    I have cried all the way through watching this. Although i have not suffered with a back injury i had both hips replaced last year. I suffered for 2 years with chronic pain and was on 10 spoons of morphine a day, it did not take away any of the pain. In april last yesr my other hip completely collapsed in 11 weeks.. Because my surgeon knew i didnt want to live anymore he put an extra thestre on to operate., i had right hip done in jan and left in may.I was bedbound for 10 months. I missed out on so much in that time.. My psychiatrist diagnosed me with adjustment disorder.. I am so upset you are going through all this pain and trying to put on a brave face. You are trying to stay strong and i truly admire you for that. I am currently awaiting on a potential ptsd diagnosis, due to two years of trauma.

    Introduction:
    The streamer describes technical issues in recording the update and apologises for his lack of uploads recently.
    He goes on to describe his journey in recovery over the past 6 months and compares his recovery journey to a popular streamer with a 16 year legacy….
    We then get a recap of how the back injury occurred. He does not mention previous unfair treatment by a leading aerospace company.
    He compares his back injury to a jelly donut but the food analogy ends there.
    Plans for future streams
    The streamer describes issues with appearing on other detractor streams and how tiring and difficult it is to appear for long times.
    Conclusion
    Steve legitimately has back issues, but, is making a good recovery. He is a legend.

    I had been misdiagnosed 5 years ago but suffered with pain over 45 years as a truck driver. I did everything they recommended and later diagnosed myself with surgeon agreeing it's Anchroditus. My lower was destroyed by some trauma as a kid I was told with the amount of calcification on discs affected. L2-S2. It starting affecting my leg and bladder 4 years ago and now use a wheelchair primarily due to pain plus weakness. My bladder stopped working. It's a unrecoverable disease different than just"bulging disc" because it affects whole nervous system includes brain. Causes spinal cord fluid leakage into body and brain causing horrendous headaches and no balance. My spinal cord nerves are hardening up inside causing nerve roots to die.
    Best of luck mate. 5:11

    You had a good point about remembering exactly when your back injury happened. I also remember my first, maybe not the date but the exact scenario.
    To shorthand the story... I was 17, my back started acting up really badly during the practice before the 2nd last game of our regular season, by halfway through the practice I hurt so bad I had to lay on my stomach. A few weeks later after a misdiagnosis (the doctor kept calling it mechanical pain) and I found out I had a herniated disc.
    You'd think Phil would remember it if he had a debilitating injury but nah, he just doesn't want to admit he had mechanical pain and inflammation from being a big fat guy and sitting down all the time with no exercise.
    I also remember the exact scenario that lead to my 2nd herniated disc but that's just rambling. Glad you're looking like yourself Steve, missed ya

    • @ArchangelSteve
      @ArchangelSteve  6 місяців тому

      Yeah, spoilers for my video about his back, but it's really clear his back injury was nowhere near as severe as he portrays it. You can see how he adds new information throughout the retellings as the situation warrants it and not because it's a genuine part of his recollection of an actual event. I'm never forgetting those dates, those dates changed my life, you don't forget shit like that.

  • @DetractorAN1337
    @DetractorAN1337 6 місяців тому +1

    While there are gaps on the doses for the Morphine being administered, and this was in a controlled environment, I would hope depending on your current pain levels that you are being careful on what you are using since there is an addictive nature to it. Not to imply but it was something my father was terribly afraid of during his stay at hospital and his after care from a car wreck, he was adamant on avoiding the use of Morphine. My 2 cents of just being worried about the recovery process since this is not something I would imagine will just resolve within 6-12 months but something that will change you going forward and finding a new normal.

    • @ArchangelSteve
      @ArchangelSteve  6 місяців тому +3

      Yeah, I should probably have been a bit clearer about this. The first few days on the ward I was taking what I could because the pain was just that severe, but following the second operation the dose was gradually decreased before I was discharged, and since then I've only ever lowered the strength and frequency of the morphine I've been taking. I'm now at 2mls of 5mg strength, three times a day, and I doubt I'd still be taking it if it weren't for the nerve issues. It's serious shit and I don't want to be on it any longer than I have to be.

    I had a similar situation. But, it turned out to be a genetic issue they hadnt seen before. I was diagnosed with more than a dozen viruses/infections/diseases. Last was cancer in my spine. Was given a few months to live. I told the docs i dont have cancer and the spinal biopsy showed no cancer and no infections. I actually had none of what i showed symptoms of. And this is why i refuse to date anyone. Not going to put anyone through the shit im going through.

      Same here man, social life on pause at the moment because it'd be really unfair to dump this onto someone else, plus I can barely get out there to meet them in the first place!

    It took 10 months for the trauma to kick in. I want to say if you get any symptoms that may suggest ptsd please seek help. People who have not been through chronic pain will never understand how it feels. some of the comments on here are awful.I wish i could give you a big hug. Keep plodding on Steve and stay strong. xx

    I had a problem after my lac surgery it left me completely paralyzed from waist down for 3 and a half weeks. At first nobody could understand why but later when I found my disease a few months later looking into this. It says the worst thing I could have done is any surgery of my back. Because I have a viral infection in my back permanently from getting hashimotos disease(low thyroid) causing super long lasting inflammation. Also foods affect this greatly and so avoid processed foods, sugar other than fruit, artificial dyes/colors, no flavored beverages with chemicals, and natural free range meat and dairy. 11:25

    You've been sorely missed, but make sure you take care of yourself. People will understand if you get a twingle and suddenly "it time go" for you that day.

    And now's the part where I get to act all smug and remind the guy who was in a band of the importance of the mic check.
    This is the highlight of my life, and I will take it to my grave.

    Take all the time you need. You're certainly missed, but your long term health is a lot more important.
    Also, I've been there. It was my leg, but I know how it feels to be in physical therapy and realize how week you've become. It sucks, but it eventually gets better. It takes a while, but it does eventually happen.

      I definitely didn't anticipate how frustrating recovery would be, but I am getting better at remembering that I will get there eventually nowadays. That period between six weeks after being discharged until around late last month where I was constantly telling myself I should be further along was very difficult to deal with, but seeing the specialist really helped put everything into perspective, and I think I'll be much better at being realistic about things from now on.

      @@ArchangelSteve Bet you're feeling really silly now though. Could have just been lifting your self up in your chair a few seconds and your spine would have just deherniated, but you just had to go and get surgery and recover the long way.
      In all seriousness though, it's good to know you're doing better. Both mentally and physically.

    Steve just jealous he isn’t half the man that Phil is; if it were Phil he would have power walked out of that hospital around a week after the first surgery and been back on stream making money for his family. Detractors stay felted.
    (Hope you get better soon man)
