Scalpers punching the air right now
Definitely some dude out there crying who has amassed hundreds of Rex’s
I think I'll buy one (and open and build it like a normal person) just to spite the scalpers.
@@Ky-xm7tc Haha, sucks to them!
I just saw someone post the figure on FB marketplace 3 days ago asking $100 and I so badly want to make a $10 offer on it and send a screenshot of this box art
Good.

If you bought a $650 set for the mini figure and not the model itself, that’s on you. On top of that, the LEGO scalper and investment market has started to ruin the hobby, especially with Star Wars. I applaud the LEGO group for taking a very, very beloved character and putting him in the most accessible set possible for all fans. Any kid can now grab Rex for some allowance money and I plan on getting a couple to have Rex in my displays
You shouldn't honestly buy a $650 set just for one minifig. I always buy a bigger set only when I like the build and the minifigures are good too.
completely agree, and at the day lego is primarily a toy and is only really considered collectors because the sets retire after a few years.
I don’t think anyone is upset Rex is available for cheap. It just shouldn’t be the exact same. Even if it’s just the bandage on the head it should be a little different. As many ucs sets have exclusive special versions of minifigures
So in my opinion, whoever thought back then, hey, I'm now buying the €650 Venator just because of Rex Phase 2, was just stupid in my opinion because it was clear that Lego Captain Rex Phase 2 was in again will release cheaper sets.

As if Rex is the only minifig like that. Oh the horror, people sell LEGO minifigs. Rebels Ahsoka, Queen Amidala, P1 Fox and Rex, Pre Vizsla, Jango Fett, Zeb, Tarkin, Agen Kolar, and the list goes on. Spare me the "for the kids" spiel. If it mattered none of the figs I mentioned would be over $100. It's ridiculous that a piece of plastic reaches those prices. Also the Rancor for that matter. Utterly ridiculous. If LEGO really cared about the kids they wouldn't be pushing those 4+ sets for $50+. I mean hell, that C-3PO is locked behind a $240 paywall. I'm sure kids like him too. And if the argument is that there are many variants of that minifigure then they could have done the same with Rex, like keeping the printed arms exclusive to the Venator. P2 Cody doesn't have printed arms and he's in a $140 set. For the kids, ROFL!
Honestly, it’s just nice for the first time in lego history to have Rex be available for less than $50-200.
To be fair, 2013 one was in a $30 set
It’s not the first time, he’s appeared in like 4 others older sets.
The 2013 one was originally in a $25 set
@@cjheumiller6311 You might want to do your research, the only sets to feature a P2 Captain Rex minifig was the BARC Speeder with Sidecar (75012) which released in 2013 for around $25-30. Up until then he has not appeared in any other set until the recent UCS Venator (75367) which is of corse $650. So up until now, this is the first time a Rex figure has released in a very long time thats not inaccessible as the 2013 Rex goes for $120-200 normally.
Figures, my favorite destiny youtuber likes Lego star wars as well. We are brothers now.
Remember when fans asked LEGO for 10 years to make an affordable Phase 2 Rex, and then they finally went and made an affordable Phase 2 Rex with this set?

Scam ? Lego is the scammer selling it as exclusive at first lol then lying. No one forces people to buy the minifig for scalper price only idiots
collecting exclusive items and then trading them is not a scam. No one is forcing you to buy overpriced figures. you people are so jalous. Lego lied in a first place, which is disrespectful to their fans. They could’ve easily release totally new Rex, detailed, well made, just little different and everything would be fine. Investors were actually delusional thinking that the most popular clone trooper in the history of Star wars wasn't going to get another minifigure. I agree with David that Rex shouldn’t have been in the Venator and just included in the micro-fighter. (Would’ve avoided a bunch of controversy.) Honestly, while getting an Anakin and Ahsoka in the UCS set would’ve been great, the Admiral Yularen is the only exclusive minifig the set needed.
If so there shoudlve been a normal y wing

Lego said it is ending the era of UCS exclusive minifigures, as those sets are about the building experience. They also went on confirming that these minifigures will on the long run be accessible for the wider audience, making them exclusive only temporarily. Given the popularity of the minifigure, to me it makes perfect sense, and am happy to see more people being able to get a hold of this beloved character in Lego form.
That era has been long gone (republic gunship, imperial Star destroyer, etc etc)
all the actual lego fans were upset they included rex in a $650 set. i’m so happy i can buy him now. THANK YOU LEGO 🙏🏼
I’d have to highly disagree with your statement as a dedicated Lego fan myself. I thought it was cool to have an exclusive Rex minifig in a large ultimate collection series set and perhaps they would release a different version of him in a smaller set at a later time. But nope, Lego didn’t do that, they released the exact same version of him even though they stated in their own writing that it is exclusive. I don’t mind a Rex fig in a cheap set, just not the exact same one as the UCS version when they said it would be exclusive, I won’t be thanking Lego for lying to its fans.

