When not betting on the game as a player and then Manager where he controlled the outcomes of many games.! I've lived in Cincinnati my entire life and he broke the biggest rule in all of Baseball, you don't bet on the game and he did it over and over again, game after game, and while a Manager, he allowed thugs, drug dealers to hang out in his office, after games when players or Coaches went to his office to discuss some baseball, they would not even go in when they got there and him and his gang of thugs where all in there talking gambling, selling steroids, because 2 of those thugs 2 of his best buddies were eventually busted for selling steroids big time. He altered the outcomes of many games as a manager because he bet on them and still lost, what an idiot. He sold a fortune of his memorabilia to a Las Vegas Dealer that had a store there, within less than a month I believe, that man's store was robbed, he had a fortune in sports items there, but, the only things Stolen were all his recent purchases of Rose's stuff, to this day, not 1 single piece of that stolen baseball merchandise has ever turned up to be sold anywhere, so whomever it was that stole it, has kept it all these years in their own private Collection, 1 GUESS WHO IT WAS!, many visitors to Pete's home that got to visit his prized baseball vault of all his items, said ti was all there. No one else would have left all that other expensive baseball stuff once they broke in. He is a gangster a gambler and a jackazz, never nice to fans unless the Camera was on him. and to this day lives in Vegas still gambling, LOL!, keep the POS out, he broke the rule, SHOELESS JOE is still out and he did next to nothing compared to this POS< Johnny Bench one of the nicest players and guys ever and best Catcher, respected his ball play, but personally never liked the jackazz.
,, i grew up watching spring training 1970's MLB ⚾ Cleveland Indians @t Hi Corbett field (Tucson, Arizona). When Cincinnati Reds came to play, i was there in attendances watching Pete Rose. He's still "Charlie Hustle" in my book..
As a kid, watching the Cubs play the Reds on Channel 9 on hot summer afternoons, I hated Pete Rose. Always getting on base, turning singles into doubles, making great plays on defense, diving into second base head first, that awful haircut. A few years ago a young guy asked me who was the best player when I was growing up. I said, "Rose...Pete Rose."
I grew up going to Wrigley field only to see Pete rose play. I would wait for the reds to get in their bus hoping pete would sign an autograph for me, he never did. I remember sometimes he wouldn't get on the bus and walk toward Clark st. He was intimidating even off the field.
And we never called it, “sliding in head first”. It was always,”goin’ Pete Rose”. We got more burns on our chins and chest trying to duplicate the “Charlie Hustle”. That’s from sliding into a base and diving for a baseball that probably would be missed if not for the spectacular effort when I played Little League and Babe Ruth.
No one, and I mean no one deserves to be in the HOF more than Pete Rose! Those responsible for keeping him out are criminals. One of my favorite Pete Rose play showed why he is Mr. Hustle. He followed a teammate into foul territory, and when the teammate bobbled the ball, Pete was able to grab it!
I got to meet and speak with Pete in 74 at River Front, went to locker room and he let me sit in his gold corvette. Super nice guy. Spoke to me like an good friend. Rose, Lee May, Ted Helm, Peter Otoole Johnny Bench made ip the best team of all time. Stands were full. Now not so much. It was a great time to be alive and be a baseball fan. Thank you Cincy Reds
Being a native of Cincinnati, what an absolute privilege it was to see this man play the game that he'll forever be synonymous with. He's the best player I've witnessed play MLB...
I was born in 1962. Played Little League ball in the early 70's. Lived in LA and Phoenix, so decidedly a Dodgers fan, not a Reds fan. But I told everybody that would listen that Pete's my uncle. Always a Pete Rose fan and tried to play as hard as he did. Love Pete Rose.
In 1985 I used to go to see the Reds spring training @ Redsland Tampa. Pete would stay and sign every autograph. That was the year he was chasing the record and it was packed with fans..Pete signed every autograph for the fans. Class act!
Wow, you just took me back to my childhood. Watching Reds games at Al Lopez Field in Tampa in the 60s and 70s. Us kids would lay on top of the dugout and talk with players when they were in the on deck circle. Pete was one of them. He never ignored the kids, laughed and joked with them and yes, always signed autographs. Pete understood that kids looked up to him, and that the way he played the game modeled committment, determination and always giving your best. My Dad always taught me those things and told me to watch Pete Rose. How badly we need more of this today.
