no not true. His message needs to be herd by everyone dummies. We already know he makes good music. he got his point across to us. but he needs a bigger following as 2 pac, or Bob Marley when it comes making revolutionary music. I mentioned the two cuz they actually made changes to our world. It still is his art its not easy to be a versatile rapper and make music u can vibe to, party to, and still get a message. Saying "make your art" is ignorance bro.

idris mech Your partly right. His music needs to be heard by everyone, but it will NEVER happen. He is to smart and can not be bought by mainstream music anymore. That reason alone is why he will never be on as big a stage as they were. His music will be heard forever though. Its up to the true fans to push his music and support him. I myself have turned people on to this album that never even knew it was out. He will always have a great fan base.

Fans of hip hop keep saying its dead, but when true hip hop is put out they dont support it.. the people are killing hip hop.. no excuses for why lupe wont sale at least 50 thousand copies this week.. on the positive side, the album is a future classic. The best I have heard in a while and that includes everything from last year as well

Sad thing is that Lupe's album sold 32k last week, while Iggy, Wayne, Nikki and Drake will sell 400k to 1m first week, it's sad when people that only like music so it sounds good bumping in their cars support artist more than the people that likes music because of its message, Hip hop is dead because the so called "real hiphop" fans aren't supporting "real hip-hop", this is why record labels fuck up good rappers music because they want rappers to make stupid shit that the masses will buy.

Its a recurrent theme. so i don't know why you guys are surprised. I already knew this album was not gonna do big numbers, i already know this album WONT get accolades. guys understand we are dissidents. we are cain. we are lucifer. this is esoteric territory. thats why we need to get our shit together and stop procrastinating and letting electronic devices hijack or minds. so then we can change lives by example..

I became a fan because of this album. You talk about important topics without the animosity and anger of people like immortal technique and Vinnie paz. .not only did I just become a fan, you became my favorite rapper. The Intertwining layers of lyrics just kill it. This album is a Picasso, or a van gogh type of masterpiece that I wanna graffiti the streets with by blasting my speakers.

This album has the greatest showing of lyrical art there has ever been. It's like walking around an art gallery and every track is a picture all creating one exhibition.
Adoration of Magi >>>>> any song written you can name.

Tetsuo & Youth is spectacular lol...how he took video game references, religion, the role of mothers in society, poverty and youth in the ghetto, prison system for different perspectives, and math / récord deals with secret geometry and Number systems is astonishing. Theirs Alot of narratives.....this álbum could be about a monk Tryna reach nirvana, a child trying to reach Peace Thru a hard Life, Lupe's time at Atlantic and HIM being free, Or etc ....Best álbum of the Year!!!!!!!!!! Love Lupe, his mind, his music, his material, is untouch...there's nobody in this industry that's more focus, gifted, & concise all at the same time. He's not blinded by money, he doesn't rap the normal bullshit (money, cars, & clothes), he's raps about the struggle, the slave mindset 80% of this country has. Like he said, Tetsuo & Youth is not for the new fan, it's for his fanbase. It's honestly his best work yet, & nobody except for maybe one person if he wanted too, can make a Tetsuo & Youth. This is a classic people, mark it down! When you speak of Thiller, Illmatic, Blueprint 1, Ready to Die, All eyez on Me, We are the streets, you have to include Tetsuo & Youth now!

Two solid albums in a row, one classic (Tetsuo & Youth), incredible flows and lyrics (Form Follows Function) and Lupe still isn't in people's top 10s. This generation of fans are plain ignorant if they don't start recognising the real top MCs in hip-hop. On a side note: Lupe went from a low haircut, to a fro, to braids to dreadlocks . . . this guy's like a Pokemon who's final evolution is rastafarian. He's a legend.

Lupe's album is a all around great work of art.He painted the cover, the interludes the extended verses not being cut down, That is art! He's got Three great albums and this one is one of them and this is the greatest of the three. Blew J. Cole out the water and J. Cole dropped a good album too he always does but the journey, the message the all around artistic package is great in "Tetsuo & Youth"

I'm with him in regards to art. Thank God somebody cares about making high quality music while pushing the artform further. That's what we need, not to focus on massive record sales.

I love music and I've never been into Hip Hop.
I needed to for some reason and I've seen that there's a big gangsta mainstream which is dominant and probably the reason why I was so reluctant to approach hip hop. And then I happen to listen to Tetsuo & Youth, and I was like.. finally! no swearing, no bitches, no exaggeration in any sort of way. Simply music and art. I hope Lupe can inspire other rappers to do so. I like this album!

Ivan Conte There are many many rappers like that. You just need to look online and find recommendations. Do not let what is played constantly on radio, commercials, and the like influence what you think rap is. Because all labels and businesses care about is making money so whatever sells is what they put out and people don't care to listen to much if it takes actual attention to understand the song. Glad you found his album I hope you can find more rappers that you will love.

Love this man. I grew up in my teens playing food and liquor and the cool. now I'm 19 in college and this incredible rapper still forces my brain to think. Tetsuo & Youth is food for thought for the mind with pleasure for the ears. I'll give this one some more time but I think this may be my favorite albums EVER. and thats competing with kendricks albums nas's albums Outkast, The roots, Mf doom, Kanye, eminem, Jay-Z(reasonable Doubt) and Jay electronica IF HE EVER FUCKING DROPS!!! >:(

He says he doesn't think this album is for new fans and doesn't think someone can pick it up and become a Lupe fan, but that's exactly what happened to me lol I had never heard a single Lupe song in my life as far as I know. I gave this album a listen and Lupe Fiasco instantly became one of my top 10 favorite rappers

Lupe is an amazing lyricists the album was great from front to back. I still can't believe people are sleeping on him he is so underrated it's crazy. I think if he got another radio hit he will be able to get his name back out there so people might go check out his album. I blame the radio because that's what majorities listen to and it's just the same people. They need to mix it up more.

I purchased this album wasn't really a fan of it but I been a Lupe supporter since the very beginning. I honestly just hope he can get some better production on his next one food and liquor style or freind of the people ish. I just have a hard time focusing on his lyrics with the beats he's been using lately.

Every album he put out was a masterpiece, especially the cool. Food and liquor was a story about Michael young history( My cool young history) and the cool album pretty much summarize the whole story plus he had amazing tracks like go go gadget, Paris Tokyo, hip hop saved my life. The other tracks were a continuation to his story. Homie the best rapper hands down, hope you feel the same for me when my album drop

Kendrick Lamar. Jermaine Cole. Mr. Lupe... They make true hip hop. They speak on what they see and how they feel about it and interpret it. He loves to rap. They all do. And EXPRESS themselves and their peers stories.
They will not sugar coat anything and for that I will always support artists with these qualities in mind.