I love how some people will cry over this minifigure , yet say nothing about spending $700 on PLASTIC!
because exclusive figure with value of 80+dollars was part of the 700$ plastic. And Lego lied, once again, this is not how you treat your hardcore lego fans. They could’ve totally make a new version of Rex, no worse or less detailed, just different and everyone would stay happy. They have done that before many times, yet now they decided to screw with lego collectors for whatever reason. Like if it is upsetting Lego bosses that their fans and customers could possibly earn few bucks on minifigure in a future. They would spend those money on another lego anyway, it was perfect circle, everyone profiting. No one would be looser in such a situation, but nooooo, lego must punish those long term customers who spending thousands of dolalrs on their products. disgusting
@rawwad Punish! Sorry, but your anger is totally misguided towards lego. I have been collecting lego for almost 40 years, recently having slowed down due to the ludicrous prices lego is charging. That is where your anger should be, the prices, not the "exclusivity". Did the company lie, i don't think so as they never said the Rex character in the venetor set would never be used in another set moving forward. Just my opinion.

Clone troopers should include a cloth kama!

thats so true lego sw fans complain about fucking everything
No one has said that, i think some context is needed. He used the pauldron as an example of things lego could have changed so it would be a different rex

No one has ever said cloth kamas and arm printing is bad, he said that they maybe shouldnt have had arm printing on this rex to keep the other exclusive
@@Azact Which also is dumb.
Pauldron is iconic part of Rex. Also, we shouldn't let Lego be lazy and not include arm printing just to keep figure exclusive. You want exclusivity? Ask for DIFFERENT prints.
Or for what I was hoping for, a Kama in 13 dollars set

He took that long to start?!
I wouldn't have minded if they'd swapped out the head (because that head print is very specific to the last arc of the clone wars) but I'm super glad to have a chance to get the official Captain Rex minifigure. I don't have enough space or money to display the full Venator, so I'm glad there's an alternative option.
I wonder if they'll make a full scale Rex's Y Wing. This is a good sign for the future
Personally I would have preferred a full-sized version with a similar design to the 2009 Y-Wing to a micro-fighter version.
I feel like Lego should just make a Y wing but then release multiple different colours of it
@@Thy_Musketoon I heard they've been doing that for other lego themes. That would be cool also for Slave 1
Super excited about Rex in a cheap set. Really wish they put the UCS Luke in the mech
Yeah weird…..Rex is an exception to their cheap vs expensive version rule.
As an owner of the UCS Venator, I'm all in favour of the Captain Rex mini-fig being available to everyone at an accessible price point. My issue isn't with its availability. It's with Lego's general dishonesty on these things. They expressly stated that the Venator Captain Rex was exclusive to that set. Just don't lie about it. There's so many instances of just outright dishonesty from Lego. If you feel the need to be dishonest about something to improve sales, then there's an issue with the product or the price point.
yea, lego has been wildly inconsistent with what they are telling us they want to do with UCS figures. I think what they should do going forward is have 2 versions, one more detailed, and the other less detailed. Kinda like hot toys, and black series.
@@thegreenbacon514that’s exactly what they’ve been doing pilot Luke, C3-po, tie pilot. All of which have a cheap and expensive version. For some odd reason they didn’t do it with Rex.