I don't believe his hit record will ever be broken because players just don't play 20+ seasons the way Pete did, he was pretty much reaching "old man" status by the time he finally retired and was still hitting decent which shows how much talent he had. I've collected a lot of Pete Rose memorabilia over the years being a Reds fan
Dick Butkus. Wilt Chamberlin. Wayne Gretzkey. Ric Flair. Pete is one of those names. Him not in the Hall of fame gets him more attention than if he was. And one day, maybe 50, 100 years from now. He will get his place in Cooperstown. I remember watching a doubleheader when he was player and Manager. first game he goes 0-4. Crowd is booing, giving the man some shit. Game 2? He shut em up going 4-4. He was that good, that kinda player. What an honor it was to watch him play in my lifetime.
You should have mentioned winning the World Series with Philadelphia in 1980 after playing in all 162 games, and going back to the WS in 1983, batting .375 in the NLCS and .313 in the WS won by Baltimore in five games. Philly players have mentioned that Rose brought a winning attitude to the team.
His foul ball catch after it popped out of Bob Boone's glove in foul territory to record the 2nd out in the 9th inning of Game 6 was a classic. Tug McGraw got the final strikeout to win the World Series in 1980!!!
The most memorable Rose moment, if you watched his career, definitely was the All-Star game where he dove through Ray Fosse. Fosse was never the same and had to retire a couple years later..
Ryan Ortega , I still have all of his baseball cards from growing up watching him play, I’m 51 years old now and still cherish them like when I was a kid.
@@mark109s me too...it brings back memories...I'm in my late 50's and was fortunate to see him play live...man, he was great and will ALWAYS be remembered as a great baseball player.. as for his ban, I think baseball should reconsider this foolish pounding on this man after 30 years and allow him to be on the ballot... instead of the steroid bunch
I used to like it when he took a pitch , he followed it into the catchers glove every time , He would also run to first base when drawing a walk ,,, every time , some of these guys today look like they would call a cab if they could ,, he belongs in the hall , some athletes are placed on a pedestal for similar conduct , not to mention the drug use .Does the game of baseball really have that much integrity to judge him , I think not
@eugene endres , what’s your point , you’re not being charged to read it , just an FYI , I too am a Western Hills high school grad , 1974 . And happen to be quite proud to have went there , asshole
I was so damn fortunate to be growing up and watching the Big Red Machine.. Rose,Bench,Morgan,Concepcion,Foster,Griffey Sr,Gullet,Tolan,to mention a few..WTF is the hall of fame without baseball’s all time hits leader.. wake up before it’s too late ! Let Pete in!
As a kid from Philadelphia, I'll always remember Pete's contributions to the Phillies World Series Championship team in 1980 and NL Championship team in 1983. He was every kids' favorite first baseman and responsible for way too many (unnecessary) head-first slides in little league.
@Joseph Van Horn Ted Williams, babe ruth, Joe dimaggio, willy mays, Barry bonds, pete rose ,Johnnie bench, cal ripken, ken griffey jr, rod carew, trout, George Brett, Mike Schmitt
@Joseph Van Horn yes baseball is a #s game but still near impossible to say who greatest player is. We are obviously not including pitcher's and the game has changed as well. I just leave you with this!!! Barry bonds is the only player walked with bases loaded and more than once lol
@Joseph Van Horn good stuff joe..im 54 how old are you? I think all records need to be judge by ( at bats) then from there #s the overall #s are not the true sign of greatness when comparing players hank Aaron and Ruth are perfect example. Aaron had thousands of more at bats that Ruth. I think in Ruth's era they threw slower , and had less pitchers they faced same guys..i don't believe many of them would be dominant today. Im going to give you my top players.
I heard him say in an interview on FOX Business that he is OK not being in the MLB HOF because he is in the Reds HOF. That's his home town & his home town team, so he's good with that. I think he means it, but deep inside I know he wants the MLB HOF.
