- Hi guys,
This is a simple and inexpensive makeover for this old floor lamp. This DIY gave this lamp a glam look and made it look more expensive, great way to enhance your home decor/ living room decor or bedroom.
This lamp looks way much better with cheap material that you can easily get. I mainly used Christmas ornaments and foam to achieve this look.

I made one for someone else and used crushed glass on the lampshade, another, I used very large gems on the shades with sequin balls

Lovely. Mods. Fabric petals, moulded to shape on a ball with a stiffener product like gelatin. Or wired. I made self dry clay hollow balls and finished them with textures/paint. Between balls I used small curtain rings so the ball sat in them well. I have made many huge and small flowers using fabric. Regular dusting ensures they stay looking great, foam discolours with time. Spray sealant can also aid fabric longevity. ♥️

Beautiful end result. Next time you can leave the petals just the way the heat gun shaped them. It gives it a more natural look

I want to make all my standing lamps like this ! You did a beautiful job!!! It’s crazy to me that companies that sell these things don’t even think about how beautiful that they really could be. But if they did sell something like this... they would charge way way too much money for it ...so I’m so glad that now I have an idea of what I wanna do. Many years ago I’ll put string lights around one of my standing lamps and it was pretty but I didn’t do a very good job because I was just starting out doing crafting and I had no idea about what I really wanted or how I would go about what I really wanted to do and create. I’m so glad I found you!!! you are such an inspiration one of my favorite DIY ladies now 😃 thank you thank you thank you! A couple months ago I drove by a house that had a few pieces of nice furniture on the curb in which one of them was a lamp similar to this one. I said now I know I could use it for "something". I love it.
Modified: don't use hot glue gun on shade. This shade gets very hot when it's left on and most people will leave their lamps on for a long period of time we all know those lamps you must use a very low wattage bulb in them if you're going to do this project.
( Typical people will use high voltage bulbs)
So if the bulb is too hot it will heat up the plastic globe therefore heating the glue back up making your leaves fall off eventually so this works well if there's a low voltage bulb being used.