Although I agree with a $13 set with a captain rex, I believe that People paying the extra price should get that extra something. They should’ve made the Rex in the Venator Exclusive by getting rid of the arm printing for the Y-Wing
cant wait to pick it up
So funny for the scalpers haha can’t wait to pick up 2 of these
Great! Now we can build an ARMY of Captain Rex!
Thing is, the folks who got the Venator would be angry anyway. Doesn’t matter if it had no Pauldron, different printing, no arm print etc. I don’t think they just want the figure to be exclusive, they want the character to be exclusive, because any updated phase 2 Rex would invalidate them buying the venator just for Rex.
I bought the Venator, and I think that ordering it for Rex is plain stupidity. Knowing the popularity of Rex, it was obvious that at some point in time, a better version would be sold and easely accessible anyways. The only characters that will most likely not get a remake are the specific niche ones.
Lego should not care about scalpers opinions to begin with.
The venator is awesome and it's value will rise no matter what. I don't see lego releasing another Yularen anytime soon anyways, so some exclusivity still remains. I'm glad that others now get to enjoy the same figure that I own and love, even if they had to pay less for it than I had to.
I literally wouldn’t have cared if they took off the Kama printing and gave him an actual Kama for this set, I wouldn’t care if they took away the raised up helmet holes and gave him just one in the right side in the micro fighter I just want something to make the two different and exclusive like the instructions said. I can already smell the little kids with their new rex posting him saying they bought a venator
The real cavalry has arrived !
I’m very very happy we are getting Rex here, but in the manual for the Venator LEGO themselves SPECIFICALLY mention the figures are unique to the set, so it’s their word they are going back on, more so than people just having their own expectations. They literally said he is an exclusive figure then do this. That being said I’m very happy to be getting Rex in a 13$ set, they should have just NEVER put anything in the manual about his exclusivity
Huge W for LEGO, people that think they should have an exclusive minifig just for buying a UCS set when so many people would love to have that figure are crazy.

LETS GO WE DID IT BOYS 13 DOLLAR CAPTAIN REX W
Glad I sold my Rex from the Venator for 150$ before this got leaked.
My family was hit hard by 2008, if I wanted Lego I had to work damn hard. I know that not everyone can afford the $800 sets. That's why they're "collectors sets" they're TOP TIER. Including the figs. I don't want to display, or be proud of, a $5 figure. It's worthless. It's fun to collect the $300 figs. UCS figs are part of the "collector" status.
Maybe that was true when things like arm printing were more rare, so it made sense to put these “fancier” minifigs in the more expensive sets. Now we are getting closer to the point where they would either have to deliberately put lower quality figures in the cheaper sets or design *slightly* different variants of the same figure (ie maybe with a different face expression) just so “collectors” can feel better about themselves.
@@ilikemandalorians9861 i'm just joking. There was a stupid post on reddit wining about how horrible this is and i thought it would be funny to mock them by reposting it