That is 100% true. But it is NOT "casting stones" to say that Pete Rose disgraced himself for the heinous thing he did. Thus he should never be in the hall of fame. In other words when Jesus said that, it did not mean that we can not tell the truth. But of course, we MUST always look in the mirror first. Praise Jesus Holy Name.
@@MrPatdeeee Jesus told the adulterers to go and sin no more. So he did not deny the truth and at the same time she was forgiven and redeemed. THIS is the heart of the gospel.
@Paul Kryder Maybe, but those accomplishments was when Pete was a player not as a coach . I dont think gambling is what entirely keeping Pete out of HOF. I think its more that the baseball commissioner died not long after baseball found out Pete was betting.
You can’t gamble on the game you play in, no more than a jockey cam gamble on the race he’s racing in - that door can never be opened, and I loved Pete.
I rather Pete get in, then Bonds or Clemens. Pete was a great hitter and played way harder than Bonds. Barry was the better hitter, but Pete was the better all around player. People forget he played over 500 games at five different positions and was also one of the spark plugs of the Big Red machine. Morgan and Bench were likely way more talented, but I think Pete was the heart and soul of those teams.
Nightmare Batman Cobb was not such bad guy at all. He was defamed by a hack who wrote a lousy book about him, full of lies. He was not a racist and he never sharpened his spikes. He got a bad rap.
Cobb was ask later in life what he could hit against pitchers like Bob Feller, Sandy Koufax, and others, Cobb said 300, the interviewer said, ONLY 300, and Cobb said, hell, I’m 70 years old.
Being a piece of sh@t doesn't effect the integrity of the game, gambling on baseball when you can effect the outcome does, and anyone who says 'he only bet on his team to win', not betting on days he thought they'd lose is probably even worse. His bookies and by extension other connected gamblers would use his betting pattern to place their own bets, granted that in neither case would there be a guarantee of winning any bet, but the odds in the bets favor would be greatly increased from inside knowledge and manipulation of who is pitching and batting.
Totally blew off the 1980 World Series ! First World Series the Phillies ever won and Pete was the missing piece to put them over the top . He was one of two players on that team to have won a world series with two different teams - Tug McGraw being the other.
70 years old Pete Rose one of the greats might have bet on baseball but he never took steroids loved the game great personality he always hustled I'm glad I have the memory of Pete Rose
Class act who played harder and loved the game more than many could understand...he still refuses to bad mouth baseball after they keep him out while putting juiced guys in. I will always tell my son to look up to Pete and to play the game like him
The guy belongs in the HoF. He never bet AGAINST his team (as far as we know) and never intentionally blew a game. He gave every at bat 110%. What he did off the field should not overrule his accomplishments on the field.
Committed the sport's cardinal sin, as a manager; worse than as a player because he's in a supervisor role. As a manager, you have access to inside info among games. Added to it by lying to five commissioners. And still makes excuses, instead of coming clean on his addiction.....!
@suny123boy1 I say come clean on his addiction, first. Then recognize he wrong, and needs help. Seeks help, with MLB then putting its full resources behind his recovery (because it is in Baseball's best interest to get Pete the help!). Once he does that, then Pete should be considered! But Pete too hard-headed to come clean, with an enabling fan base behind him.....!
@suny123boy1 He came clean to sell his book! Anything Rose does positive, there's a self-motivation behind it! That's what addicts do! Pete, right now, is only looking out for Pete, and, at this point, does not have the best interests of the game at heart!
My '80 Phillies would never have been WS Champions without Pete, and his catch of the foul ball off Boonie's glove in game 6 is arguably the most important play in Phillies history. RIP #14!
I agree but Bart Giamatti banned him for life before he croaked. I am a dodgers fan but Pete Rose deserves the hall of fame he has the numbers n to top it off he's the hit king too.
@Don P I only had time to scroll through the list of current players who are ahead of Rose in OPS - I chose 20 out of 59 although I may have been a tad generous on a few. I know for certain that if I go through the entire list I am not selecting 33% of the players on it ahead of Rose. Rose should have called it quits after '85 - he had a .395 OBP that year. So, one year overstayed ('86). To suggest that he was a compiler is inaccurate.
