Bill won the 2020 series of Strictly Come Dancing (UK's Dancing with the Stars). Think the producers chose him because they thought he would be the joke contestant, but he proved them and so many people wrong. Bill is a classically trained musician so he naturally knows rhythm and movement. His performances were so fun to watch each week. I would love it if you could react to them
Sandy Toksvig is Danish born, lesbian, but grew up in the US I believe, and speaks several languages. She very intelligent and very funny, QI does sometimes descend into chaos. And Bill Bailey is often the cause. :)
Bill is probably our most versatile entertainer . He seems able to play almost any musical instrument and his comedy incorporates that .He also won Strictly come dancing when he was supposed to be an early leaver . You should see the clip from Catsdown where Rachael admits to being a fan .
Sandi Toksvig is a Danish comedian, who took over as host from Stephen Fry for the 14 series: 'M'. There is one series a year and each series is themed about a different letter, the most recent series was 'U'. Yes, it's been going that long and, as far as I am aware, Alan Davies has appeared in every single episode: 308 so far!
Danish person here. I don't know that I would call her Danish primarily. She grew up in the US and UK and doesn't really speak Danish regularly. Our culture is pretty insular, so, to us, her being described as Danish is a bit like when Americans with Irish ancestry claim that they're Irish. She's brilliant though, and I don't mind her being an honourary Dane, a bit like Viggo Mortensen.
@@OzzpotIt was the champions league final in 06, I believe. I think they film the show in May so he had a clause placed in his contract that he could miss filming if Arsenal were in the final.
Danish-born British comedian would be more accurate. While she was born here, she's spent almost all of her life living in the USA and the UK. When she speaks Danish, it's somewhat broken. Interestingly, she didn't actually become a British citizen until 2013 or something.
The pet lobster is one of my favourite bits of improvisation on the show ever. In the early years in particular, the way Bill Sean Allen and David Mitchell would bounce off each other was absolutely infectiously wild.
Bill Bailey is brilliant. I've seen him live on many occasions over the years. He often produces a pipe as a prop - though obviously never smokes it on stage, so I've no idea if he does smoke. His shows are a mixture of comic ramblings and musical numbers. Her is a pretty unique talent. Sandi Toksvig is very clever and very funny and has been a worthy successor to Stephen Fry as the host of Qi.
Bill Bailey is absolutely brilliant. It would be worth seeing a full show of his own. He includes music as well as the stand up. He's a talented musician as well as a comedian and manages to combine the two in very original/unique performances. He recently did a number of programmes about Australia which were excellent and worth watching if you can get hold of them.
Bill Bailey is incredible, I've been lucky enough to attend a couple of his live shows - not your typical stand-up, but what can probably be best described as musical comedy! You'd probably enjoy some clips of his various performances.
11:30 Brian that’s Sandi Toksvig who took over from Stephen Fry. She is brilliantly clever and very funny. Well worth watching more QI with her hosting.
11:34 That's Sandi Toksvig! She's brilliant. She's been on QI a lot as a panelist but she's now taken over from Stephen Fry as QI Master. She's Danish but we love her here. Also that joke is extra funny given that she's lesbian.
As a gay lass myself, Sandi Toksvig is my heart's delight (😍🤩). I overcame selective mutism, which is part of my being autistic, to speak to her at her show. I let her know about this beforehand via an e-mail to the venue and she couldn't have been nicer about it. Waiting for me as I showed my ticket was one of her tour flyers signed by her. I've seen both her and Bill Bailey live and both events rank in the Top 5 nights out I've ever had. Bill was hilarious.
One of the heartwarming things for me to come out after Sean’s death was finding out how good friends he was with Bill. They used to go for long walks together across the countryside.
He's cut his long hair now, so he's just the "bald man" instead of the "bald man with the long hair" And the presenter is Sandi Toksvig, she's pretty smart and funny, and in my mind a perfect replacement for Stephen Fry after he left QI
One of the best things about QI is them leaving in what would be cut out in other shows. Eg the boat section at the end was left into the original broadcast because of how funny it was. Rather than they do 15 takes of one scene and just bore the audience and panellists like other shows.
The girl at 9:22 is Nina Conti, a ventriloquist. You’ve seen her in Black Books as the flirty girl Bernard was trying to impress with Manny underneath the piano. 🎹
The ventriloquist (Nina Conti) is very funny as well. She has a monkey and when he's the voice she is doing it does get rather rude. She also gets people out of the audience and puts masks on them and she controls the mouth movements and speaks for them. It is genius to watch. One woman speaking in a 3 way conversation, operating the masks and making it laugh out loud funny is a skill some comedians could only dream about. She's well worth a look.

There was a set once where I saw him say ‘Does anybody else like to get stoned, push a glass bowel into the washing up, and watch it from underwater?’ 😂
Bill is a genuinely lovely bloke. Although he has his moments of brilliance on panel shows, I much prefer his stand up. I've seen some brilliant stand-ups, but his show is the only one where I saw people so helpless laughing they were sliding off their seats. Fantastic performer 😊
Sandi Toksvig was born in Denmark, grew up in the US and now lives in the UK since the 80s I think (I remember first seeing her on saturday mornings on No.73).. Im sure she once said on QI that she puts on her english accent and that she really has a US accent 🤔🤣