Notice how he dosen't even hide the fact that he doesn't really even care what other people say about it. He sounds just like some upset Ebay seller here who's original plan was to wait long enough till he could sell his extra Rex minifigures that he get for very cheap at the time in an aftermarket place for the triple of their original price after the UCS Venator set retired.
@@aleksihalme6726 it just sounds weird to me personally, because every lego fan (even the ones that don't care as much about the figures) have all agreed that more arm and leg printing is better and telling LEGO to lose the arm printing and accessories for this small set is sending a bad message overall.
We keep asking for more detailed figures, but some people hate that idea when it means they might lose out on their investments. Why can't we just put our selfish desires aside and just look out for the little guy every now and then (i.e. the cheaper consumers).
@@productionsinparadise2880Yeah, I'm so glad this Microfighter is getting ready to hit all the different kinds of different aged Lego consumers all over the world and this set sure sends a strong message to all the resale scammers and minifigure holders out there who don't do it with love and passion in mind and hopefully these people realise by now what their own selfish behavior has caused and action truly speaks louder than words here and things are slowly starting to look better for the true Lego Star Wars Fans and Collectors, I can't wait to buy at least one for myself day 1!
@@aleksihalme6726 Even though the future looks bright for the next few years, I still feel like things might go back to the way they were previously because the LAN members and other members of the online community have incredibly "loud" voices and we might go into an endless cycle of lego sets being consumer friendly for a few years and then go back to another era of things being too exclusive for the average consumer (an endless cycle of people realizing how hypocritical they are and then relapsing back into their old ways again).
Hopefully lego and the designers can balance out (limit) what advice they take from the fans (only listen to the consumer friendly advice).
For example, UCS don't need exclusive figures, but rather just very relevant ones. I think Admiral Yularin would look cool in a venator microfighter because there has never been a ventator microfighter before.
@@productionsinparadise2880 You have very good points and I appreciate that. Admiral Yularen in an cheap Microfighter set at least makes sense at this time period and less people would be pissed off about him being in it but this Microfighter Venator set might not sell as well as Rex's one will but this just makes me wonder what could happen if they just simply stopped adding any "Exclusive" characters to their UCS style sets and or not have any Star Wars minifigures included in them at all because that's probably number 1 thing that comes to mind and minifigures get all the negative opinions from the most people in the community and if we delete that small part of it then the most of these people might find these UCS sets much more worth it for them to invest their money on in a long run and the rest of them could see these UCS sets in an much more open and different light than they ever could have seen otherwise because all the negativity blinds them from seeing what they could be really be seeing and that thing is a great set that was made for Collectors, adults and all the age groups alike and there could be so much less negative and angry customers complaining if these sets din't have minifigures since most of these people only care about their "exclusive characters" in these expensive sets and they can't let go of their otherwise greedy mindset without LEGO as an company chancing the whole concept of what makes their UCS sets so good in the first place.
So glad you’re speaking so true. All the UA-camrs preaching their annoyance are just frustrated with their precious resell value going down (whilst still complaining about the helmet holes). Lego is for the community and so great to see them making such a great figure so easily accessible.
They still complaining about the helmet holes? Dang…
Going hard on the first reviews! Love it
This is a win for sure. It satisfies me to no end to think of the scalpers/resellers losing their minds about this. I do hope we can get a proper 501st Y-Wing at some point with Jesse, this Rex minifig, Ahsoka, and a 332nd Clone at some point.
I still think it's hilarious how Star Wars is literally about war, but Disney is drawing the line at "Slave I". 😂
I understand wanting there to be something unique about the Rex that is in the UCS Venator, but I swear... the people that are complaining about how this ruins the value of the Rex from the UCS Venator are just so frustrating. Its clear that these people are collecting stuff purely to show off and have something super rare and exclusive, as opposed to collecting out of an actual love for the thing you collect.
Who cares if you have a Rex that came from a $700 set and someone else has a Rex from a $12 set? It doesn't impact you unless you plan to resell, which screams to me that you are only in it as an investment as opposed to a genuine love for the product and franchise.
(also, if you spent $700 on a set purely because of a single minifig, youre an idiot)
In my opinion UCS sets should have gold figures like hp322. That way the UCS community gets something exclusive, but the rest of us don't miss out on anything canonical.
But I assure you, they won't be happy. Like you said, it's about showing off and preventing others from having fun, not about passion.
I don’t even care about his resale value it’s just that I payed $650 not for rex but for a very nice build with rex on the side, I was also told the figure would be exclusive to the set. I wouldn’t have cared if they completely fixed every issue anyone had with the venator rex, I just hate being lied to especially since they have sets planned out for years obviously leaving spots for upcoming shows but they had to have known at the time they were making the venator that the same Rex would be in a micro fighter for $10