@Don P Tony Gwynn was the best hitter I ever saw. I only saw Rose at the tail end of his career. That said, his numbers are undeniable. You can have Carew and Boggs--C. Hustle has a .321 BA in 67 postseason games. Let's also not overlook the fact that Rose led the NL in doubles five times, while Carew/Gwynn never led once and Boggs only twice, so I'd be careful to label Pete, exclusively, a singles hitter. I understand that Rose played the bulk of his career on turf, however, it should be noted that Pete still managed to leg out 35-40 doubles a year at old Crosley Field.
I was born in 68 in the Oakland CA area. I missed out on the A's championships because I was a little too young and my father was from Chicago and my mother San Francisco so they had little interest in what would be our home team the A's. When I really could comprehend baseball, probably 74-75, I jumped on the Big Red Machine bandwagon. On my wall were two badazz posters of Johnny Bench and Pete Rose and I'm a kid on the WEST COAST. Pete Rose had the most hits in baseball history. Pete Rose is a top 10 arguably top 5 player in baseball history....HE HAS THE MOST HITS C'MON!!! and PLAYED A BRAND OF BALL NEVER SEEN BEFORE OR SINCE. He should be in the HALL OF FAME. Hell he only bet on his team to win which is what you do when you take a coaching job. They should do it now before the commies ruin everything anyway. God Bless Your Soul Pete Rose, Charlie Hustle. Thanks for making baseball great in our lifetime.
RIP Pete, no 1980 World Championship with out you. ALL Philadelphia will love you for this forever. None of us care about the other bullsh*t! His championships and play should be spoken of BEFORE the other crap!!!!
EXACTLY!!! I could not agree more! My 10 year old niece who loves to play baseball (but is compelled to play softball just because she’s a girl...I call b.s. on that, btw), plays multiple positions, can catch (in fact plays catcher more than most positions because she’s unusually good at it for a kid her age), steals bases like crazy, is super fast & is the 1st one drafted on to teams (they start drafting kids on to after school teams once they’re in 4th grade, instead of just putting all the kids from the same school together) AND she’s got NO idea who Charlie Hustle is! (It sounds like I’m a biased/bragging aunt, but I’m a real straight shooter - I’d say if she were lousy...or say nothing at all if baseball wasn’t her strong suit!) It’s wrong on SO many levels that they don’t hold him up as an example to young kids as a the truly talented, hard working, accomplished baseball player that he was! Believe me, my niece will be seeing this video of Pete Rose (among others).
I met Pete Rose at a autograph session when I was 13 he was a nice humble old man signed a baseball with his signature and 4256 he also taught me how to shake hands and I told him "You belong in the hall of fame!" And he said to me "You're a good kid Manny Kirkhart!" He even told my dad "You sir have a good kid!" Pete if you are seeing this I just want to say thank you for making my dream of meeting you come true! Rest in Peace to His Majesty the Hit King and I pray you Enjoy your Own Again 🙏🙏⚾⚾
Arguably the best all around player of all time. Gambling may have tarnished His image but not his achievements. Everyone knows this guy belongs in the Hall of Fame
If the HOF is supposed to recognize the on-field accomplishments of those who excelled at the game of baseball, then Pete Rose belongs in the HOF. If the only people allowed in the HOF are to be those who have led perfect lives then MLB should quit this unrealistic standard and kick out a good many of those who didn’t live up
Pete Rose didn’t commit a crime against society, he didn’t try to gain an advantage over others by using PED’s, he wasn’t a wife beater or engage in any other despicable conduct, he wasn’t a racist. He bet on his team to win. Was it a stupid decision to do that? YES! He has admitted that! YES! Does he regret having done it? YES, he has said so! Considering how MLB has fully embraced gambling by accepting sponsorship money from gaming establishments on-line and at sports books anywhere were it’s legally allowed, maybe MLB should return all of the sponsorship money it has taken in and refuse any more of the ‘dirty and corrupting’ cash that it thinks compromises the integrity of the game! If MLB can’t bare to do that, the lift the ban on Rose at put him where he belongs, in the HOF!
