best for first-time beginners), you can play on ESPN. Other sites that are popular are Yahoo, NFL and CBSSports. Let me know if you have any other questions or need help throughout the season.
Thanks for the advice man
Brian Thorpe You're welcome!
How do you become an approved fantasy expert? Do I have to write a column? How does someone start working his way in that direction?
And once the player positioned at IR is healthy and good to go, then the player that i picked up as a waiver have to be released as a FA. correct?? but what i'm confused is about drafting. you said that the draft settings that i should use was STARTING ROSTER:
1 QB
2 RB
2 WR
1 TE
1 FLEX (RB/WR/TE)
1 D/ST (team defense/special teams)
1 K
7 Bench spots, and you can also add 2 IR (injured reserve spots) if you like for when players get injured.so when the draft day comes..
+Fantasy Couch wow that just made everything clear for us haha thanks so much once again! Is there any other ways to contact you ??
John Park Yes, if it has personal information, I have a contact page which just emails me. I really enjoy interacting with fans on here though as it is a community of fantasy sports fans and Fantasy Couch fans. Feel free to contact me and send me an email. I'll also shoot you my Facebook Group and everything: www.fantasycouch.com/contact/
How do u drop a injured player n pick another one up(sproles) is out for the season
Awesome vid! Quick question. Do they allow you to participate in live drafts from your phone?
+onegaisti Yes there are apps now that allow you to draft online. A computer is ideal and a tablet is better than a phone because of all the names, stats and owners; but you definitely can do it.
Fantasy Couch Awesome, thanks!
+onegaisti You're welcome! Make sure to subscribe to the UA-cam channel if you haven't already, I'll be coming out with a lot more helpful videos like this in the near future!
Fantasy Couch You got it.
Do you have any tips about getting into a Dynasty League and how to do it?
Yes, you have to find a solid group of guys that will want to play for several years. It's no fun to play in a dynasty league where 4 people quit every year. The league dies. You need to know people who love fantasy and really want to be in it for the long term. Unfortunately, that's easier said than done. We do have a dynasty league in our facebook group and there are people like that. I suggest you join! facebook.com/groups/fantasycouch/
Fantasy Couch thanks for the info! Love the channel and videos a lot, and will def look into the group!
Which position should you draft if you have the 1st overall pick?
It really depends on the settings and everything, but typically you want to draft an RB. In normal leagues, I recommend drafting a guy like Christian McCaffrey, Justin Jefferson or Bijan Robinson 1st overall
I don't understand ADP and picking for value. Why can't I just pick the player I want as my first round pick?
What are your thoughts on drafting 2 WRs out the gate rather than 2 RBs? High risk/high reward?
It depends who is available. But it is OK. I just would never see myself drafting 3 RBs for the first 3 rounds... Ideally you want at least 1 elite WR.
I loved your intro 😂
it used to be good. now it's a bit played-out and cringey. funny tho lol

+Fantasy Couch - Thanks for the advice - Come to Ireland, we will watch our GAA football / Hurling - you would enjoy the game. Will buy you a pint of Guinness - lol
John Moore I do enjoy Guinness. Thank you! And good luck this year in fantasy football!
LOL. I'm here just for the laughs. I got what I needed. Cheers
Is it too late to start a league? What is a good free league you would recommend of it's not too late? I've never played before
It's actually perfect time to play (maybe even a bit early)!
Subbing
@@mangamike6855 Thanks! I prefer PPR, but it's not a big difference. You can usually change it later under scoring settings
random question, but is there a site where you can play with your friends but for cash and not like the one week thing like fanduel, but regular fantasy football season for cash with your friends?
Yes, of course. All you have to do is agree to a buy-in fee where everyone chips in $10 or $100, or more if you guys have that type of disposal income and agree on the payout system. Typically the fantasy football Super Bowl is held Week 16 of the regular NFL season, so the winner would take the biggest prize, while 2nd place gets less, and 3rd place might win his/her money back or something. Here's our annual draft and we do this: ua-cam.com/video/_p2R53Ob4wM/v-deo.html
hey bro I picked up Hightower n i saw they released him can I drop him n pick someone else
Yes, you can pickup Matt Breida (SF RB)
Ok how do I know how the player stacks up against his defense position I kinda know but the lower the rank number in the green is that better for your player or better for the opposing defense
yes, that's called matchups... When it says 1st and is in red... that means that that defense is the best defense when it comes to stopping that position.
Right on man. Thanks!
yw
🏈 Thanks Bro! 👍

Hallo, dein Video ist klasse, danke für die verständliche Erklärung. Du wirst sicher viele Fans aus Deutschland bekommen, weil die NFL ab dieser Saison auch in Deutschland im freeTV überragen wird.
mach weiter so
+nichtnichtalex Thank you / Danke

I thought for sure that thing under the "R" right next to your (right from camera) ear was an earring. LOL
(At the beginning parts of the video, before anyone asks)
This was very helpful and very well explained thank you
Really appreciate the comment my friend! Glad you found it helpful! Make sure to subscribe to this channel for more amazing fantasy football content. Also, I read all the youtube comments here if you have any questions or want a 2nd opinion about something!
@@FantasyCouch I subscribed already
is the Espn fantasy football the same as the nfl fantasy football on the play store?
+Spoken209 They are very similar. It's more of personal preference, sort of like an iPhone and an Android--they can both do a lot of the same things, but it depends which one you personally prefer.
Also, great video. Thank you
np! Good luck this year!
@@FantasyCouch I probably should bro, but I did all the effort of inviting people on this 1, I don’t think their gonna wanna create another 1 again lol. I really appreciate u tho man
yup i get it. people are tough to work with. Hey I'm here all season, just drop a comment on my newest video if any questions come up! Wishing your league and you much success this fantasy season!