LEGO should have modified something and created another variant with this version of Rex to distinguish from the fig in the Venator. They did it with Boba Fett microfighter and mech, which each had variants, instead of sticking the exact same one from the UCS Slave 1 for example. Everyone would have been happy. I don't own the Venator and I don't own this minifig, but I can see people accepting the price of a $650 set a lot easier knowing that the figures would remain exclusive and retain some portion of its value over time. Trust is now shaken with this move, and we will see less of the high dollar sets sell as a result.
Rex being available for $13 is a huge win, however in the same breath it shouldn't have been the SAME ONE from the Venator.
agreed. But I’m personally not complaining that it isn’t.
Why not. People complained a lot that Lego have put exclusive Minifigs in UCS sets a few years ago. Then they changed it and now the people complain again that there are no exclusive minifigs. Just don't expect exclusive Minifigs in UCS sets, even if it is written somewhere. ;)
@@bern71 the problem is that LEGO lied. As part of advertising the UCS Venator, Lego promised exclusivity to the figs. As David pointed out, Lego went back on their word. I'm all for Rex being in a cheap set, I don't think we should have to pay so much money for it, but keep the exclusivity; give the cheaper Rex solid white or blue arms
Edit to fix spelling
@@danielbrown3355 where did lego lie though? I checked the shop and neither the box nor the website mentions anything about exclusivity.
Plus we already know that lego does not hold exclusivity on UCS figures, (they did that with the clone captain which was thrown in a 12 € packs after the release of the gunship) they are not always exclusive, there is no ground rule about it to my knowledge.
The only thing I consider exclusive is if a figure is too specific to be sold in an easy way, like Admiral Yularen, then lego will most likely not release it again anytime soon, making it exclusive since they modify stuff all the time.
@@vincentperon2950it says it in the instructions of the Venator 🥰
the people who are mad about this are people who thought they could sell the minifig for hundreds of dollars later or just people who think owning an exclusive minifig is a life accomplishment.
People like me who bought this aren’t mad because he won’t be worth as much, were mad because lego set a bar for themselves by saying they were exclusive and proceeded to completely fail, they could’ve avoided any controversy by just not including this part
@@Lallbicker oh so you’re the latter
When I heard that the Phase Two Rex came in a $650 set, I was so upset. So glad I can finally get him in a cheap set.
And because i now know ill be owning a captain rex, i will now purchase your waist cape, thank you.
This'll show horrible lego star wars UA-camrs to not treat Minifigures like nfts
Fucking fax
If you spent hundreds and hundreds of cash for a single figure instead of the actual set itself, it's your own damn fault.
In my opinion UCS sets should have gold figures like hp322. That way the UCS community gets something exclusive, but the rest of us don't miss out on anything canonical.
But I assure you, they won't be happy. Like you said, it's about showing off and preventing others from having fun, not about passion.
Finally a set set where we can get Captain Rex without spending over £650 for a set
LEGO making sure Ryan doesn’t put out early reviews.
As long as M&R “Productions” is unhappy about the cheaper UCS Rex then I’m happy
At least the LAN beat MANDR
Looking past the figure controversy, I would’ve really preferred if Lego released the actual 501st Y-Wing first before the microfighter.
Finally, Captain Rex figure for a justifiable price 🥰🥰🥰
Been wanting a Rex for the longest time. Can't wait for this set
Rex being in an extremely affordable set is a huge win.
This should be a one per account purchase to prevent instant sell out
I see this as an absolute win. Everyone can have a captain rex figure, and scalpers who were charging the price of the UCS venator for the single figure are rolling in their graves right now
Cannot wait to grab this!
More people (me included) can finally afford him so I think its fantastic. The whole controversy is kinda silly to me. Sure, exclusive minifigures are nice but when it comes to beloved characters like Rex they should be more available. I kinda get the disappointment but I dont think its worth losing sleep over it. Besides, you still have Yularen and, you know, the massive Venator that is the main reason youre supposed to buy it.
As someone who can afford the Venator, I was on the fence. The deciding factor was the exclusive Rex mini. I held out on buying the Venator because the rumor came out Rex would be in a micro build.
I absolutely think a premium version of Rex should be in the expensive set, and a simpler/basic version of tex in a micro (cheaper) set.
I believe including arc trooper Jesse in the Venator would’ve been also a good idea just to honor the last episode of the show. I do like the idea of having Anakin with his clone wars armor aw well
This'll be great! I regret that I never got the BARC Speeder all those years ago, but now I don't anymore! The Rex figure looks awesome, and I can't wait to add him to a MOC I'm making of Anaxis!
Looks amazing captain rex set great review 👍
I don’t really care about the Y wing, i just love that lego hear to people which dont have much money
Exactly as a teenager who doesn't have 650 bucks to dump on rex, I'm so excited to get him for him.
Thank you from France for offering a great review just a few hour after the reveal 😅
I’m honestly very happy that Rex is in this set, just because I don’t care about the venator
I like that we’re getting Rex in a cheap set but I wish we could have gotten a mini-figure scale Rex Y-Wing with an Ashoka figure, a new R7-A7 (because they only been in 1 set) and maybe a Jesse mini-figure. I think a full scale blue Y-Wing would just look beautiful.
All important characters should be this easy to get. Goes for Yoda, Vader, Luke, Anakin, Obi Wan, Ahsoka, the list goes on and on.
I can FINALLY own a captain rex after always wanting one. $50-$100 is just not a price I would pay for something like this. This is perfect.
im glad i have been out of the Lego hobby for a while. I'm totally going to get this 💙🔥
I wish it was a play set but I'll take this all day!
Seeing scalpers on ebay scattering to sell this minifig is so satisfying
Holy grail Lego set,I need this
This could be a great set to finally build that Captain Rex only army!
Love this, Lego should do this more often
To be fair, the box art of the set is Bracca, from The Bad Batch, where he also has his blue Y-Wing. So, technically, he should not have the bandage anymore.
A fine addition to my collection
I see the argument with the UCs set, but I really like this set because it is the cheapest way to get a phase 2 Rex.
I’m actually glad he’s affordable now.
I would’ve liked to see him next to the new fives fig. Extremely excited to get both those figs
For the people who purchased the Venator they could have changed something at the 13$ set so it’s not exactly the same minifigure
I hope this set is a prelude to a play scale Rex’s Y-Wing with Rex, Ahsoka, Jesse, and R7-A7.