Forget the records and milestones, Pete's greatest accomplishment is being the only no-tool player to make the majors. I think a copy of his scouting report is available somewhere. "Can't run, hit, throw or field. All Rose can do is hustle."
They need to put him in the HOF!!! One of the greatest players to ever play the game, if not the greatest player. MLB needs to suck it up and put this man in the HOF next July. PERIOD! We need to put serious pressure on MLB if they do not!
He was a throwback era player, typical of the 1920s 1930s and 1940s....even the off the diamond personal decisions. Hometown guy, you could not deny he gave it his all. An American success story.
Mr HardBall! Paid his dues and is still paying. The HOF is not breaking this man...Pete Rose is built to last. Born to play and win...Rose is the HOF record setter.
How bout the times , he would hit into a easy out and end up safe on first , because he ran hard all the time and a little bobble could land him safe on first . The times when a teamate would have a ball bounce out of their glove and Pete would be there to assist before the ball landed on the ground .
It seems it HIGH Time Pete gets recognized for all his Baseball Accomplishments. Doesn't every one gamble on games these days or tack enhancing drugs. There will never be another player like him. Bring on the BHOF !!!
@Habitual line stepper i agree. Its just a shame that his career ended the way it did. If he truly followed his lawyers like he said, i wonder why he hasnt sued them for malpractice? Although i will say, The Commissioner probably screwed him big time. LET PETE IN. LET PETE IN LET PETE IN.
It’s a disgrace that this man is not in the Hall of Fame, it doesn’t matter what he did… It doesn’t change the fact that he was such a great player he certainly deserves to be first ballot Hall of Famer

Pete Rose the GOAT in baseball! Nough said!
Agreed.
,, i grew up watching spring training 1970's MLB ⚾ Cleveland Indians @t Hi Corbett field (Tucson, Arizona).
Thanx for the honesty, I can see why an opposing fan would dislike him.... he was the best !
^^^ a haircut called “full retard” ^^^
you speak the truth
No one, and I mean no one deserves to be in the HOF more than Pete Rose! Those responsible for keeping him out are criminals. One of my favorite Pete Rose play showed why he is Mr. Hustle. He followed a teammate into foul territory, and when the teammate bobbled the ball, Pete was able to grab it!
Even though he’s not in the HOF...nobody in their right mind doubts he was that good!
Exactly, he should not be in HOF but what a great athelete.
yeah that and his dirty play of running over Fosse in an all star game and ruined his career, jackazz.
@Rspenesmit even Fosse said Pete should have ran him over. People paid to see that game and there needed to be a winner
Lol
I was born in 1962. Played Little League ball in the early 70's. Lived in LA and Phoenix, so decidedly a Dodgers fan, not a Reds fan. But I told everybody that would listen that Pete's my uncle. Always a Pete Rose fan and tried to play as hard as he did. Love Pete Rose.
Rest easy in Paradise Pete! You will always be a Hall Of Famer in my book!
I bought a bat from the ballpark last night
Dick Butkus. Wilt Chamberlin. Wayne Gretzkey. Ric Flair. Pete is one of those names. Him not in the Hall of fame gets him more attention than if he was. And one day, maybe 50, 100 years from now. He will get his place in Cooperstown. I remember watching a doubleheader when he was player and Manager. first game he goes 0-4. Crowd is booing, giving the man some shit. Game 2? He shut em up going 4-4. He was that good, that kinda player. What an honor it was to watch him play in my lifetime.
HOF, my man needs to be enshrined in forever... unbelievable career
Led the Phillies to their first World Series...#1 with me!
yes, indeed. and he did it with talent AND hustle
but he's a cincinnati red at heart HA
Correct. I was at all the ws games.
His foul ball catch after it popped out of Bob Boone's glove in foul territory to record the 2nd out in the 9th inning of Game 6 was a classic. Tug McGraw got the final strikeout to win the World Series in 1980!!!
Sat down for a half hour alone with Pete and just talked baseball...It was awesome!
He was the greatest player I've ever seen, including players of today in 2022.. He just wanted to win. He is a Hall of Famer in my book.
