im researching a build myself, ive got 50 birds coming up soon, and more after :/ I have two old washers sitting around, one even a large top load with no agitator! This is inspiring to see, THANKS!
Great Thinking. Idea for you. drill and place a hose adapter with shut off valve at the outer white ring. then attach a 3/8 flair coupling and a flared copper pipe, crimp tip slightly for spray pattern or uncrimped. Your washer motor should have more than one hot wire. Low med high spin. or it originally had a digital voltage regulator. The drum is currently spinning at its lowest cycle. You could try a Light dimmer/ceiling fan switch as a make shift on/off/speed controller. Your project got me thinking of making one of these myself. Great job!
A M I was thinking about that but I did not want to damage the bird But now you said it I could always go up one step I will look into it a dimmer is a great idea thanks mate
Am looking at doing one myself but am not sure how to get around the electrical wirings and computer programming. How do you know which controls the spin cycle and whether water needs to be filled and then emptied for the spin cycle to run?
Beautiful. I'm just half way . I put more puckers on the bottom and a few on top. Hope it works. Do you put the chicken in hot water before you put it in the plucker? So straight on to the plucker once you kill it.
Hey Bud great concept, I am doing the same DIY with a simpson WM, question, the drum is not spinning the centre of the machine or agitator is spinning - How did you get this happening ? Need same advise that you followed to achieve this marvel, cheers Glen
I keep looking at chicken pluckers thinking "washing machine"! When I get time one day, I'll give it a go. Cheers mate.

would of like to see the bird after - see if your bird got cut on the middle thing
No cuts at all
I'm impressed. You got the best bang for your buck. I want one so bad!
I wish I had double the spare parts I would have built you one they make plucking so much easier
what do you do about the feathers? How do you empty it out?
Great idea
I can't wait to condemn my old washer so wifey can give it up. Thanks hey
no worries at all seems a waste not to use it hey
Thanks for a no bs video
Should I have to use a metal plate inside of it

Ashraf Sahul I direct wired the electricity to the motor and turn it on it constant power so spins when the plug is turned on
Very cool! Do you suppose a pulley change to speed it up would be valuable?
Thats awesome man. Works exactly like if you bought a new machine!
Yer man it does I love how it worked out
Im going to make one the same as yours! Would make life so much easier instead of plucking
Yer that it does man saved me half a day
Was it tricky getting it to go after taking out the other gadgets and wires?
Nah man I direct wired from the motor to the plug so it goes as soon as the power is turned on
Excellent video. Thank you.
My pleasure
We have another video coming soon on a diy pig scrapper if you do your own hogs might be worth a watch 😀

Yer I put it in hot water around 65 degrees c
Then into cold water then into the plucker
Excellent

You would need one that spins the drum mate
You may be able to screw the agitator to the drum if it is a free spin drum other then that mate I would have to see a pic
hello my name is Korg and this is my chook plucker 🤣🤣 I am going to do this now though
That's really great!! I wish that I had one like that!!

Hello, how can I get one
How do you drain the water and feathers out
It’s an old washer so the water drains easy as down the bottom of the tub but I just pick the feathers out by hand
@@OneMansWorld ok thanks
Where do the feathers end up?
We just take them out and put them in the compost
Do you have to physically reach in and pull the feathers out of the drum?
Good job
Great work buddy! whats the diameter of your drum?
Hi mate
I am unsure I can measure it and get back to you on that 👍👍
Where does the feathers go
Hey mate they just sit at the bottom them I hand pull them out
