What are the chances of a earth directed X class flare knocking out our national power grids? Given that Earth has a rapidly weakening magnetic field, quite likely I'd say! I do wonder about preparedness for such an event from individual level to global?

It's a whole world wide watch now. the Carrington event of 1860's would take out our grid nowadays, then they only had the beginning of telegraph wire infrastructure which was taken out....that's why they watch for X class flares & power down. It's basically a certainty. In fact, they say that this current Solar Maximum (we are in one right now) is very powerful compared to previous ones (or something like that, I'm not an astronomer lmao). That scenario already happened once, in 1859, and was dubbed 'the Carrington Event'. It's totally gonna happen again, but when is anyone's guess. It's not a question of "If", but "When". And again, since we are in a Solar Maximum, I'd stock up canned food and water if I were you (I did). Just in case.
From what a few others have said that the sun will switch its poles, and that in general that the stars, galaxies etc are all made of electricity.

3:36 Induction? As a CME lifts off after a flare we have rapidly changing magnetic fields. This should create powerful electric fields which themselves will induce magnetism. The morphology of the loops probably speaks against such a scenario. But it's the best I can come up with. 🙂

This is a common misunderstanding of the math and geomagnetics. A solar storm that hits earth msy cause issues, but it also super charges the protection. Had this hit us only satellites and space vehicles and high altitude equipment would havd been affected.

As the condensed dark matter passes beneath the surface of the sun the temperature rises and near the core the gravity decreases the dark matter reverts to its gaseous state. The closest and primary release for this expansion is at the poles of the sun. Some however is directed by the rotation and relative location of the sun and dark matter spheres. As the dark matter nears the surface of the sun again most of it condenses and collapses which promotes circulation upward and outward. Momentum carries the liquid dark matter , gaseous dark matter and plasma out of sunspots into the solar system as the solar wind. The condensing dark matter results in the cooler areas on the surface of the sun. My thought is that if we could see the dark matter sphere that co-rotates around the sun it would look a lot like Jupiter except that dark matter is always being added and spun off or blasted into space. The offset of the dark matter sphere and the sun is a major contributor to the sunspot cycle as the dark matter rotates around the barycenter of the solar system.
Assumption: Dark Matter is the fabric of spacetime and is the meat in a soup of Quarks and Leptons. The Dark Matter sphere extends to the Alfven limit. There is always Liquid dark matter raining down on this sphere at various speeds. When the temperature/velocity/gravity reaches the correct combination dark matter vaporizes releasing heat. Quarks and Leptons vibrate in and out of spacetime and the more of them there are the more heat and momentum is transferred into spacetime. When Dark Matter condenses heat is transferred back out of spacetime cooling material in spacetime. When the sun’s surface cools and contracts streamers and the solar wind are accelerated out ward by the gravity of the passing Dark Matter. The higher velocity incoming DM will actually make it to the surface of the sun before condensing. The dark matter sphere is actually boiling and bubbling constantly due to various velocities of incoming DM flashing at a zero G equivalent which contributes greatly to coronal heating and solar wind.