Let’s attach that petition to demand that Pete rose gets his place in the HOF. The sentence is served. He deserves it now.
The most memorable Rose moment, if you watched his career, definitely was the All-Star game where he dove through Ray Fosse. Fosse was never the same and had to retire a couple years later..
RIP Pete. You are never to be forgotten and will continue to inspire many others to HUSTLE! God Bless you Mr. Rose.
Pete Rose is awesome. I had his card when I was in 2nd grade. It was in mint condition!
My Dad graduated from Western Hills High School, with Pete Rose. Met him many times.
The MAN of Baseball ⚾️ he belongs in the hall of fame God Bless you Pet Rose. God Bless.
Pete Rose needs to be in the Hall of Fame, he deserves it as a player.
I used to like it when he took a pitch , he followed it into the catchers glove every time , He would also run to first base when drawing a walk ,,, every time , some of these guys today look like they would call a cab if they could ,, he belongs in the hall , some athletes are placed on a pedestal for similar conduct , not to mention the drug use .Does the game of baseball really have that much integrity to judge him , I think not
Just a brief comment will do. We don't have to write letters here.
eugene endres relax Eugene
@@eugeneendres5846 Hey Eugene pack sand !
@@eugeneendres5846 shut up nerd
@eugene endres , what’s your point , you’re not being charged to read it , just an FYI , I too am a Western Hills high school grad , 1974 . And happen to be quite proud to have went there , asshole
As far as I'm concerned the baseball hall of fame does not exist without Pete Rose.
Crazy numbers, accomplishments. Best player in my lifetime.
Imagine what kind of contract Pete Rose would get in today's MLB !
There isn't one player today that plays with his desire and hustle.
I was there with you..great times
Great calculation of a history of quite possibly the greatest player ever to play the game.
I know how great he was...
HOF aint good enough for him. “Charlie Hustle” forever...
As a kid from Philadelphia, I'll always remember Pete's contributions to the Phillies World Series Championship team in 1980 and NL Championship team in 1983. He was every kids' favorite first baseman and responsible for way too many (unnecessary) head-first slides in little league.
Best all around baseball player I've seen in my lifetime.
Never saw Willie Mays, eh?
@@pigdeal31 I saw mays , but I never saw Ted Williams!!
You can never take away what Pete accomplished. The man was an outstanding player
Never took roids! But still no induction! That's BS
If anything Pete Rose deserves to be in the hall of Fame for his batting and playing along with what he did on the field
Hello: He did the work. He has the records and you can not change that. We the People know he was the best. He knows also. That's all that counts.
I heard him say in an interview on FOX Business that he is OK not being in the MLB HOF because he is in the Reds HOF. That's his home town & his home town team, so he's good with that. I think he means it, but deep inside I know he wants the MLB HOF.
Hank Aaron was pretty good, too.
@@Bill_8864 he’s okay with it cuz he AGREED to it! It wasn’t a punishment it was his settlement to stop an investigation that had just started
I LOVE PETE ROSE! He's flipping brilliant and should be in the hall of fame darn it!!!
One of the best ever.
Half of these would get someone into the Hall of Fame! Put him in there!!! ⚾️⚾️⚾️
Let ye who is without sin cast the first stone.
I watched him when he was with the Reds and the Phillies. He played the game for real and it showed. He deserves to be the Hall of Fame; no question.
4256 reasons he needs to be in the HOF
LOL!
Pete rose hit record seem unbreakable as ty cobb hit record used to be invincible
Was great to see him play while he was in philly. Drove there many times to see the phils.
You can do steroids but don't gamble.Smfh..LET PETE IN THE HOF!
@Don P Barry will eventually get in though
@Paul Kryder Maybe, but those accomplishments was when Pete was a player not as a coach . I dont think gambling is what entirely keeping Pete out of HOF. I think its more that the baseball commissioner died not long after baseball found out Pete was betting.
You can’t gamble on the game you play in, no more than a jockey cam gamble on the race he’s racing in - that door can never be opened, and I loved Pete.
EXACTLY!!!
