  • The EAA Reservoir will be located south of Lake Okeechobee and is designed to store excess Lake Okeechobee water so it can be purified in an adjacent stormwater treatment area (STA) and then sent south to nurture the Everglades and Florida Bay. The reservoir will also supply clean freshwater to millions in South Florida and help reduce harmful discharges of polluted Lake Okeechobee water to Florida’s east and west coasts.
The Everglades Foundation Chief Science Officer Dr. Steve Davis answers questions about the EAA Reservoir: What is it? How big is it? What are its functions?

Considering the Everglades agricultural area is half a million acres, 17,000 acres really isn’t that much land

Laughable. The “restoration” industry is nearly as detrimental as the development industry.