GOAT 🐐as a young person who never seen him play I still know he belongs in the HOF
He should be in. Cobb like a lot from that generation weren’t exactly all “good guys” themselves. Not a hall without Pete
Nightmare Batman Cobb was not such bad guy at all. He was defamed by a hack who wrote a lousy book about him, full of lies. He was not a racist and he never sharpened his spikes. He got a bad rap.
Steven Yourke listen man he raped my pet cat
Cobb was ask later in life what he could hit against pitchers like Bob Feller, Sandy Koufax, and others, Cobb said 300, the interviewer said, ONLY 300, and Cobb said, hell, I’m 70 years old.
@@johnheinrich1718 LOLOLOL!
R.I.P LEGEND
70 years old Pete Rose one of the greats might have bet on baseball but he never took steroids loved the game great personality he always hustled I'm glad I have the memory of Pete Rose
He is a hall of famer in my book.
Class act who played harder and loved the game more than many could understand...he still refuses to bad mouth baseball after they keep him out while putting juiced guys in. I will always tell my son to look up to Pete and to play the game like him
My Dad told me the same thing. Watch Pete Rose and learn how to be a winner in life.
The guy belongs in the HoF. He never bet AGAINST his team (as far as we know) and never intentionally blew a game. He gave every at bat 110%. What he did off the field should not overrule his accomplishments on the field.
JabberCT agreed! There's no excuse for the MLB's decades long spiteful retribution.
Committed the sport's cardinal sin, as a manager; worse than as a player because he's in a supervisor role. As a manager, you have access to inside info among games. Added to it by lying to five commissioners. And still makes excuses, instead of coming clean on his addiction.....!
@@thescatman5029 Bullshit Pete deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. But, haters gonna hate.
RIP #14!
Put this man in the hall, dammit!
Jokester W Rose NEVER bet that his team would lose. Look it up!
Milwee middle learn baseball dude is the GOAT
I agree but Bart Giamatti banned him for life before he croaked. I am a dodgers fan but Pete Rose deserves the hall of fame he has the numbers n to top it off he's the hit king too.

Wow what a great legacy seen some of these moments going to Cincinnati in the 70s. Great Memories
Put him in the Hall of Fame already.........Charlie Hustle with 4,256 hits.......Best Hitter in the Game Ever
mike Patterson and NEVER took a PED!
@Don P OPS 👎
@Don P You're the GM of an expansion team. Ask yourself how many of those 585 players you are selecting before Pete Rose.
I’m a Royals fan and would love to see him in the HOF
RIP Pete, no 1980 World Championship with out you. ALL Philadelphia will love you for this forever. None of us care about the other bullsh*t!
His championships and play should be spoken of BEFORE the other crap!!!!
Pete Rose vids should be shown to all little leaguers how to play the game!
TRUTH!!!!
#1 reason he should be inducted. Period.☝️☝️☝️
I met Pete Rose at a autograph session when I was 13 he was a nice humble old man signed a baseball with his signature and 4256 he also taught me how to shake hands and I told him "You belong in the hall of fame!" And he said to me "You're a good kid Manny Kirkhart!" He even told my dad "You sir have a good kid!"

What the Astros did was far worse.
@@englandbengal WAYYYY WORSE!
They’ve let Barry “steroid” Bonds have a shot at the HoF they should do the same for Pete.
I have my own HOF, Rose is in it. So is Joe Jackson. Sammy Sosa works as the urinal custodian in my HOF. Barry Bonds is the urinal.
Put him in the hall of fame. The man deserves that respect.
They need to put him in the HOF!!! One of the greatest players to ever play the game, if not the greatest player. MLB needs to suck it up and put this man in the HOF next July. PERIOD! We need to put serious pressure on MLB if they do not!
Top 3 best of all time, #14 should be in the hall !!!
Miss you Rose! RIP!
MLB please put Pete in the Hall of Fame!
The King in my book
He played in his own hometown. What a bonus.
How bout the times , he would hit into a easy out and end up safe on first , because he ran hard all the time and a little bobble could land him safe on first . The times when a teamate would have a ball bounce out of their glove and Pete would be there to assist before the ball landed on the ground .
